Producer Joel Silver throws a Memorial Day party every year at his Malibu home. The party has become something of a hot ticket around Hollywood, and every year some big names come out to the party. To Joel Silver’s credit, the party does seem low-key and fun, and celeb parents often bring their kids along. The paparazzi stake out the driveway, which becomes sort of the “red carpet” for the party. These are photos from the driveway.

This year’s party included appearances from Rob Lowe and his wife, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, Gwen Stefani & Gavin, Tobey Maguire & his family, Minnie Driver & her son, Kate Beckinsale and her husband and daughter, and Colin Farrell and Sean Penn (not together). I’m including some assorted photos in this post. I like seeing the low-key style and I like imagining that despite all of the hand-wringing about LA not being a “community” anymore, that all of these celebrities do spend time together and they’re raising their kids together.

Also: does Diane Kruger look pregnant to anyone else, or is her skirt just really ugly and unflattering?
