These are photos from Sunday’s USA network upfront event in New York City, and John Stamos is in attendance to promote the new season of “Necessary Roughness” along with co-star Callie Thorne. Doesn’t John look fantastic? Dude is 49 years old, and he looks almost exactly (albeit with better hair) like he did in his “Full House” days. I’d hit it pretty damn hard and make him sing me “Beach Boys” tunes while playing the bongos in the aftermath.

I’ve never seen “Necessary Roughness,” but some of the promos that they’re playing on the network (I’ve been taking advantage of USA’s afternoon reruns of “NCIS” and “Law & Order: SVU” from the gym) have me interested. For those of you who would know — should I watch the show? It looks pretty cheesy, but that sly Stamos charisma might be worth it.

In the interest of promotion, John recently sat down with HuffPo’s Live blog to talk about “the one who got away,” a.k.a. “Lori Loughlin.” Lori played John’s “Full House” wife, Aunt Becky. There’s always been a weird undercurrent of fans who not-so-secretly wanted these two to get together in real life. In the below video clip, John never brings up the topic on his own, but the journalist replays footage from an interview (from earlier this year) with Lori who discusses how she and Stamos’ “timing was off,” and John admits in this video interview that he and Lori did go out on one date before they ever worked together. Then Lori married someone else, and John married Rebecca Romijn, and now Lori is remarried to designer Mossimo Giannulli. A slightly uncomfortable John sums up the current situation: “She’s one of my dearest friends, and that’s good enough. But I really do adore her. She has a great husband and he’s got a lot of money so…” HA.

Poor guy. One thing is certain though — ladies still love John Stamos.
