Prince Harry & Duchess Kate have become ‘especially tight’ since her pregnancy

Here are some photos of Prince William and Prince Harry playing polo over the weekend (for charity). There was a minor kerfuffle about William agreeing to play polo on his wife’s due date, but at the end of the day… she didn’t go into labor and all was well. Nobody gave birth and no one had to take an emergency helicopter to the hospital. William and Harry played against each other in the Kent & Curwen Royal Polo Cup on Saturday in Sydmonton, England, and then at The Jerudong Polo Trophy in Cirencester on Sunday. Harry’s team won on Saturday. Of course. I have to say, both princes look especially attractive when they’re all overheated and flushed. I mean, of course I love a flushed ginger (unf), but William looks so much better with a little color in his cheeks too.

Speaking of how hot Harry is and how all of the girls (even his sister-in-law) like him more than William, Us Weekly had a “fascinating” article about Kate and Harry which basically made it sound like the heir is going to be a ginger:

Kate Middleton officially became a part of the royal family when she married Prince William at Westminster Abbey on Apr. 29, 2011. Though she was given a warm welcome by everyone from Queen Elizabeth II to Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cambridge has become especially tight with her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, since announcing her pregnancy in December 2012.

“The baby has brought them closer,” a palace insider reveals in Us Weekly’s Raising a Royal Baby. “He told her not to be afraid to call, no matter the time of day.” As it happens, Harry’s flat is a mere 150 feet away from Middleton’s two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington Palace grounds.

Middleton, 31, was due to give birth on Thursday, July 11. Harry, 28, returned to the United Kingdom just one day earlier after spending three days training with the Walking With The Wounded South Pole team in Iceland.

I’m not really going to criticize either of them for whatever this is. I do think Harry really likes Kate, and that he brings out her playful side. I also think Harry seems more willing and more capable of showing Kate affection, moreso than William ever does with her. But even though William might ignore her sometimes, it’s good that Kate has Harry. And of course, she always goes home to her mom’s house.

Pregnant in the heat! With scorching summer temperatures in effect, Kate Middleton left London’s Kensington Palace for some R&R at her parent’s house in Bucklebury, Berkshire, on Friday, July 12, a source confirms to Us Weekly.

“It was just too warm in Nott Cott,” the insider tells Us, referring to the couple’s Nottingham Cottage residency, which lacks air conditioning. (On Saturday, July 13, Wales’ highest 2013 temperature of 86.2 degrees was recorded). “She decided to spend the weekend with mum and dad. Much more comfortable.”

Indeed, her parents’ residence boasts a pool, BBQ patio, and many cool rooms to relax in. While the 31-year-old mom-to-be waits to go into labor (her due date was July 11), the insider tells Us that “protection officers are visible from the street.”

While Middleton cools off in Bucklebury, Prince William and Prince Harry are competing t the Cirencester Polo Club charity game on Sunday, July 14. The doting Duke of Cambridge will play on the same team alongside his brother and is prepared in case his wife needs him immediately.

“William is relaxed,” an aide tells Us, adding that a helicopter is not on standby. “Should Kate go in to labor he will go straight to London with a police escort.”

And if she doesn’t? “He will drive to Bucklebury and stay the night at the Middleton’s house with Kate,” the source explains.

[From Us Weekly]

Why not just put air conditioning in the little cottage? I mean, I understand how it’s a little bit late for that now, but surely someone thought, “Hey, we should put AC in all of these properties!” months ago. Maybe that’s just me. I live in the South. I wouldn’t be able to function without air conditioning.

Feh, Kate. Just have the daggone baby already.

Meanwhile, to me, William looks more relaxed with Harry than with anyone else. Yes, of course they’re very close, but I think Harry has the special ability to put everyone at ease.

    • Seagulls says:

You know, she’s not keeping it in out of some perverse desire to increase interest. No pregnant woman thinks, “heartburn, sore hips, sore back, enormous boobs, discomfort at every turn. Screw it. I’m keeping it in longer.”

I don’t care how much easier they are on the inside, after nine months you wish you could give an eviction notice.

      • Justme says:

        +1

I keep reading all these comments on various internet sites about how bored and fed-up people are about the fact that she hasn’t given birth. She has nothing to say in the matter! Babies almost never come on their due date. I’m sure nobody wants to get that kid out more than Kate.

And I can quite believe that the “cottage” doesn’t have A/C. Summers could go by without really needing it. Hard for Americans and Australians to believe.

      • Bacon! says:

I think it’s more that people are tired of the constant ‘Waiting for the Royal Baby!’/’Preparing for Royal Baby!’/’ZOMG THE ROYAL BABY KICKED TODAY AND KATE ATE A PICKLE’ stories, and the sentiment of “just have the damn thing already” is more “shut the hell up about this broad being pregnant already, we’re tired of hearing about it”.

    • BW says:

I wonder if Kim is waiting to release baby North’s photos on the same day Kate gives birth, so that Kim and North’s photos will be on the same page or in the same magazine as the new prince or princess’ photo.

    • LAK says:

Well, Diana was induced 10days early to fit in with Charles’s polo calender when she had William, so there is a precedent….

      • Justme says:

A bad precedent. Inducing can actually make a c-section more likely. I would think they would avoid this unless it becomes necessary (they usually wait 2 weeks after the due date). At any rate, William seems to be fitting a lot of polo so that is all good 🙂

      • LAK says:

I found it funny that all the reports of William’s Polo weekend, included hysterical, hyperbole pointing out that ‘ he would be 100miles from Kate’.

  2. Jen34 says:

They are overreaching for stories. Waiting for a baby is boring.

    • Kitten Mittens says:

I can’t help, but now agree with most everyone has stated at one point or another now. These articles of how close and in love William and Kate are have to be put out because there’s no evidence they are close or mutually in love.
You never see articles stating the obvious over and over again unless they’re trying really hard to change the truth. If it’s true to print articles like this is redundant and boring.

  3. phaksi says:

Id have a hard time getting along with someone who used to call me “Limpet” even if it is Harry

  4. Apsutter says:

Damn…9 months pregnant and no ac? That’s a deal breaker. I had a dream last night that the baby was a girl so I’m cautiously optimistic lol

    • Amelia says:

I feel for Kate in this heat (actually, make that everybody!!)
It’s bloody roasting here, we haven’t had such a warm summer for years. I’m at my parents’ home down in the southern-most point of the UK and it registered 33 degrees celsius last night .
It’s a challenge managing to sleep through the night, I can’t imagine what it must be like to have several extra pounds worth of baby and fluid etc, in this heat.
Although you do have to wonder what bright spark didn’t think to put an AC unit in their *ahem* cottage.

      • boredbrit says:

I know, it’s too hot for it to be enjoyable. I live in the South East. In our house we’ve drawn the curtains, that way the midday sun doesn’t heat up all the rooms. Makes a big difference!
Also, I’m fasting and the heat is intolerable. I drink lots of water after sunset but wake up with a dry throat every morning!

      • LAK says:

boredbrit – i am doing the same. I am fasting too, but not by choice. i can’t eat in this heat, so i am drinking water and juice.

      • Itsa Reallyme says:

Right? It’s not like they can’t afford it.

      • Nicolette says:

I can’t wait for summer to be over and fall to arrive (my favorite season), I’m done with the heat. NY is going to be the Baked Apple this week with temps in the high 90’s straight through. It’s been a really uncomfortable summer so far and the AC has been on a lot. Don’t want to see the next electric bill!

      • CC says:

Last year during the Olympics there a miserably hot few days. Oddly it went down after that. But I remember seeing the opening ceremony in a big screen in greater London, and boy was it hot! Even empty food packages started smelling like proper trash insanely fast.

      • Pixie says:

I’m in the North and it’s bloody boiling! The half hour walk to work leaves me a hideous sweaty mess on a morning, lovely!

  5. Anna says:

I must say, if I my husband was away all the time, and I was hormonal and a hair’s breath away from a hot ginger…well, I’d be tempted.

  6. Itwillrain says:

That’s crazy that they live in a place without AC, being kajillionaires and all. Just nuts.

    • LAK says:

Our weather isn’t consistent enough to justify AC, no matter who you are. if anything, cold weather is more predictable. Scorching summer weather is not the norm.

      • CC says:

True, but as far as I’ve seen, cold weather hasn’t been a good reason to add proper heating to more than half the London places I lived in. Most were of the garbage electrical variety that spend a lot of electricity, barely give out any heat…and don’t even get me started on badly insulated windows.

      • LAK says:

CC – that is so true. i live in layers during the winter months. i think we are just rubbish about insulation in general from cold and hot weather.

  7. Lou says:

They are both hugely unattractive in pictures lets stop pretending either is good looking just because they are princes. If we are supposed to slobber over a prince please post more on that Swedish prince that looks like Henry cavill.

    • Apsutter says:

Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one

    • T.C. says:

Poor William is balding and looks more and more like Charles. Harry is the only hot one in the family.

    • Lauren says:

Harry became the attractive one but when he was younger I thought that Prince William was the looker. However compared to a lot of the other Princes in Europe and the other Royal families the British Royal family is nothing to write home about in terms of looks and style (just my opinion of course).

  8. DanaG says:

It’s england a hot day for them is spring in Australia. LOL The building could be listed and not allowed A/C. It’s kind of pointless with one hot day a year really. I wish she would have this baby what is she waiting for? I think Harry just brings out her fun side William has always been more serious then Harry. Of course one day William will be King so he is acting like an Heir should. He would get into a lot of trouble if he behaved like Harry. LOL I think Harry will be an amazing Uncle and Kate and William both know it. He just has such a natural way with children much like his mother did. I would love the baby to be a ginger now wouldn’t that get people talking. LOL

    • LAK says:

They are both on record saying William parties more than Harry. We just don’t hear about it with William.

      • Maggie says:

The resident know it all admitting she doesnt know it all? I’m shocked!

      • LAK says:

Oh Maggie, i would hate to disappoint you…

      • Another K says:

I went to the link and watched the youtube. It’s an interview with Matt Lauer that is 6 years old. In answer to a question along the lines of how is William different than his perceived reputation as being serious, etc., Harry answers that William enjoys himself more than people think. And that’s it. So that supposedly proves that “William parties more than Harry.” Quite a stretch, I’d say.

  9. Talie says:

How do these royals lack AC?! I would die.

  10. Carolyn says:

I’m looking forward to this Royal birth!

  11. JL says:

She gets along with her Brother in law and her husband’s only sibling…..damn what’s that about.

    Next!

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      +1
I think this whole thing is ridiculous. I love my brother-in-law like another brother. No story here.

  12. Karen says:

I always thought she’d deliver late July. The press was so weird about how “tasteful” her mini bump was at 6 months. She’s probably due next week which is why Will was cool with going to the polo match. Plus they’re probably loving all the photographers and media sweating it outside the hospital for an extra few weeks, since their disdain for press is well known.

  13. Lou says:

Both of then are unattractive in photos lets not kid ourselves here. Harry might have a fun personailty but if he was just a commoner no one would act as if he was hot. Now that’s Swedish prince on the other hand is real hottie please post more of him.

  14. Ollie says:

William is one ugly man… and Harry only is attractive because of his superpower: charisma!

Without their titles and holy mother no one would praise them the way they do.

  15. Patricia says:

Harry and Kate remind me of Fergie and Diana – Harry brings out the devil in her – refreshing too – otherwise it is all a painfully boring and proper scene

    • iheargossip says:

Did you not see Kate’s topless and bottomless photos taken while sunbathing nude? Kate is Fergie, all on her own, except worse, at least Fergie wasn’t pretending to be anything she wasn’t. Kate’s devil is inbred in the Middleton clan at birth and evident their mad grasping climb and desperate hold on a weak Prince. Kate has more crotch shots from years of running in and out of nightclubs for years, let’s not pretend she ever needed any help in partying, Kate was partygirl. All she did was party and club for 9 years while chasing William and we saw plenty of her crotch while doing so, this chick isn’t a shrinking violet.
And Kate’s nude photos were done when she was with William on a outside balcony in France. She’s been sunbathing nudie for years, just look at the Ibiza photos, she didn’t need help in unleashing her sleeze, she’s been sleezy from day one of this mad dash to capturing the Prince. Goal accomplished. The Middleton’s all of them imo are just plain sleezy, from Ma to daughter’s. Sleezy.

      • Ktx says:

@iheargossip, I can’t speak to the other things you mention, but I disagree with people who label Kate sleazy or slutty because of those topless and bottomless (didn’t see the latter, oh my!!!!) pictures taken in France. Did you see the photograph of where the photographer had been stationed to get those shots? Those pictures were taken from a good distance away, from a road, and I truly believe that she had every expectation of privacy. So she was sunbathing naked with her husband at a private residence? So what? Good for her! She wasn’t naked on a public beach. Again, I can’t comment on the other points you raise, but I wish people would stop shaming Kate for those particular France-vacation photos. I don’t think that’s fair.

      • bondbabe says:

@iheargossip: And I’m quite sure you were “forced” to look! Judgmental much? Get over it. What has made you so critical of being naked? And how do you automatically equate naked=sleazy? Jealousy or insecurity?

  16. Celeste says:

I’d imagine that Harry brings Kate a sense of normalcy to the formalities of royal life. I think that itks great that they get along.
There’s probably red tape and tradition to getting ac in a royal household. Ugh. And staying at her parents house gets her more support (the palace seems to be an unemotional, tradition based sort of place) and comfort right nowan so that’s great. I think that Diana got completely sucked into the palace bubble, and felt stifled by heartless royal procedures (lol). And william knows that, and will protect his wife from experiencing that.

  17. mena says:

I’m sure Prince Harry is nice to Kate, but damn, does the girl have no friends at all?

How many times has poor Harry been used in a news story to make Kate appear normal/likeable?

Kate helps Harry decorate his apt.
    Kate gives Harry relationship advice.
Harry takes yoga classes with Kate.
    Harry cooks lasagna for Kate.
    Kate is protective of Harry.
    Harry is protective of Kate.

There’s got to be other people Kate is friends with, right?

    • carol says:

it’s probably hard to have friends as a royal, but she didnt have any friends BEFORE she became one so…. idk

      • LAK says:

        This is so true.

      • mena says:

Yeah, something weird is going on there. Kate has totally cut herself off.

After marrying into the Aristo/Royal crowd, you’d think her Social Circle would’ve expanded. It hasn’t. Either Kate doesn’t want to be friends with any of William’s friends or they don’t want to be friends with her. Both possibilities are bad.

I just find it strange that Harry is the only person they can think of to trot out as Kate’s little Rent-A-Buddy. Surely there must be someone else they can use too?

I mean, I’m guessing the point of these PR fluff pieces is to show that Kate has some support in the Aristo/Royal circle. But using Harry for every single fluff piece defeats the purpose, IMO. Instead of looking like Kate has made friends, it just looks like Kate is strangely dependent on / obsessed with ONE person – Harry.

    • LAK says:

      Funny, but true.

    • Fue McCormick says:

I tend to think that unless you grow up a royal keeping your friends after you marry into it may be a bit weird which is probably why she’s with her family so much (although she likes them.) The twit is probably rethinking her mistake of mean-girling the York girls especially knowing how much the Queen likes them. Power to the York girls.

  18. ANGELIC 20 says:

Kate and Harry’s reactions shows me how much better she will be at her public roles and duties if William tries to help her, comfort her and behaves nicely with her in public. She just turn into a happy, confident, goofy girl around her BIL which should be her husband’s job. I don’t think they more then a normal BIL and SIL relationship, it’s just he tries to make feel comfortable while William acts like a jerk.

  19. Coconut says:

Wills is more reserved than Harry–which isn’t surprising given his role in life–but is likely affectionate in private.

    • Kitten Mittens says:

      Coconut
I was holding onto the possibility that William was affectionate only in private too, but in various civilian cell pics of the couple they look unhappy together. In moments where no other camera is around and their guard is down William walks far ahead of Kate. Does not help his pregnant wife up/down stairs in and out of helicopters. There are never smiles on either faces, but rather sadness in Kate’s and contempt in William’s.

William seemed very happy with her in Canada. He clearly does show emotions in public and once showed love for his wife. William also looks his brightest with an infectious smile when away with friends and often looking friendly with cute, skinny blondes.
So, even if William is a reserved man now he could at least help his very pregnant wife by helping her around and not looking at her like she’s embarrassing him. And William’s role as I understand it is to be King one day yet he has still put off becoming a full time royal and refuses to prepare for his future by continuing to cling to a job he barely attends while receiving a pay check from it. It just all seems unlikely and William strikes me as a terribly narcissistic person.

      • Another K says:

I’m sorry but I just do not see this contempt or sadness in their faces that you so often point out.

      • Kitten Mittens says:

        So often? Hmm…
Video and stills show it quite well. The video is better since the stills are often edited to show a more favorable image.
The line in the sand is highly visible here. Some blindly believe and others constantly question what doesn’t smell right. It’s rare one side will convert anyone from the other.
I was a fan and the facts stacked against the happy image too much to to continue.
But i’m clearly stating my bias and in many comments on here they are too. There’s no gray it seems.

  20. Amelia says:

I would just like to point out that A/C is the EXCEPTION rather then the rule throughout most of the UK. When you rarely have more then 10 days/year that are above 80 degrees, what’s the point? I spent a month in the UK in August a few years ago and the typical weather was a high of 65-70 and raining. I spent more time in a cardigan freezing then I ever did sweating. =D Not everybody has the awesome American summers we get!

  21. mslewis says:

This “due date” was made up by the tabloids. The Palace said she was due “in mid-July” so this date of the 13th was just something the Daily Fail decided. There is no way to give an exact date for a birth unless there is a planned c-section.

Also, I don’t get why people think it’s strange that Kate and Harry are close and friendly. He is her husband’s brother and only sibling. If they weren’t close, it would be strange.

  22. LAK says:

    Harry has Philip’s profile.

    • mayamae says:

I think in the top pic Harry looks just like Charles – especially with his close set eyes. I don’t know how people continue to claim he’s not Charles’ son.

      • LAK says:

        true.

his side profile is pure Philip though. i’d never noticed that until i saw these pics.

      • Fue McCormick says:

Thank you for finally bringing this up. Whenever people start talking about Charles not being his father it’s complete BS. Harry looks a lot like Charles …

  23. Reece says:

Nothing to add here. I merely enjoying new pictures of Harry.

  24. molly says:

I would imagine waity kaity will be having a c-section

    a) she is too posh to push and that is too much like hard work, something she IS NOT USED TO !!
    and
    b) she will have the baby when it suits the royal family and not her, no matter how hot she is !!

when you are in the limelight (that is what she wanted) you grim and bear it!!

    • FLORC says:

      Molly
If she does and didn’t need one we will possibly never hear about it. There’s been so much contradicting and outright false information given on this couple that unless there’s a photographer to catch the and document the lies for us to see it goes unnoticed.

As far as the limelight. Kate never prepared for her life as a royal. She only had William to please and he only seemed to want to goof off. And Kate can never work more than William and show him as lazy (not that she would ever think to do that). And I bet her parents home is nice and cool. Let’s not pretend she lives anywhere else.

      • molly says:

if you think your opinions are right which they probably are not, mere guessing I suspect, one wonders why they ever got married !!!!!!

      • Flower says:

Did you forget about Diana and Charles? That was all sunshine and roses until their very smelly hidden can of worms was opened live on TV .

      • FLORC says:

        Molly
Sometimes people get married for reasons other than love. Let me be clear though. I believe Kate loved/loves William, but more so in a dependent kind of way.
William reached the age where there was pressure on him to take a wife and produce an heir.

    • mslewis says:

If she does have a c-section we will know about it because the nurses won’t keep their mouths shut. Plus, she will have to stay in the hospital for at least two or three days. A c-section is surgery and she would need to recover. If she and William are standing on the hospital steps the day after the baby is born then we will know there was no surgery involved. I don’t understand this “too posh to push” thing. Being cut open to give birth is far more difficult than just pushing. Plus, Kate is in great shape so she shouldn’t have any difficult.

(On a personal note . . . my niece died in childbirth after having a c-section. We still don’t know what happen.)

      • Sachi says:

Why should it be the nurses who “tattle” and break confidentiality? A C-section would be announced by the Palace if it happened. You make it sound like a C-section is completely forbidden and hospital employees are not to be trusted.

Many royal births have happened before Kate’s pregnancy and not once had there been a breach of confidentiality by the hospital staff except for the DJ hoax.

Princess Letizia of Spain gave birth to both her daughters by C-section. The Palace announced the birth through a text message to the press. Her husband, Prince Felipe, went outside to personally update the press about the babies and thank the medical team.

Most Princesses stayed a few days after giving birth even though they didn’t have c-sections. It was necessary that they stayed in the hospital because they needed to present their newborns to the press outside of the hospital, and they must appear dressed and made up from head to toe. Only Princess Victoria of Sweden left the hospital a few hours after giving birth to her daughter and there was no press event, only one photo was released.

Kate will likely stay 2-3 days as well.

  25. The Original Mia says:

Knew she wasn’t having that baby this weekend. Tried to tell my mother, but with ABC sending a correspondent over there and all the baby talk on the Saturday shows, she was convinced. Lo and behold, no baby and the news organizations looking ridiculous for catching baby fever. Oh, and she was probably never in Wales. She’s probably been ensconced in Buckleberry since we last saw her.

As for Harry & Kate’s friendship, whatever. I think he’s friendly when he sees her, but he isn’t seeking out her advice or anything. He has his own set of friends and his cousins who he’s closer to. But it makes for a good story in the never ending attempt to make Kate the people’s Duchess.

  26. bettyrose says:

I dated a guy once who had a really cute charming younger brother. I loved getting to hang out with him as part of the package deal.

    • Sand says:

I dated my bff’s cousin for five years because I loved the family! It happens! Loved hanging out with all the cousins and extended family… It made it hard to leave him. Still have my BFF though 25 years later

  27. UsedToBeLulu says:

I try to do my blush so I look just like Hot Harry does when he’s been exerting himself.

  28. Maggie says:

I think William is going to be a great Dad. He has a lot of his mother in him.

    • FLORC says:

      That’s quite a statement Maggie.
Could you please state qualities they have in common?
Is it William’s tireless efforts to continue his mother’s charities? Or his stunning charisma? Or how he just oozes love and affection for those around him and especially those that are children dealt a bad hand? Or his extremely good work ethic and taking on many charities that are more grass roots and less polo events and galas?
If you said Harry instead of William I would believe you. I haven’t seen William as his mothers son in years. He only speaks her name for goodwill and excuses. Harry truly honors his mother’s memory and legacy.

      • Maggie says:

        FLORC says:

I haven’t seen William as his mothers son in years. He only speaks her name for goodwill and excuses.

That’s an awful thing to say Florc. You think he uses his Mother’s name for his own benefit? I dont think so.

      • FLORC says:

        Maggie
It may be awful, but that doesn’t make it a false statement.
I’m thinking of the speeches Harry gave at Diana’s memorial garden and while in the states recently. He spoke lovingly of his mother. Her charity work was very close to her heart and he learned that from her and valued that. He recalled cherished memories. All very sweet. He never used her name to avoid embarrassment in Vegas or any other scandal. And Harry is extremely active in his mother’s charities by getting his hands dirty.

William has done this far less often. He speaks of his mother more to avoid negative press if anything. Yes, he might just keep his private, personal memories private and personal, but his actions speak volumes. Diana only comes up with him to avoid something.

Please give me examples of when William spoke of his mother lovingly without using her memory for his personal benefit? When has he worked with her old charities that wasn’t a gala or polo match? When was the last time he visited her charities like she would? Get his hands dirty?
So if you disagree please offer up situations that support you thoughts on why i’m wrong.

That article is A. From the DM online. That’s the ultimate brown noser to the Middletons and Will. B. From 2009. I’ve stated numerous times before they were much cuter during their honeymoon days. Will was openly affectionate with Kate. He is from from that these days. In fact he’s far from the man he was in 2008-2010. There’s nothing more recent from a more reputable publisher. And it’s very easy to find article after article of examples of how William used his mothers name to shame others or in his or Kate’s defence. Not to honor.

And just to make myself clear. I’m not saying William was not sad and hurt that his mother died. I’m not saying that he only remembers her as a get out of jail free card.
I’m saying he speaks her name to help himself more than he does to honor her memory. I never said there wasn’t love and heartbreak for him suffering the loss of his mother.

      • Maggie says:

FLORC: the Daily Mail didnt speak for him. Appeared to me it was him speaking. And he was honouring his Mother’s charity. You have an answer for everything but you know not what you are talking about. I’m getting a very strong jealous vibe.

  31. Baskingshark says:

    Dear Harry, please seduce Waity and either have;

    (1) A very public love triangle, kicking off a massive feud with your brother, incurring the wrath of Kris Jenner Middleton for threatening her carefully crafted plans to get her daughter’s vapid backside on the throne and bringing some actual conflict into Waity’s lazy life for once as she’s forced to choose between you and the plans she and her family have spent more than a decade putting in place. Will the iron-clad expectations of the family who spent ten years and a small fortune levering her into a position from where she can seize the ultimate power win out, or will she let it slip through her fingers for true love?!

    Or

    (2) Live in an equally public and scandalous menage-a-trois.

Either way, if you make any of this happen, I promise to stop writing nasty things about you on the internet and calling for your abolition for at least a week.

    • Trashaddict says:

This would actually make a great novel: Royal brother gets Royal Wannabe girl pregnant, she refuses to abort. Future king needs a beard. Queen Mum is not amused, figures marrying off Royal Wannabe to someone else is appropriate punishment. Lots of back room drama ensues. Voila! Strictly fiction, folks….

  32. Lark says:

I can’t imagine the sh*t-storm that will occur if those recessive ginger genes kick in. I do think Harry is fond of Kate, and she seems far more comfortable at public events when he’s around. I wonder if Wills is already stepping out on her and if it bothers Harry.

I really don’t have anything to say other than:

    1. I’m so tired of the PR machine trying to “sell” the story of Will & Waity. It’s not working. They need a new script writer or better players.

    2. If she has the baby on the 26th, then it would be in good company: Me, Helen Mirren, and Mick Jagger. Leos rock!!!

  34. Stanhope says:

You want beauty in a royal? Look to Monaco. Whew! That said Harry is hot.

  35. Ravensdaughter says:

Been looking back on Diana’s life and remembering how uptight (that’s a nice way of putting it) the Royals were with her and still are with those who not “Royal of Birth” (remember the kerfuffle with the York girls?). I think Harry may have a soft spot for Kate as an “outsider” because he lost his mom so young and then got in trouble-I think Charles softened some of the blows that must have come Harry’s way from Buckingham Palace.
Also-because he tripped up as an adolescent, he may have been able to see Diana’s difficulties more accurately than William ever will be able to. I think William thinks of his mother as a saint-it’s hard to fill the shoes of a saint!
I am so sad that Diana won’t be here to welcome her first grandchild. I think both Harry and William feel that pain, whether they express it overtly or not.
Diana paved the way for Kate to be a hands-on-mum, too-I remember how freaked out the Royals were when Diana delivered the boys in a hospital!!!
Oh, and on the practical side Harry will be a great uncle and an extra set of hands-wonderful!
May everything go smoothly from here on out. I remember how scared I was before I gave birth the first time!

    • mslewis says:

True,Diana was not royal by birth but she was the youngest daughter of a Duke, she lived in a house on the grounds of one of the Queen’s palaces and she played with Andrew and Edward when they were children. She was not some middle class girl who married well. The problem was she was thrown into the deep end of the pool without guidance from the people who should have known better. She also had many, many issues because her mother abandoned her for the love of another man. This made her feel unloved and when Charles also abandoned her, she became a very unhappy woman. She was very dependent on William and I think he would have had a rough time finding a woman to meet her approval because she would not have wanted him to leave her.

I think Harry is close to Catherine simply because his brother loves her and he loves his brother and wants everything to go well for him. It has nothing to do with their mother.

I bet she has it tomorrow, July 16. That date has a lot of significance in my home and I’d find it an absolute riot if she did.

  37. xxx says:

My friend is a news cameraman normally based in the States and he has been camped outside the hospital for weeks now. He said he’s never been so bored in his life but his news channel is making him stay there until she gives birth. Pretty crazy how mental everyone is going over this!

  38. Fue McCormick says:

On the news in the States they keep talking about all the news agencies being camped out across the street from the hospital. Then they pan over for a picture and there’s just a bunch of empty ladders there holding a place for the photogs.
Wouldn’t it be funny if she’s actually giving birth at a different hospital and they’re outside the wrong one? I don’t think that will happen because even though Kate appears to be uncomfortable speaking in public I think she really likes the attention.
The other thing I was thinking of is that even though William loved his Mom very much, he may be carrying a grudge because she relied on him so heavily when he was so young. I’m sure he wanted to be there for her, but that is indeed a heavy load for a kid. Both of my parents died of natural causes years ago and I think about them every day because I loved them so much. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to lose someone due to a tragic accident. They probably wonder every day what they could have done differently to save her.

I think they need one of those little portable deals that you plug in and roll around from room to room. The can share it with Harry and roll it over to Buck House if Lilibet needs some air.

  40. Thinker says:

Just reiterating my opinion that Carole & the Middletons hired good PR months ago (likely after the topless French vacation) and that this baby was always going to be late. Waity Kate has turned the waiting game around. This is her crowning moment, making the world wait with baited breath builds the anticipation, suspense and excitement.

Carole Middleton said the baby would be a Leo. The earlier due date was leaked because Kate didn’t want people to realize that she announced a pregnancy at 5-6 weeks max. It’s just way too early, and too risky to announce that early (especially if you want privacy). 1/3 of pregnancies end in miscarriage before the first trimester. But announcing early was a win/win for Kate. Even if Kate had miscarried, she would’ve had the worlds sympathy with that too. The bigger point of announcing early was to put a cease on the endless stories of Kate’s biscuits getting sun in France, during the time when she was obligated to be fulfilling her role in London as Ambassador to the Special Olympics. She literally got pregnant as soon as the scandal came out. Announced the pregnancy before a normal waiting period, and successfully ended the media’s constant publication of boobgate drama. Furthermore, the announcement forced William to stop with his “no wives allowed” hunting weekends, one of which he was on during the hospital visit coreographed by Kate and Carole.

  41. Maria says:

is Harry still dating Cressida? We never seem to hear about her very much. And Kate is close to Pippa, or isn’t she?

    • Thinker says:

Harry and Cress were together for Glastonbury, as of the beginning of the month they are very much together, and becoming more serious.

Pippa and Kate are likely quite close, they are sisters. They share a number of common interests. Further, Kate seems to rely very heavily on her family ties for support, I would imagine Pippa is her best friend.
