Jake Gyllenhaal & Alyssa Miller are cuddlefesting in Martha’s Vineyard

A few weeks ago, we had the first “couple photos” of Jake Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend of some-odd two months, Alyssa Miller. Personally, I’m not buying it, but I learned something from that post: no matter what, people have really strong feelings about Jake’s alleged sexuality. Some people are convinced that he’s gay, and other people are equally as convinced that he’s straight. Can we compromise and call him bisexual? I have no idea what he is or who he likes to bang, although I think we should all keep in mind that for Jake’s official girlfriend roll-out photo-op, he brought along his mother. Because regardless of his sexuality (and most of you ignored my proposal), Jake really needs to be in the newly-formed Motherboy Club with lifetime members Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper. The Motherboy Club just sounds… elegant. I bet they have a great surf ‘n turf night.

Anyway, now that Jake and Alyssa have been together for two months, it’s time for stories about cuddlefesting and apple-picking!!! Sorry, the words “cuddlefest” and “apple-picking” aren’t actually used in this story, but it’s definitely the Taylor Swift-esque subtext:

It’s only been two months, but Jake Gyllenhall and Sports Illustrated model Alyssa Miller are proving their new romance is more than a summer fling! Not shy in hiding their feelings, an eyewitness details the couple’s latest romp to their favorite summer retreat — Martha’s Vineyard.

Arriving on July 25 at New York’s JFK Airport for a long weekend, the source tells Life & Style the Jake and his new girlfriend “were very affectionate toward one another and were laughing and smiling a lot. They held hands on the flight and even kissed a few times while up in the sky.”

And their canoodling didn’t stop in the air! “They were hugging each other for a long time while they waited for their luggage in the Martha’s Vineyard airport,” the eyewitness dishes.

A frequent summer getaway for the duo, a friend of the couple tells Life & Style, “Jake and Alyssa have been going on weekend getaways to Martha’s Vineyard,” adding, “They seem so happy and in love.”

It’s no surprise the 32-year-old actor has introduced Alyssa, 24, to Martha’s Vineyard. Jake’s family has a house on the island, and growing up he spent many summer vacations there working as a lifeguard.

[From Life & Style]

Just think, if Taylor Swift had stayed with Conor Kennedy, she would be spending her downtime in Hyannis Port this summer, which is just a ferry ride away from Martha’s Vineyard. They totally would have run into each other! Good thing Swifty dumped Conor (or did she?) and sold her Hyannis Port mansion and she’s now camped out in Rhode Island.

As for Jake and Alyssa… sure. Okay. I give up. I hope they’re happy together. Just wait, though. As soon as I give up any angst about this couple, they’ll break up.

24????!!! I’m sorry – she looks WAY older than that. I am 34 and I look younger than her (serious).

  2. Bubulle says:

Jake has learned from his past mistakes (eg Taylor Swift) he is playing more subtle this time dating an unkown model, sorry Toothy still not buying it.

    • GB says:

Weird. A musician with a verified account tweeted she was with Jake this past weekend In L.A. while he was supposedly on Martha’s Vineyard with Alyssa. The tweet was deleted a short time later. CONSPIRACY THEORY.

  3. Anna says:

Has anyone watched Alyssa’s interviews on youtube? Vapid and dumb are the words that spring to mind.

  4. Mia 4S says:

No clue about his sexuality but it’s certainly PR. He flies under the radar, and now he has a movie with Hugh Jackman in September and these stories start up? They all do it, Jake just has no luck with it.

I like the word “cuddlefest” it´s so damm funny.

You just forgot to said something about the US Weekly report, what her father said about his: ” phenomenal looking “daughter’ And how she is so “Excited” and “ecstatic” to be with him, sounds like she won a contest. The worst part of this is her twiiter account, last sunday she posted the mensage: “I love you” you can see that somebody wrote but you don´t know if was jake or her (I believe it was her).

    just see here: http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/alyssa-miller-is-really-excited-to-be-dating-jake-gyllenhaal-says-her-dad-2013257

I really don’t care “what” he is. He’s charming on screen, I don’t care about the rest. But … bisexual is not a “compromise” for people who fight over whether he’s gay or straight. Bisexual is not some muddy in-between thing.

    • Monty says:

This. Also male bisexuality is extremely rare if you go by recent studies (before anyone raises it, these studies discount the Kinsey scale). I used to have a gay friend who would scoff everytime we suggested that a man was bi. I thought at the time he was biphobic but it seems he had a point.

Maybe Jake is a rare true bi guy. Maybe it just shouldnt matter.

      • littlemissnaughty says:

I honestly have no idea what the ratio of hetero/gay/bi/something else is. I think studies on this are problematic because before you can conduct a study, you need to define the terms. And then people have to pick the one that describes them best. Only, the reader of the study might define “gay” or “bi” differently. For me personally, it’s not necessarily about who you sleep with. A straight man can still be straight even if he has sex with guys from time to time but only “dates” women. That definition might not hold up for others.
Ugh. I wish nobody would care enough to do studies/surveys. Because what for?

      • Monty says:

The value of research is intrinsic. Anything that helps us understand ourselves and each other is good, period. Having said that, sexuality studies have changed societies perceptions of homosexuality, shifting it from taboo/sin/crime. Studies guide public health policy on STIs amongst many other public goods.

The studies I have encountered had very few of the methodology issues you raise. The bi men studied were self identifying. They werent selected on behavioral criterias but on what they called themselves. And although sexual stimuli featured in the studies (bi men responded almost exclusively to same sex stimuli. V different from bi women), there are a number of other tests. In one study, 65 perc of men had changed their self identity from bi to gay in under 10 years, which could mean anything I guess.

Anyway, I forget how any of this is relevant to Jakey, so I’ll just drop it.

      • Louminary says:

I grew up with some male friends who were for the most part straight, but would kiss one another and have no issue with being naked together or fooling around a little bit.
I never thought of them as gay or even bisexual. I think there is a real current of neediness and insecurity amongst my generation, and they just loved to be loved, if that makes sense. When desperate for attention and approval, it doesn’t matter which gender is giving it.
        That’s just my theory

      • GB says:

Pretty sure those studies were discredited. Bisexuality absolutely exists.

      • littlemissnaughty says:

@ Monty: The issues of defining certain terms are always present, whether the people participating define them or the researchers. Research has moved away from behavioral studies anyway, at least when it comes to human sexuality.
And I strongly disagree that it was science and research that played the biggest part in changing society’s perception of homosexuality. It maybe helped a little but I even doubt that. It was mostly the LGBTQ community that started fighting for their rights and then slowly (or quickly, historically speaking) things changed. Most people even today change their attitude because a family member or friend comes out or because they finally get to know non-straight people and see that there’s really nothing to it.

        I still don’t care what Jake G. does. 🙂

  7. Elodie says:

There was a time Jake was such a hot thing and dare I say bubbly and smiley, and something happened in his head he grew facial hair and decided to be obnoxious for a reason… oh well…

    • Nessa says:

I totally agree. He has lost that sparkle. His looks have steadily declined along with it. He isn’t the same person. Just my two cents…

    • Monty says:

Its his lip situation that turns me off. Dude has zero upper lip. I mean can he even kiss???

  8. Kiddo says:

I hope he’s not the CD&N blind from yesterday, like a lot of people were guessing.

    • amanda says:

      what was the blind?

      • Kiddo says:

I’m not sure they would want me to link it. Vaguely described, it’s about an A-list star dating models. Just look through yesterdays blinds and the guesses.

  9. lisa says:

gay, straight – either way he’s creepy

  10. Mr. Stinky FishFace says:

He is and always will be one of my hottest guys alive. I just…unf. Everything about him to me is beautiful. I don’t care if he’s gay/bi/straight/whatever he just he’s been my celebcrush for so long I can’t help it!

  11. Mimi says:

Does anybody care about him anymore? He used to be such a big deal… now just meh.

  12. Rico says:

By now I think he is straight as an arrow

not buying Ted’s crap anymore sorry

  13. South America says:

Last year Alyssa twitter a mensage about Taylor and jake and now TS fans just found out:

“@luvalyssamiller: Taylor swift is all F U Jake Gyllenhaal, F U John Mayer, F U Joe Jonas! And I like it!!”

    ironic and funny isn´t?!

    • Nienke says:

Haha, I know right. How ironic is that. That tweet is circulating all over the internet right know. Guess she deleted it a little too late, lol
