Did Jennifer Lopez & Taylor Swift get into some kind of cat-fight in LA?

This is an Instagram photo off of Jennifer Lopez’s account. A few weeks ago, Jennifer made a surprise guest appearance on stage with Taylor Swift as part of Swift’s week-long concert series in LA. They sang “Jenny From The Block” together and all seemed well. But Star Mag is trying to make some kind of catfight happen:

Taylor Swift should’ve gotten the scoop on Jennifer Lopez’s diva behavior before she had J.Lo make a cameo at her concert in LA! While fans frekaed out over Jen’s surprise performance on August 24, Taylor was also in a tizzy.

“Jennifer was exteremely rude to some of Taylor’s closest friends backstage,” an event staff member tells Star. “Jennifer made it clear they shouldn’t look in her direction or speak to her.”

Now Jen is on Taylor’s bad list – right along with her numerous exes, says the spy, who adds that Taylor has decided she will never work with J.Lo again or even invite her to a performance.

It really seemed like we were in midst of another good Swifty catfight. Remember when Swifty tried to start something with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey? Remember when everybody began to notice that Swifty has some kind of bizarre fatwa against brunettes? Yeah, Swifty is always good for a catfight. Alas, it was not to be with J.Lo.

Taylor Swift would so totally get back together with Jennifer Lopez to perform again. While a celebrity tabloid is reporting that the two didn’t get along when J.Lo was the “22” singer’s surprise performer at her Aug. 24 concert in Los Angeles, a source tells E! News that nothing could be further from the truth.

“The performance collaboration was a fantastic experience, and Taylor was thrilled,” the source said. “Jennifer and Taylor hit it off tremendously and they had a blast working together, as did their respective crews.”

Star magazine claims Lopez was “rude” to some of T. Swift’s friends and demanded they not look at her or talk to her. The magazine went so far as to say Swift has decided never to work with Lopez again or even invite her to one of her concerts.

“Taylor loved working with Jennifer, and was so impressed with her professionalism,” our source said. “Taylor is even putting together a video of her week of shows in L.A., and this will be a big part of that. Clearly, she would not do that if she was not going to work with her again.”

At the concert, Swift introduced Lopez by talking about when she was a little girl.

“You know how you have your favorite song that you just play over and over and over again,” she said. “You just blast it in your room and you’d sing in front of your mirror into a hairbrush, right? You have that one favorite song. It was your favorite song to dance to. Los Angeles, this is my hairbrush song.”

With that, the sold-out crowd of 15,000 went crazy as they heard the opening notes of “Jenny From the Block.” They ended with a big hug.

“Thank you for inviting my family to be a part of yours @taylorswift13!!! #RedTourLA,” J.Lo tweeted along with an Instagram photo showing four different pics of them in her dressing room.

Swift tweeted, “Sang Jenny From the Block with @JLo tonight at Staples Center. STILL FANGIRLING OUT ABOUT IT.”

[From E! News]

I actually sort of surprised that Taylor and Jennifer did get along. It doesn’t seem like they would have too much in common, and neither woman is famous for playing well with other women. But it looks like they did just fine. Catfight canceled!

Also, did you hear that Taylor made it into the Guinness Book of World Records? She has the record for the Fastest-Selling Digital Single with “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” AND she’s the first solo female artist to have two million-selling weeks on the U.S. Billboard album charts.

Here are some pics of Swifty out and about in LA earlier this week. Say what you will about Stalker Eyes, but she has really nice legs.

I think we all judge Taylor a bit too harshly – after all she’s a woman who’s extremely successful in her field, doing what she loves to do. I know she’s always talking about boys etc etc but isn’t feminism about women getting the opportunities to do what they want without censure? Good for her I say.

I agree with this. I am not a girly girl myself but I am happy to make room for those who are. And there clearly are very many of them given how well her career does.

I am also surprised to hear that she is perceived as not playing well with other girls. Doesnt she move in that young starlet circle with Selina and that girl from The Maids? I remember her calling out Tina and Amy but I think that was just her being thin skinned and a little humiliated by how they dissed her.

    • Anna says:

I agree. The Fey debacle aside, she has had no issues with other women.

She has so many famous friendships – Selena, Emma Stone, Dianna Agron, Lena Dunham, Tavi Gevinson, Jessica Szohr, Hailee Steinfeld etc etc. Not to mention, her non-famous friends get to come along with for the ride; they star in her new fragrance campaign and her 22 music video.

If J.Lo was rude, it was probably right after she heard the ‘I’ve loved you since I was a little girl’ routine. No diva (especially one pushing 40 from the other side) wants to hear that.

Oops, I take that back. I re-read and Swift did not reference her age when the song came out. Never mind. 🙂

You know what I just noticed? Taylor has been single for the majority of the year, right? Golf clap for her. Her dating-everyone-that-moves strategy over the last few years was what annoyed me the most about her, at this point she’s kind of harmless.

    • NerdMomma says:

Ha! She is a great deal more likable as a single gal. Her biggest off-stage moves this year involved eye-rolling Selena’s relationship with Beiber, which I found endearing.

    • Emily says:

She only ever dates people when she has an album to promote.

    • Anna says:

Before Conor Kennedy, she was single for 18 months. So I’m not sure how the ‘serial dater’ rep gathered steam.

Aha. A classic pitch a story and deny it PR routine, to get attention and slyly promote something.

    Swifty vs JLO ??
    My money on JLO.

  6. Hannah says:

    Nice legs, indeed.

  7. NerdMomma says:

It is very true that lots of performers have in their riders that no one should look at them or approach them or talk to them backstage. I used to think that was snobby but I’ve come to see it as probably necessary for a performer to maintain sanity. Perhaps some of Taylor’s friends were miffed that they didn’t get to meet JLo, and privately to her friends Taylor may have been like, “That bitch!”

  8. Ellie says:

Don’t like her, but I am extremely jealous of her legs.

  9. Mar says:

Jlo looks so desperate in those above pics!

How is this Taylor’s fault? #TeamSwifty

  11. S says:

She has Barbie legs! Long, perfectly toned and don’t look like they bend when she walks! At 5’2, I’m more than a little jealous.

  12. Katie says:

I find this hard to believe. I have a cousin who works in the movie industry and he has worked with Jennifer Lopez and says that she’s nothing like the diva persona people try to put on her. That she’s really sweet and respectful.

  13. anna says:

    Someone find me that sweater!!

  14. Samtha says:

She’s the only person I’ve seen so far who actually looks good in those high-waisted shorts. But those shoes–ugh! Those are old lady shoes!

  15. Mandy says:

She does have a crazy bod, but she also has a crazy brain to go with it!

  16. Tara says:

Catfight? Doubt it but if it is true, trust me. There will be a song about it.

  17. nicegirl says:

I must confess my deep, true love for darling Taylor and my fly girl Jlo!

  18. GByeGirl says:

Hate them both. They deserve each other.
