Nicole Ritchie is famous for several reasons. She’s Lionel Ritchie’s daughter. She once was, and perhaps still might be Paris Hilton’s friend, and they starred in a staged reality show together. She drove down the wrong side of the road when she was hopped up on something, thus resulting in one of the better-looking mug shots in recent history. And she got knocked up by Joel Madden, had a cute baby girl that she named Harlow, and lived happily ever after.
That’s all she’s going to be known for, for now. Nicole has brushed aside reports that she was in talks to star in her second reality series – her first being that waste of space show The Simple Life.
Even though Nicole Ritchie shot to fame as Paris Hilton’s sidekick on several seasons of the E! reality hit The Simple Life, it doesn’t look like she’ll be giving reality TV another try anytime soon — in spite of what the tabloids say.
This week, the tabs reported that Nicole, who has settled down from her days of partying with Paris and is now the proud mom to one-year-old daughter Harlow with boyfriend Joel Madden, was set to step in front of the cameras once more.
But a rep for the 27-year-old tells OK! that couldn’t be further from the truth.
According to the rep, reports that Nicole is shopping around a reality show are “unsubstantiated. This is false reporting.”

I worry about Nicole. She seems to have gotten her act together, and she’s settled down to a relatively quiet life of rock star girlfriend and mother. Still, I worry that she and Joel aren’t very happy, and that she needs some kind of income. I’m being over-protective, I know. She recently launched a line of so-so jewelry and… that’s about it. That’s all she’s done in the way of working recently, or perhaps ever. Maybe another reality show wouldn’t be the worst idea. I would actually watch it!

Good for her. She seems to have turned a leaf and is working to be a good person; reality tv is NOT the best place to spotlight that.
Oh, Kaiser. How sweet of you to worry! I think Nicole will be okay, no matter what she does or doesn’t do. She is, after all, Lionel Richie’s daughter, and she’s not, thank heavens, a Paris Hilton.

Seriously though: Good girl, she deserves a pat on the back. She’ll find something that interests her and feel more comfortable acting on that once the baby is older.
As for her marriage, things often get rocky when a baby arrives. I could say given his Christian beliefs he would be additionally motivated to make things work but having said that, he should have put a ring on her finger from the get-go once baby was on the way.
She also had a well-received guest spot on Chuck and I hear her jewelry line is doing well. But you know, Joel’s got some dough of his own and Nicole seems like a very hands-on Mom – she’s still breastfeeding! So I think she’s as busy as she wants to be, you know?
Income? She’s been throwing around Daddy’s money for years, so I’m sure she won’t be visiting the unemployment office any time soon.

She’s also coming out with maternity AND baby clothes! (Or so I’ve heard). Can’t wait to see them.

Elisha, I heard that rumor too, but I haven’t seen anything recently about her fashion line. I did see her jewelry in People mag… I was not impressed. It looked like cheap-o versions of cheap 1970s stuff.
Her boobs look tortured in that dress! Ouch!
Also, I thought she was the funnier/more entertaining one on The Simple Life. Paris was boring and dumb, while Nicole actually got into trouble and was pretty funny. I know it was fake, but I enjoyed watching some episodes.

My first reaction to the headline was: Thank God. Nicole, just do what you’ve been doing…stay out of the spotlight and spend daddy’s and your hack husband’s money. That seems to be working for you. Seriously. We need less people who are famous for being rich.

I actually have respect for Nicole Richie because even though she’s famous for no legitimate reason, she’s really changed as a person and I admire that.
I’ve never liked either one of the Madden brothers, though.
Having a baby and getting clean really changed her appearance. She looks decent now. Kind of pretty I guess. Before she used to remind me of a skinny little rat

Yeah the reports mentioned that she was going to do a show about being a “working mom”…which she is not or has not been in years. The only working she does is the one that requires not eating.

I actually like her. She should be more famous than Paris Hilton. Nicole has more personality, and I can tell that she is actually smart. Her body looks healthier, her baby is soooo cute. I hope we see more of her in the future.
