Renee Zellweger considering adoption, “desperate to start a family” with boyfriend

Renee Zellweger and her boyfriend Doyle Bramhall II seen going to Lancer Dermatology clinic in Los Angeles
Apart from her ill-fated romance with Bradley Cooper, we rarely hear any gossip about Renee Zellweger. I’m not sure if that’s because she stays under the radar, because her career has cooled, or both. So that’s why when a story comes along about Renee, I tend to believe it. There aren’t many gossip outlets making up stories about her, you know?

Renee has been in a relationship with an old college friend, Doyle Bramhall II, for a little over a year. The two didn’t date in college but they are said to have kept running into each other and to have started seeing each other in the summer of 2012. Doyle is two years older than Renee and works as a guitarist for Eric Clapton and a music producer.

It sounds like things are getting serious for Renee and Doyle because they’re said to be considering adoption! There’s a lot of talk in this article about Renee getting up in years, which is realistic, but what about Doyle? I know she’s the famous one, but I wish they would frame this more as a decision they’re making together and less as a last-ditch effort by Renee to be a mom. That sounds a bit biased to me. Here’s more, thanks to Radar Online:

RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that Renee Zellweger is desperate to start family with her boyfriend, Eric Clapton guitarist Doyle Bramhall II.

“She’s considering adopting,” a source close to 44-year-old Zellweger reveals, adding that she has molded her career in recent months to allow herself more time to focus on her personal life.

“She’s been directing and working on her own projects, which has given her more time and flexibility to build her relationship with the right guy,” the source explains. “Hopefully, she’ll get the family she’s always dreamed of having.”

And it’s starting to seem like the perfect time. “Renee’s a true romantic, and she didn’t want to be a single mom,” the source says. “She always wanted to have a partner who is dying to share the adventure of parenthood with her. She really wanted the situation to be perfect — and it seems like it’s getting there.”

Zellweger and Bramhall first met when they were students at the University of Texas Austin in the ’90s. A “catching up” date in the summer of 2012 relit the spark, and the rest is history.

“Renee was ecstatic about finding love again with an old friend,” a source close to Zellweger explains. “She knew Doyle’s a good, solid guy, and she easily imagined starting a family with him.”

So, she threw herself into the relationship. “She followed him to his different gigs around the country this summer like a groupie,” the source says. “She joked that she felt like a teenager again!”

Still, 44-year-old Renee is realistic about her age and what it means for her future as a mom, the source says. “She knows that she probably missed the boat on carrying and giving birth to a child,” the source reveals. “She gets down about not having a family yet. She really thought that she’d be married and raising kids out in the Connecticut countryside by now.”

But she’s not giving up. “Renee tries to find the positive side of things,” the source explains. “She knows 44 isn’t too old to be a mom. It will just have to happen a little differently than she always imagined it would.”

This story reminds me of how Sandra Bullock adopted little Louis three years ago. Of course Sandra was able to keep it quiet until she was ready to make the announcement. That was one of the biggest PR achievements I’ve ever seen, which isn’t to say that’s why Sandra adopted by any means, just that she was able to use it to massive advantage. If this is true, if Renee plans to adopt, I wonder where she’ll adopt from. Will she choose a domestic or international adoption and is she exploring both options? How will she introduce her baby or child to the world? I’m really excited for her and I hope this all works out well. I’ve always had the impression that she’s kind and genuine person, with a lot of love to give to a child.

Renee is on record saying she doesn’t want children. And this is a story coming from Radar. So… Bull.

    • Amanda_M87 says:

People sometimes change their minds when they get older. If she wants a kid, then she should go for it.

    • holly hobby says:

If it’s with the right guy, people sometimes will change their minds.

    • Camille (TheOriginal) says:

Hannah- I agree. I thought she said that too.

Well I suppose time will tell whether this story is true or not won’t it.

  2. Launicaangelina says:

She looks great! Better than she has in years. I like her and hope she’s happy.

  3. Anna says:

Her face and hair look great. Girl looks youthful

    • holly hobby says:

Finally! For some reason, she looked really run down when she was with BCoop. Maybe it is the short hair and greasy face but she looked really bad. She looks good here. Circa Jerry Maguire!

  4. neelyo says:

I miss her. She was very talented and I never understood the virulence of the backlash against her. I don’t think she did either and that’s why she went away.

  5. mercy says:

I’ve always liked her. She used to talk about seeing herself with a large family, but maybe that’s changed. But if she wants kids, I hope she gets them.

  6. Frida_K says:

She looks nice in these pictures–no pinched lemon-face–and he’s attractive. Good for her–I hope they are happy.

    🙂

  7. chloe says:

I’ve always loved Renee, I think after her short lived marriage to that country star she kind of disappeared, plus she has been messing with her face so I think that has hurt her some (her face at the Oscars this past year looked painful), but her face looks better in this pictures. This makes me want to watch Chicago or Cold Mountain now.

  8. davidbowie says:

If he’s so “solid” why did dump his wife and kids to hook up with Sheryl Crow? Run Renee run!!!!

    • Kim1 says:

Really ? so Sheryl hooked up with two married men, this Guy and Lance.I also heard Clapton was in a relationship when she had an affair with him.
As for Renee I don’it think she wants kids also Radaronline is rarely right.

  9. Tia says:

She looks good, young actually. I grew up with her movies and always thought she is a really good actress and i kind of miss her in the movies. She seems a likeable person too so i wish her the best.

  10. poppy says:

seriously, she aspired to live in the connecticut countryside? 🙄
    total BS

  11. eliza says:

I like her. I miss seeing her onscreen more often.

  12. janie says:

Good luck with whatever you decide! She’s a great gal!

  13. Aria says:

Has she retired from acting? I miss her so much.

  14. snappyfish says:

she looks better than she has in a while; a little heavier and laying off the botox, maybe? I like renee and hope she’ll come back to acting soon.

    • Anna-fo-Fanna says:

I actually hope she doesn’t. I mean, I would love to see her back, but she seems so much less brittle now, and I think it’s probably better for her to just lay low.

  15. littlestar says:

I’ve always liked her too. I agree that she seems like a nice and genuine person. I’ve never read anything bad about her either and I really felt bad for her after that sham of a marriage to that country singer fell apart (I think she was truly in love with him and he’s a douche). I would love to see her do some more movies, if that is what she wants.

    • holly hobby says:

I’ve read reports that she wanted children after she married Kenny Chesney and when he didn’t she immediately filed for divorce.

I don’t know if that’s true but I don’t respect Kenny after the number he did on her.

      • Bridget says:

Those two have remained steadfast in not saying what actually happened between the 2 of them, so it’s all just rumor.

People forget the list of men that Renee dated, and many of them: Clooney, Carrey, Cooper – have no interest in having kids. I’m just going to guess that her not having kids is more of a choice than circumstances not working out.

  16. JenniferJustice says:

sorry, but you don’t bring a child into a relationship that has barely made the one-year mark. I find it really selfish how female celes adopt because “they want one.” Think about your track record and your own stability. They marry and divorce at warp speed. Is it good for the child or just good for the female celeb?

Pickle Puss, please go the DIY route and not purchase a fashion accessory.

  18. SAHARA CHAN says:

Wonderful actress, bad choice in men!
