Jennifer Lawrence couldn’t hide her geek girl tendencies on the Catching Fire red carpet of the Rome film festival. Look at how excited she is! Try and tell me she’s faking that persona. Impossible. I will admit that JLaw has been impersonating a Dior girl for the better part of a year. Like many of you, I long for a future style marriage between Jennifer and Calvin Klein. We’re getting the Dior version of JLaw again in Rome, and it’s not awful. I can’t tell if this dress is a pale yellow or a vanilla color. The lighting is a bit off, but I’m gonna go with yellow.
This gown is very artfully constructed and not as cheap looking as many other recent Dior dresses. The wrap-around bodice and hem are eye-catching, but the big gray spot is strange. JLaw’s new hair is very much growing on me. When she wears it all swept back, I can pretend it’s an updo. Jennifer does well at avoiding too many accessories and lets her dresses do the talking. E! Online published a story calling JLaw “one of the most fashionable starlets in Hollywood.” Jennifer does not agree: “I really would not call myself a fashion icon. I would call myself somebody who gets dressed by professionals.” Atta girl. Let’s go in for a closeup or two.

Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson were both quite gallant and dashing in their suits. I’d still take Josh over the lesser Hemsworth any day.

Indeed…when I think “side-boob” I think either large, sloppy udders (a la The Cracken) or something vulgar, either the bony ribs of a try-hard model or the inflated silicone of a Stodden. Jennifer Lawrence has a lovely body with normal-looking breasts and she dresses nicely for the most part. I just don’t associate the word “side-boob” with her. If I think twice, she is actually bustiferous though, and y’all are correct.
well she looks like a full c and she’s what a 4-6uS so she’s pretty thin, so yes id say JL is pretty busty for her weight. she also has a small back/band size (i think?) so a 32c isn’t going to look as big as 36c.
Oh…yes she is. Take a look at some of the photos of Lawrence last year in that green dress (not sure of the i.d…CK?) but it’s a plunging neckline and Lawrence shows amazing bubbage. Oh, and that Vogue shot where she’s wearing that bathing suit and leather jacket…lying a wheatfield and it’s really amazing.

I’m loving her hair more and more. Yellow dress is beautiful except for gray spot, which I tried to clean off my ipad screen until I realized it was part of the dress. I don’t think the side-b is a big deal except it looks like sloppy tailoring, which shouldn’t happen.

I don’t think it’s her fault, she is tied to Dior for better or for worse. I think she looks really great considering she’s constrained a lot by her contract. I think I’m in the minority but her I love her hair and think it’s just the right length.
Yeah, but she tied herself to Dior. Her hair is ‘fine’ but I like it better in the tousled style. I think the issue for me, really, is Dior’s silhouettes haven’t changed much since the 50’s and Jennifer is a hot warrior woman, not Audrey Hepburn (who could wear the hell out of a Dior).

People overreact to stars who say stuff like that or flip the bird (Jen’s done it a few times too) imo. It’s a bit RME, but it’s not something to get all huffy about. Now, when someone gets physical with a pap like Kanye at LAX then I get it…..That said, there are certain celebs like Miley, KStew, AnneE who every little misstep will be blown up which was the case with KStew telling some pap who was harassing her in Paris that he would freeze to death out there in a snarky tone…she’s not the brightest bulb, and was most likely referencing the fact that it was very cold..but it was an unseasonably cold winter in Europe and some people had died, and so some commenters decided that she was being literal and referencing that…when it more likely she had no clue about that bit of world news.
I think there’s a difference if you say to people in their face “Freeze to death!” or if you make a joke by saying about them to another person you’d prepare a coffee with antifreeze for them. Kristen obviously didn’t joke, Jennifer obviously did.
Yeah, her comment wasn’t a joke and it was way stupider but it was cray how some people took it as if she was seriously and literally wishing death upon a pap (and trying to randomly connect it people who froze to death in real life) and not using a common figure of speech as a sarcastic, nasty remark. Some people say stupid things and some commenters act like a stupid comment is way, way worse than it actually is imo. Happens all the time on here in reference to AnnE and others.

Things are read into way too much and taken out of context on celeb news blogs. I think it’s because these events/situations/statements are simplified and blown out of proportion for the purpose of a story and we don’t get the “real life” context of it, so we as spectators are able to nitpick and judge it as an isolated incident with no perspective or understanding of reality of it. Every stupid comment or stupid action determines the character of the celebrity. People are so quick to blow things up IMO
Because JLaw is funny, likeable, articulate and does her PR job anyway. Where as KStew is a sullen, self absorbed, small talent that has disdain for her own franchise.

Wow!….Loving this gown, Lawrence looks gorgeous. The sideboob situation is fine, harmless really and I love the dress (I’ve always loved black and yellow together). Lawrence, Hutcherson and Hemsworth seem to be having a blast together….it’s lovely to watch.
Don’t thimk the boob is a big deal. It’s like nothing and covered up in front to “compensate”

She looks beautiful here but…:she also doesn’t look any curvier than any normal red carpet starlet. So I remain perplexed why we keep talking about her weight when there is nothing about her appearance that doesn’t match the culturally accepted standard of beauty. She is white, blond, thin, tall and has a chest. She’s lovely but not groundbreaking. And she looks very thin here.

i think one critic (NYT) said she was too fleshy for the hunger games and we’ve been hearing about it ever since. I’m over it.
She seems pretty over it as well. Honestly, I don’t rememeber seeing other two movie leads receive as much body criticism and Jen & Josh do. “He’s too short”, “she’s too curvy/fleshy/fat”, and so on. It’s annoying.
That’s what I’ve been saying – Jen looks great, thin without being underweight, muscular, nice boobies, cute face – I think she’s just soliciting complements and trying to say what will make her popular to be honest. The media generally only give women a hard time who have bodies that fall outside society’s accepted health/beauty standard and would be deemed overweight or too thin by most people on a site like Celebitchy (note that there are some people whose bodies are actually healthiest when at a weight outside that standard, they are the ones who have it tough.)
Well, she did say in an interview that in couple of films her producers or the director has told she had to lose weight. I think she has a great body but a lot of X-men fanboys and some Hunger Games fans complain she’s too fat. It’s probably the same groups of people who whined Shailene Woodley was too ugly for MJ.
Jennifer looks great. She looks like an individual, not the fem-bot by-product of plastic surgeons and hair people.
She looks lovely here, and I think these are the best looks so far. The hair looks cute and is growing on me. That said, I’m one of the many commenters who have said Jennifer would have been way better suited to Calvin Klein than Dior. She looks way more comfortable and chic in more minimalist dresses in my opinion. On the other hand, she always looks a tad uncomfortable or awkward in these Dior numbers. The red Calvin dress she wore to the first Oscars and the silver Calvin dress she wore to the Oscar after party made her look fresh, sexy, and athletic. When I see her in these Dior dresses, I think pretty but “farm girl being quasi-elegant.”

Dior is probably a three year contract. I wonder if Jennifer will leave and not renew her contract. It’s so strange, because I usually see Dior as making the wearer seem more elegant…and it is the opposite with Jennifer…I find her much more natural and chic and elegant in Calvin Klein or basically any other designer but Marchesa and Dior.

Why would his height hold him back? There are tons of short actors in Hwood.
I was under the impression that Josh was after the mainstream popcorn fare roles. For those type of roles, I thought the Renners and the Cruises were the exception and that they tried to go more for the tall and built rather than 5’6. Basically, the type of roles where the physical is often more counted than the actual talent.
I don’t think his height holds him back. He may have his insecurities, just like everybody else, but overall he seems really comfortable in his body, and like he doesn’t mind being shorter than Jen, or any of his taller costars for that matter. Besides, he just oozes charm. Heck, he’s the male lead of the franchise! However, I do think he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
Completely agree! But early critics are praising his performance in this film, so hopefully he starts getting more recognition for his work as Peeta.

Jennifer looks lovely, as she does most of the time. The side boob is not at all a big deal. I really like that dress in fact, it is a great LBD with some color pop. I do have to say, I do not get the Josh Hutcherson thing…at all. I mean, he isn’t fugly or anything….but he also isn’t cute, definitely not hot. He is just meh. He is TOO boyish. Some, like JGL can pull off boyish/babyface while still exuding some sexiness….Hutcherson has zero sexy. I don’t really care about either Hemsworth, but I would have to pick Liam over Josh, for accent & looks alone.

I dunno, but “starlet” seems a little belittling for actress who has a Best Actress Oscar under her heart. A starlet would be someone like, say, Chole Moretz. Anyway, I think she looks beautiful here. I really like her new hair, although in the first photos I saw it looked like Kate Gosselin had possessed her soul, which was a little scary. It’s a versatile haircut. I wish I could pull that off, but without my super-long hair I look awful.

Lawl’ing at the angle on Josh here, which makes him look no bigger than waist-high. I think he’s attractive, and adaptable in a way that might have more career legs than Liam, but is it so hard to get a flattering picture of him? I seem to remember some pictures from after a big event (Academy Awards?) earlier this year — he was relaxed and VERY cute. Maybe he’s too tense at the formal events.
