I hate the Razzies. Yes there are some films like Grown Ups which should be there. But there are certain actors they always hate on even if they aren’t bad. Or they like to punish actors for being in a crappy film, even if they were not the worst thing about it. I havent seen Movie 43, but I doubt Naomi Watts was one of the worst things about it. They just want to be “edgy” because she was nominated for an Oscar.

    • Lexie says:

Is it meant to be taken so seriously though?
It seems to have so much shelf life over the years, because actors take themselves so damn seriously.

    • Brown Eyed Girl says:

movie 43 is horrible. its on netflix. my husband (who loves stupid movies) only got through 20 minutes before he turned it off. i lasted until hugh jackman’s scrotum chin skit.

    • FLORC says:

      I’ve seen Movie 43.
Halle and Naomi are probably the 2 actresses that had the longest segments. Halle absolutely deserves it. She wasn’t good at all. Naomi however worked with what she was given and did make me believe her character. This was terrible given what her character and her husband were.
And the Razzies are great. It’s a moment to show you don’t take being an actor so seriously and the fall out that comes with bad movies. Sandra Bullock actually attended when she was nominated for All About Steve. She had fun with it. Not to mention Most of the actors involved with Movie 43 tried to back out of it. They knew it was awful.
All that said, I pushed through the whole movie and it wasn’t terrible. The first and last shorts were terrible, but as a whole i’ve seen worse.

      • linlin says:

Halle Berry also was a great sport a few years ago! Yes, sometimes it might be a little bit unfair when an actor did the best he or she could but the movie is so bad in general, but they aren’t meant to be taken seriously and in a way with people like Naomi Watts it’s more “what were you thinking agreeing to do this movie” then “why is your acting so bad”.

I was left spechless when Sandra Bullock won the Razzie and the Oscar within days. How stupid is that?

    • lunchcoma says:

It’s not as if she won the awards for the same movie. It’s entirely possible for an actor to do excellent work in a quality film and then completely miss the mark in a terrible one. I’ve actually been unfortunate enough to see All About Steve, and it deserved all of the “accolades” it received.

      • TG says:

I really liked All About Steve. I thought Sandra was adorable in that movie. Oh well we all have different tastes.

  3. Green Is Good says:

The Razzies poke fun at Hollywood. Sandra Bullock and Halle Berry both showed up to pick up their Razzies, and had fun doing it. Good for them!

  4. jane16 says:

God, I love the Razzies! They’re so funny…and true! Like the Onion or SNL. Any actor with an ounce of humility would be a good sport about it. They all know if their movie was crap or not.

  5. Zwella Ingrid says:

I loved the Lone Ranger. So there.

    • Happy21 says:

I didn’t see it and don’t care to but I have heard of more people I know LIKING it than DISLIKING it…That, to me, proves it’s all about personal taste/preference đŸ™‚

    • Andrew1 says:

I couldn’t stand it, but I understand how some people would like it. To be fair, it’s razzing noms are for worst ripoff and director and the such. I DO think it’s wrong that Depo got nominated. He was much better than I thought he’d be in it, and was the only good part of it.

    • FLORC says:

It was my in flight movie. It wasn’t awful, but not great. And certainly long enough for a coast to coast flight. I give it a big “meh”.
I hope Depp goes to the Razzies with Heard. That would be a good pr move.

    • Josephine says:

I wouldn’t say that I loved it, but there were parts that I really enjoyed. To me, the director couldn’t decide if it was a comedy or drama, and it felt like two different movies. That being said, I thought it was just fine. I think people have enjoyed hating Depp lately, and that movie was an easy target. I think the Razzies are mostly innocent fun — it’s the comments here that become so vitriolic.

      • Maria says:

Here’s a little FYI: the studio took the film away from the director and recut it, so one wonders what it would have been like as originally planned?

  6. lucy2 says:

I like when actors have a sense of humor about themselves and graciously accept their Razzie.

Where did Lainey get the idea that Justified was going to be 7 seasons? I’ve been following the show closely since between seasons 1 and 2 airing, and I’ve always seen it expected to be 6 seasons. Kills me that more people aren’t watching it though, but if FX is committed to it to the end, who cares. It’s awesome and the few who do watch love it dearly.

    • Josephine says:

Totally agree on Justified! It’s so smart and the entire cast is fabulous. I do miss the evil Mags, though — there is just no villain as bad as her!

  7. Jh says:

Yeah…Ashlee Simpson’s ring does resemble a vagina. That is all.

  8. Tiffany :) says:

Joel McHale summed up Beibs perfectly!

  9. cool says:

The critics were incredibly unfair with The Lone Ranger!I saw it and really liked it and everyone I know who saw it loved it as well despite not being big Johnny Depp fans.It was a fun summer movie. It shouldn’t have been nominated and nor should Johnny. The people are unreasonably harsh with him lately and I kind of feel sorry for him.I hope this is a better year for him.As for him and Amber getting engaged I say if they are happy together(because it looks like they are)why not? It’s their life anyway.

  10. C.H. says:

I saw both Ironman 3 and The Lone Ranger. Thought Ironman 3 was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I loved Lone Ranger. I don’t get all the hate. It was better than most of the movies I saw in 2013.

  11. Ayush says:

I don’t know why but lone ranger disappointed me. He has done better work.
