She’s that far along, I think. They didn’t announce until super late because, if I remember correctly, they lost a baby pretty late in the pregnancy before.

I was hoping for a girl. I was hoping? Like it’s my child but you know what I mean. Her kids are adorable. I was just thinking it would have been nice to see a little girl in the likeness of Gwen.

I can’t stand that she used to bleach her son’s hair. That’s a shallow sentiment, but it’s icky, in my opinion. I don’t believe in bleaching a daughter’s hair, either.
Definitely. I couldn’t imagine not having a daughter. My friend is very girly and fashion oriented and she had three boys. It was hard initially when she found out the third one was a boy. She adjusted quickly and loves him dearly. She always says if she thought the fourth would be a girl she would have another baby down the road, but she knows it would probably be a boy. Plus, financially it would just be too much of a strain for the family. She was one of three girls and all were so close and so girly and she loves her memories as a child with her sisters and her mom. It never occurred to her she wouldn’t have a daughter. My mother had three boys before she had two daughters, but back then you had larger families in the South.
Gwen Stefani might be very fashion-oriented and girly in some aspects but for the last 25 year she’s been in band where she’s been the only girl among a bunch of male band members and roadies. She’s probably very used to testosterone fueled environments and has probably often been “one of the boys” herself so she should manage fine. Main thing is that she and the baby are healthy!
I was hoping for a girl too lol, I think in my mind she would come out an exact replica of Gwen, tiny and blonde. In reality Gwen’s genetics are much different then she actually looks lol. I too was hoping for a girl when I was preggo with my son, I even cried when they told me they saw a boy in the sono. But alas, I recovered pretty quickly and now couldn’t be happier with my healthy , gruff voiced, rambunctious 6 mo old, who I can’t wait to play dress up with!
Healthy is the most important thing, by a mile, of course.
Those few people who actually don’t get over their wish to have a boy/girl, and resent the kid for not being the gender they wanted, ought to get some perspective on life.

@Elizabeth: Zuma is an actual name. It’s Aztec, or Nahuatl, and means “Lord frowns in anger”.
Names may sound odd and be unfamiliar, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t real names that have real meanings that come from real places, languages, and cultures.
If a name sounds odd and like it’s not real, Google the meaning of it. You’ll find that usually the only difference between common names and uncommon names is how often you hear them.

I should also add that there are other meanings and origins for the name Zuma. The example I gave is just one of them.
Zuma sounds like a bar. I think that’s because we did have a bar around here called Zuma once when I was in college.

The standoff of their pale blonde beauty (just saying, that’s what the book intended), with young Cathy being so much smarter than her stunningly beautiful mom. And I loved that they kept the original ending from the book (SPOILER ALERT: The original movie completely changed the ending to make it more satisfying but ruled out doing a sequel). Can’t wait for Petals on the Wind!
