Cover of OK!: Angelina’s baby diet

okmagazine_babydiet
The upcoming cover of OK! Magazine features a photo of Angelina Jolie in that tight gray cap sleeve dress she wore to her Changeling press conference in Japan last week. Instead of suggesting that Angelina is pregnant because her stomach isn’t concave, OK! takes a more honest route and focuses on her “Baby Diet.” They don’t even use a misleading bait and switch headline that might lead people to believe she’s pregnant again until they buy the magazine and read the article. Text on the cover clearly says that she’s eating well and seeing her doctor in an effort to conceive again.

In fact, OK! has learned exclusively that Angie, 33, is hoping to be pregnant with baby number seven by summertime.

“Angie is doing everything she can to get pregnant,” a source close to the actress tells OK!. “She’s taking prenatal vitamins, has dramatically cut down on her junk-food consumption, and is seeing her obstetrician regularly whenever she’s back in L.A.”

As OK! previously reported, doctors advised Angie not to conceive for at least a year following the July 12 birth of Knox and Vivienne. But the anxious actress is wasting no
time in making sure the pregnancy happens right on schedule – or even before.

“Her goal is to be pregnant by the time Knox and Viv have their first birthday,” reveals the source. “Angie is one of those people who always manages to achieve whatever she wants.”

And in this case, that’s baby #7!

[From OK! Magazine]

I like OK! Magazine, and they don’t resort to cheap tactics to move copies. Angelina Jolie sells magazines, but OK! is being upfront with their readers and just says she’s hoping to get pregnant again. That’s controversial enough considering that she has six children under the age of eight, just like the octuplet mom before she got pregnant with a record-setting number of babies. Angelina already has twins and presumably isn’t having multiples again on purpose, though, so what’s the problem? She has enough resources to deal with her children and she also has a devoted partner. If she wants more children to give a loving home to that’s up to her and Brad.

  1. Baholicious says:

If she weren’t who she is, people would regard her baby-making/acquiring efforts with the same disdain as the woman who just had the octuplets.

They’re just two different pages from the same book of spun.

  2. Kaiser says:

I think it’s the same old tabloid bs, CB. It’s the idea that there’s something “wrong” with her physically, that she and Brad have to resort to something other than hot sex to conceive their babies. Baby diet, my ass.

  3. Abby says:

Whatever. I doubt she’s going to conceive again so quickly. My bet is that they’ll adopt an African girl for Zahara. They talk a lot about keeping things “evened” up. Pax and Maddox, the twins and Shiloh, and now a sister for Zahara to relate with culturally. I’m butchering the explanation, but she’s mentioned it in the past a few times.

  4. Tia says:

It is her life and she takes wonderful care of the children and so does Brad.. I am happy for them.. they are great people it seems and it is their life.. nobody elses.. geesshhh

  5. geronimo says:

Please, this is just made up. OK! in its own rose coloured ‘pleasant news only’ way is just as ridiculous as Star and all the rest of them. No source close to the actress is telling them anything, they know it, we know it, it’s just tabloid fun and games.

That’s not to say she won’t get pregnant again before the year’s out.

  6. dr.grrl says:

    hey baho,

i like your gravatar in color! very vibrant! was that from the same shot (or photo shoot) as your black and white pic?

  7. Celebitchy says:

Maybe you guys are right, and I’m getting fooled by OK!’s friendly face. I can be gullible like that and I never thought of it like that, Kaiser. To me it’s also similar to those fitness and diet covers in that there are people with fertility problems who may buy it trying to get Angelina’s supposed diet, which could be totally fabricated as you mentioned Geronimo.

  8. lunachick says:

Angelina is NOT “just like that that octuplet mom” in any sense…please, don’t give that disgusting California woman who’s addicted to pumping out babies (as opposed to loving and caring for children) any more press.

Having children is probably the most important responsibility you’ll ever take on. Angelina and Brad give their children a loving home, and they obviously have the material resources needed to support as many biological or adopted children they choose to take in.

That woman in CA clearly cares nothing for her children…if she did, she’d make sure they had a stable home and that she could support them. Instead she palms her responsibilities off on her parents and the taxpayers of California, and tries to cash in with Oprah. Gross!

  9. meme says:

I think Mangie is jelluz (Brangelooniespeak:-) of the Duggar family and that octuplet mom.

  10. who cares? says:

why can’t this be kept private?
why do we have to hear about every little thing these 2 do?

plus having a pile of kids is NOT FAIR to the kids — how can you divide your time and love so many ways and still work as much as these 2 do? IT’S SELFISH — NOT LOVING.

  11. geronimo says:

You know what I think they do; find a pic of AJ and then just build a story around it. No one’s going to contradict it because it’s not offensive but it’s provocative enough at the same time to get people’s juices flowing and bring out the OMGs in those who are permanently on the brink of an OMG as far as AJ’s concerned. All fun and games!

  12. Lizbeth says:

Hmmm…that would be sad if OK were trying to sell an Angelina baby diet — I didn’t read it that way, just that she was trying to maintain a healthy weight, which she has had issues with in the past, in an effort to get pregnant.

And the problem with that is that she’s one person and she’s already a mother to six children, all of whom presumably want to bond with her and will continue to want her time and focus. Just because she can afford to hand off her kids to a nanny doesn’t mean that she should.

I’m not trying to be harsh but there’s a point at which the desire to add more to the brood is unfair to your children, those you already have and those you will have. Every time the media features one of these families with umpteen children, I wonder about their lives when the cameras aren’t around.

  13. bite me says:

hmmm isn’t this the same ok magazine that claimed doctors told Aj can not have any more bio children, like others have said at least the goverment isn’t paying for their babies

  14. Kaiser says:

Geronimo, CB – There’s also the “Soylent Green” element to the cover. Like Angie’s “baby diet” is that she eats babies. It was actually the first thing I thought of. lol

  15. Sauronsarmy says:

    People actually buy this junk?

  16. Baholicious says:

Thanks Dr. Grrl: It’s from a different shoot of Nina Hagen who is a renowned vocalist. She’s amazingly photogenic too, isn’t she?

  17. McKenna says:

Seriously? Ok is trash. The only one of these “magazines” that ever gets anything right is US Weekly. The rest are all made up. Hasn’t OK reported about 30 times that Brad and Angelina are about to break up? and the next week they’re getting married…so ridiculous. I can’t believe there are still people out there who pay for this junk.

  18. Raeann says:

God I wish they would get a reality TV show.

  19. oomba says:

Starvation is not conducive to conception. Perhaps that’s why Angelina has used in vitro to conceive. I don’t know, of course, but so many Hollywood actresses seem to be infertile.

  20. Annie says:

We’re not sure she’s actually starving herself, there are some people who eat and eat and eat and never gain any weight.

I have a friend….skinny as all get out, I’m talking teeny 5’2 El Savadorian girl who’s like…MAX 100 lbs. But she eats like you wouldn’t BELIEVE.

And yea, screw that stupid woman in CA. She’s selfish. She should focus on raising her OTHER SIX CHILDREN UNDER 10. Instead of going off and having EIGHT implanted into her.

  21. Ned says:

“a sister for Zahara to relate with culturally”

Zahara and all the children have the same culture- they are raised together as children to American parents.
Their culture is American, just as any other adopted child who is raised by parents from a different country.

The idea of “collecting” a child for the needs of another child is, with the lack of a better word- sick.

Children are not toys you acquire for the welfare and pleasure of a child.

Zahara was supposed to be raised to see all her siblings as her siblings and to be color blind.
She doesn’t need a “special” kind of sibling in order to relate to him/ her.

What these children do need, is friends and social regular activities.
Most children get that in school, and additional extra-curricular activities.

Some children that are home schooled get their social skills and stable social and emotional development by taking a class at a community center or some other sort of regular gathering of them with other children.

  22. Ned says:

It’s no wonder Maddox resorts to collecting knives and obsessing over wars instead of going to school and having friends.

He is locked up in hotels and rented mansions, being dragged from one place to another with no sense of school, routines, friends, positive hobbies (as opposed to knives and violence).

The answer is not collecting and having more children.
The answer is actually investing time and effort in raising and meeting the developmental needs.

  23. JK says:

    Um. She
had twins.. It gonna take quite some time for a super flat stomach to reappear without a tuck!

  24. eve says:

Narcissism takes on new meaning with these 2 bozos.

  25. Annie says:

Also, I’d like to note that Cambodia is NOT Vietnam. And while they may both come from the GIANT CONTINENT of ASIA (note, it’s a CONTINENT everyone.)

It is NOT the same country. The people are not the same, the language is the not the same, the culture is not the same, the FOOD is not the same.

    Get my point? 🙂

I can’t believe I’m typing this but I um, *gulp* actually agree with Ned!!! in this case. I love Angie but that whole ‘balance out the faces’ comment never sat well with me.

Ned you are capable of making sense, too bad your unreasoning hatred of AJ keeps you from getting your points across effectively.

  27. dr.grrl says:

    @ Baho,

she is gorgeous! i did have to google her though! (i thought the pic was you).

very interesting bio she has. i can see why you chose her pic, a strong woman for a strong poster! 🙂

    are you in germany too?

First of all, I love the people who come on and criticize Brangelina for an article that they clearly had no part in. Second of all, to the two who disdain their desire to have a racial balance in their home: We may all be from the same country but our experiences are quite different and it is a positive thing for Zahara to have someone in her family that looks like her. We don’t live in a color blind society and I am glad that the Jolie-Pitts understand this and I’m sure that most adoption agencies that handle transracial adoptions feel the same way.

  29. Chiara says:

I’d certainly agree with Ned’s contributions. I know a woman who homeschools 4 children, and spent two days with her during our CA fires. We had an op to talk, and I to observe. Her children are, “socially integrated,” into their community 3 days per week, with other parents homeschooling.

Jolie has admitted repeatedly how insecure she feels … and it’s my opinion her children are a means to fulfill, “her,” need. She will say, “o
Oh, my children love to travel, love to, etc.” I’ve never heard her say, “I’m doing this because it’s healthy parenting.”

  30. Baholicious says:

    I’m in Toronto Canada 🙂

  31. Tatiana says:

I went on for three paragraphs before I realized No. 28 said it perfectly. You people should read it again. Here:

    —-

And those agencies sure do feel that way. And I am also glad the Jolie-Pitts are not letting their colorblindness render them completely blind.

Oh, and for the record, Brad and Angelina were planning on adopting more children anyway; they aren’t doing so JUST to ‘balance out the races’ as we’ve been putting it, they simply take that into consideration.

There are so many reasons to hate on someone–must people hate on those who are trying to do the right thing?? You don’t have to like them, you don’t have to like how they got together, but come on, it’s quite obvious that they truly love those kids.

  32. cheetahstripes says:

I have to admit those gossip rags are great fun to read but half that stuff never comes pass.

As long as the JA/her latest date and “Brangelina” continue to sell issues they’ll keep on writing (even if the stories aren’t the real deal).

And yes, sometimes I buy them! 🙂

  33. n says:

if you have ever grown up in a large family, you know that 2 parents with 6, 8, 10 kids equals PROBLEMS WITH KIDS GETTING A AAIR SHARE OF ATTENTION AND LOVE. just can’t be done. i know. i grew up in a large family.

Someone stop these 2 idiots. They shouldn’t be able to adopt just because they have the money and the power.

  34. ChristinaX says:

Yeah, they really put a nice spin on the front cover, didn’t they?

I figured it was going to be about losing baby weight when I saw it.

    Blah.

OT: Baholicious, I’m also a fan of Nina Hagen.

  35. Jane says:

Stop being a kiss ass K.

  36. sissoucat says:

Have you ever read about the kids that Josephine Baker kept adopting ? They are adults now, and have a mixed point of view on their upbringing.

They weren’t travelling with her though. They were raised somewhere in France and shown to media on occasions. Didn’t see her that much, raised by nannies. Still, most of them say she was a wonderful mother and have fond memories of her.

  37. czarina says:

I think the experiences of a large family are really individual. My grandmother came from a big family and my great-Aunt (my grandmother’s sister) was the oldest (of 12) and WAS very resentful because they lived on a farm and she ended up responsible for all her siblings the majority of the time. My grandmother loved it–loved having brothers and sisters to be with and feel close to.
I’m just pointing out that family dynamics can be very individual and its not accurate to say that parents of large families can NEVER have enough time or attention for the kids, or that the kids will ALWAYS grow up feeling that way.

On the other hand, I think this story in OK is utter nonesense.

Even if they are planning to adopt again, I imagine they would wait until the babies are older before introducing a new child to the household…when you have babies, they take a lot of time and energy, and I certainly hope Brad and Angelina are sensible enough (and compassinate enough) to give all of them time before introducing another child.

  38. Goddess711 says:

AJ is mentally unstable. Pumping out and adopting kids is how she’s getting her attention fix. What happens when there isn’t a farm big enough for all the kids she wants to blackmail Dawg Pitt with? What about when child services steps in and says “y’know what? enough already!” Everybody needs to step back and seriously take a look at this situation. Is each child getting the parental love (and puhleasssse don’t say “just look at the pictures in Peope Mag!)that a kid should have? Just because they have money right now doesn’t make them adequate parents. One scandal and the only headlines they’ll be making is on fish & chip boxes.
They suck as human beings with their open lack of integrity in relationships; something tells me the emotional immaturity of these two can’t make for good parenting. She needs to start thinking with The Big Head.

  39. DD says:

hey it’s a flaky article on a flaky gossip rag designed to get people all flared up because we know the brange just had twins and love talking about adding more children to the family.
Don’t take it as fact. They haven’t gone to the extremes some of you are so worried about so relax.

  40. Anon says:

    Goddess711: AJ is mentally unstable.
    ———————————-
and you should know, takes one to know one

  41. Jenfraud says:

Goddess711: Let’s see you do some charity saving dying kids like the Jolie-Pitts and then we talk. Didn’t think so, you are just like that baby-hating, lip-service-only, FRAUD Aniston whom Brad tossed out of his life. Well done, Brad!

  42. Anon says:

Angelina was in Thailand yesterday 2/5 speaking out for refugees there(attention seeking to her detractors) LOL so while haters say vile things about her, she is busy helping people who probably don’t care who helps them as they are in real oppressive situations that don’t afford them the leisure to focus on demonizing Angelina Jolie or anyone else.

  43. Anonymous says:

God bless the JP’s. They have so much love to share and are truly unselfish. Is Jenhag capable of being unselfish?

  44. Maritza says:

Angelina is making sure Brad won’t ever want to leave by having even more kids. He loves those kids and I doubt he would ever leave her, it doesn’t mean he will forever be faithful to her…
