People: Kate Hudson & Matt Bellamy ‘have been on the rocks for some time’

FFN_RIJ_BVLGARI_PARTY_022514_51339769

Here are some photos of Kate Hudson at last night’s “Bulgari Celebrates 130 Years” event in West Hollywood. Kate looks pretty here, although I’m not a fan of this hairstyle for her. I was debating back and forth whether these photos deserved a post, or whether we should even talk about Kate, but then I saw a suspicious story on People Mag about her. For the record, there was a tabloid story last week (I think) about Kate and Matt Bellamy and how they were having problems. Kate denied the story. And now this was in People:

They had a whirlwind courtship, welcomed a baby and got engaged in a little over a year. But it seems wedding plans for Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy are on hold for now.

“Kate and Matt have been on the rocks for some time,” a source close to Hudson tells PEOPLE in the magazine’s new issue. “They’re not in a great place.”

In December, the couple and their 2½-year-old son, Bingham, were together in Australia, where Bellamy’s band, Muse, was playing. They spent Christmas in the U.K. with Bellamy’s family, skipping Hudson’s mom Goldie Hawn’s annual Christmas getaway in Aspen.

Since then, Hudson has been seen out with family and friends – but not Bellamy – in L.A., New York and at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where she promoted her film Wish I Was Here.

On Tuesday night, Hudson showed up solo at Bulgari’s Decades of Glamour bash at L.A.’s Soho House, where she was spotted without her 9-carat engagement ring.

Despite this, the source says the couple “are still living together. Kate is not giving up.”

Reps for the pair did not comment for this story.

Hudson, 34, and Bellamy, 35, met in April 2010 at the Coachella Music Festival in California. Hudson told InStyle in 2011, “Matthew was polite and immediately protective, which for somebody like me who’s all over the place – one minute I’m over here and the next I’m over there – is important.”

She continued: “I wanted to talk to him and be with him all the time. On our first dates we would take long walks and talk the entire day.”

In April 2011, the couple got engaged, and that July, they welcomed son Bingham. (Hudson also has a 10-year-old son, Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes.) Since then, the couple have split their time between California and London, where Hudson purchased a home in 2012, and last summer shot her upcoming film Good People.

When asked in January about wedding planning, Hudson told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan: “No, I’m planning nothing right now. I’m so busy, we’ve been so busy, and it’s been great. I come from an unconventional family – my parents aren’t married. So there’s a part of me that goes, ‘If I’m going to do it, I’m going to do it right’ … So, no. Not anytime soon, no.”

[From People]

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate and Matt were having problems, but I’m mostly surprised that they’ve managed to work for as long as they have. Usually Kate goes through men a lot faster. Don’t hate the player, hate the game! Anyway, Kate is scheduled to present at the Oscars, so we’ll see if Matt is on her arm.

I’m also including some photos of some of ther people at this Bulgari event. Photos of: Camilla Belle, Jeremy Renner, Naomi Watts, Emmy Rossum, Olivia Munn and Ashley Greene. Man, there was some bad styling at this event.

Kate Hudson looks so different, I would have never known it was her had it not been in the headline.

    • emmie_a says:

Her face looks super tight. She looks good but yes, different.

      I’m loving Naomi’s entire look.

    • Decloo says:

She looks very pulled. She didn’t always have cat eyes like that did she?

      • Jedi says:

I think it may be the way they did her makeup?? i hope, otherwise that is some pretty crappy work, especially since shes only in her 30s.

      • AG-UK says:

exactly and she isn’t even that old. What’s wrong with these people. She always irritated me for some reason, but her face looks strange now.

      • emmie_a says:

It’s not just her eyes – her entire face is pulled back (and it’s not from her hair because her hair isn’t pulled that tight). I was just looking at other pics from this event and I’m beginning to think she did have some work done. Following in her mom’s footsteps I guess.

      • lunchcoma says:

A facelift, maybe? She’s so young, and having such tight skin in that area adds a decade. It’s a shame she thought that would be a good idea.

      • mercy says:

Maybe she did have a forehead lift to prevent eyelid droop and the heavy eye makeup is a cover. It would explain the unflattering makeup!

    • mercy says:

She had her nose done early on (good work!) and she’s been botoxing for awhile, but I’m not sure about anything else. I think it’s the eye makup and the natural fat loss from the face that happens over time.

    • Senaber says:

      She looks like LeAnn Rimes.

  2. HappyMom says:

Wasn’t there a blind about her a while ago? They got pregnant within a few months of dating-so I’m actually surprised they’ve made it this long. If People is saying they’re having problems it just means they’ve been over for a while.

    • lunchcoma says:

Agreed. That usually translates as the couple having been separated for several months, and a couple months more away from announcing that things are over.

    • SonjaMarmeladova says:

Too bad, I really like those two together.
Olivia Munn looked he best out of the people here.

  3. bns says:

I knew it. I guessed they would last 3-4 years when they started dating.

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

+1 in France,we say “the passion lasts 3 years”

      • Malificent says:

In English, we refer to the “7-year itch” to move on. I think 3 years is a lot more on target!

      • magpie says:

They say that 3 years is when the pheromones die off or something like that and the real compatibility shows.

    • mercy says:

That sounds about right. The infatuation fades and the romance takes more effort, especially when there are kids involved and both parents travel for work. That’s where friendship, respect, and compatibility come in, but needless to say it’s hard to know someone that well in a matter of weeks.

  4. Patricia says:

That’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen Naomi Watts wear.
Anyway Kate does not seem like someone who is easy to be in a relationship with. Her interviews come off as the kind of woman who needs a relationship to be perfect all the time, who needs her partner to be enthrallef with her 24/7, and that’s just not realistic.

    • Tapioca says:

If you scroll down as far as Naomi’s handbag she looks pretty good and then…. oh, dear!

I don’t think I’ve seen a dress that finished between below-the-knee and floor-length that ever flattered. And that includes you, Olivia Munn.

    • SonjaMarmeladova says:

Really? I thought she usually comes off as a go-with-the-flow kinda person who’s pretty easy to be with. I hope they make it, I really like tehm together.

      • mercy says:

She might try to be that woman, and maybe she is by now, but she had something of a spoiled diva reputation during her time with Robinson. But some of that could have been due to her youth, privileged upbringing, and resentment from his fans.

  5. dahlia1947 says:

And just yesterday I was thinking: I haven’t seen Kate Hudson with her man in a long time. I wonder if they’re having problems? So weird!

  6. The Original G says:

This is the second time, I’ve mistaken Hudson for JLO today?

  7. Jegede says:

I already said they were not getting married.

She was broody for a girl and Matt is a musician. So their getting together was of its time.
No one needs to stay engaged for that long if you want to get married.

As for her earlier statements, – wedding planning takes too long, – there is no need to plan a wedding, (its not Matt’s style) and they could easily pull a Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard.

I’ll guess Jennifer Hudson is next

    • mercy says:

Broody is one thing, but I don’t know why she entered into these whirlwind relationships with musicians. They’re on the road for long periods, with lots of temptations, and she already had a son approaching school age when she met Matt. If she’s modelling her relationship after her mother’s, they may stick it out and turn a blind eye to any cheating, but yeah, I don’t see marriage in their future.

  8. dorothy says:

This is why i’ts kind of a good idea to get to know the person before you reproduce with them. Just sayin.

    • She was upfront about wanting another child before meeting Bellamy. I’m not saying that their relationship was a farce, but I wasn’t surprised when she got pregnant so quickly. I am surprised they lasted this long.

      • don't kill me i'm french says:

My guess also. She wanted another kid (without many years of difference with her first kid) with a nice guy

      • Sarah says:

She did seem to be on the prowl for a baby maker just before she met Bellamy. Since they barely knew each other before she got pregnant, I didn’t see it lasting for the long haul anyway. Too bad though as there are kids involved.

  9. Quinn says:

Hudson looks like an elf version of JLo :0

  10. Make mine a double says:

I met all the Muse boys a few times and I was always really surprised that her and Bellamy got it together. She just didn’t seem his type as he’s pretty intense himself. Any man that wants to talk sturm und drang when in a nightclub…
I also always thought she wasn’t acting when she played Penny Lane. It really was her. Oh well.

    • Snail says:

Agreed. I’ve met Muse too.. and long time fan since their beginnings.

It seemed really out of left field when they got together and it probably wouldn’t have lasted more than a couple month’s fling if she didn’t get pregnant.
Matt is a good person and he was trying to do the right thing, so he stayed with it. She is known to be clingy and she probably was afraid it would look too scandalous, make her look bad, drive down her public persona rating, if she didn’t stick it out for awhile.

Perhaps Muse members will spend more time in the UK now and less LA-time, and make a better record next time around! Last one didn’t have the right ‘influences’….to say the very least!

      • allons-y alonso says:

I have to say, as a die hard Muse fan I didn’t like 2nd Law album. It was almost too smooth and sounded a lot like U2 (*shudder*). Anyway, I still went and saw them at their Sydney concert late last year and I have got to say, the music from that the album is phenomenal live…It’s one of those albums I think that was always intended to be performed.

      • Snail says:

Yeah, I saw a couple of their gigs live on the 2nd Law tour and I still didn’t like a lot of the songs off that album. Also, speaking of too smooth, the performances themselves had such a different vibe than in the past…..too polished and showy. I like Muse when they give a more ‘raw’ performance. I’ve seen Muse live 20 times…. Anyway, I will still give them a listen and a chance with the next album as they have been one of my favorite bands during the last 10+ years.

  11. Allison says:

I wish no ill-will for Kate Hudson, but I am damn excited Matt Bellamy might be on the market again. I have such a crush on him thanks to Muse. Polite and protective? Fuel on the flames.

  12. shannon says:

Celebrities truly do lead different lives. Who knows how often they actually see each other in the first place. IMO, it was a very strange pairing from the beginning. The guy from the Twilight band and the rom-com girl. (Not hating on Muse, here. I like them, please don’t scream at me). Kate is really pretty…not sure why she is messing w/her face but it is just more and more common now for women her age. And it’s not doing them any favors! See: Nicole Kidman.

  13. Maureen says:

She’s Kate Winslet 2.0. Give her a few more years and she’ll be on hubby/baby #3.

  14. Boobookitty says:

All single rockers and hollywood men must be rejoicing right now. Hold on to your butts men, Katie is coming to town!

  15. truthful says:

Kate looks like she has DEF had some work done, her eyes were not like that harshly pulled up..

    Hey Mr. Renner!!

  16. Sumodo1 says:

That wonk-eye has a story behind it: eye-job, brow-lift, or too much botox. At 34? Insecure much, Kate? (Her mother’s bad plastic surgery is shocking!)

  17. Marisa says:

Didn’t she originally try to talk up Thom Yorke, but he ignored her, so she went after Matt? Well, maybe if Matt doesn’t work out, she can try try again!

    • Kittypants says:

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. Can totally imagine Thom Yorke not buying into her bullshit. The guy does not suffer fools gladly.

  18. Snail says:

One more thing…. This site seems ‘protective’ or something towards Kate Hudson, afraid to talk sh*t about her. Don’t understand why. The writers here really like her or something? I honestly can’t stand her, and I don’t think her acting or her behavior in her private life deserve any reverence or protecting. To each their own, I suppose, but she’s no saint, no role model. There’s nothing that great about her, she really just got lucky being born into Hollywood, since that’s the route she took in her career. (I say that because some are born into Hollywood families and do not choose to go into acting as a career.) I don’t think Kate Hudson would have been a good enough actress to have made it this far if she had to come up the ranks originally as an unknown and with no inside connections.

  19. Kosmos says:

Kate has had her share of relationships, which don’t seem to really last. Can’t believe she would really take on the womanizer Alex Rodriguez, but she did…..and then she ends up with children from different men and you know the rest…..she’ll be on hubby/baby #3 soon, as someone else said.

  20. starr says:

This wouldn’t surprise me in the least, after seeing Kate’s super chummy pics with James Franco on-set last July: http://www.laineygossip.com/Kate-Hudson-and-James-Franco-on-the-London-set-of-Good-People/27355

Of course they were joking around, but it also looked like a major flirt-a-thon. Then again, Kate has always seemed a bit on the flirty side in general, so who knows.
