John Travolta Stayin’ Alive

John Travolta was forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, when his private Boeing 707 jet was grounded due to ‘technical difficulties’.

The 53-year-old actor was flying himself from Germany, where he had been promoting his new film ‘Wild Hogs’, was shaken, although he still managed to hire another plane and continue to New York.

A source said last night: “If he hadn’t made it to Shannon, it could have been the end of him. You could tell that he was very relieved.”

The jet is still grounded while engineers try to fix the fault, but Travolta hired another plane to complete his journey.

An airport spokesman confirmed: “John Travolta was diverted to Shannon due to technical difficulties.”

This is not the first time John has had an air emergency, in 1999 he lost an engine and made an emergency landing in Boston. Fortunately he has 5 private planes to fall back on, collected since John got his pilot’s licence in 1974. Can anyone say ‘carbon footprint’? One plane to fly an old guy, out promoting a movie about old guys?

Nice pilot’s uniform John. What, are you pretending to be in the Air Force?

  2. Fabiola Thing says:

Maybe he’s auditioning for the Village People comeback tour?

  3. DogRunner says:

Didn’t he also make some statements about global warming and conserving energy?

Seems like a waste to me.

This was a rumor he confirmed to TMZ that it was not an emergency landing.

It doesn’t say where that picture is from. He did recently test fly a new plane for an airline, it would be appropriate if he wore a uniform for that.

It should be illegal for people to privately own and fly large planes. They are incredibly hard on the environment. I remember reading after 9/11 that the temperature actually dropped due to the decrease of planes in the air.
