Kanye West gave Kim Kardashian a ‘wall of flowers’ for her first Mother’s Day

kim1

Kanye West can be very demonstrative and romantic, especially when it comes to floral arrangements. He’s not the kind of guy who stops by the grocery store to pick up a dozen roses at the last minute. Previously, for Valentine’s Day this year, Kanye gave Kim one thousand red roses. Which I found rather wasteful and showy, but sure. So for Kim’s first Mother’s Day, Kanye once again turned to some sort of flowery demonstration: a “wall” of roses, hydrangeas and peonies.

Kim posted a bunch of photos on her Instagram, plus a video so you could see the “wall” in 3D. She wrote: “I have the best fiancé in the world! I love you so much baby!!!! #HappyMothersDay.” She also posted a selfie with little IgNori, writing: “This little girl changed my world in more ways than I ever could have imagined! Being a mom is the most rewarding feeling in the world! Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms out there!”

There are some reports that Kim and Kanye want to try for another baby as soon as they get married (in less than two weeks). I don’t know though… it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Kanye wanted another baby right away (though to his credit, he doesn’t seem like one of those “I need to have a son” men), but I do think Kim hated being pregnant and she’s not looking to have another baby any time soon.

Meanwhile, the only thing Kanye did on social media to mark Mother’s Day was post a photo of the light coming through the clouds with the message “hi Mom.”

Wow, wasteful but whatever.. That’s a cute picture of her and Nori (see, even I can say something nice)

    • Kaylah says:

It really is a stupid gift. He gives the dumbest gifts imo. That painted hermes bag is in the trash along with the wilted roses & this is about to join them. Nori is a little cutie.

And it looks like a giant Rice Krispy treat.

      • Lindy79 says:

I had forgotten about that hideous bag!!

Trashy rich folks + no taste personified.

      • HappyMom says:

        An apt description.

      • Christin says:

Goes to show that large, expensive, etc., doesn’t always equal tasteful.

      • Size Does Matter says:

@Kaylah – you are so right! A giant Rice Krispie treat it is! I just don’t get it, but what do you do to top 1000 roses? He’s going to have a hard time one-upping himself with every occasion.

      • Dani2 says:

Kaylah, that is exactly what I said downthread, it looks like a giant wall of rice crispies lol

    • Belle Epoch says:

      Agree!
      First thought: SO HIDEOUS!
Second thought: Looks like used Kleenexes
Third thought: OMG those are real flowers? What a SPECTACULAR waste of real flowers and real money!
These people have the worst values in the world. All they care about is “Lookit me!!!” Imagine if he spent that money on medical research, or education, or returning veterans, or people who are starving… VOMIT.

      • idk says:

They seem to think their supply of money is endless. Kim does not make as much as she used to and Kanye’s popularity has dwindled I’d say. I don’t think purchasing these flowers is going to make them broke but over time all this extravagance is going to catch up to them. But if Kanye is anything like the Kardashians he probably got those flowers for free in exchange for some free pr or this will be shot and aired on Kim’s show.

      • swack says:

You’re right, it looks like the kleenex flowers that people put on floats!

    • Dimebox says:

Have you ever used one of the aerosol cans of sealant that comes out like foam,, then hardens? That’s what that wall of gloom looks like to me. And Kanye thinks he’s one of the great visionaries of our age, and I say maybe not Mr. Kimye. 😊

    • Suzanneg444 says:

Yet another classic showing of “more money than brains”. Only she would lye down on a white fluffy carpet to pose kissing her baby….cus we all know….it’s ALL ABOUT YOU< KIM!

    • Rice says:

Is it terrible of me to think that cute little Nori looks like she’s going to barf?

  2. Dawn says:

Tacky and strange. I see she brought poor North out for a photo op again. Looks like she took it on Saturday or she just got home from her “big surprise” wedding shower on Saturday night. North never looks at ease with her mother or father in my opinion.

  3. Hausfrau says:

Huh? Like, who’s gonna clean that up when it starts to wilt? Is it art? Many questions, much confused…

    • Francesca says:

I am worried for IgNori… That thing looks like it is going to crush her!

    • LadyMTL says:

You know they have a slew of “help” to pick up after them, right? So KK doesn’t have to ruin her manicure by cleaning up wilted blooms. 😛

Honestly, while I can understand the sentiment behind it (the first Mother’s Day and he’s rich and can afford these grand gestures, etc) I do find it tacky and wasteful. Then again, they usually are tacky and wasteful so there’s nothing new under that sun.

  4. LadyJane says:

These people are bonkers. I mean, that square of flowers is just absurd. They try so very hard to be unique, artsy, elegant, but it always comes across as desperate and fake.

  5. kri says:

That looks like a giant Marshmallow Krispies bar from far away, and if that baby doesn’t end up calling her KK, and the nanny” Mama” I will be shocked!

    • janie says:

I never thought I’d ever defend him, but here goes. I think he thought this was a great idea. Let’s be realistic, it had to over the top.. look who it was for! We know he has no taste or a clue of what tacky is. I think he meant well and thought he did good. I think Mothers Day is hard for him and he has no class, just money. My 2 cents.

  6. Ray says:

Wow that looks like a beat up old matress or a wall of matted sheeps wool…

    • Trishizle says:

That’s exactly what I thought when I first saw the pics… A well worn mattress that should have been thrown out 30 years ago

  7. The Original G says:

Really? Now I’m obliged to make a social media post for Mother’s Day?

    • Snazzy says:

Lol I agree with you, I never do either. I called my mom (she lives in Canada, I’m in Switzerland) and had sent flowers, that was enough. The crap on social media was just annoying. Made we want to punch people I normally really care about ….

      Ok rant over

Otherwise, the wall of flowers is wierd. That’s all I’ve got

      • idk says:

The people that post a ridiculous amount of stuff on social media about Mother’s Day are probably the same ones that don’t talk to their mom’s most of the year. It’s all a show, social media is the new “reality tv”…scripted and fake.

      • Snazzy says:

        @idk that’s soooo true!!

  8. Frida_K says:

It looks like a giant wall of quinoa to me, but what do I know?

  9. MediaMaven says:

Only that Krew can take beautiful flowers and make them look cheap and tacky. Kongratulations Kardashians.

    • wheezy says:

Beautiful flowers? I thought that was a POPCORN WALL!
      That thang is hideous!

  10. Lindy79 says:

    Why….just…..why?

  11. sullivan says:

Excess, thy name begins with a K.

  12. Patricia says:

    It’s so freaking ugly!

  13. jessiebes says:

I actually really like it. Hanging my head in shame.

  14. Nicolette says:

How sweet, the absentee Mother trots out her baby for a photo op on Mother’s Day. Being a Mom requires a lot more than an occasional photo with your child, it requires actual TIME with her. I find myself feeling more and more sorry for that adorable baby.

  15. Jacqueline says:

Wasn’t she pregnant last Mother’s Day? A girlfriend of mine posted something about it being her first Mother’s Day, but her son is more than nine months-old. It might be the first with a baby in your arms, but I think the first true Mother’s Day can be before birth.

    • Lindy79 says:

Yes a friend of mine is expecting in August and she (and bump) got flowers and a card from her partner.

I’d be shocked if Kim didn’t use it last year as an opportunity to get something cheap looking and tacky.

    • Marigold says:

I think it’s cute to recognize it for a pregnant woman but for me, personally, when the baby was actually outside the womb is when it counted because it was a hell of a lot harder once the kid was out and needed constant attention than when it was inside just hanging out, not crying, not needing to eat, not pooping all over creation, not ruining my boobs. But that’s just me…

Oh, and lemme just say, I know Kim and I lead vastly different lives and have crazy different parenting styles but a wall of flowers is bullsh*t. A wall of flowers is wasteful and useless. I got a fat spa gift certificate for my first Mother’s Day and I might have been supremely annoyed by a wall of flowers. A wall of flowers does crap for the aching back of a woman that carries around a baby all day. But like I said, she and I lead very different lives.

    • swack says:

When I was pregnant with my first on Mother’s Day, I got a Bentwood Rocker. Loved it and used it to rock my girls to sleep at night!! I still have it, but need to replace the cane seat. Was the best Mother’s Day gift (except for now when I want the day to myself as I see my grandkids and girls every day).

  16. Skyblue says:

    A wall of cauliflower????

  17. Pamela says:

Ok..so sure, that is wasteful. But they have loads of $ and they certainly can do whatever they want.

BUT— That “wall” of flowers is ugly and stupid. It’s like Kanaye just said “what is the biggest, stupidest thing I can do to show the world how much disposable income I have?”

I imagine there are many many rooms in Kim’s house. If he wanted to be extravagant, he could have sent a vase of flowers (or 3) for every room in the house. Still over the to–but pretty.

This was just a big ugly waste of flowers. Will it just sit on the lawn til thye die?

  18. Sassy says:

What?? A wall of flowers? For why??????? 0_0

  19. dorothy says:

Unfortunately, later in the day, while admiring the flowers, the wall
collapsed, pinning Kim underneath them. ….. sorry, just wishful thinking.

  20. Dani2 says:

Looks like a wall of rice crispies from afar to me.

  21. Inconceivable! says:

North is adorable, but it looks like she is pushing away from Kimmy and her over-inflated puckered lips. It must be a terrifying sight for a little baby to see that!

  22. aquarius64 says:

For all the money he has Kanye has no taste. It looks like a wall of extra large cotton balls from a distance. But let’s remember, this is the same guy who gave KK that hideous handbag for Christmas. Oh, the memory of Kim’s face when she “had” to carry it….

  23. truthful says:

well whose house is it in front of?? since they don’t have a house right now??
    PimpMamaKris?? a hotel? a Mason’s Lodge?

    po Nori

  24. Mag says:

It seems a little Freudian – putting up a wall – hmmmm

  25. Anastasia says:

WHOA, she’s ALMOST kissing that child! So close!

  26. idk says:

Showing off much? Was there any need for her to post this for the world to see? It’s stupid and pointless.

I doubt Kim will ever get pregnant again. Do I think Kanye is yearning for a son? Who knows? I know of couples who wanted a son so bad they kept getting pregnant year after year but gave up after their fifth daughter was born. Just be happy your children are born healthy who cares if they are male or female !

    • FingerBinger says:

Kourtney likes being pregnant maybe she can be Kim and Kanye’s surrogate.

      • word says:

I think Kourtney is pregnant with her third child right now. They will probably announce it during the June premiere of their new season. I could be wrong though.

    • Tatjana says:

In my country, men get a lot of crap for saying they want a son. It’s seen as very primitive. My dad’s cousin had two daughters and they tried for a third ( the family was outraged they tried for a third. So many kids, Why so many kids?)- He got twin daughters. Suits him right.

      • idk says:

Yeah it’s disgusting what’s happening around the world. The lengths people will go to just to have a son. Female infanticide is a huge issue.

With regards to your dad’s cousin, I feel sorry for his daughters as they have a father that didn’t want them. What is so special about having a son? Who cares. Just be glad your kids are healthy.

      • Tatjana says:

To be fair, he’s a great father, and he wanted a son so he could have both sons and daughters. If he had two sons he’d want a daughter ( but that’s apparently okay).

      • idk says:

        @ Tatjana

Oh ok, I thought he was one of those types who only wanted sons. Nice to know !

      • Eleanor Zissou says:

But three kids isn’t that much? Why the outrage?

  27. Zigggy says:

I can’t hate- flowers are pretty. Sounds like a sweet post from Kanye about his mom, too.

    • janie says:

I agree…. I think his heart is in the right place, he’s been lost since his mother passed. I wish and hope he finds peace. It’s a hard day for a lot of people.

      • aquarius64 says:

I agree. I think Kanye has been lost since Donda West died. I believe had she lived the K clan would not have been able to get their claws into him.

In a fight between Dr. Donda West vs. Pimp Mama Kris – Dr. West before the bell rang for them to come out of their corners.

  28. Elisabeth says:

I just imagine her getting her hair and makeup done, squeezing her fat ass into a too small dress, artfully laying on the floor then barking to the nanny ‘Ok give her to me’
    click click click click

“yeah…the fourth one, i look great in that one”

    *posts to instagram

  29. Shiksa Goddess says:

I saw that on Instagram and I thought it was a mattress or something. Not impressed. I am however impressed with Kanye’s Mother’s day post. That was sweet.

    • word says:

I liked Kanye’s Mother’s Day post to his mom. Did you see Kim’s? She put up a pic of Kris in a bathing suit and talked about how amazing her mom’s body was after four kids. That’s her idea of what a “good mother” is.

  30. FingerBinger says:

I never know what to make of people who show these over the top displays of affection. Kanye is definitely isn’t doing this for Kim. Nori is adorable. That’s all I got.

    • word says:

Yeah it’s like the people who brag on facebook about how wonderful their life is when behind closed doors it’s the complete opposite. The ones who brag the most always have the most to hide.

  31. ALJsMom says:

I think you should stop calling the baby IgNori. It was funny at first couple of times but now you’re just making the baby a joke. It’s fine to for her parents to be a constant joke but this baby didn’t pick her family. It really isn’t funny to make the baby a joke

    • FingerBinger says:

I agree. They can run a joke into the ground around here.

    • Mingy says:

Yes, I hate seeing her being called that, even though I chuckled at it at first..I always enjoy good word-play, but it’s just cruel at this point.

      • DollyDeville says:

Some of the posters on Radar are calling her Norphan. I think everyone should continue to call the baby IgNori &/or Norphan in the hopes that it will shame Kim and Kanye into spending actual, non-photo-op time with their child. What am I saying? These people have no shame, especially Kim. She wouldn’t know shame if it bit her in the over-inflated ass. Maybe she’d take notice if said bite caused her ass to pop, but even that is doubtful.

However, Kanye’s Mother’s Day tribute to his late mom sounds really lovely. Much more thoughtful than that dull of flowers. When you hear/read the phrase “wall of flowers,” this unappealing Ramen-brick-looking thing is NOT what comes to mind! I was expecting something much more colorful, elaborate and grand. Giant Rice Krispie treat is far too kind a description! It looks like the world’s largest collection of used Kleenex.

  32. shellybean says:

The sentiment is sweet, but I really don’t get the “wall” of flowers. It’s not that aesthetically pleasing. It just looks like a giant square of flowers. It would be one thing if it was an actual part of the landscaping, like if there was a wall of flowers on the property that was actually planted in the ground. This mobile version is just weird to me.

That’s a cute picture of Kim and North.

    • Belle says:

I’m łate on this but I was thinking about something similar regarding the landscaping idea. Something planted for a first Mother’s Day would have been really lovely, and thoughtful. Some type of flowering tree that would live and grow wound have been so much more meaningful than the hideous, ‘wall of flowers’ that will be a dead mess by next week.

Kind of sad, I really love the combo of flowers in that display…. But as with many things in life, less is more. Tacky, wealthy people will never understand this concept. Ever. This ‘wall’ is a perfect example of a need to flaunt wealth and do something over the top just because you can. Personally, I think a small bouquet of these same flowers, in an old mason jar vase would have been far more beautiful than the giant Rice Crispy treat.

  33. word says:

I wonder what she would have done if Kanye only got her a dozen roses or something? Would she have had a hissy fit or would she have pretended “less is more”. She is so materialistic it is gross. The fact she has to make sure the world knows how much Kanye spends on her is even grosser.

  34. qtpi says:

Seriously what an exhausting life. Does she ever go a day without documenting her amazing looks and sexiness? Even the pic with igNori has to be about how sexy Kim is trying to be. We get it Kim!!! You are sooooooo pretty!!!!

What are they going to do for attention after this wedding charade? The baby/engagement/wedding are done. These people thrive on the attention that those events bring them. Their divorce will be epic.

    • me says:

She’ll put out fake divorce or fake pregnancy rumors of course. Or maybe she’ll stoop low enough to walk around with a fake black eye so the media can go crazy with domestic violence rumors. This is all she has now. Without Kanye and that baby, the interest in Kim is done and she knows it…unless she keeps wearing awful outfits…

    • swack says:

They have North’s birthday coming up soon. Once the wedding is over they will probably focus on that and really make it over the top.

  35. me says:

I’m waiting for that Kool-Aid man to jump right through that wall of flowers.

  36. The Original Mia says:

A wall of flowers. Wow…that’s so not romantic. Like at all. It’s square. It’s unimaginative.

    • Ange says:

Yeah I don’t get why it’s meant to be a great present. Kanye could literally have just had his assistant call a florist with an amount to spend and bam! Present is done. It required the least amount of thought and effort imaginable.

  37. idk says:

Seriously Kim give it up already, allow your daughter to wear colors other than black and white.

  38. Hissyfit says:

    What a waste of roses!

  39. Blueb says:

What does one do with a wall of flowers??

  40. LahdidahBaby says:

Nori, in photo op with Kim: “Who ARE you?”

  41. Kloops says:

I think it’s weird that she described motherhood as the most “rewarding feeling”. Seems very self involved and less focused on the act of mothering, or the relationship she has with her child. This does not surprise me at all about KK. I have no doubt she does very little mothering but enjoys the ‘feelings’ having a daughter entails.

  42. TOPgirl says:

What a waste of beautiful flowers! She could plant them instead!

    • Maggie says:

A nice rose bush that she could plant and enjoy every Mother’s day would be better. A living gift that requires a bit of care and attention and rewards you with beauty year after year.

  43. kitty-bye says:

    A square? FUG ….So Odd.
