Star: Has Beyonce been banging her trusted bodyguard Julius de Boer for years?

bey2

Here are some new photos of Beyonce and her newish braids, which she just got last week. Beyonce posted these photos to her Tumblr, which raises an interesting point… Beyonce and Jay-Z are really, really good at avoiding the paparazzi. They’re like Brangelina in that way. But it kind of defeats the purpose of avoiding the paparazzi if you’re just going to post intimate family photos and updated portraits on your Tumblr. I suspect it’s just about control for Bey – she can’t control the paps, but she can control the photos she puts on her Tumblr. Anyway, I’m not crazy about the braids, but they’re not the worst thing ever.

Anyway, we’re still talking about Elevator-gate. Solange Whoop-Ass-Gate? Something like that. Conventional wisdom/gossip has allowed us to believe that Solange was violently raging at Jay-Z because he was maybe getting too friendly with Rachel Roy. Star Mag asks a different question this week: what if Beyonce is the one having an affair?

Beyonce’s bodyguard, Julius De Boer, became instantly famous when — on surveillance video captured in a hotel elevator after the Met Gala — he saved her husband, Jay Z, from a brutal attack at the hands of her sister, Solange Knowles. On the video, Julius comes across as professional, loyal and level headed. But while all that may be true, Star has learned that there’s a lot more to the bodyguard — and his relationship with Beyonce — than meets the eye.

“Jay definitely thinks that there was and may still be something romantic going on between Bey and Julius,” an insider tells Star of the hip-hop mogul, whose own rumored cheating was the reported cause of Solange’s attack. “He wanted to fire Julius last February, but Beyonce said, ‘Julius isn’t going anywhere.’”

The “XO” singer and her bodyguard have raised eyebrows for years for their unusually close relationship. In 2009, they were spotted leaving a hotel, his lips stained with the signature’s signature red lipstick. Despite being subject to numerous cheating rumors himself, Jay is, nonetheless, “very jealous” of his wife’s friendship with Julius — and friends believe he may have a reason to be.

“They’ve spent a lot of time together behind closed doors,” the source explains. “He’s even stayed in her hotel room.”

[From Star Magazine]

This is a for-real question: would Beyonce bang “the help”? Yes, I’m really asking that. I don’t think Beyonce is as much of an elitist as, say, Gwyneth Paltrow. I mean, Bey likes everything fancy and her world-view in diamond-encrusted, of course. But I just don’t think Beyonce would get involved with someone she employs. I don’t think it would even occur to her that she could have an affair with an employee. Maybe I’m wrong. I do think it’s a little bit funny that everybody knows Julius and that he’s been part of Bey’s team for so many years. Maybe he’s more like family at this point. Huh – so if he’s “like family,” would she be more or less likely to bang him?

She’s trashy. No matter how elitist she comes off, she’s trashy underneath and I absolutely would not be surprised if this were true.

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

Since there are many many cheating rumors about Jay Z ,i hope she bangs other guys

      • alexi says:

Because that is how women act? If someone is cheating on your marriage why stay? Jay and Bey are not together for love, they are in for the $$$$, they are a business. But I do not like what the french says….

      • Jacqueline says:

I think they’re both actively screening around. He just happens to do it with other little starlets (there are all of the BI’s about the male lover in Miami, where Jay was the top suspect, but that is another can of worms). Beyoncé isn’t hanging out with other famous dudes alone. It wouldn’t surprise me if she slept with the person closest to her, they have to have some kind of intimate relationship based on the amount of time they spend together and the unique way that he understands her life. Plus, there isn’t any other man she could have with her on the reg without drawing attention to it.

      • deehunny says:

I agree with @Jacqueline. I think you are more likely to cheat with someone who knows you intimately and spend time with. I don’t know if she was cheating with a bodyguard but honestly I’d be surprised if she was getting hers on the side since she is southern Baptist and I think she takes it seriously (not to say the devout don’t cheat, of course). Everyone knows that Jay has been cheating for yrs, even before they were married, so I think she also knows and the deal is he doesn’t rub it in her face. I think that’s what Solange was pissed about.

      • pix says:

Have you taken a look at the bodyguard? If not, Google Julius De Boer right now.

Hot. The man is very, very good looking. Trashy or not, this is who i’d be cheating with! Jay-Z better watch his back – i’m totally down with Beyonce leaving his behind for the hot, bodyguard.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @pix

I googled him… god! I would say “Bye bye JayZ!” Lol

      • decorative item says:

I Googled him and am wondering why the drama? He’s not ugly, but I’m not seeing the super sexy hotness at all.

    • Maria says:

What has she ever done to come off as trashy?

      Please explain this to me.

Please don’t bring up this recent album either whee she talks about banging HER HUSBAND, give me another example of something that actually supports your assessment.

      • Helvetica says:

        +1

      • aenflex says:

Photoshopping a thigh gap. Superbowl performance. Gutter language. Those braids. Grammys performance 2014. Partition video and lyrics. I could go on, but why? You keep your opinion, and I’ll keep mine 🙂
And how, my dear, do you know that song was about her husband? Hmm?

      • Clever hand says:

Dropped out of school to practice running in high heels. Married a known former crack dealer. Sister was a teen mom and divorced already. Dad has two grown daughters and a one year old. Any of those things qualifies.

      • Erinn says:

I think the Anna Mae comments were trashy, personally. Other than that, nothing especially offends me about Beyonce. At most, I muster a ‘meh’

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

I think her braids look awesome.

      • Dani2 says:

@Clever Hand the actions of her sister and father make her “trashy”? LMAO, you didn’t even try.

      • Nick says:

Hold up, so because she wears braids that makes her trashy? What is it not European enough?

All of the other things listed (I.e. from Aenflex and Clever Hand) could apply to nearly every celeb.

Also if someone is consider trashy based of something their family member or spouse has done then I would love to hear how perfect and classy your family background must be.

      • OriginalCrystal says:

        @Dani2

Lol, I read that comment and just laughed tbh. The straws people grasp at on here when it comes to Beyoncé is kinda cute. We both know what it really is but let them keep thinking that dropping out of school to become a millionaire popstar (as oppose to all the normal folks who drop out of school to get impregnated by Bubba and work at Walmart) is what they’re really mad about.

Gutter language ?? The age of folks on here really shows in Kim K and Beyoncé posts that’s for sure.

      • delorb says:

        Clever,

I have worn braids all my life, off and on. That did NOT make me a trashy person. Jeez. But then, whenever someone white wears braids they are trendsetters. Surprising how that works.

      • Ellie says:

aenflex : I don’t get it how are braids trashy? What you mean by trashy is surely that she’s black, why just don’t say it?? Why look for stupid reasons like her braids.. Really disgusting.

Clever : So if my sister is a teen mom and is already divorced how can I be held responsible for this? How does it make ME trashy?

I really don’t get the veiled racism there is on here on every single Beyonce’s post.

      • Khadijah says:

Rest assured that Beyonce can not work photo shop if she tried. I sincerely doubt she even runs her Tumblr or is Instagram account. Thats the work of some over eager employee with some crazy weird idea of what beautiful thighs look like. Beyonce plays up her curves, not down, where have you been the last 15 years for godsakes?

      • Liv says:

I don’t find her braids trashy, but I don’t get why you all think aenflex thinks’s she’s trashy because Beyonce is black. I mean it’s a personal opinion if you find her braids trashy or not and there are also different ways to style your braids. I for example find very long hair sometimes a bit trashy and I think that her braids would have looked better if they were shorter. Aaaaand for the record I found Heidi Klum’s braids very trashy. It’s not about the braids but about the person and how you wear them in my opinion.

      • yariettt says:

        1 – constant crotch thrusting
        2 – she disrespected TINA!!!!!!!!
3 – she steals other artist’s work without crediting

        Those are trashy behaviors, IMHO.

      • jaye says:

I was going to say the same thing. Honestly, I don’t understand the Beyonce hate. People say she and Jay-Z manipulate the media to protect their brand, but that can be said of 80% of the celebrities in Hollywood. Why is it the ultimate sin when Beyonce does it.

And the bodyguard rumor has been around for ages. It seems like once a year some rag or gossip site recycles it.

      • jaye says:

@aenflex, how is photoshopping a thigh gap trashy? And the fact that Jay-Z contributed a verse on at least one those songs and she references her “baby daddy” in another, I think it’s safe to say she’s talking about her husband.

      • jaye says:

Well I must be trashy because I’ve worn braids off and on for most of my life. aenflex, I think you are just swinging wild now. LOL

      • kibbles says:

i’ll just let that pic of her gold polished nail with the letter B and a crown speak for itself. Lol. She has poor taste in clothes too.

    • Molly says:

She annoys me because they make like 80 million a year but don’t donate anything of note yet are celebrated as being these great people when they aren’t. If she cheated then that just adds to her non entity-ness to me. I don’t like her music or persona (I think its vulgar) and her only saving grace as far as Im concerned is not going to Kardashian’s wedding lol

      • OriginalCrystal says:

They don’t donate ? At all ? And yet if they donated publicly people would call them famewhores and say they’re only doing it for PR. There have been people on here who can find a way to hate on Oprah of all people for not ‘donating quietly’. It’s just funny at this point tbh.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation for one.

      • Clever hand says:

Yes, seeing as how they all Stan for each other.

      • Molly says:

They’ve been called out on quite a few Carter-friendly sites over not donating their actual money but showing up to events and asking fans to donate to this cause or that cause. I mean its their money, more power to them. It just doesn’t endear me as a fan to someone if I know they have $400mil in the bank yet come from normal circumstances and don’t do more for the humans around them other than “entertain”.

“Responding to criticism by civil rights legend Harry Belafonte that Jay and his wife, superstar Beyoncé, could and should do more in terms of activism and philanthropic giving to benefit the black community, Jay Z had this to say: “I’m offended by that because first of all, and this is going to sound arrogant, but my presence is charity. Just who I am. Just like Obama’s is. Obama provides hope. Whether he does anything, the hope that he provides for a nation, and outside of America, is enough.”

      • Clever hand says:

Nick, marrying someone who proudly sold crack and pimped women doesn’t reflect badly on you when you claim to be all about female empowerment?

      • OriginalCrystal says:

        @Okitt

Remember what we spoke about in the Blake Lively post about celebs and charity?? Lol people will always be mad. It’s always a problem. It’s never enough.

      • Dhavynia says:

        +1000000000

      • Nick says:

@Clever Hand, please show me any sold proof the Jay was a pimp? Please I would lover to hear. I’ll wait…

And explain how his actions is her blame when she met him decades after his criminal past? Are people not allowed to change and grow? He grew up in a housing project during the crack epidemic. He sold drugs when he was a teen then quit in his 20s and became a rapper. He’s far from perfect (I’m not denying that) but should he be condemned for the rest of his life for something he’s done over 20 yrs ago?

      • TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

You omitted the episode where J-Z sold OWS t-shirts and kept the profits for himself until he was called out. They are both empty, greedy, vain caricatures of human beings – their wealth has ruined them. And their music is hardly groundbreaking or even good. Beyoncé can’t write a song to save her life, and her many of her songs have been lifted from previous songs. Quite a few. What would you expect for someone that never got past 4th grade if you actually listen to her in unrehearsed interviews. Fake in every way.
I’ll take the authentic musicians of the 60s over these two narcissists.

      • TheOriginalTiffany says:

They are the only ones inthg world that wanted to buy out the tent for a private show. They didn’t want to sit with the peasants. It was going to just be the three of them in a 2600 person tent. Which is so weird. What a horrible ambiance for the artists and comics.

Anyway the deal fell through the day before, but we found out at the las minute that they were inviting a few kids from a poor school in the neighborhood so they could write it off as charity. Just enough kids invited to qualify for the tax write off. So the three of them and on the other side of the tent 50 poor kids.

Even Barbra Streisand sat with the commoners. I’m glad the deal fell through at the very last minute because they sound like awful people.

      • lucy says:

It is laughable that they wave their self-importance, wealth, and ignorance around as justification for their self-importance, wealth, and ignorance!

I didn’t think my opinion of Shawn Carter could get any lower until I read his ignorant response to Harry Belafonte taking him to task (thanks @Molly for posting):

“Responding to criticism by civil rights legend Harry Belafonte that Jay and his wife, superstar Beyoncé, could and should do more in terms of activism and philanthropic giving to benefit the black community, Jay Z had this to say: “I’m offended by that because first of all, and this is going to sound arrogant, but my presence is charity. Just who I am. Just like Obama’s is. Obama provides hope. Whether he does anything, the hope that he provides for a nation, and outside of America, is enough.”

The defensive bragging and posturing that the Carters do is as off-putting as their juvenile grammar is.

I agree B’s only saving grace is having blown off Kanye’s wedding.

What has she done that ISN’T vulgar or trashy?

      • littlestar says:

I do believe that people can do whatever they want with their own money. But I don’t think Beyoncé and Jay Z are good people, regardless of whether they donate to charity or not (and I feel this way just from their interviews, there is something very cold about both of them). And this quote that others have mentioned: “I’m offended by that because first of all, and this is going to sound arrogant, but my presence is charity. Just who I am. Just like Obama’s is. Obama provides hope. Whether he does anything, the hope that he provides for a nation, and outside of America, is enough.” Sickening. Just crazy that Jay Z thinks he symbolizes hope.

That’s another thing that has always bothered me about these two, their worship of Obama. I doubt they even know the first thing about his politics. They just latched onto someone extremely famous and important to further their personas and make them look good.

    • Dhavynia says:

She sure as hell looks trashy in these photos

And why wouldn’t she bang the help? She might act might act like royalty but she’s not blue-blood even for music standards

      • delorb says:

So if you have blue blood, then you’re automatically not trashy? Wow

      • Ellie says:

people will always throw the word trashy around based on your ethnicity.

      • littlestar says:

I don’t mind the braids. I think they are way too long and crispy looking on the ends, but if they were shorter, like just above the breasts, it would look really good.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

…because Royalty and blue-blood never bang the help right?
WTH are you even talking about?

      • Dhavynia says:

OK let’s rephrase it because obviously the point was missed
She’s not music blue blood because she can’t sing AND I never mentioned her braids because her trashy outfits speak for themselves and yes IMO it does look trashy
I’m very well aware real everyone cheats regardless of class but these two make themselves out to be untouchable and they obviously lack humility

      • kri says:

Whoa. Not “blue-blood”? Holy crap. Ummm I am NOT fans of the Carters, and what Jay said in response to Harry Belafonte is freaking GROSS. But braids aren’t trashy. And having “blue blood” does not make you UNtrashy. Trashy is a way of behaving. It has NOTHING do with hairstyles, etc. That is stupid. And no one has blue blood, so there is that, too. Some of the trashiest behavior on this planet comes from so-called “blue-bloods.”

      • delorb says:

        @Dhavynia,

I think the real point is that you don’t like her and want to trash her. Fair enough. This is a gossip site. But I don’t think you can say she can’t sing. She can sing, as all her songs can attest. The number of chart topping hits (with and without Destiny’s Child) makes her music royalty. I understand that its tough to swallow that she has had success, but she has. Nothing anyone can or will say can wipe that out. So, IMO, you’re wrong on all points.

    • Kim says:

CONGRATULATIONS Bey for making the Most Powerful Women in the World List again.J uly 18th Minute Maid Park I can’t wait for concert.Keep being motivated by the Haters.

      • RosettaStoned says:

Yeah she’s really *powerful*. I’m sure the United Nations has her on speed-dial. That list is an insult to women, entertaining is not power, flagrant displays of gaudy welath is not power…. good grief

    • Gossipi says:

These are old speculations, it was published a LONG time ago after pictures of Bey and her #1 security guard seemed closer than normal, turns out he’s just her cousin.

    • Pandy says:

Agree. If Heidi Klum can bang the bodyguard, why couldn’t Beyonce?

    • mollination says:

Okay, how funny is her shirt? It says “let’s get away from it all” but because the last part is folded over, it looks like, “let’s get away from italy”. I would just love if that were an on-purpose jab at the kimye wedding. I know it’s not, but it would have been the best if it was. Everything with her, is after all, calculated.

    • mg says:

It has nothing to do with being trashy. Clearly they spend a lot of time together and probably have more of a friendly than objectively professional relationship. It wouldn’t be at all unusual for them to feel attracted to each other in that context, regardless of whether he is “the help,” or not.

I once crushed on a chubby and pretty unattractive guy after I worked in a very small room with him for several months. At time time I was objectively slender and perceived as attractive by at least some men. We grew very close, I found him to be hilarious and endearing, and there was definite sexual tension between us. He noted that if you spend enough time with someone you stop noticing the more superficial aspects of their appearance. If he hadn’t quite it’s possible we could have ended up together.

    • Caz says:

      Agree

    • Asra says:

      Totally agree!

    • BOSS says:

Oh go flop yo fat äss on you dented bed and reflect on ways lonely envious mutts could find their absentee fathers.

  2. Calabar says:

I don’t think is going on now. I would not be surprised if something happened in the past.

  3. Loopy says:

Wow that elevator attack has really opened up a can of worms.

  4. QQ says:

Engh sure why not… For giggles not for realsiez though, that’s kinda the thing with Beysus and Jay, They have the highest most complementary partner in their weight class they could have found in each other.

I dont see with their schedules and lives and all how they could be strictly monogamous and I see how they could be doing all types of very discreet NDA signing Randos but if they split apart that fortune and divorce and all No More Crazy in Love, Bonnie and Clyde, On the Run Etc etc On their catalogs and concerts and WHO do they marry that could be considered any type of improvement or equal? And you KNOW these two care about THAT

    • Val says:

      +10000

    • LeahMommy says:

+1 Who could they possibly be with that would elevate them? There is no rapper who could do that for Bey other than Jay. Maybe a superstar actor? George Clooney and Brad Pitt are already taken. And as for Jay maybe Jlo? But she’s not on Bey’s level either. They are stuck together lol.

      • QQ says:

LeahMommy.. Bwahhahah JLo?! now THAT is the Ultimate Help banger Right there! He’d do the same like an actress or a model is the best he’d get no Beysus! But like you said For that alone They are stuck together

      • kri says:

Maybe Bey and Jlo should dump their a-hole men and get to together. Just a thought.

  5. Shelley says:

There is a recent blind item about a married female celebrity and her bodyguard with his hand on her ass as they are waiting for the car. Sounds like Bey to me now.
And I totally disagree about her being above sleeping with the help. Literally everything about her is fake, so who knows what she is capable of.

    • delorb says:

I don’t think she’s fake at all. If she were fake, she’d do something about her diction. I can see her banging the help because we’re all human and we all crave intimacy. Because she does seem a bit controlling and banging someone you’re paying keeps you in control.

  6. smevelyn says:

I despise those braids! The length is so ridiculous and looks painfully heavy.

    • Roo says:

Yes. I hate them too. The length is the WORST! It reminds me of something and I can’t put my finger on it…

    • Shelley says:

I can assure you that those braids aren’t heavy. The ones Solange wears are a lot heavier. But I agree, that she doesn’t look good. Braids have never suited her.

    • elisa says:

I like the braids. I think it is refreshing change. I hope she keeps them for awhile.

  7. Delta Juliet says:

Well, since I am a regular nobody with no “help” and no body guards, I feel safe in saying that I would probably be really into a guy who was always protecting me, saving my life, etc. I could TOTALLY see myself banging a hot body guard so why not Queen B? I’m not saying it’s right, I’m just sayin’……

  8. Shelley says:

And there was that incident at the Superbowl last year, where JayZ went off on her after looking at her phone, calling a whore etc as Kelly, Michelle and the ‘help’ looked on. So, yes she is banging the bodyguard

    • OriginalCrystal says:

Please tell us more about this Super Bowl incident that you witnessed with your own eyes and didn’t read from a blind item…

    • OriginalCrystal says:

Might as well be the same thing to folks on here who worship at the altar of blind items…

  9. Dani says:

She’s not above it. No one is. Desire is desire/lust is lust. I hope she did though, just to give Jay a taste of his own medicine.

  10. Jules says:

What happened to her empowering short hair? Why the Bo Derek look now? That look sucked then.

    • MaggieS says:

Seriously? Is that what we call what black women have been doing for decades and decades the Bo Derek look? Something very wrong here. Smh.

    • eowyn says:

As if she is the one who created that? You do know that black women were doing that hairstyles long before Bo Derek?
      Ugh.
It seems if a black woman doesn’t wear sleek and long hair it is not fine?
I saw similar comment when she wore a weave similar to afro air.

    • OriginalCrystal says:

This comment… What a fail. Bo Derek ??

    • delorb says:

LOL Bo Derek? Really? Black women have been braiding their hair for centuries. Centuries. White women, OTOH, didn’t get braids until Bo Derek showed them its possible to sport them.

      • kri says:

@delorb-actually hair-braiding for women has been around in all cultures since…well, since we had to get our hair out of our damn faces. I love braids on anyone, you can do some cool things with them.

      • YuYa says:

Actually, white northern European women have been braiding their hair for thousands of years.

      • delorb says:

You two know damn well that white women from centuries ago weren’t sporting CORN ROWS. Jeez. There is a difference.

    • lucy says:

Scary how a comment on hairstyle gets mistaken for racism!

Bo Derek’s braids looked bad. Beyonce’s braids look bad. Not that I don’t like braids. Or white people. Or black people. Or hair. Or gossip. Or opinions. Or photos. (Methinks some commenters are a wee bit hairtrigger high strung and looking to pick fights.)

About these obviously fake extensions: the quality of the material is poor, the color is brassy, the ends are frayed, the length would look flattering if stopped at her armpits.

Totally cool to call Beyonce out for ditching her short “empowering” hair. Unless she now calls these faux extra long strands also “empowering”. We get it, Beyonce, you feel empowered no matter what, and feel the need to boast about your so-called empowerment, to make yourself feel powerful. What exactly is it that she does with all this power? Showing us pictures of herself is not…powerful. It’s a masturbatory ego stroke.

Beyonce is an insecure poser with a huge appetite for self-adulation and vulgar adornments.

Well-adjusted people without self-esteem issues don’t beg for attention or feel the need to flaunt whatever their crutches are.

      • Jules says:

        Thank you.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

The comment was not intended to be racist, but it’s definitely….ignorant, for lack of a better word.

I know everyone has the need to equalize everything around here but it’s important to understand that historically, how black women’s hairstyles fit into black civilizations is of cultural and spiritual significance–it’s not as superficial as *just* a hairdo like Bo Derek’s braids.

In certain African cultures, braided hair was meant to send a message to the gods. Hair was considered the most elevated part of the body and a portal for spirits to pass through the soul.

As white folks, hair simply doesn’t have the same meaning to us, which is why when we say Miley’s short hair looks bad or “trashy”, it’s not going to generate the same amount of indignation.

I apologize for coming down so hard on some of the posters for what may have been an innocent comment, but I also think it’s important to educate ourselves of things that we may not realize are culturally insensitive, so we’ll be more careful in the future.
Sometimes it helps to shed light on what might initially seem like a knee-jerk reaction.

EDIT: As a white chick, I’m not trying to speak for black people so please feel free to tell me to SFTU. I always get self-conscious about speaking about these kinds of things.

It’s how @AENFLEX said what she was saying to prove her point. Folks need to take responsibility for what the say and how they say it. @ AENFLEX gave a listing of what made Beyoncé trashy. She included the phrase “those braids” when she really should have said her bad braid job or bad weave job. It’s like me saying a non black chick hair is bad because it’s blond, but what I really should say that shade of blond makes her look trashy. I personally don’t like Beyoncé and thinks she’s trashy. I also think Kesha is trashy, but I also am careful of the way I describe her. @ Jules, come on, no one on this site gets on here to start a war. To be bitchy with the celebs, yes, most of us are on here because we appreciate the level of class and respect that we treat each other with on this site. I know if I say something that is offensive to someone else, like what @AENFLEX did, I would apologize & restate what I meant with better phrasing. It’s not being touchy in any way, it’s called being respectful.

      • Lucinda says:

That may be historically true. I have no idea. But do you really believe those braids are spiritual for Beyonce? Might be. I just don’t see it though. I do dislike her braids though.

      • jaye says:

@Lucinda, TOK wasn’t saying that BEYONCE’S braids are of spiritual significance, she was pointing out that in certain African cultures, hair braiding was a way to connect or communicate with the gods.

      • Tania says:

She never mentioned short hair being empowering.

    • yolo112 says:

….good gravy… HOW did this turn into a racial thing!?! Man, yall are … in rare form today.

  11. Ag says:

    the braids look bad.

and yeah, why not “bang the help”? they’re around each other all the time, and maybe he’s a cool guy. or it’s a power thing for her. who knows.

  12. Talie says:

A lot of them screw their bodyguards. It’s like Rome — women of money and power have these sexy dudes they employ for protection, and bang when they want.

    • Hiddles forever says:

Bodyguards didn’t exist in Ancient Rome and women of power didn’t exist either if not for their husbands or fathers. What are you talking about? :/

      • Ennui says:

Actually, Ag does have a point. Wealthy men of ancient Greece and Rome certainly employed servants (eunuchs) to guard their female property (and especially for the Greeks, this was true). This doesn’t mean they all necessarily had their penises removed, but rather their testicles to make them infertile, and also lower their sex drive.

Some men were fully castrated (ack!), and if they survived the procedure, were left to guard the women, and in their cases, they could be creative if their female owner wanted a new sexual partner 😉

Roman women quite often had more freedom and latitude for controlling their own lives (at least the patrician class), and certainly could have had a bodyguard of their own choosing, no matter what their father, brother or husband said, if they were powerful enough in their own right to make such decisions…

So yes, their is a historical precedent for rich women to “bang the help” in the Greek and Roman histories.

        Source: my history degree. 🙂

      • Ange says:

Everything Ennui says. Patrician women were notorious for banging outside of the marriage, especially in the era towards the end of the republic onwards. There was a Clodia from the period who was gossiped about because she allegedly sat on one side of the Tiber and picked up dock workers from the other. This is the same Clodia who allegedly had an affair with the poet Catullus from memory. Once the republic ended women of the royal family pretty much did as they pleased if they had the upper hand over their husbands.

And as far as there being no bodyguards, PLEASE.

  13. Nev says:

Maybe they’ve been open this whole time.

  14. Dani2 says:

I think the braids are awesome, I look forward to wearing box braids this summer myself, some of the comments about her hair offend me a little bit, I feel like if a black woman isn’t wearing a weave then the whole world is like, “WTF is going on with your hair”?
There’s even a comment that went viral on her instagram page, “I hope you take those braids out before you come to Atlanta, I paid to see Beyonce, not Bonquisha”
    Smh.

    • Steph says:

Really? I’m white and on some women I think braids look amazing! But on Beyoncé, eh.

    • OriginalCrystal says:

Girl there was a post a year ago on Celebitchy when Blue Ivy was a baby and they went into Bergdorf Goodman and the comments were trash. Celebitchy at its worst, thank god some of those commenters left. ‘Look at that busted weave on top of her head’, ‘she looks ghetto’…

I’m definitely getting box braids in the summer. It takes forever to get them done though. It’s fine when I’m in London because there’s always a Ghanaian braiding in her house but when I’m home in NY…. Damn. Those prices are crazy. Thank god I’m not broke.

      • jaye says:

Yeah…I love box braids but I just don’t have the patience for sitting for hours to get them installed.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

I like the braids too, Dani2!

      • I’m not getting all the comments about the braids. They look fine. I think they would look better if it wasn’t blond, but that’s just me.

I have braids in my hair right now (am transitioning into dreadlocks, so everything’s going to be FUZZY for about a year), and I hate to think that some of my fellow posters would think I’m trashy….because I have braids in my hair.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

I don’t even know what to say about those comments—they’re that bad.
Sucks too because some of them were made by commenters I actually respect.

Just to reiterate: it’s ok to say you don’t like her hairstyle, it’s not ok to use a traditional black hairstyle as a reason to qualify someone as “trashy”.
It’s just all kinds of wrong.

I’ve always wished I could rock dreads, Virg 🙂

      • jaye says:

Welcome to the fam, Virg! I’m locing right now. My locs are in the “baby” stage. They are stretchy and soft, but I can’t wait for them to mature to the final stage. I want that, like, yesterday. LOL

    • Erinn says:

I like the braids. I’m almost translucently white, haha. But I think they’d be fun to have. I think I’d like Beyonce’s a little more if they were a bit shorter – but I think any hair that length regardless of style would be a bit of a pain in the ass. People tend to say some pretty offensive things without realizing it. Some people try to be mean, I think most people on here just don’t realize how they come off. I’m sure I’m guilty of that at times.

      • Dani2 says:

@Erinn I hear you hon, when I get them done, they’re never that long, and I like the commenters on here and I actually like that celebitchy is one of the more tame gossip sites, the meanest comment on here is usually nothing compared to the meanest comment on another site. I feel like the powers that be/the media/Hollywood have conditioned people’s minds to think that a black woman looking a little more European = beautiful/attractive but then a black woman with her natural hair or braids = ghetto/not so attractive. And I’m sure I’ve been guilty of that many times but in recent times, I’ve made a conscious effort to not come across as mean on the internet, but yes, I don’t think people intend to be hurtful.

      • Erinn says:

Also, I would like to add, I love when women wear their hair naturally. I think it’s drop dead gorgeous.

It’s funny how people get so hung up on what other people are doing with something as silly as hair when there are soooo many bigger issues going on around us.

      • jaye says:

Girl I would break my fool neck with braids that long, lol! I would get them tied up in a revolving door or they would get caught in an escalator. Yeah…I’m clumsy like that.

    • Dani2 says:

@Steph I don’t have a problem with your comment honey, it’s just that I feel like a lot of people (not just this site) don’t like when a black woman is wearing braids of her natural hair. It reminds me of a comment about Lupita’s hair, someone on here thought it looked like a dead animal, I mean c’mon, really? It’s a little offensive because this is what I and a whole bunch of women look like, I feel like there’s a widely negative opinion about black women’s hair. And I don’t like it.

@OC *Shakes head* That’s not surprising, I love this site and it’s commenters are usually amazing but saying anyone (not just Beyonce) looks “ghetto”? Not cool imo. And haha yes, box braids take forever so at the moment, I’m mostly just wearing protective styles with my natural hair then I’ll get box braids done for when I go over to the US in August.

@TOK 🙂 *hugs* I had a feeling you would have something positive to say about them 😉

      • Lindy says:

Yeah… and when those comments come over and over again, day in and day out, even when the commenters are not deliberately malicious or explicitly racist, it still becomes a major long-term source of depression and misery. There’s a concept called “microaggression” that does a good job explaining how it works.

      • MsMirna says:

Isn’t that just sad? That in this day and age, we as black women, STILL can’t wear our hair it the best way for how it grows out of our heads without being called “trashy” for it. Unreal.

    • Val says:

“I paid to see Beyonce, not Bonquisha” hahaha!

I don’t know, I like the braids, they’re a nice change. I wish I could try them, at least once in my life.
@OriginalCrystal I’m surprised you can’t find them cheap in NYC?! The US tend to be way cheaper than Europe, especially London!

      • Dani2 says:

@Val That’s what you’d think but every time I’ve been in the US and wanted to get box braids done, you’re looking at $150 to $220 whereas in London, for me, I’ve had it done for £50 or £60.

      • paranormalgirl says:

I have a friend who just spent over $200 to get her braids done in the Bronx!

      • jaye says:

I’ve never seen or heard of a salon that specialized in braids in the NYC area charge less than $100.

    • paranormalgirl says:

I love the braids. They’re a bit long, but to each her own.

    • Bridget says:

I wonder if that person that made the Bonquisha comment is going to get to the show and find that they don’t have a ticket anymore. The hair itself? The braids are a cute look, though it’s a little odd to me to think about there being an entire yard of fake hair there. But as they say, different strokes for different folks.

      • Kimberly says:

Bonquisha? LOL!!!!! I feel bad laughing at that.

The person who made that comment must be joking but still ridiculous.

    • Stacey Dresden says:

Yeah. And I guaran-f’n-tee you Beyonce’s weave is NOT dry and cheap, as some suggest.

I can’t believe I’m even typing this. But some people will invent things to hate on!

  15. Abby_J says:

Can we have their 15 minutes of fame be over now? I am so over them.

I actually think that I might prefer to go read more about George Clooney and his impending nuptials.

    • LeahMommy says:

15 minutes? I don’t think that applies to Bey and Jay, they are legitimate superstars like it or not and will be famous forever. It’s like wondering when Brangelina’s 15 minutes will be up. Ridiculous.

      • Abby_J says:

It’s a term. I am sure they aren’t insulted that I used it.

      • word says:

        @ LeahMommy

        Yup !

      • TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

Famous maybe but anyone can be famous these days, but respected as musicians and artists – no, beyonce is an average singer (squealer many say) of generic pop songs written and arranged by others, and there are many female singers with better voices, but with not her money, and J-Z isn’t even a good rapper even by today’s standards – tupac will be remembered long after j-z.
I will venture to say that bey won’t have the career that the great Tina Turner has – and she’s still singing in large venues in Europe.

      • LeahMommy says:

@TheOneandOnlyOnly…Yeah I agree anyone can be famous these days(remember Tan Mom? lol) but I’m talking Paul Mcartney famous, Diana Ross famous or Michael Jordan famous I’m not talking about talent here, we ALL know Bey or Jay will never be as talented as these people. But their level of fame has been so grand for so long, that I think they will be famous forever just like those people I just mentioned. And to be fair even though Bey and Jay are not as talented as some other greats, they have made an impact on music and I can respect that.

    • LeahMommy says:

Yes I am aware that it is “a term”, which is why I said it does not apply to Bey and Jay. The Kardashians? Yes, teen moms? Yes. But not Bey and Jay. And IMHO they would be insulted that their names is being associated with the term “15 minutes”.

  16. Patty says:

Those braids are about as awful as her semi new nose. She clearly got her nosed pinched. Not a good look.

  17. When you seek to control what people see, it’s usually because there are things you want to keep private. Totally normal in everyone’s life. I think the problem is that some public figures don’t understand/accept that they are public figures. Good person, bad person, shallow or interesting, calculating publicity addicts- all of it becomes public. If it’s just a facade it won’t last and the public rips them apart. Only getting worse (and quicker) with our technological age in the global village
My deep thought on gossip for the day
    lol

    • Val says:

It’s like selling a product – there are things you want to market about it, and things you don’t.

And you’ll have different markets and opinions… most of the world will consume Coca-Cola, but then some realise it’s actually full of crap, so there’s a small backlash, some stop drinking it, others continue,….

  18. paola says:

All I want to see now is this guy’s lips stained with Bey’s lipstick. That sounds so intriguing!

  19. LeahMommy says:

It’s funny how the mainstream press is only now running the stories that we’ve been hearing about in the urban world for years. When I first heard about that banging Julius thing on an urban blog years ago, I did not believe it because I was one of those people who bought into their perfect image. But later on and especially after elevatorbeating-gate, I don’t know. Their poker face is amazing and anything is possible but I still have my doubts as to why Jay would allow a man who is banging his wife to be on his staff. Then again they’re are a business, man.

    • delorb says:

Perhaps its because he’s not on HIS staff. She is independently wealthy. He could be on her payroll.

  20. Catherine says:

She reminds me of Joi from Friday with the braids.

  21. Charlotte says:

I’ve never really got the impression that Beyoncé was that sexual in and of herself. She’s beautiful and sexy and knows how to market her sex appeal, for sure, but I don’t get the feeling that she’s that bothered about having sex. And that’s no shade at all. I wasn’t bothered about it for years myself, even though I was constantly ascribed sexual attributes. Childhood traumas.

    • jaye says:

I always felt that way too. That’s why when I first heard “Drunk in Love” and “Partition” I had a “clutch the pearls” moment, LOL

  22. Kiddo says:

I wanna run to you-ooh-ooh ooh, I wanna run to you-ooh-oooh ooh. Won’t you hold me in your arms And keep me safe from harm….

    (Where’s mimif or mimic?)

  23. HH says:

I’m not the biggest fan of these braids, but the styling seems to look much better with her casual outfits (the one where she’s in the red sweatshirt). I also feel like she’s swagger-jacked her sister’s style over the past couple of years.

In regards to their relationship, like QQ said above, Beyonce and Jay-Z are in a relationship of equals. That counts for a lot, especially where money and love are concerned. No worry about gold diggers, etc. If anything , I think they will have/are having a rough patch that they will either: (a) endure because there’s a certain peace of mind (and image) that comes with dating your equal, or (b) another equal comes along and muddy’s the water. Re: Aniston/Pitt/Jolie drama.

    • OriginalCrystal says:

‘ I also feel like she’s swagger-jacked her sister’s style over the past couple of years.’

Oh yeah definitely. Solange’s style is great and you can see where she’s influenced her sister, it just doesn’t work on Beyoncé most of the time. If only Solange’s could influence her to get over that ridiculous blonde weave and go darker or even go natural for a change.

People on here acting like she wasn’t rocking braids through most of DC… smh.

      • delorb says:

        +1

Darker would be better, IMO, too.

      • Val says:

Would love to see a darker B!

Also, totally +1 on Solange’s style. She is awesome.

      • HH says:

Going natural would be great! But she is one of those celebrities that I understand why she wears a protective style (weave, braids, etc). I do agree about the hair color, though. It would be nice to see her go darker.

      • MsMirna says:

This! I thought I was the only one who noticed her gravitating more and more toward Solange’s style. Even Solange’s body type – long and lean.

  24. NerdMomma says:

I don’t like the term “the help.” Seal said that to shame Heidi Klum once upon a time, but in this day and age I don’t think that kind of classism applies to romantic relationships. Her bodyguard is very good looking and damn if it doesn’t sound like a hot story for her to be with him. I hope it’s true.

  25. eliza says:

First off, the egos on both Jay Z and Beyonce are nauseating. I am tired of her “Queen B ” b.s. She is wealthier than most but certainly not better.

Second, is this Jay Z’s camp’s way of Taking the heat off his wl known infidelities and trying to even out the score board in the public’s eye after “Solangegate”?

    • jaye says:

In her defense, her fans started that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard her refer to herself as “Queen B”.

  26. Bridget says:

A facade of style and designer clothing doesn’t necessarily make Beyonce ‘above’ anything, in the same way that a set of braids doesnt make her ‘trashy’. It’s entirely possible she’s been hooking up with her Bodyguard for years – and in fact wouldn’t it make more sense that someone who is so controlling of her image and privacy would choose to have an intimate relationship with someone that she not only trusts, but who has already signed an ironclad confidentiality agreement?

  27. Sisi says:

Idk, if beyonce has a side piece, I’d sooner expect a producer or something. The music process is where she keeps her controlled secrets mostly, that’s where she’s comfortable and feels she can get away with things, like the hush hush surprise album.

    • jaye says:

I don’t know, I’d think it’d be harder to be discreet with a producer or anyone active in the music industry. I don’t know if she is schtupping her body guard, but it would seem to me that she would be in a better position to keep that under wraps.

  28. Hissyfit says:

The length of the braid makes it tacky IMO. As for the bodyguard, I don’t doubt she’s banging someone on the sideline like her husband but I don’t think it’s someone beneath her. It’s probably somebody wealthy and powerful.

  29. Patty Cake says:

Braids don’t make Beyoncé and Jay Z trashy, however, Jay z’s continuous promotion of violence through song does an his reference to women as bitches and hoes. It’s annoying because most if not all rappers refer to women as this, so in my opinion he is gutter and trashy. The way Beyoncé over sexualizes herself is so disgusting. Almost every song on her album is about sex. I don’t give a rats ass that her songs are about having sex with her husband. I remember the days where rap and R&B music was about treating others and yourself with dignity and respect and helping your fellow man out, but it’s not anymore. I remember the days of TLC’s creep and the fugees and OutKast’s you need to get up get out and get something. And if people want to pretend that the music promoted today out of these genres actually promote a positive message as they did back the, then you are simply lying to yourself. And before anyone says anything about my me being prejudice, I’d just like you to know that I am very proud to be black.

    • Sisi says:

R&b from the nineties is unrivaled, nothing produced later comes close imo (I miss En Vogue)

      • TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

WOw sisi, mentioning En Vogue – i’m from the 80s-90s and En Vogue was huge and had rock tinged songs. THey were right up there with Pearl Jam and Nirvana and Tupac in terms of media attention and radio play. It would be interesting to speculate how big they would be today when in their prime and with today’s social media and wrap-around media world to assist their promotion.
Truthfully, they were better than bey.

      • Sisi says:

        @theone

        Truthfully I TOTALLY agree 😀

      • Mingy says:

En Vogue! Jodeci was everything to me in the 90s.

    • lrm says:

well, I am not black if it must be known and also I totally agree with you. Not just rap and R and B, but other genres were also so much higher quality and integrity in the 90’s. There were many inspirational and talented singers and MANY women solo artists [both white and black-Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Sarah Mclachlan, etc etc]-they may be still around but at that time, it felt like such a high point and that the music industry foretold changes to come in our world-En vogue was the best! Heck, even the cheesy 80’s pop music sounds good in many cases, compared to today’s c*rap where they layer in different singers voices who were never in the studio together, yet call it a ‘collaboration.’Um, no.
Santana did a couple of collaborations-Shaman and Supernatural. THOSE were collaborations. This technology produced dubbing we hear today (where ‘every’ freakin’ genre is represented in a single song) is a collaboration between music industry execs and their wallets.

I don’t find beyonce trashy. I think she’s beautiful. And seems sweet, actually, albeit narcissistic. A sweet narcissist (: And yes, I realize nearly all celebs and superstars are narcissistic too. Doesn’t negate the discussion re: beyonce or single individuals though. Also, I think some braids look good and some don’t. And it’s not automatically racist if someone dislikes them. Things are not so singular.

      • Sisi says:

That’s the last point where there was still some substance to pop and albums still mattered.
Not that long ago I watched a documentary about the early popular music industry of the 20th century and how it went from rather vapid producer made singles to artist made conceptual LPs and EPs and it changed not only the market and demand but also the quality of released tracks. The coming of digital music has reverted the music industry back now. And the nineties were the albums last meaningful moment before it imploded.

  30. Patty Cake says:

And those who are being disgusting and saying she’s trashy because she wears braids, please take your racial trolling somewhere else. Those braids look nice. I Like braids and wear them too.

    • MsMirna says:

Preach! I think most people have latent biases and prejudices that they don’t even realize they have.

  31. Liz says:

The braids are too long. It looks like she shaved a little of her nose from the sides.

  32. swack says:

I love braids and really admire those who can sit for the time it takes to put them in. But I really don’t like these on her. Maybe it’s the length of them. Shorter ones maybe would look better.

  33. decorative item says:

Well, I think it’s very practical in a handy and convenient kind of a way.

  34. Penelope says:

I think the braids look nice on her.

  35. lrm says:

I don’t think she seems trashy at all…Rhianna is, to me…I know Rhianna ‘lives here life her way’ etc but she just comes off as try hard and trashy. I wonder if she will become more interesting though as she matures-b/c I think Rhianna has more going on ‘in there’ as far as depth, than Bey does. But, Bey is a consummate performer and amazingly skilled at it. I think her perfectionist goals are admirable and aspirational,, honestly. She works hard, thinks well of herself and approaches her life accordingly. I’m white, btw. I’m not understanding all the ‘trashy’ comments. But that Jay Z comment in response to Harry Belafonte: Wow. Just wow.

Anyway, I think it’s always a ‘thing’ when a person ‘rises up’-whatever color or ethnicity they happen to be-they are expected to take others with them and they also are humans, enjoying their success and wealth. Stay true to their roots but it’s probably hard to be humble when you live in a different world now, I am guessing. Similar to Oprah and many other celebrities.

  36. GIRLFACE says:

I think the braids are pretty. I don’t know why she would cheat but if she did, I could definitely see it with someone that she trusts that’s “safe” that wouldn’t betray confidences or speak up to the press. He is well educated also. I just googled him. Not a talker or a trashy guy who would go public with anything it doesn’t seem. Very good looking man and he’s from the Netherlands and speaks five languages so, he’s pretty sexy in my book. It wouldn’t surprise me if they allowed each other side dishes every now and then. Jay and Bey seem kind of open that way. Maybe the elevator thing was a spat related to one of these situations.

  37. G says:

Ummm I brought this up last year and got dead silence around here. This is old news.

  38. Irishserra says:

I’m not sure I agree that she’s not as elitist as Gwyneth. Reports regarding Beyonce and Jay-Z’s actions when it comes to mingling with the peasants, along with Jay-Z’s comments push me in the direction of thinking they are VERY elitist. But whatever. I’m not affected by it and I’m not a fan, so I’m not subjected to their music.

But what does stand out to me about her is that she does not seem like someone who is passionate about anything. Just a kind of a go-with-the-flow girl who gets swept up through life and isn’t even really aware of what is going on around her. Again, crazed fans, I said “seems.” This is an opinion. This is not hate; it’s just my own perception. I’d like to see her get all fired up and beat the crap out of someone, gush annoyingly about her child, or whinge on about how hard it is to be a working mom. Anything. Some form of humanity. But she appears so robotic to me.

  39. jilliiii says:

her hair reminds me of Craig’s girlfriend on Friday. and now that hoochie momma song is stuck in my head….

    • G says:

“Hood rat hood rat hoochie momma! She aint nothin but a hoochie momma!”

“You know I lovvve yo momma!” LOL!!

      Dammit Jiliiii!! LOL!!!

  40. Francis says:

I also think the braids are pretty.
I like Beyoncé but never been so wild about JayZ.
In Europe they were running some ads of Beyoncé with dark hair and she looks even more stunning.

  41. mg says:

The braids make her look a lot younger, but nowhere near as beautiful as usual (I’m not a fan, but she’s a pretty lady).

  42. DarkSparkle says:

Wasn’t there a recent BI about a bodyguard playing grabass? This fits…

  43. moana says:

Late to the party. I am lighter than white and love black hairstyles when they’re close and closer to natural. The little twisted spikes make me envious!
Beyoncé goes out of her way to portray herself as refined and classy. It’s her arrogance that puts most people off. Has nothing to do with race, ppl dislike Goopy for the same reason.
“Trashy” transcends race and does not define anyone of any color. You can be arrogant and trashy at the same time, btw. Beyoncé is a bot onstage and not particularly talented. As others have said, she and JZ are a brand. Locked in by lots and lots of gang/drug money. Money which never buys class.

with all the instagram/tumbler photos that she posts, that girl spends hours on herself. The vanity is what I cannot stand about her. She s completely uninteresting to me because of this. She isn’t posting about architecture, culture, experiences; it appears to be more posts of her and her clothes and hair and nails. This is not what I aspire for my daughters. The world is on the other side of the lens. And she has access to interesting places and people. ugh.

Cant believe this conversation has turned into a race debate. Really ladies??? Well, I for one never ever got the vibe of Bey as “trashy.” A determined narciscist? Yes. A cold hearted materialist? Yes.
Rabidly money hungry? Yes, yes and yes. But Ive never seen her as low class or trashy.
And, for the record, I didnt agree with how she treated her father. My opinion is that no matter what, thats your father and she shouldnt had fired him or cut him out of her life. She could have demoted him, punished him, read him the riot act and taught him a lesson. But how she disowned him was far too harsh. Maybe that could be translated as trashy??
PS: I dont think she is sleeping with her body guard as she is gay anyway, isent she?? She always came across as way gay to me. Her all female band too.

Banging the help is something many elitists do. I have had friends who come from wealthy families and their parents have been caught banging the help and other employees of the household including architects and construction workers. Everybody has needs, and if those needs aren’t being met, many women from upper-middle class and wealthy households end up banging the help, an associate of her husband, or even random young gigolos. I don’t think this would be beneath either Beyonce or Gwyneth Paltrow. Clearly there is more to meets the eye with these celebrities and their dysfunctional marriages.

I think that Beyoncé is acting amongst all the media with pride and keeping very much in the public. I also think that Beyoncé expresses her feelings with the style of her hair. At this moment with the focus on the elevator drama between her husband and sister, I think that Beyoncé wants to be seen in a natural light. That is why she wears white and actually wore a beige waist cincher twice. I also think that Beyoncé was fortunate to rank in the top 20 on Forbes. Beyoncé entire existence is weighted upon how the public views her and associations. The woman of many grammys, talents, gifts and selflessness is holding up well and there has been no talk of cancelling their joint tour even with the publicity that has only opened up pages of comments from her fans, followers and those who wanted their opinions heard.

She’s just trashy to me. Her dancing, her song lyrics…not classy.

And I bet there probably was something to that story some reputable paper was going to put out about her and President Obama.

For years many have speculated this. Julius is probably the closest person to Bey. He has been by her side for a very long time.
