Stacy Keibler: ‘Pregnancy is not a time to have an excuse to eat donuts’

FFN_Keibler_Stacy_ROCPREM_EXC_061914_51455826

Stacy Keibler obviously knows everything about everything, especially when it comes to pregnancy. Stacy is far along in her first pregnancy (with husband Jared Pobre) and she’s been giving interviews that are on the friendly side of preachy and judgy. She’s been doing a healthy, organic diet throughout her pregnancy which means she has the right to food-shame other women about what they eat during their pregnancies. Ah, the judgy motherhood branding. Stacy is going to have a legit second career just by judging other women.

Skinny mini! During her first-ever pregnancy, Stacy Keibler hasn’t had any naughty cravings, she tells Us Weekly — and she urges other moms-to-be to avoid over-indulging while they’re expecting, too.

“I really truly believe that pregnancy is not a time to have an excuse to eat donuts,” the Supermarket Superstar host, 34, told Us exclusively at an event for Baby Jogger Vue strollers at baby boutique Bel Bambini in West Hollywood July 10. “I haven’t had any cravings believe it or not!” George Clooney’s ex added.

In fact, Keibler is eating healthier than ever. “[Pregnancy] is a time to be as healthy as you can be and build the foundation for your baby. I think that you should be even more conscious of what you’re doing.”

Although the mom-to-be, who wed her baby daddy Jared Pobre last fall, admits she “might have a pizza party once in a while,” she otherwise maintains a strict organic diet.

“Everything I eat or put on my skin is organic. I only use organic products. Everything I put on my skin, basically I can eat,” the model tells Us.

Keibler, who is due next month, went on to gush that she’s had “the best year of my life,” adding, “I’m so grateful for my life, my husband, the new baby on the way. Life is all about timing and everything happens for a reason. I literally wake up every day and say how grateful I am.”

The blonde revealed she and Pobre “can’t wait” to be parents and “everything’s ready — the nursery is ready to go! … We’ve read a million books, [and] we did a full house detox [of anything unsafe.]”

The prepared parents-to-be have even already decided on a name for their baby girl. “It’s a secret for now,” Keibler says, “We just cannot wait to meet her. I feel like we have such a connection already. I feel like we intuitively talk to each other, and so I just can’t wait to actually meet her.”

[From Us Weekly]

I can’t believe that women judge other women about their pregnancy cravings. Granted, I’ve never been pregnant, but I have had extreme PMS moments when I would have killed someone for some chocolate. My belief is that it’s great when women try to stay healthy during their pregnancies, but if you want a donut (pregnant or not), eat a donut and don’t let judgy bitches shade you for it. You’re growing another human. That deserves the occasional donut. Live and let live.

Also: “I literally wake up every day and say how grateful I am.” I hope she literally does that. I hope she literally wakes up and literally turns to her husband and literally says “I am literally so grateful that you are literally not George Clooney.”

    Oh Stacy, shut up!

    • Anthea says:

Thank god she’s telling us all this stuff though because I don’t think women knew a THING about pregnancy and diet until Stacey came along and put us all straight.

      • Sherry says:

Exactly. I have three kids. With my first, I tried to eat really healthy. One day I craved Brussel Sprouts and ate an entire bag in one sitting. However, later in the pregnancy, I was craving Taco Bell tacos and would stop every day on my way home from work and devour three before heading home for dinner. My recommendations? Eat as healthy as you can, go with your cravings (as long as they’re not hurting you or the baby) and enjoy yourself.

      • swack says:

@sherry, with my first pregnancy I craved watermelon (luckily it was summer and watermelon was cheap). I ate two large watermelons in a week and a half, by myself. With my third it was oranges. I agree with you about eating.

      • The Wizz says:

I craved cheesecake with my first…

    • Birdix says:

seriously, I’m not even pregnant and her carrying on is making me feel grumpy and inadequate. the thought of a literal donut makes me feel a little better…

    • sunsetsnow says:

      Hmmmmmm…Krispy Kreme. Shut up, Stacy!

    • nicegirl says:

      Literally

    • mg says:

But she’s right…eating a lot of fat and sugar during pregnancy is bad for both mom and baby. If one waits for a diagnosis of gestational diabetes it’s too late to fix the damage done. I worked with an internationally renowned maternal fetal medicine obstetrician (basically a doc for high risk pregnancies) and he counseled all of his patients in this manner.

Of course it’s also bad for other reasons to starve oneself during pregnancy, but she’s not advocating that and it seems like you guys are shooting the messenger here.

Also, what’s wrong with reducing fetal exposure to chemicals? BPA exposure is linked to miscarriage (causal? we don’t know yet). A well-regarded medical sourse reports: “…environmental endocrine disrupters are highly prevalent in food, cosmetics, and other materials. For example, phthalates, known endocrine disrupters, are associated with ASD (ASN Neuro 2012; 4:e00089). Until specific etiologies are known, clinicians should encourage women during childbearing ages, and especially pregnant patients, to try to avoid endocrine disrupters.”

      • maybeiamcrazy says:

It is not that she is particularly wrong, it is the fact that she is so f-cking preachy about it.

      • Anthea says:

MG, I don’t think anyone here disagrees with that. I think it’s more that, like you, we knew it already. Most people do.

      • Marigold says:

No one asked her to be their messenger.

      • Natty says:

I don’t disagree that eating too much fat and sugar is bad for everyone, but I have to take serous issue with your implication that pregnant women eat themselves into gestational diabetes. Pregnancy hormones cause every woman to need increased glucose because they inhibit glucose uptake. Some peoples’ pancreases can’t keep up with the increased demand. My second pregnancy was much more hormonal than my first: vomiting before I even got a confirmed test, PUPPPS in the second trimester, and a GD diagnoses at 24 weeks. I had 0 risk factors for GD and I hadn’t been overloading on carbs or sugar, because those foods actually made me sicker. Treatment did “fix” the damage I had incurred up to that point (which was mainly excessive weight gain) — I lost 7 pounds in the first couple weeks of taking medicine and following the diet. My weight gain slowed down and I was able to keep it to 30 lbs total and I had a perfectly healthy 7 lb 2 oz baby who had perfect blood sugars after birth. Even with medication and working closely with my nutritionist, my blood sugar counts were often higher than ideal, especially my fasting sugar, which is virtually impossible to control. Implying that women who have GD have brought it on themselves and that their babies are going to be “damaged” because of it is out of line.

      • ol cranky says:

sooo, someone eating some donuts during their pregnancy automatically puts them on track from gestational diabetes?! yeah, your comment sounded just as ridiculous and overbearing as the way Keibler preached. You can eat healthy and still indulge in cravings for “junk food” and not be on the track for gestational diabetes or causing any harm to yourself or jeopardizing your pregnancy/unborn child so there’s no need to imply, as you do, that telling Keibler to get off her high-horse is an endorsement for gluttony or eating a bunch of donuts and other junk food every day during your pregnancy.

      • Cha(r)meleon says:

        Gestational diabetes by eating donuts?
Which pregnant woman does seriously eat so many donuts and nothing but donuts? Because that is what it takes to cause diabetes.
Most pregnant women do eat healthy and put on some pounds which is normal and healthy and …

Also unlike Stacey most pregnant women carry on working nearly till giving birth.

Also unlike Stacey most pregnant women have to care for the unborn’s siblings already.

Also unlike Stacey most pregnant women don’t have a housekeeper and a chauffeur and a nutritionist … and all that stuff she enjoys grace of her rich husband.

Also unlike Stacey most pregnant women didn’t consider marriage a career.

What is it with rich women to shame and blame their poorer sisters? Because that’s what it is. She is shaming and blaming people for being poorer than she is. Which is nearly a ridiculous move as she isn’t rich – her husband is. She can hardly claim merits for the wealth at her disposal.
She reminds me of Gwyneth. Except Gwyneth earned some serious money.

      • Cici says:

Finally, someone with some sense into them! Now everybody’s gonna jump them because “a doughnut will not give you gestational diabetes”. It’s not, if it’s only one, but it almost never is with cravings (PMS or pregnancy). Nutritional education is what pregnant mothers, men and women need.

    • Pandy says:

I’ve never had kids but like everything in life, eating junk food in moderation while pregnant should be okay I would think? Taking her “advice” with a grain of salt. After all, she makes her living looking good in a bikini. That’s her world.

      • Lotta says:

Not all women loose their baby weight by breastfeeding. I had three kids and I never gained more then the baby weight while pregnant. Then I breastfeed each of them for about two years and I ballooned everytime. The breastfeeding made me so hungry and all those nights walking up to take care of a screaming baby made me desperate for quick energy. After I finished breastfeeding each child I went on a really healthy diet and exercised my way back.
Every woman is diffrent. All the women in my family seems to balloon during the breastfeeding period.

    • Belle Epoch says:

This is literally sanctimonious sh-t. Of course pregnancy is a time to have a doughnut – and enjoy it and be happy! No you should not live on buttered Pop Tarts like Jessica Simpson. YES you should definitely eat a donut once in awhile if that’s what you want. If you breastfeed it all works out. Maybe she has no plans to breastfeed because of implants? I would literally have a problem with that!

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

She is starting to remind me of Goop. She is a first time mother. Nothing is more irritating that first time parents who know everything and feel the need to share their wisdom. Sit down Stacy.

    • pantalones en fuego says:

Haha! I was just coming here to say shut up Stacy. She and Clooney are both insufferable. They should’ve stayed together.

    • BabySwans says:

Idk guys. Both my OBGYN and husband, who is a doctor, told me I ate myself into Gestational Diabetes. It was my fault I got it because I gained too much weight. I’m not saying anyone is wrong, but they are both very good doctors who are very intelligent.

      • Natty says:

All my healthcare providers assured me that there was nothing I could have done to avoid GD. I also did a TON of research after I was diagnosed, and everything I found said that it’s hormonal and other than trying to be a healthy weight before pregnancy there’s not much you can do to stop it. Excessive weight gain is a symptom of GD – I gained 25 lbs by 24 weeks. I felt guilty about getting GD as it was, and for having difficulty controlling my blood sugar even though I was following my treatment plan perfectly. I can’t imagine how bad I would have felt if people were blaming me for it, too. My nutritionist was the best – I saw her almost every week because I had random high sugars and she told me I was doing everything perfectly, I just had a challenging case. Right after delivery my bold sugar was 220. Within 2 hours, it was normal and I never had another high one in the 48 hours they monitored me.

      • Lauraq says:

I know a woman who got GD because she said “I’m pregnant, it’s my time to eat ice cream every night.” So it can happen.

    • homegrrrl says:

Look at her hairline, it looks like she’s losing hair! This is what happens when women “diet” when preggers. So sad! I knew the cutest blonde, and she insisted on staying vegan during pregnancy. Her hair fell out grew back salt and pepper!
I went with my cravings, as all women should, pregnant or not. I happened to crave whole food, paleo style, and couldn’t’ touch junk food it made me ill to smell it. I was looking forward to eating crap unabashedly for the 1st time in my life! I ate chocolate at 32mos and broke out in hives…ugh!!

  2. starrywonder says:

Wow. She’s gone downhill so fast for me. Just shut it Stacy.

    • Size Does Matter says:

I used to like her, but I like donuts better. Literally.

      • starrywonder says:

        Ha! Me too. Literally.

      • littlestar says:

        Mmmm hmmm!

Funnily enough, I have been craving donuts all morning here at work. Tim Horton’s has a new birthday cake donut out this summer and it is DELISH!

      • Sighs says:

I have been in the most horrible mood all day, went to the store and got doughnuts. I blame Stacy! :shakes fists:

    • Size Does Matter says:

Some donut company should capitalize on this somehow. Maybe an ad with a line of pro wrestlers and pregnant ladies coming out the door. Something like, ” All cravings welcome.”

    • Becky1 says:

Yeah really. That’s great that she’s happy but I really hate when people say “everything happens for a reason.” That’s a throwaway statement. I know she’s harmless but people should really think twice before saying that. There are many tragic (and wonderful) things that happen that don’t happen for a reason, IMHO. I feel like people tend to use that statement when they are either really happy about how something has worked out or in a misguided attempt to provide comfort when something senseless happens.

      • homegrrrl says:

Bravo! I detest that bs new age statement, “everything happens for a reason”, it’s like saying to divorcing couples amidst a custody battle, “you came together for those kids”. It may be true, but there’s a time to save those know it all smug pseudo taoist “your suffering is so meant to be” sayings. Ugh.

  3. paola says:

She sounds more and more like Goop. And it’s not a compliment.
I eat donuts and I’m not even pregnant. But i am glutin intolerant. That’s how much i love a sweet treat once in a while! Who cares about judgement when food is one of the few pleasures in life?

    • Audrey says:

      I ate a donut today.

And my uterus is closed for business. I just wanted a donut (since giving birth, I’m awkwardly more in touch with my body. I get ovulation cravings and cramps)

    • Antonym says:

The headline reminded me that I had a donut waiting in the kitchen. Yum! Maybe I’ll scroll back up and read while I munch 🙂

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

Sorry Paola, I didn’t mean to copy what you said. I posted before I had read through. She is acting very goopish. Obviously everyone should eat healthy as much as possible. Especially pregnant women. But all things in moderation without judging the crap out of others.

  4. Hannah says:

She is so annoying. When is her 15 min up?

  5. blue marie says:

    Why is she still around?

  6. Allie says:

First off, bahaha I LITERALLY was just going to write something similar to the last paragraph. Secondly, I just want to eat a donut in slow motion in front of her face.

  7. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

She isn’t saying anything original, but she seems to believe she invented the healthy pregnancy. I always rooted for her, but she’s starting to grate.

    • Steph says:

She is starting to grate. I was neutral on her before but am slowly moving to dislike. People have cravings and it’s totally okay. Usually around my period I CRAVE greasy food something fierce and usually, I give in. Normally, I try to eat healthy, organic if possible but I don’t feel bad to indulge or have a treat. It’s just food. This type of strict “eat this” and “don’t eat that EVER” business is, I think, what starts people down the road of an unhealthy relationship with food. I have worked, and am still working on, overcoming my unhealthy food relationship. It’s really hard. I wish celebrities like her would just shut up.

  8. Panache says:

She thinks she could “basically” eat organic skincare and make-up products? I think I’d rather have the donut.

    • Snazzy says:

haha me too! Why would I want to eat my face cream?

    • msw says:

I raised an eyebrow at that because”organic” doesn’t mean “food grade.”

      • Esmom says:

I know, me too. Did she mean to say edible?

      • JenniferJustice says:

Must be food grade because she doesn’t seem to have a problem having non-organic substances permanently implanted in her chest! Am I the only one who finds it nauseatingly hypocritical to shout about organic diet and skin care from the rooftops with silicone baloons in the body that could possibly leak and will definitely impede breastfeeding? I couldn’t care less if women get cosmetic surgery. I couldn’t care less if they feel the need to spread their word but it frustrates me to no end when they pick and choose what to care and preach about that only align with their own specific priorities. Come on!

  9. Sighs says:

Maybe she wouldn’t be as annoying if she ate a doughnut.

    • jaye says:

She’d be singing a different tune if she’d had the donut I got from an Amish bakery on Saturday. It was a salted caramel donut and it was smack your mama delicious!

  10. MrsBPitt says:

Thank you dr. Keibler for telling the rest of us morons that it is a good idea to eat a healthy diet while pregnant! Duh…I don’t know what us dumb bunnies would do without celebrities giving us advice on how to think and live! Duh…..

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Yeah, I thought pregnancy was the perfect time to fill your body with artificial flavors and beer. Was I wrong? Duh…

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

Wait a second–beer has antioxidants, iron, Calcium, protein and phosphates. It’s practically a health food!*

        *is what I tell myself

      • Birdix says:

and the barley in beer supposedly stimulates milk production, so there’s that too (sorry if tmi)

      • Kiddo says:

I thought vodka had more nutrients?

      • mimif says:

        Guinness for strength!

      • Anthea says:

My grandmother was pregnant in Egypt in the 50’s and the milk out there was poor quality so the army doctor prescribed her Guinness for the ‘nutrients’.

  11. Jacqueline says:

I’m sure if she’s “read all the books” she’s literally an expert. I would say get back to is when she has a squirming baby in her arms who can’t be reasoned with by a book, but she’d never let us know that part. It’s gotta look perfect and happy and easy for her ex. Aren’t you glad she DIDN’T get that Clooney ring? Cause then she’d really be in our faces.

What pregnancy is not is a time to shame other women!!

  12. Hannah says:

Oh Stacey, shut up. Pregnancy, like any time in your life – everything in moderation (excluding the things your Dr tells you that you absolutely need to be careful of/completely avoid)

There isn’t anything that she is doing that will prevent something bad from happening that the M2B eating a doughnut every now and then will have happen to her. Cop on, Stacy. I used to love you in WWE!

  13. bammer says:

I’m sure she’s always denied herself food. Most of these women pursuing careers in Hollywood are hyper vigilant about not having an ounce of fat. That’s why they’re so paranoid about going Kardashian during their pregnancy. It’s not about health, it’s about staying skinny by any means necessary.

    • snowflake says:

      exactly.

    • RobN says:

When being fit is part of your job description, you probably do take it more seriously than a woman who can go back to her job regardless of her weight. Takes me a year to take off the baby weight, nobody at work cares. If your job is your looks then there is no paycheck. Makes that donut a lot more expensive than it would be for me.

  14. AG-UK says:

House detox??? WTH, well I didn’t do any house detox, I think I just kept saying NO and he realised those were places he couldn’t go. My friend put things on her toilet seats that I couldn’t take off. Yes Stacy enough some things you can think but not say out loud.

  15. littlemissnaughty says:

Don’t tell me when to have a donut! I’m not pregnant, never have been but girl, if I want a donut you better not comment on it. For the love of gawd, I’m a grown-ass woman and extremely tired of d-listers telling me how to live my life, preggo or not.

    • Famished says:

      @Little Miss Naughty,
Can Keibler even be considered D-list at this point? I mean, she is no longer connected to an A-list celeb. She is really Z-list in my opinion.

      • littlemissnaughty says:

LOL I’m not sure she’s on any list at this point but she does make it on the blogs and used to date Clooney. So I guess D-list is generous but hey, it was Monday morning and I was tired.

I HATE it when celebs get preachy.

  16. qm89 says:

Are we back on the LITERALLY train. Seriously?
    😛

    • melior says:

I’m more annoyed by ‘seriously’ than by ‘literally’. When people ask me ‘seriously’ I want to throw stuff at them.

  17. E.L. Fudge says:

Surely she can make an exception for Keebler EL Fudge Doublestuff?? Come on, Stacey, we’re family!

  18. Snazzy says:

Bitch please … pregnant or not, if I want a donut, I will have a donut… be healthy yes, but to be annoyingly preachy – no thanks

    • starrywonder says:

I feel like this should be my FB status today.

      • Snazzy says:

After reading some of the other posts – Bethany Frankel in her kid’s pyjamas, the stupid rich fashion lady … I think we may need to cut our FB status to simply “bitch please”

  19. Audrey says:

    Eat a donut

Should you use pregnancy as an excuse to eata dozen donuts? No. But you have to occasionally indulge, pregnant or not.

That being said, I do see a lot of people overindulge while pregnant. They go nuts about eating for two and regret it later on. But that’s their choice and it just means more work after baby (aka Jessica Simpson).

It’s only bad when you exclusively eat junk cause what you eat is what baby eats

    • Dany says:

right, some women believe the “eating for two-myth” and think that is the must-do when pregnant and then they overindulge. You can eat the same amounts as before, no need to overdo.

      • Audrey says:

Yeah a few friends thought that whatever they ate wouldn’t matter. That the weight would magically fall off after having the baby. They still ate nutritious stuff but added on a bunch of junk too

Remember how many people were shocked that Kate still had a belly the day after having George? Women who haven’t had a kid don’t know some of the stuff like that about after birth life.

    • Stef Leppard says:

ITA! Being healthy while pregnant is important, but being pregnant is definitely an excuse to eat a donut! She is so ridiculous. Indulging in some treats during pregnancy isn’t going to harm your baby in any way. Also I think it is incredibly messed up that the article calls her “skinny mini” as if that’s something a pregnant woman should strive for! I think she’s pretty tall so she’s not going to blow up like someone who’s five feet tall, and it’s so wrong to shame someone who gains a lot of weight during pregnancy. If you are being healthy and eating when you’re hungry, then your body will gain however much weight it needs to.

      • Audrey says:

She’s having a completely unrealistic pregnancy.

Have you seen What To Expect When You’re Expecting? She’s the lady pregnant with twins.

No cravings? Extra energy? Connected with your baby completely? Lucky or lying

      • RobN says:

Audrey, I don’t know what that means. Since when is it unrealistic to try and have a healthy pregnancy and eat in a healthy manner? Donuts have no special power, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have one.

  20. Pumpkin Pie says:

—-I hope she literally wakes up and literally turns to her husband and literally says “I am literally so grateful that you are literally not George Clooney.” —- Awesome line.

  21. Willa says:

I loved mini cchocolate doughnuts while I was pregnant! 🙂

  22. Greenieweenie says:

I ate well, gained about 25 lbs pregnant, ran a 10k four days before going into labour….and had the worst, most miserable experience you could have with childbirth this side of stillborn.

    So….there’s that, Stacy KnowsItAll.

  23. MM3 says:

The point is that she is right. More research is being published confirming the negative neurological/developmental effects of pesticides (present on your foods) and the tremendous amount of chemicals i(household products: face creams, deodorant, shampoo, lipstick, laundry soap, degassing mattresses, room paint, etc., etc.) on the developing baby. The effects are cumulative, which is to say – being exposed nail polish remover on it’s own isn’t so bad…but in a day we are exposed to *thousands* of chemicals and our bodies can’t detox it all. Babies are now born with over 200 chemicals in their umbilical cords. I think it makes sense to watch what we eat and how we live – pregnant or not.

    • mimif says:

^^This. I’m not a fan of Keebler and to each their own, but the levels of toxic chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis is astounding.

    • Leftovers says:

I completely agree with this. I think when you look beyond the sanctimony, the message is positive. People should start taking ownership of what they consume, digest and apply to their skin.

I make my own deodorant out of coconut oil, and every single ingredient I use is food grade. It works a treat and I know what I am applying.

Never having been pregnant nor planning to be, I also know that should I ever be pregnant, I would redouble all efforts to ensure the baby would be less exposed to all sorts of harmful substances.

    • mg says:

      +1000

  24. Jess says:

Alright now she took it too far, I defended her on the last thread and said she didn’t sound too judgey, but this time she sounds like a jerk. We’re all different and our bodies and hormones react differently to pregnancy and those cravings. I got lucky and only wanted fruits and veggies, likely because my pre pregnancy diet consisted of pizza and beer most nights, but I had friends who could’ve killed anyone standing in the way of a pop tart or captain d’s, I try not to judge! That’s great she’s able to control herself or whatever, but it’s time for her to hush now.

  25. serena says:

It’s always funny to read her interviews, she can’t stop shading George, not even once.
“The best year of my life” and “Life is all about timing and everything happens for a reason” oh and ” I’m so grateful blabla”.. we get it, you’re SO over George you feel the need to say it a million times. This does not make it more believable.

    • melior says:

I actually enjoy these subtle digs at Clooney. I can’t stand the guy and his temporary contracts with women.

  26. msw says:

I am so glad I don’t live in the mindset that I am to be unfulfilled, all the time. When I was not pregnant, if I wanted a donut, I had one. When I was, if I wanted a donut, I had one. If she wants to avoid sugar, fine, I am doing that right now too. I guess I just don’t get why people think everything is their business when you are the one who is pregnant.

  27. EEV says:

5 months into my first pregnancy, and by far the most annoying thing about it is people (other than my doctor) telling me what to do or not to do, including stupid C-list celebrities.

Everything in moderation, Kiebler. Healthy pregnancy, yes. But healthy also means not depriving yourself if you want a damn doughnut!

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Congratulations, and I can only imagine how weird it must be to suddenly have everybody and their brother feeling free to boss you around. Have a happy pregnancy and enjoy! Uh oh, I’m doing it, too.

    • gin-genie says:

      Totally agree!

I’m 7 months into my first, and the aspect I hate most is being told what to do, or rather, what not to do. I’m a reproductive biologist…and still I get constant (often contradictory) advice from people about it!! I only pay attention to the doc, and ignore everyone else, but it still riles me that just because I’m growing a human I get treated as nothing more than an incubator. There’s nothing wrong with the odd treat so long as you’re getting all the other nutrients you and baby require, and you’re within all healthy ranges. For me I abandoned abstinence when the doc became concerned about me losing weight.

    • EEV says:

Thanks, GoodNames! “Enjoy” is definitely advice worth taking. 🙂

And gin-genie, OMG YES I GET IT!! I had someone (ok, my FIL) tell me to scale back my exercise despite not even knowing how much I exercise. And if I try to lift so much as a feather it’s game over: “NO, you aren’t supposed to lift anything!” Holy moly – I’m pregnant, not dying!

In the end, I try to remember that it comes from a place of love and concern, but gosh it can be tiring.

  28. Sam says:

Uh, I’m seeing some roots in her hair. I did not know they can make wholesome, organic hair dyes. Maybe she doesn’t count things that go on her head?

    • starrywonder says:

I love the smell of shade in the morning.

    • Lex says:

The hair colour I have put in is organic. It is amazing and makes my hair feel great. Look up the Australian brand Original Mineral. They’re branching out to the US too.

      • Sam says:

But even if its organic, she seems to be lightening her hair. If its lightening, she’s using bleach. My mom used henna during her pregnancies, but henna can only darken your hair, not lighten it. It seems a tad hypocritical of her to critique women indulging in sweets but then do something so completely unecessary as hair dying. I don’t judge women who do dye their hair during pregnancy, but I don’t judge women who eat donuts either. Stacy doesn’t seem to be consistent though.

  29. Lady says:

And she’ll snap back in less than a month and this is why. Judgey, preachy, snobby or no… the woman isn’t wrong.

  30. Anon says:

Hmmmi interestng. i remember when Jessica got trashed by many for eating but now its ok and women should not trash other women.Jessica got it a lot meaner then Kim by a long shot too.

I always kinda liked Stacy but she does grate these days as others have said.

  31. elle says:

    SHUT IT, clooneys ex.

I ate all i wanted when i was pregnant,: donuts, tacos, chips, burgers, everything, & now five months later, im in the best shape of my life & i got a perfect little boy.

    Mm donuts… I miss them.

  32. Faye says:

Not sure that an ex Clooney rent-a-girlfriend should be judging anyone for *anything.* That being said, this did make me laugh. Of all my pregnant friends and relatives, the first-time mothers seem to fall into two categories: the ones who are terrified they’ll somehow break or ruin their baby, and the ones who become super-smug and feel that at the moment of conception, they somehow magically become imbued with supreme knowledge about anything related to babies. Guess Stacy is one of the latter.

I think everybody knows, pregnant or not, that it’s better to eat healthier. That being said, just chill out, Stacy. Wait until you have the kid before declaring yourself a super mommy.

I did laugh at “I only eat everything organic and only organic products are in my household.” Not everything that is organic is automatically good for you, and not everything needs to be organic. People just toss the word around. Then again, I hardly expect Stacy to be a science expert.

  33. Poink517 says:

Moderation is key, Stacy. Apply that thought to your pregnancy preachiness.

  34. Gretchen says:

I wouldn’t get so stabby if these celebs would at least acknowledge while on their smug-tour-of-zen-pregnancy that a lot of people cannot afford or access organic produce or personal trainers and nutritionists. But, alas they don’t, so the stabby stays >: (

  35. aenflex says:

The more weight you gain, the harder it is loose. Personally I don’t want to gain that much. But it is up to each woman.

    • kri says:

I get that she wants to be healthy-I respect that. She has a point about trying to go organic for sure. But it’s just a damn donut, FFS. Indulging a craving isn’t going to hurt you unless you are already obese and sedentary. Sometimes you MUST indulge yourself. Building a person is hard work-give yourself a break.

    • no way says:

This is the problem with her comments. Pregnant women should try to be healthy, but not worry about the weight unless their doctor says something. I had a terrible pregnancy, I was sick the whole time. The thought of some “good” foods made me want to hurl. I ate a lot of crackers, cheese-itz- which to this day I can’t eat anymore, and a bit of protein here and there, plus a donut or desert when I felt like it. I gained a decent amount of weight, and had a caesarean after 32 hours of labor. Needless to say I have one kid. However, just so you know I bounced back from the caesarean faster than anyone I know, especially my triathlon athletic friends. I think my body was so glad to have the baby gone, and I lost the weight faster than most. My daughter is eleven now, smart as a whip, no allergies -like some of my granola mom friends, and never been seriously ill. My doctor told me afterwards that some people just have a hard time, and not much I could have done about it. The only side effect I have had is that I now get heartburn. I never had heartburn a day in my life before I was pregnant. I had to ask my husband what it was, as I never really understood it and I was in my thirties when I was pregnant. The point is you don’t know, and people should really listen to a trained doctor, not C-list celebrities trying to make a buck off you.

  36. siri says:

She is right about healthy eating during pregnancy- but I guesss most women have heard about that before. AND she’s preachy + judgy, and therefore annoying. But, not everything ‘organic’ should be in or on you, Stacey, trust me.

  37. Lilacflowers says:

People need an excuse to eat donuts?

  38. Diana says:

She is worse than gp… Lol

  39. Kushkins says:

Argh, shut up George Clooney’s ex, beacuse that’s how I got to know about you anyway. And WTF, is a house detox? Sounds like a plotline to an exorcism movie. Anyhoo, off to get a donught right now.

  40. yogapants says:

“ ‘Everything I put on my skin, basically I can eat,’ the model tells Us.”

Yikes, I hope she doesn’t get so hungry (from donut denial) that she eats her own face!

  41. AmyR says:

How about Monday morning? Is Monday morning a good excuse to eat a donut?

  42. little_blu says:

there were many times during my pregnancy where I was soooo hungry despite the very healthy, large amounts of food I would eat. I have a fast metabolism and I exercised throughout so my body sometimes just needed more calories. The occasional doughnut, bag of chips, cookie, bowl of ice cream etc. won’t hurt you or your baby. I had all of those things in limited quantities and I’ve lost the weight and baby is very healthy.

Easiest advice? Eat mostly healthy with a treat one or two days a week, and relax. Pregnancy has enough to deal with without judgey, pretentious people telling you how to eat. And if your habits are that bad, talk to your doctor, don’t listen to random chicks George Clooney has banged.

  43. snowflake says:

No offense, but what makes her think she’s an appropriate person to advise us on pregnancy? If she was a physical trainer, nutritionist, or a doctor, then yeah, ok. but she’s not, she’s an ex-gf of some celebrity. she could give out bad advice. she’s not an expert. just because she’s skinny, doesn’t mean she’s done it healthfully. i know this advice was harmless but seriously, she is not someone who should set herself as a fitness/food expert. because she’s not

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Agree

    • lucy2 says:

But she’s the host of a show about Supermarkets!!! That equals a PhD, doesn’t it?

I’m really kind of repulsed how she’s using her pregnancy to bolster her career. She’s not the first and won’t be the last, but I’m finding it super annoying with her. She’s giving all these interviews, spouting off all this unsolicited advice, and showing up for any baby related event. Just..shh.

  44. Jayna says:

Shut up. Now I want a warm Krispy Kreme donut just to spite her.

  45. Triple Cardinal says:

    Wait a minute…

Keibler can lecture all she wants, but who at Us Weekly decided she’d be a great subject to cover? Of all the interesting women out there, why an article on HER?

  46. HappyMom says:

I think she’s very fortunate to be having an easy pregnancy. I had horrendous all day morning sickness for the first 2 trimesters, and the only thing that made me feel a little better was carb loading. I lived on bagels. It made me much less judgey of other pregnant women’s cravings and what they’re eating.

  47. Chichai says:

How about cravings in general Stacy? After a 3 day migraine I had a serious salt craving. I had pickles, French fries and a bacon cheeseburger and boy it hit the spot.

I thought it was weird since you are supposed to avoid a lot of salt with severe migraines. I looked it up and salt helps return blood cells to normal after a migraine. Migraines causes blood cells to dialate and salt constricts them. See Stacy, not all cravings are bad. Cravings are usually a signal that out bodies need a certain nutrient. My sister and cousin both craved miso soup early in their pregnancies but I forgot the nutritional reason…mainly because my sister was getting preachy about her pregnancy

    • Faye says:

@Chichai – Not pregnancy related but I suffer from terrible migraines, and I’d never heard of the salt thing. I will try it next time! I try to avoid medication as much as possible, so I’d be happy to find out that a pickle or some pretzels might help. Thanks for the tip.

      • Micki says:

You may try mineral water with high magnesium content. Helps me a lot. I used to nearly trow up when I smelled coffee and I am a coffee Junkie. Now I have migrane(1 to 2 weeks of it) perhaps 3-4 a year.

    • Liberty says:

Chichai — yep. the salt trick works. Try it, Faye — relief.

    • Faye says:

Thanks, @Micki -I will try that as well.

  48. Elise says:

I don’t need an excuse to eat a donut.

  49. MinnFinn says:

I’d bet money that her statements came from a script designed to appeal to aspirational and actual jogging devotees. Plus the promotion was held at Bel Bambini luxury boutique. I don’t see a Real Housewife of OC type getting motivated to buy a jogging stroller by Stacy saying ‘ go ahead and have a few donuts, you can jog those love handles away after the kid is born’.

  50. Famished says:

Stacy Keibler should just STFU and keep her pregnancy rules to herself. Women don’t need an “excuse to eat a donut(s). Everybody isn’t as superficial as Keibler. Hell, all one needs to do is excercisr and continue to eat right to stay fit. Women can eat what they want in moderation and they will be fine. I knew all Clooney’s exes were idiots.

  51. Cupcake says:

And because of her organic pregnancy she’ll have the best baby ever!

Just wait until the Mom-shaming begins! It will go on for years!

  52. Jaded says:

    Barf.

  53. mkyarwood says:

35 weeks here. I’m a health nut and probably on par with Madam Goop when it comes to my fitness and food — when I’m not pregnant. The reason for that is because I don’t want a donut when I’m not pregnant. However, this pregnancy is riddled with cravings I don’t normally have and I’m just giving into them. I won’t call it indulging because it’s more like if I don’t GET THAT THING RIGHT NOW PEOPLE WILL DIE. This includes donuts. Of course, it’s not my job to attempt to ‘stay relevant’ for no reason at all other than my appearance like Stacy, so nobody is looking for my opinion on donuts. Odd, I don’t remember asking Stacy’s opinion either. I bet she idolizes Gisele.

  54. Kenny Boy says:

I think her use of the second person (“you” and “your”) is rhetorical. In her last statement about pregnancy health, she stuck to first person and it came off much better. This is why I can’t stand the overuse of the second person! People constantly use “you” and “your” in place of “I” and “me” and “my”, and it makes everything sound judgmental.

  55. Liberty says:

I think she was misquoted .I think she actually meant to say, “Bearding is not a time to have an excuse to eat donuts.”

Or, “Sugar-Daddy-walking is not a time to have an excuse to eat donuts.”

Or, was it, “Contact-hustling is not a time to have an excuse to eat donuts.”

  56. Green Is Good says:

I’m literally waiting for this idiot to tell us how pregnancy is amazing , and how she’s over the moon about being a mother!

This woman is literally irritating as a Hell. Literally.

  57. starfan says:

This loser needs to shut up. We wouldn’t even know about her if it wasn’t for actual famous people.

  58. Famished says:

Also, it depends on the pregnancy. Each woman is different. The doc told my sis that she wasnt carrying enough weight to substain carrying her multiples during pregnancy. The doctor told her to go out and eat a lot of sugary stuff like cake to help her twins because her pregnancy was “literally” at risk because the boy baby was not getting enough nutrition because the girl baby was taking most of it. It was a really difficult pregnancy, and the baby ended up handicapped then eventually died. If my sister shad not abided by the doctors orders she would have blamed herself for her sons death. Please STFU Keibler.

  59. Nicolette says:

All I know is this had made me really want a donut.

  60. Nance says:

Haha! I don’t need any excuses too. Pregnant or not. 😛

  61. hollah says:

I hope she realizes that she has won the pregnancy lottery. My first pregnancy was great — no cravings and sickness. Second pregnancy — no sickness but craved strawberry ice cream like it was going extinct and gained too much weight. I am in the 9th month of my third pregnancy now — sick all 9 months and crave sushi like crazy. Have gained appropriate amount of weight.

I am the same person, father is the same person, and my lifestyle has had no significant changes. I have always been active and eat relatively healthy. Moderation is key for me. Everyone has different experiences with pregnancy and there is no need to judge!

  62. kcarp says:

I ate trash when I was prego, I had a healthy perfect baby. Jessica Simpson admitted to eating she too has perfect at least as far as we know children.

Granted I believe people probably should eat healthy when prego, shouldn’t drink, smoke, etc..BUT these people just need to get off it with their organic blah blah go hug a tree only eat vegan stuff attitudes.

  63. JenniferJustice says:

why is she attacking donuts? Should she be attacking cookies or elves…Kiebler?! Bwaaahaaahaaa!

  64. Christin says:

Is she really attempting to have a career (using the term loosely) or just trying to get any opportunity to let the world know how happy her life is?

She can have many more babies and she will still be known as one of GC’s girls. She could even have sextuplets and she would be known as the Clooney ex who had sextuplets. By the time she became a contract player, she should have known the tag line would stick.

  65. Gonzalez says:

Mother smoked like a chimney when it was “normal” in the 50s. Kid came out healthy as a horse. Few years later, after being talked into quitting, she had a March of Dimes baby with health issues up until puberty. Grandmother smoked pall malls and had four healthy kids. Meh.

I imagine a donut is less harmful than a cigarette, but I certainly don’t know.

And I seriously don’t believe anyone else knows what the hell they’re talking about, including the scientists that study this shit. Just wish the average joe would STFU about it.

    I don’t smoke.

  66. Moneypenny says:

Being pregnant is also no excuse for her wearing that dress with those booties.

  67. Diana says:

You know she is right. It’s okay to have to have a donut while your pregnant or other little goodies. But that should be an occasional treat. As it should be when your not pregnant as well to. I have known some woman that have used pregnancy as an excuse to eat a whole box of Oreo’s. My mom had 3 kids, watched what she ate and only gained around 15 to 20 pounds. And had 3 healthy 8 pound kids. Also I have known some woman that ate like slobs, gained around 50 to 60 pounds and have like 4 or 5 pound babies.

    • Jayna says:

She didn’t say it was okay to have a donut or other goodies sparingly and to eat healthy most of the time. No one would be judging her judgey statement had she not come across so holier than thou telling people pregnancy is not an excuse to eat donuts like anyone who indulged a little was a loser. She would nevah.

  68. wow says:

I expect nothing less from Stacy. After all she is great friends with those other two health nuts, Alex Rodriguez and his girlfriend who’s name I forget.

Her unborn child is probably begging for some carbs.

  69. derpshooter says:

I would love for everyone on Twitter to bombard her with info about organic pesticides commonly used on organic produce.
she is really getting on my nerves and not too much of celebrities’ stupidity bothers me.

  70. GIRLFACE says:

It constantly amazes me how classist this stuff is too. Like, anyone who can’t afford a choir of singing birds to lovingly wrap them with ribbons each morning, carrying organic fruits and and essential oils in their beaks each day along with little squirrel helpers to rub them in must wallow in the mire and filth that is aging and weight gain. I know GOOP gets the squeeze, but there’s a lot of it going around.

  71. Nymeria says:

    she’s such a douche.

  72. Lydia says:

Every pregnant celebrity acts like she is the first person to ever have a baby. Shut up, Stacy.

    • may234 says:

Yes, they are the first and only to have babies! They are so eager to give advice.

  73. may234 says:

    Annoying Stacy.

  74. Marianne says:

I want to punch her in the face.

Don’t care whether you’re pregnant or not. If you want a donut, eat your friggin donut. Its not gonna kill you or the baby to indulge every once in awhile.

  75. Lotta says:

I also eat only organic food and only use organic products on me and my family’s skin. I don’t even eat pizza because I don’t like the oily taste. However, sometimes I use my organic products to make cakes. I think when you eat healthy and exercise a lot, it’s not only ok but it it’s quite good for you to treat yourself. The only downside is that sugars, wheat, and milk, makes my stomach all bloated, but sometimes it’s worth it.

  76. aqua says:

I would have killed for a donut or for anything sweet for that matter but because i was borderline for developing Gestational Diabetes during both of my pregnancies my doctor said it was best for me to stay away from anything sweet (if I wanted to avoid medication/insulin which I did)) and to eat healthy and to get some exercise. I was completely bummed out because I was so looking forward to a little indulgence here and there but we (Doctor and I) didn’t want to risk it. So having said that make mine a French Cruller please?

  77. Ice Queen says:

Stacy should give her opinion, it’s her right, but it’s also my right to say: bitch, STFU! How many nutritionists and personal trainers and cooks do you have? Even if she’s not an A lister, I’m sure she “inherited” a lot of money from dating Clooney and if she invested properly she could slowly become loaded. which I’m sure to some extend-she is.

So once again: yes, you’re right-we should be healthy. Now STFU.

  78. Mixtape says:

OK, got it. But just so I’m clear, when exactly are times to have an excuse to eat donuts? So far my list includes: (a) Saturday, (b) driving by Krispy Kreme right when the “fresh donuts” light goes on because you don’t mess with destiny, (c) anytime someone brings donuts into the office, and (d) while reading any print article about Stacey Keibler (makes great drop cloth for icing/filling because eating donuts is not a time to have an excuse for a messy desk, people!).

  79. Dancinnancy says:

Ugh. Why do women tear others down?

My entire pregnancy was awful. The only thing that didn’t immediately come back up was Twix bars, starburst, sweet tea, bbq chicken, caesar salad and teriyaki chicken ramen noodles. For seven months. My child was healthy with no known allergies or deficiencies.

Genetics or luck – who knows. But I’m don’t understand this need to shame…

  80. Lucinda says:

I liked her better when she didn’t give many interviews.

  81. Eden75 says:

Oy, more advice from first time pregnant women. I had 2, craved all sorts of junk with the first, gained 62 lbs, had a healthy 6lb, 8 oz girl (I am 5′ and was 100 lbs when I got pregnant with her.) Ate (mostly) healthy with the second, (126 at the start of that pregnancy, 9 years later) and gained 74 lbs with him. Also a healthy 7lb, 11oz baby. I am a huge pregnant woman no matter what I eat. I did not have GD and both of my kids are healthy. Not all of us who get huge while pregnant stuff every doughnut in sight in our faces, so of us are just huge. This from a woman who comes from a long line of huge pregnant women. The only one who did not look huge what my aunt, who is 5’10”. She gained 60 lbs, but it looked like about 30 since she is so tall. Damn you genetics and shut it tall skinny pregnant lady who gets paid to look good while mostly naked.

  82. Snowpea says:

I don’t get the outrage. Who cares what this D-list celeb has to say? It’s HER opinion! Why would you give this much weight to someone who relies on her body to make a living?

Do what you wanna do when you’re pregnant. I had two kids young and wanted to eat tomatoes, lemon sorbet and grapes with the first and croissants, cakes and ice-cream with the second.

I can’t stand all the pearl clutching when someone dares express an opinion. It’s so silly.

  83. Sophie says:

This post makes me want a donut…

  84. HoustonGrl says:

Oh honey…just wait til the baby comes.

  85. Allison says:

I ate almost no veggies when I was pregnant with my daughter because the smell of them made me sick. Same with meat. I went from a pretty strict paleo diet to pasta and toast only days after I got my positive test. It was awful! I wish I could have had a super healthy pregnancy, but it wasn’t happening for me.

  86. Nina says:

Her 15 minutes were up a while ago.
