Michael Fassbender vs Domhnall Gleeson at NYC premiere: who would you rather?

wenn21600871

You don’t even know the man-drought I’ve been going through. I have been parched for some news or photos about some of my favorite men. So imagine my pleasure at seeing Michael Fassbender pop up in NYC last night for the low-key premiere of Frank!! YAY. Michael was joined by costars Domhnall Gleeson and Maggie Gyllenhaal, but I have to say… the photographers took more photos of Michael than anybody else. As it should be. I think Michael also stood outside and signed autographs longer than anybody else. Note: Frank is the film where Michael wears a giant plastic head throughout the entire movie.

As for how Fassy looks… well, he was going to be a sight for sore eyes no matter what. We haven’t had new photos of him in like two months. I don’t know if he’s been working or if he’s been playing this summer, but he looks pretty good. Not particularly well-rested, but that might be jet-lag. I glanced through his IMDB – he’s going to have a big 2015, he’s got a bunch of films in post-production which will be released next year. And he’s still going to do The Light Between Oceans, one of my least favorite CB Book Club selections EVER. There’s some gossip that Michael is probably pulling out of the long-gestating Assassin’s Creed film, although nothing has been confirmed.

So, would you hit it? Or would you rather with Domhnall Gleeson? I actually like Domhnall a great deal and I think he’s adorable in that pale, accented, ginger way that appeals to me. But Domhnall’s bangs are killing me!! They’re too long. And in any case… Fassy looks like he’s up for it. Sigh… Irish boys.

Whenever I look at Fassy, I’m reminded that I’m allergic to penicillin. He’s all yours. But I am looking forward to seeing this film.

    • mom2two says:

Laughing at this comment. I am with you though. I’d take Domhall Gleeson all the way. He’s adorable.
Looking at this picture of him, I am reminded how good the casting directors of Harry Potter were…he has a resemblance to Rupert Grint, as he played Ron’s older brother Bill in the films.

    • sigh((s)) says:

      Laughing so hard…
I don’t know why, but I can’t get my head (or panties) around Fassy. I love him as an actor, but there’s something about him that puts me off. I can’t figure it out.
Now that Gleeson guy? I’m liking. Shave him and I’m there.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        Fear of antibiotics, perhaps?

      • sigh((s)) says:

I really do have horrible reactions to antibiotics, so perhaps it’s my subconscious looking out for me.

      • Anne tommy says:

Agree re Fassbender, just doesn’t do it for me, like him in lots of things though, would recommend Fish Tank, quite a low budget film from c. 5 years ago where he’s really unpleasant. If I was much younger I would probably think Mr Gleeson was cute.

    • ichsi says:

Brwahahaha! As I always say, I’d gladly take him for a ride, but only after he was hosed down with antiseptic and put on antibiotics for a long while.

He DOES however look very good in those pics. I love how big his shoes are, i admit, I do have bit of a fetish for his Greek feet… hmmmmm

      • DesertReal says:

Fassbender is the only ginger on earth that I get a lady-boner for. Absolutely and without hesitation. His voice, that neck, his…happy trail. Just saw The Counselor and mmmm…that oral scene in the m-fing opening scene alone…yeah. I would wear a rubber and rock that boat until I could rock it no more.

    • Thanks…I’ll take it. Penicillin and all. LOVE him.

    • Isadora says:

Also allergic to penicillin – and I would STILL take him! Repeatedly. Fassy!!!!! *grabby hands*

  2. GiGi says:

Mmmm…. Fassy looks ready to go, doesn’t he? I’ll take a bit of that this morning!

  3. K says:

Sometimes he looks great, other times… not so much. I don’t know if it’s bad angles or bad days. I don’t think he takes particularly good care of himself. Loved him in DOFP and going to see Frank too – the trailer looks great.

    • LadyMTL says:

Yeah, Fassy doesn’t look great here. I think (for me anyway) it’s the jeans / shoes combo that’s throwing me off. In the first pic he looks really stumpy, like part of his legs are missing, lol. But in the shots where you only see him from the hips up he looks a lot better.

Anyway! I definitely wouldn’t kick him out of bed.

  4. Maria says:

Fassy, with the fist of an angry god.

  5. BangersandMash says:

Are we talking about gingers here?? Gingers from the British isles??

    God, give me Ewan McGregor… ANY…. DAY…. OF…. THE …. WEEK!!
He is the ORIGINAL hung, indie, ginger, hotness that Fassie thrives on today!! Have you seen the pillow book? McGregor can swing it with the best of them.
He’s funny, very funny, he’s Scottish, he’s witty, he’s down to earth, he’s gorgeous, he’s ginger, and that smile… It’s so naughty, and so innocent. Where as Michael’s smile looks a bit fox/shark like.

Having said that Fass looks rather chilled now a days. It’s a fitting look for him.

  6. jessica6 says:

I think I’ll pass on both gentlemen…they do absolutely nothing for me. Gleeson looks like a naughty boy who builds bombs in his parents’ garage.

I like my men as I do my chocolate….dark and rich. 😉
*applying lip gloss and donning my sunglasses*

    • BangersandMash says:

Idris Elba… YAAASSSS BABY!! YAAASSSSSS HONEY!! YAAASSSSS!!!!

Chiwetel Ejiofor?? YAAASSSSSSS… Then marry him, cause that is not chocolate you can share, that choc needs to be SHUT DOWN to the public.

Get your lip gloss and your shades on and get that choc…

    • Illyra says:

“Gleeson looks like a naughty boy who builds bombs in his parents’ garage.”

      LOL

    • Artemis says:

Slightly disturbed at the amount of times a human being is likened to chocolate.

    • T.C. says:

      @Jessica

LOL. I like both chocolate and spicy ginger so a side of each for me.

    • AlmondJoy says:

I’ll take Chadwick Boseman, Robert Christopher Riley and Omari Hardwick 😍

As for the 2 mentioned in the article, neither of them really do anything for me, but I find Fassy much more attractive. Domhnall reminds me of a little brother, he’s very cute but not necessarily attractive in my eyes.

@Artemis I thought I was the only one that cringed when reading things like that. It doesn’t offend me, but makes me feel slightly uncomfortable.

      • FingerBinger says:

Neither one does anything for me either. Fassy seems like a guy you’d party and hang with, but that’s about it.

      • AlmondJoy says:

Finger, a party with Fassy would probably be soo epic, I doubt I could keep up lol. Im not a big party animal and he looks like he gets it IN.

    Isn’t Hamlet filming now to?

  8. laineyd says:

I wish all Irish boys were like this! 🙁 sighs

  9. j.eyre says:

Fassy is like that one side dish on the buffet that you aren’t sure what’s in it, there are many other dishes you do want to try, but it looks hearty and tasty and ultimately you can’t help but grab some of that.

    • Maria says:

      Bless this comment.

    • T.Fanty says:

But one that sends you running to the toilet for days after, cursing the fact that you (ahem) put it in your body.

    • kri says:

LMAO. “You aren’t sure what’s in it”..classic. Although I think maybe “you aren’t sure what it’s been in..” might work, too. 😉

    • BangersandMash says:

j.eyre, maria, t-fanty!! Thank you… This is going on facebook, NOW!!

This is so true, j.eyre….. You’re spot on. He looks delicious, but there’s something there that’s a bit dodgey, maybe?! it’s an intensity about him that is on another level.

  10. Talie says:

Macbeth was pushed back. 🙁 Disappointing,… I really wanted to see it!

  11. cubfan34 says:

Domhall is looking better with age. His younger brother Brian is a babe.

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2244852/?ref_=nmbio_trv_3

  12. Chris says:

I only have eyes for the Farrell, but I’m thrilled Domhnall’s hit the big time, there’s a great talent there. (Given his father’s brilliance, maybe not surprising. )
He really does look like his younger brother Ron here!

  13. Lucretia says:

I like Gleeson–he’s really growing on me. But Fassy all the way.

  14. Eve says:

I’ve always found Fassbender’s body proportions weird. Like, his torso seems to be the exact same size as his legs.

And I know it must be the angle, but in that first picture his legs actually look shorter than his upper body!!!

    • I thought that too. I think he is a long-waisted guy (thinking back to naked shower scenes in Shame…in which he was AWESOME), but the camera angle (shot from above) is definitely an unflattering angle. Add to that cuffed pant legs (he needs to cuff them so his inseam must be a bit short) and light coloured shoes….that is a sure fire way to cut yourself off at the legs. the male version of ankle strap shoes…not for everyone.

That said, I’d TOTALLY hit that. I’d tie him up to the water heater in my bedroom closet and feed him and give him water occasionally so that he could keep up his energy.

    • M.A.F. says:

He does have an odd upper/lower body ratio. He has narrow hips.

  15. Wallamalooo says:

Bleurgh definitely not Fassbender, I find him revolting :S

  16. Andrea says:

I think he needs a bit of moisturizer. Overall though, Fassbender looks like he’d give me the stuff I need in the bedroom. I think a lot of women are turned off by him because he has probably been with a lot of women, but in my experience, that makes him *cough* very experienced and skilled. At least he doesn’t look like Leo *barfs*

    • I have to agree on this point. Experience is a good thing. I don’t get too caught up on “the number”…especially when you get to a certain age, if we went by numbers we’d all be “sluts”.

      • Andrea says:

I couldn’t agree more with your comments. Americans are far too hung up on their numbers I have found (I live in Canada now and no one I have hung out with even discusses such things or if they do it is not with this shame that seems to surround one’s number if it is deemed high in the states. I guess we were founded by puritans, some of that is bound to still linger).

  17. Cali says:

Love Fassbender, he’s looking great!! DOFP was awesome. Looking forward to McBeth (hope he does well in it)!!

  18. Nikole says:

    WHY NOT BOTH

  19. Leaflet says:

I would totally hit Fassbender, add a side of Mcavoy, and it’s a fairly delightful buffet for me. I do miss Anthony Mackie though. Yeah, I think I’ll have him for desert. 😉

  20. Dancinnancy says:

Fassy, Fassy, Fassy. I cannot get enough of Fassypants. And I agree – Light Between The Oceans is one of the worst books I’ve ever suffered through. I don’t think Rachel Weisz (whom I adore) can make me care about this character.

I’m ready for 2015: Year of Fassy!

  21. Reece says:

    Domhnall

  22. Jess says:

    Fassbender all the way.

  23. jenny12 says:

Gleeson’s hair is a little too Bieber.

  24. Lola says:

LOVE Maggie G. dress! Not feeling the shoes though, but they do work.

  25. Madpoe says:

    Yum gingerbread cookie sandwich

  26. snowflake says:

neither! gimme the Rock or Hugh Jackman

  27. Blue says:

Fassy forever and always! I’ve been waiting for new pictures of him for so long. I’m not interested in seeing Frank though. What’s the point of the film if you can’t see his beautiful face.

  28. joe spider says:

Don’t know why but I look at Fassy and think – untrustworthy.

  29. Elizabeth says:

I’ll stick with Richard Armitage, thanks.

  30. 'P'enny says:

mmmm Fassy – just say ‘no’ to the Jeremy Clarkson fashion sense. Suit jackets don’t go with jeans, especially turn-up jeans and big eff-off purple shoes!

What is wrong with these men! got a ton of cash and cant dress. Can i take them shopping please??

  31. Camille (The Original) says:

Fassy forever (with a side order of ASkars!).

  32. Peach says:

Yay! Kaiser has a new Fassy post…seems like it’s been forever! Yeah, we all know he’s a dirty boy but I’d still….
