Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton have been filming A Hundred Streets in London for the past few weeks. I know nothing about this film, but judging from the photos alone, I think Gemma and Idris are married with children, and Idris plays some kind of abusive or depressive bastard and at some point, Gemma takes the kids away. And as she leaves, Idris stands on a balcony, waving a rifle and screaming at her. We have those photos (below). We also have the photos of Idris with what looks like a very, very significant bulge. Yanks would refer to this as “The Full Hamm” I think. The bulge photos took off on Friday, to the point where Idris had to correct the record on Twitter. First, he tweeted: “The good news is i got a sh-t load of followers. The bad news is, that is a mic wire. #egowentintospaceshipmodethough” Then he tweeted this:

Anyway, I think we can all rest easier tonight knowing that yes, Idris is probably a BIG guy. But not that big. Still, it’s unsettling seeing him wave around that rifle.

@’p’enny, they do CGI stuff. It is difficult to hind things in spandex and Marvel does not want an R rating in the US. Disney certainly doesn’t. They altered the costumes for Avengers, adding longer panels in front, and again for Thor2. Heimdahl now wears a little skirt thing when he didn’t before and most of another actor’s scenes were filmed either above the waist or holding something in front of himself unless the shot was from a distance.

Iain wasn’t in Tinker, Tailor; Colin was. At this point, Idris, Colin, and Tom seem to be the only British actors who haven’t appeared in episodes of MI-5, maybe they can find cameos for them in the film version. When watching The Hollow Crown, which aired a year later here, I was calling it: “Harry Potter plays the Game of Thrones at Downton Abbey.” I loved that Lady Mary and Viserys were brother and sister and Loki was hanging out at a brothel run by Mrs. Weasley.
