Here are some more fashion photos from last night’s VMAs. Let’s start with Gwen Stefani in a LAMB ensemble that she apparently designed herself. On the red carpet, I thought she looked great. The hot pink/fuchsia and black combo popped and she seemed to be very comfortable and rocking the whole thing. But when she got on stage with Snoop Dogg… I don’t know, I disliked her whole vibe. I thought she seemed Botoxed and frozen, plus I think Gwen and Snoop got high before they presented.
Solange Knowles in H&M Studio Collection. H&M sent us a publicity email where they noted that the whole ensemble comes in under $150 (before taxes). The jacket costs $79.95, the pants cost $69.95. Would you wear it? I probably would, but I wouldn’t have any expectation that the tuxedo would last very long. Also, did anyone see any Solange cutaways? I think I saw her, like, once. There needed to be more cutaways, especially when Beyonce was singing about elevator drama.
Here’s Lorde in Chanel. Ugh. I mean, I get it. She’s not Taylor Swift. She’s not Ariana Grande. Lorde is her own person and she’s not your cutesy manufactured pop tart. But this feels like it’s just another version of try-hard. Trying too hard to be serious, trying too hard to be dark and goth. Oh, and SHE IS NOT ROCK.
And Kesha made an appearance too. She wore a Johanna Johnson gown and her hair is currently this weird shade. Er… I’m happy that she seems healthier these days.

I doubt she is getting Botox since she is still nursing… But I agree she did jack with her face at some point.
And that makes me doubt that she got high with Snoop as well. I could be wrong though.
I think it’s the first time I’ve seen her without bright red lipstick and with this shade of blonde hair..Such small things but could that be part of it?

really…it messed up my head seeing her…don’t mess with perfection, gwen!
She stayed out of the spotlight for a long time so now she looks so much older which she is. She was on the carpet for the preshow and I didn’t know it was her for a minute. She was loud and corny and left me sad because she was so cool in the day with No Doubt….now I just wanted to say Don’t Speak….glory days.
Something looks different around her eye area and maybe her lips are different? I think it’s awesome if she got stoned with Snoop Dogg before presenting though, lol.
That would be epic…her and the dogg. She’s only out and about to promote the Voice I guess. I hope she’s not going the way of Nicole Kidman, because she’s starting to look kind of Stepford wife-ish.

Kesha looks AMAZING, her recovery is really doing wonders. I want her hair, boobs and legs. See what a good, flattering dress does for you *ahem* (bad dressers who escape my mind right now…)

Agreed with the assessment of Gwen. She was my best-dressed of the night. Solange’s jacket is way too big and was surprised to see her actually wearing anything below it. F’ing-A Lorde – we get it- this getup was beyond terrible and way too try-hard. Kesha looks good but she needs a better makeup person.
Gwen looked okay. Her presenting with Snoop was painful to watch, they were trying so hard to be cool.
Gwen’s a bit thick, isn’t she? I saw an interview she did with Jonathan Ross and she didn’t get any of the jokes or his sarcasm. Same happend with Simon Amstell at the Brits. She seemed so clueless. Plus, her speaking voice is super annoying.
To me, Lorde is one of the few people who seems genuine and not too manufactured.
SS, I agree. Did anyone see her ice bucket challenge? She seems uncomfortable being herself. Or she has no personality.

She looks really cool, zero try-hardness IMO.
Solange always stands out for me because she has a unique style with a cool retro vibe and she doesn’t try to do the over-the-top sexy thing like everybody else.
I wish her hair was pulled back or up or pushed behind her shoulders, because it’s overwhelming her delicate face a little, but she looks elegant and comfortable and really pretty.
Gwen isn’t looking hot, Kesha is looking hot. Go Kesha!

It’s called getting older. She’s in her 40s. Her face is going to show that more mature face, especially when in a lot of heavy makeup,, compared to other photos which are shot to be flattering and/or she’s usually in sunglasses when out and about.
Solange looks great. She looks so effortlessly cool, not try-hardy cool.

Gwen’s face is lovely, but yes, it looks frozen. That makes me so sad. She was always so beautiful and now she’s started messing with her face. I hope she steps away from the tox and comes back to making music!
Solange’s getup is ill-fitting. Maybe it would have been better if it was tailored to fit? But I’m still not sure.
My guess is Kesha did not get implants, but her bust size did increase since her ED recovery.

eh, there is some not so nice stuff out there about her. Gavin’s relationship with his daughter changed/evaporated after it was confirmed that he was her father, and it is reportedly due to Gwen S. He and Daisy were quite close in previous years. She has been very vocal about it when asked.

Daisy and Gavin were close because he didn’t know he was the father but was her Godfather.I am sure it made him uncomfortable and put a slight strain on there marriage.That was a few years back and there still together and had another baby.You don’t here anything bad about her.It s always something to do with Gavin’s past.
I love Gwen Stefani & have a few of her L.A.M.B. pieces but this look is underwhelming & her face looks jacked. I hope she and Snoop did get high cuz there’s no way I could have gotten thru that snooze fest sober.

Gwen Stefani’s jacked face is exactly the reason they needed a canopy over the step & repeat yesterday. Botox faces are not made for direct sunlight. She looked rough. And the outfit? It looks like Katie Holmes made it, with all the ill-fitting, disasterous tailoring. It looks like Peg Bundy.
And I liked the H&M outfit, but the jacket is soooo enormous. I get the general “loose top with tight pants” look – but it just isn’t right somehow.

I have to admit that I really like Kesha’s look. I’m digging her rainbow hair! And all I can think when I see Lorde is that it must have been hot as hell in that get-up.

Gosh, just a few months out from giving birth–she looks fabulous. Can’t tell if her face is jacked or if it simply looks different due to thinning with age. Hair too, often gets thin when pregnancy hormones ebb.

I usually like Solange’s style but this jacket drowned her; It would have been a hit if the jacket was tailored properly. But she looked beautiful though. Gwen Stefani can do no wrong in my book. She looked amazing.
