These are photos of Zosia Mamet at New York Fashion Week. As you can see, she’s taken her brunette bob to platinum blonde all in one go. Aww, bless. Zosia’s my spirit animal in hair and makeup. We both do drastic, spur-of-the-moment things to our hair and have to live with the consequences for years to come. Here’s what Zosia’s hair looked like in June.
What do you think of Zosia’s new look? It’s pretty harsh, and the bleaching process did some damage. She’s gonna have serious split ends to fend off in a few months. At least she isn’t wearing garish red lipstick, right? This new ‘do may coincide with wrapping the Girls season that started shooting in April. Allison Williams is already working on Peter Pan, so maybe Zosia grabbed a new hair color for another role. Maybe she simply wanted a change, but this isn’t a good one.

Is it in tribute to Joan Rivers? Bc she looks just like her when she was young.

So is this the new fashion trend? Women who look totally awful with short bleach-blond hairdos sporting said hairdos anyway, and being all “in your face, beauty standards!” ? Ugh it’s so tiresome.
unfortunate is the new black
That unfortunate haircut probably cost $300.
that’s a haircut that one actually has to pay for. no way. this is more like of a cutting-my-hair-in-the-bathroom-mirror situation.
If so, I’ve been touting those kinds of haircuts since my teens.

The damage that causes your hair isn’t worth it. She has a very interesting look to her.
I’m just gonna say it – she looks like some kind of housekeeping/cleaning implement. She does. If she’s happy, go for it. But that’s the image I’m getting.

Ugh. Not a good look. Her hair reminds me of a doll I had back in the early 1970’s when I got the hot idea to cut her hair. That said, it is slightly better than Lena Dunham’s platinum blonde bowl cut (if one can consider Sosia’s Raggedy Andy cut an improvement).
I love it. Love the contrast of blonde hair and dark eye brows and it makes her stand out in a crowd.
Cheap. Go back to the light brown. That was well suited to her; she looked sophisticated. Or if that’s not the look she’s going for anymore….whatever. it looks awful.

The thing about a harsh hair color… is that you need to step up your eye brow situation. If she just went and had them shaped and cleaned up… it really would improve the over all effect of the hair color. Furry eyebrows are never your friend. More so when they are so noticeable against platinum hair.
If Zosia went and had a toner wash done… it would calm down the harshness. Yet, it is really hard for toner to stay on hair this beached tho…
I don’t mind girls going all out crazy with the bleach. But most never realize, is how bad it makes everything else stick out on your face.
The only girl I can think of… who knows all the tricks about how to wear platinum hair correctly… is Gwen Stefani.
It works with Gwen because she matches it with the stylized hair, makeup, and pin-up girl look of the ’40’s.

For me the bottle brush raggedy cut is the worst offender, I actually think she’s young and hip enough to pull off the colour, but not along with the machete haircut.
I began with: No. Absolutely not. But the more I look, the more I like it. Nevermind the yellow dress. It makes her looks like a banana. But if she tried softer clothing colors she might do chic very well.
Can Lena Dunham be stopped? I feel like she is the inverted Regina George of HBO High. Unless Z did this for a role, she needs to make better hair decisions in the future.

I hate the hair, but her outfit in the first photo is really cute.
I have the same features and just went platinum, and I will say it’s too harsh – but mostly because of her haircut. The ends are too sharp and needs some layers, but that may be temporary as she likely chopped it off to get rid of all the dry ends left from the bleaching. You have to soften your features when you go blonde. She’s smart enough to keep the makeup light. When you have brown eyes, you have to make sure the contrast isn’t too intense but that it’s not lost, either. I kept my brows their natural depth, and I found it helps a lot to keep the face framed. (I mean, it’s platinum blonde – nobody thinks it’s natural, anyway!) I think she needs to fill in her brows a tad more, but otherwise it’ll work as the hair grows out again.
it’s not so much the color that’s wrong as the dreadful cut. i might like the color on her if hair was cut/styled differently.

Why does she have the same expression in every photograph? The color and cut are not flattering but her eyes are very striking.
She’s quite pretty. Why did she fug it up with THAT HAIR?
