E!: Ryan Gosling ‘was in tears when he saw his daughter for the first time’

Some of you accuse of me of putting too much stock in tabloid reporting. I am gullible about gossip sometimes, in that I usually believe the worst about people and, obviously, I am the target market for tabloids. So it’s a rarity for me to say that I really think all of the tabloids are full of it about Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes at this point. Eva was pregnant for MONTHS without anyone revealing the secret. We know that Eva and Ryan welcomed a daughter, I guess, but no one has come forward and revealed the name. How is it possible that a “source” is close enough to Ryan and Eva to describe how they cried when their daughter was born, and yet that source won’t tell us the baby’s name?

It’s official: the world just became a little more beautiful…because Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have welcomed a baby girl! The 40-year-old actress gave birth to the couple’s first child together on Friday in Los Angeles, E! News has confirmed. The notoriously private pair, who never officially confirmed that they were expecting, have yet to publicly share the baby news and it’s unlikely that they will formally announce the birth.

But that doesn’t mean that the lovebirds, who first began dating back in September 2011, haven’t been enjoying their baby bliss in private!

“Eva is so happy she’s a mom, their baby girl is perfect!” a source tells E! News of the proud parents’ bundle of joy. “They are at home now with the baby and Eva is feeling great she says. She’s so good with kids and has been wanting this a really long time. When she found out she was having a girl, she was freaking out. She kind of wanted a girl deep down, but of course just wants a happy and healthy baby! Ryan is saying he is going to be overpowered with girls in the house and is gonna have to be extra manly around the house!”

While the pair has yet to reveal the name of their little one, Mendes continues to tell family and friends “how in love she is” with her darling daughter. “Everyone is saying the baby looks like Eva and has her features,” the source said of the wee one, who we can only presume is one gorgeous little girl.

The pair is clearly over the moon when it comes to the newest edition to their family and the duo even shed a few tears of joy upon first setting sights on their bundle of joy.

“It was very emotional for Eva and Ryan,” the insider said of their daughter’s birth. “They were both in tears when they saw their daughter for the first time!”

[From E! News]

Sure, I’ll believe that Ryan cried when he held his daughter. Because that’s an educated guess – most men and women are extremely emotional when they hold their babies for the first time. That would be like a “source” saying, “Ryan touched his daughter’s little fingers.” OF COURSE HE DID. Tell us the name, “sources”!!! Oh, and do you think she got Eva’s coloring? Probably.

Ryan’s mom and sister were also spotted at Ryan and Eva’s home this week – go here to see photos.

Brings back memories of seeing my husband and daughter together for the first time

Seeing your partner with your child is seriously the best thing ever. It only gets better and better as they grow too

Dads and their little girls eeeee

  4. Jegede says:

E! News was so so so wrong on all their exclusive details on the Brangelina wedding (pre-picture release) that I can’t take their stories seriously!

  5. Candy Love says:

That’s sound sweet but E! Doesn’t know jack sh*t about anything that isn’t related to the Kardashians. Just like their inside scoop on Brad and Angelina weddig was complete wrong and made up.

The look on a man’s face when he sees his baby for the first time…Priceless.
Tabloids just throw stuff at a wall and wait to see what sticks. Case in point- One of tabs this week said the baby is a boy. Derp.

My husband wept like I’d never seen before when our daughter was born. It’s such a powerful moment for everyone.

  9. AmyR says:

You’d be surprised about coloring though. My husband is Latino and I’m white (and very pale at that). I thought for sure our kids would get his coloring, but they got mine. Sorry kids, SPF 100 for you!

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

My mom is Latino and my dad is white and I have blue eyes and alabaster skin. my mom has Eva’s complexion and people used to ask her if I was adopted.

    • ol cranky says:

don’t forget that many “black” babies are much lighter in complexion at birth than people would expect. My friend is very dark skinned; her son is 3 shades darker but when he was born, she asked why they handed her someone else’s white child.

      • jaye says:

If my son hadn’t looked so much like his father when he was born I would have sworn the nurse handed me a white baby…and his dad and I are both black.

Thank god the baby looks like her.

“……gonna have to be extra manly around the house!”

    Lol, what?

Serious question: do you think these “sources” are just creative writers at E! (and other outlets), or do you think there are actual people with actual (yet questionable) connections to the celebrities, who make money by pretending to know what’s going on? Third option: real friends and staffers laugh all the way to the bank by telling believable, relatively harmless lies.

It just reminds me of Angie and Brad’s wedding, and how many publications rushed to publish details that were pretty quickly debunked. Did E!, Us Weekly, etc. actually PAY for those details, or do they just shamelessly invent things? I assume it’s a combination of both, but it would be interesting to know the specifics.

    • lunchcoma says:

I think it’s a mix of staffers making up nonsense and real friends planting fake stories made up by the celebrities themselves. I tend to assume the former about more famous and/or more private people, and the latter when it comes to Kardashian types.

  13. Size Does Matter says:

How is it humanly possible that the paps got pics of Ryan’s mom and sister but not a single one of visibly pregnant Eva?

And why keep it such a big secret? At some point they will need to confirm that there is a baby or at least take it out in public. I guess I can understand wanting privacy but this seems extreme to me.

    • ol cranky says:

not all celebrities consider their pregnancy as a marketing venture for themselves or their offspring as a step towards a dynasty. This is just an example to show that, if a celebrity want privacy, they can pretty much have it for the most part

    • Allie says:

@size does matter…I agree. Totally extreme. Right now people care, but after a few weeks of exposure, the media will find something else to focus on. This extreme privacy makes it seem like they want people to keep guessing and paying attention.

  14. Nuzzybear says:

My husband got our baby in his arms and basically forgot about everything and everyone else and just walked around the delivery room talking to him. He was at least 5 minutes old before I even got to see him – after loudly demanding to do so.

  15. lunchcoma says:

Yeah, this story is like the, “Christ Martin is comforting J-Law about the pictures hack” one. I’m both very willing to believe it’s true and highly skeptical that the source for it is anyone besides the overworked intern at the relevant tabloid.

  16. Ninja, please says:

Rolling my eyes at this goofiness. Its biology. Humans have been over populating this marble for a long while now

  17. Jaded says:

Who writes this crap? Someone with a failed career as a romance novelist?

  18. cyndi says:

.. and is gonna have to be extra manly around the house!”
Yeah, well. Good luck with that.
