Angelina Jolie in a lace Gucci for Sydney ‘Unbroken’ premiere: fab or fug?

wenn21933740

Here are some photos from today’s world premiere of Unbroken, which was held in Sydney, Australia. It was a big event – Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt walked the red carpet, and most of Angelina’s actors came too. Jack O’Connell (the star) was there, as was Miyavi, the Japanese rock star-turned-actor. Some people think Miyavi is going to get an Oscar nomination for playing the sadistic Japanese POW-camp leader, The Bird. Garrett Hedlund didn’t come to the premiere though, and I don’t see any pics of Jai Courtney or Domhnall Gleeson, so I guess Jack and Miyavi were the only actors to come. Still, it was probably a really nice event for the mostly Australian crew, and Angelina made sure some Aussie WWII veterans were invited to the premiere as well.

For the premiere, Angeline wore this very fitted and sleek Gucci gown. You know lace isn’t my jam, but this is okay. It’s fine. I prefer it to her sack dresses. Angelina’s been doing more body-con looks lately, which is nice. Maybe the sack dresses were a phase and now that she’s post-surgery and her breast reconstruction has “settled,” she feels more comfortable in tighter clothes.

On the red carpet, Angelina told The Mail that she and Brad feel different after the wedding: “I think we just feel that much closer. It makes us happy to be married, if that makes any sense. I don’t think we needed it but it feels … he’s my husband.”

Wow wow wow!!!! She looks amazing! She looks more gorgeous than ever. Stunning dress

    • Jag says:

      Absolutely gorgeous!

    • Zigggy says:

      Yes!

    • Belle Epoch says:

      LOVE this dress! So classy!

    • Clucky says:

Totally agree. Love, love, love that dress!

    • Charlie says:

I’m one of those people who said she looked bad 2 days ago and I must say, she’s looks incredible here. It must have been the makeup plus the dark dress that made her look ill.

      • SnarkySnarkers says:

ME TOO! She looks great! I think she got a good nights sleep and used foundation that didn’t make her look like a ghost. Stunning 🙂

    • phlyfiremama says:

She is all THAT and a bag of chips for sure!! WoW~I want to stare at her in all sorts of colored dresses as well~she is SO frigging beautiful~

    • TC says:

Wow, that dress is stunning and Angie is rocking the heck out of it! She’s beauty and elegance in motion, and I see Brad cleans up well for the “Mrs.” They both look incredible. The fans in OZ must be so thrilled to get the world premiere. These two can certainly make a red carpet exciting.

It’s just unfortunate that Louie didn’t live to see this day. 🙁

    • Camille (The Original) says:

Love the dress, she looks gorgeous.

    • BoredAndExtremelyDangerous says:

There is no doubt she is a stunning woman, and she’s looked gorgeous while here in Sydney. What’s more, she’s been so accomodating to everyone around her. I know it’s a film premiere and promotion, and therefore expected, but everyone who’s dealt with her here has spoken of her graciousness and friendliness. I believe she really appreciates our laid-back attitude towards “stars”. While she was here making the movie, people allowed her the freedom to go out with her kids – shopping, museums, tourist attractions, eating out etc., without hassling or fawning over her. She spoke of being able to recreate any scene she wanted in any location, and that the Australian crew were consummate professionals who made whatever she wanted/needed “happen”. She said they just always said, “no worries”, and loves that expression. I think she’s impressed and surprised everyone here with how she conducted herself then and now.

  2. lower-case deb says:

who is that petite lady between Miyavi and Brad? she’s very very beautiful. (although perhaps she should consider wearing darker brasierre due to all the flash lights).

    • Maya says:

I think she is Miyavi’s wife. In another video Angelina went straight to them and gave them a hug.

      • Andrea1 says:

Yes she is Miyavi’s wife.. So pretty.

      • lower-case deb says:

thanks for the info. wow! Miyavi and his wife is a strikingly handsome couple indeed!
i had thought that she’s an actress in the film, or at least a model or local (Aussie) starlet attending the red carpet. (because she looked so poised or at least comfortable on the red carpet. maybe it’s just the traditional Japanese grace).

      • lower-case deb says:

ETA: oh. just only learned that Miyavi’s wife, Melody is a big celeb in Japan! no wonder she looks at ease on red carpets.

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Miyavi and Melody are both beautiful–his wife is gorgeous.

  3. Liz says:

She looks amazing in that dress.

    • homegrrrl says:

She mostly looks statuesque and glowing. ..however, the lace placement on the breast area gives her an…ahem. ..downward shape. This is an unfortunate error on a bold gown. I’m probably going to be blocked on CB for seeing this, but it’s just a design oversight for this major celebuGoddess.

  4. smcollins says:

Love it! She’s gorgeous. And her husband ain’t bad either. 😉

    • Andrea1 says:

      So true! 😉

    • phlyfiremama says:

Husband is an awesome word!! Mine and I were at his folks house in Seattle when his Mother turned to me and said “Honey, marriage isn’t just a piece of paper”. It turns out that she was correct. 🙂

  5. aims says:

This is the best angelina has looked in a long time. The dress fits her like a glove.

  6. Kara says:

I had a dress like this in the late 90s from Bebe.

  7. littlestar says:

Wow, that dress is amazing and probably the most gorgeous thing she’s worn in a very long time!!!

    • lucy2 says:

I agree, I really love it and was surprised to see her in it. Her choices are usually rather plain or sack dresses, but that one is really pretty.

    • Esmom says:

Yes, it’s beautiful. I’m not usually a lace fan but this is a different take, bolder and more graphic, which is cool.

  8. Jayna says:

Did Angelina botox around her eyes? They have been having that hard, startled look in all of her latest photos, which is usually that botox look. I have never seen her ever look like that, and now she’s looked like that in three different sets of photos.

    I love the gown.

    • DenisePayne says:

I was a receptionist in a plastic surgeon’s clinic up until a year ago. Botox doesn’t give you wide eyes or wide startled eyes. That would be a a brow lift or eyelid lift. Which Angelina Jolie has definitely not had IMO she’s always had big eyes and she’s always given that serene wide eyed look on re carpets. Just google.

A common symptom of botox ‘around the eyes’ is not only the wonky appearance (sometimes one eyelid is lazy or wonky) and you can get what’s commonly known in the industry as ‘bat face.’ Because the botox paralyzes the muscles around the eyes the only muscles able to move normally are the tiny lid muscles which leads to the eyes and expression looking smaller and pinched because they are overworked and working to express while the other muscles are immobilized – hence bat face.

Jolie’s wide eyes and easy smiles are the opposite of that.

But whatever makes you feel better…a lot of the dissection and disassembling that women do to other women has little to do with reality many times and more to do with inherent petty jealousies.

      • Observer says:

Oh ffs DenisePayne! Jayna said nothing bad at all about Angelina, she simply asked a question based on her observations.
It’s people like you who turn people off from Angelina and her work.

      • Andrea1 says:

        @DENISEPAYNE
        Your comment is everything
Plus you clearly stated your points with evidence 🙂

      • DenisePayne says:

OH FFS observer, if you don’t like the fact that someone else has a knowledge base that exposes petty jealousies and/or ignorance…maybe don’t engage on message boards? Typically when a beautiful woman hits the red carpet and she looks not unlike she did in her previous 10 recent appearances or previous 10 years for that matter, it’s pretty obvious that these accusations might be taken as petty comments.

As for her ‘not saying anything bad about Jolie?’ Lol. You’re joking at this point, right? Half the people in here are constantly throwing shade because they’re bitter people it seems.

I happen to think most women would consider having a ‘botox look’ as an insult – so, please.

      • Someonestolemyname1 says:

Thanks for the info Denise P.

    • SkinnyFatHunnam says:

Oh no you can’t say that here *winks

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@SkinnyFatHunnam, who wrote: “Oh no you can’t say that here *winks”

Sure she can, this isn’t Female First. The OP asked a question, and DenisePayne answered the question and provided facts to back it up.

  9. Jenny says:

She looks terrible. That’s a fug doily dress.

    • bella says:

i don’t like the pattern or the neckline of the dress either…
but don’t you think the fit is gorgeous on her and certainly a step up from the matronly muumuus ?
      can’t touch that face, though…perfection.
i agree though that she’s tweeked something around the eyes.
      she shouldn’t mess with perfection…

      • Wilma says:

I know this sounds crazy, but I’m realising I like the sack dresses a lot. They give her this lovely softness.

    • AntiSocialButterfly says:

I’m on the fence with the dress…I think the white background is rather stark, but with so much lace maybe even a subtle color might not work with the deep black lace. Not wild about the waist or side-boob piping.

I still think her cup size post reconstruction is too large for her frame, she looks like she could topple over in a strong wind.

I do love her comment about her marriage; it is incredibly sweet. Best to them.

      Miyavi is very, very handsome!

    • Azurea says:

Ii do like the dress on her, but she looks painfully thin, and especially unwell in the face.

  10. Birdix says:

I’m distracted by the curvy line at the waist, which to my eye emphasizes her hip bones– possibly just in photos. But I like it. And am looking forward to seeing Unbroken.

    • **sighs** says:

This. I want to like the dress but it accentuates in all the wrong places.

    • Olenna says:

It’s having the same effect on me, too. I like the dress as well, but it makes her look just a tad unreal, like a Barbie doll.

      • SkinnyFatHunnam says:

She’s turned herself into a Barbie doll and I think it’s sad. She doesn’t look like a real person.

      • DenisePayne says:

Skinnyfathunam, haven’t people always described Jolie’s beauty as “other worldly,” and unattainable (though many a wannabe starlet/actress/celeb/model has tried via a plastic surgeon to look like her) – point being if u want normal, average, real or next door..go to walmart or watch a sitcom. Half the reason she gets the slams she does is because women realize that no, you can’t get a layer cut, a dye job, self tanner and the right pair of corkies and look like Angelina Jolie. You can do that with other celebs and in a lot of cases you will look better than they do. A lot better. But Jolie is kind of out of reach for most people.

      • Vvvoid says:

I agree: Megan Fox is a decent example of how, try as one might, one can’t get attain Angelina’s face without major reconstructive surgery and even then it won’t be close. She has naturally exaggerated features and because they’re natural they flow together unlike anything plastic surgery could do. Strangely, most guys I know nowadays don’t find her attractive anymore. I love her face but she looks 15 years older than she has to due to being so gaunt.
Now, Kim Kardashian’s look is easily attainable. See: Naya Rivera.

      • DenisePayne says:

Great points vvoid about Megan Fox…she’s a perfect example…of ‘try as she might.’

However, I don’t know what dragging what u think men are thinking about her has to do with anything – do u discuss what men think of Meryl streep, or Kate Winslet…to me it sounds like more shade that women throw at each other that beautiful women in particular inspire. Out come the claws…yet very subtley. Because of course ‘men,’ are what determines our value always (rolls eyes). Sad.

I don’t know a straight man alive who dismisses Jolie’s face. I know some women who like to say unbelievable things like ‘men hate her big juicy lips and big feline eyes.’ Yeaaaaah riiiiiiight….mmkay hon…suuure..it’s alright..shhh.’ lol

My husband thinks she’s skinny but he literally stopped dead in his tracks at a blow up of her face in a luxury hotel gift shop we were in last month. I wasn’t even mad because I was staring too. I even snapped a pic! Lol

If anything her maturity, her accomplishment and gravitas – motherhood and humanitarianism – has taken her out of the running for maxim babe of the year or whatever stupid sexy titles starlets are killing each other over nowadays – stuff that lonely dumb guys like to fapp to. Lol

Guys more revere her and look slack jawed typically. Like my hub. Her status at this point has gone legendary and iconic. It’s like Marilyn or Elizabeth Taylor or Newman or Redford or James Dean.

    • I went and looked–to me it made her look even MORE thick wasted, despite the structure that she has under her gown.

But I’m surprised I like this dress–I generally don’t like lace overlay stuff.

  11. Tiffany says:

    Damn Brad…ump!

  12. Jackson says:

I clicked on the post and fully expected to see a long, dark and fairly frumpy black lace sack dress. Wow. This is probably one of the best dresses I’ve ever seen her in. I’m generally not a fan of lace, especially black, but her dress is gorgeous.

  13. Andrea1 says:

    Amazing dress OMG
Angelina Jolie is a knock out in that dress… Perfection!
And just how hot is Brad Pitt!!!!
They totally killed it…. The crowd was huge. Massive turnout for unbroken many people waited 15hrs just to see brad and Angelina… Sydney is unbroken for Brangelina 🙂

  14. Jaderu says:

    She looks great.
    Brad, take your sunglasses off.

  15. anna says:

I actually like the dress for once. The anorexic body is another story.
Embargo for reviews until 2nd December. Oh well…

    • Maya says:

Anorexic body? Seriously? Body shaming has never been and never will be attractive.

    • julia says:

      Are you medically diagnosing her?

She does not look anorexic at all. Anorexic do not look like this. She is thin & has been for years. Her limbs are thin, but her body is fine.

Anorexia is a serious disease, not something to be snarky about. Not something to use to shame someone.

      • Andrea1 says:

Thumbs up to your comment Julia!

      • Dallas says:

“Anorexic do not look like this”……. Seriously!?! And you received your Medical, and Grammar degree from where?

        *

Someone was simply stating their opinion. No one is shaming Jolie!! The dress is not flattering on her breadstick body. Beautiful dress, but not on her.

      • Natasha says:

Um, calling someone anorexic, IS shaming her!! There is nothing that would flatter her according to you, Dallas. As others have said, she wears the heck out of this dress, she looks gorgeous. The dress, as we all can see, is VERY flattering for her body. Its the best she has looked in a long time. Deal with it. Lets be honest, you have made it clear you don’t like her for what ever reason so you will never, ever say she looks good. Julia was expressing her opinion, too, so stop going around and attacking Jolie fans for merely disagreeing with others. Who do you think you are? Stop targeting fans.

    • joe spider says:

Glad I’m not the only one – she looks dangerously thin.

      • Birdix says:

It might be the contrast between the full chest and the very thin upper arms that is confusing to the eye.

      • misstee says:

she got totally the wrong sized tata’s – for her body shape and weight.

And the sack dresses were not a phase after surgery they weer all she wore for years BEFORE surgery – pretty much as soon as she went public she was in body hugging outfits

      • Jayne says:

The dress is great, Its the boobs throwing me off. She really should have gone for smaller implants. Boobs like that on such a thin frame just give off a sleezy porn-star vibe.

      • L says:

This is definitely NOT her best look! Her face looks good as usual. I agree that she looks dangerously thin! She is a tall thin person, we all get it but bones are putruding! The dress is nothing special. Sure it fits like a glove by what did the doctor do to the boobs? They have never say right on her. (Not body shami g just saying they don’t sit right with the eye) I am an Angie fan but this is not a mind blowing look! One more thing, her dress is hiked up to high! Maybe if it were lower it would match better with the boxy boobs.

    • AntiSocialButterfly says:

      ( sits back with popcorn…)

  16. Maya says:

God difinetely took his time in creating this breathtakingly beautiful woman.

She looks glowing and Brad looks hot and proud of Angelina.

I have seen some tweets from people who have seen Unbroken and it seems to be a truly amazing movie. Cannot wait to see it.

    • lamamu says:

Maya, I’m addressing this question to you because I rarely comment, have a question, and you always seem to give reasonably measured responses. Okay, here goes (in a roundabout way): Jolie’s face looks so different to me than it did in Girl, Interrupted that I always assumed that she had some work done around the time of that movie (cheekbones, nose, upper lip increase, lower lip decrease…I don’t know.). Is that not a universally acknowledged fact? Disclaimer: I have no beef with Jolie (or Aniston!). I’ve just always thought she had a lot to work with in the first place and had a few tweaks toward perfection. *Runs for cover*

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@Lamamu, who wrote: “Jolie’s face looks so different to me than it did in Girl, Interrupted that I always assumed that she had some work done around the time of that movie (cheekbones, nose, upper lip increase, lower lip decrease…I don’t know.). Universally acknowledged fact? Only by some who, for reasons of their own, find it hard to believe someone could actually be born with such exquisite features and beauty. 🙂

“Girl Interrupted” was made in 1999. That was 15 years ago. Angelina Jolie was 24-years-old in 1999. She is 39-years old today. Her face was fuller then … it’s thinner now.

        Her lips?

        http://images.boomsbeat.com/data/images/full/892/angelina_baby-photo1-jpg.jpg

      • Maya says:

@Lamamu: no need to run and hide – you asked a reasonable question in a nice way without any snark. And you didn’t body shame her in the process either.

I personally think that Angelina hasn’t had anything done to her face. If you see pictures of her in her early to mid 20s – her face seems fuller with what I call baby fat.

After her mid 20s to present – she has lost that baby fat and that is what makes her features look a bit different. The only difference I can see between then and now is how her nose looks smaller. But then I just saw some new pictures and her nose looks exactly the same as it did years ago.

Weight is what changes Angelina’s face and not surgery is my guess.

      • lamamu says:

        @Emma: There are no words.
@Maya: I think you’re probably right about the weight loss. Her face does look more angular most likely as a result of that. Thanks for your response!

      • MariPoodle says:

Yes, she’s had work done. Nose job, possibly two. Chin augmentation and outer mandible (jaw) augmentation. You can google around and find older photos to compare her profile, etc. Kudos to her surgeon. He/she did flawless work to complement an already beautiful woman. She also gets a smidge of filler added to her upper lip to balance them out. Again, top shelf professional work. This is an example of the best plastic surgery. Like mascara and high lights it should complement you, not try to make you look like someone else. See also Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson.
Signed, takes one to know one, (but nowhere near her orbit)

  17. Jennifer says:

Her dress is cute but she looks scary skinny. You can count her bones. She looks unhealthy in my opinion.

    • julia says:

Rude. Can we stop body shaming for once?

The only bones I can count are her collar bones, which you can see on lots of people.

      • Artimis says:

@Julia, I don’t think it’s fair to call @Jennifer rude, she is only commenting on what is blatently obvious. Nor do I think it is body shaming. AJ is too skinny for her height whether it pleases you to admit that or not. I think, in this case, and I say this with respect, that you are the rude one here.

      • Natasha says:

I agree Julia. And no, you are NOT the one being rude. Ignore the ‘neutral’ poster below you.

      • FLORC says:

Right. With the counting bones comment it’s gone to shaming. Especially without seeing ribs, spine, etc…
This comment wasn’t stating facts. The snark is too obvious.

      • MrsNix says:

Well…we CAN see her bones. You can get all upset about someone admitting that we can SEE her BONES if you like, but I don’t really see the point.

Angelina Jolie is and will always be one of the most beautiful women who has ever graced this earth. She is uncommonly beautiful.

…and we can see her bones.

She has always been very thin, and I fully believe that her natural body type lends itself to this particular shape of slender. But she is thinner than usual and the dress and the lighting in these photos accentuates it.

It’s not “shaming.” The bones are right. there.

I really think slamming someone for pointing out the obvious is a bit ridiculous. Okay, I think it’s a LOT ridiculous. It’s over the top, really.

      • Malak says:

I agree Julia. Yes, you can see collar bones on lots of people. I can see mine. Loved Angie’s appearance at the Unbroken premiere. Look at her in the videos and listen to her, so lively. Loved the dress.
Best wishes to Unbroken. I hope the people who vote to decide the winners at the GG and Oscars will like the movie, the actors and, of course, its director.

      • Ennie says:

        @butterfly
They are giving their opinion too, it is tiresome to always hear the same old same old skinny accusations in this posts.

      • kelly says:

@Emma, I think your links usually prove your point. But I don’t think links of two dangerously thin women – women with much smaller frames than Angie, and who’ve been speculated to have eating disorders – is making your point.

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

        @Kelly ….

None of the people commenting on Angelina’s ‘dangerously thin frame’ have never made similar comments on threads for the two women linked above. Nor have I read any comments in threads related to the two women linked above–especially Amal Clooney–mentioning eating disorders. Hence, my post and the links. I agree that Angie is larger than both women, which is why I don’t understand why ‘she’ alone gets the ‘eat something, dangerously thin’ comments regardless of how she actually looks.

      • FLORC says:

        Kelly
That speculation came when they were much, much thinner. And it’s since faded to the normal speculation on whatever skinny actress is on the red carpet. Sadly, that’s the norm and it shouldn’t apply for reasons of this discussion. Some speculation never goes away even if those actresses have since recovered.
Also, many misjudge Jolie’s frame. It’s always been tiny. Just as many misjudged her cup size. She has a wide rib cage with throws off perception as a whole.

    • AntiSocialButterfly says:

      To all:

Since when is being allowed to speak your opinion on a gossip/opinion blog verboten just because it is disagreeable to some? Wow.

Debate topics all you like, respectfully. Slights lend to use of ad hominem attacks which make this no fun for anyone.

      • moo says:

yup. and she wrote what many of us thought.

      • doofus says:

I have to agree with you butterfly.

people say over and over how beautiful she is. that’s apparently OK.

        AND…

people say over and over how thin she is. apparently not OK.

why is one OK and one not?

      • kri says:

        Nicely stated, AntiSocial Butterfly.

      • Cindy says:

Thank you AntisocialButterfly. I am a fan and I don’t think she looks well. Yes she is beautiful, but she is too thin. Scary thin. Its like its the elephant in the room. Doesn’t mean she isnt wonderful (she is), but she looks gaunt.

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@AntiSocialButterfly, who wrote: “Since when is being allowed to speak your opinion on a gossip/opinion blog verboten just because it is disagreeable to some? Wow.”

I agree with you, and I’ll readily tip my hat to you if I ever see this same comment from you (or @Artimis or @Mayamae) posted on a Jennifer Aniston thread. 🙂

      • FLORC says:

Some just don’t take kindly to trolling of sorts. Concern trolling here.

      • MrsNix says:

        Exactly, Butterfly. Exactly.

  18. SlvrPdle says:

She looks amazing, stunning, and beautiful in that dress! Loving the more body con stuff on her. I am not a brangeloonie, but WOW! Amazing!

  19. BlueeJay says:

Beautiful dress. Not liking her hair up all the time. Makes her look very severe.

  20. Janet says:

Fug, are you kidding me? That dress is drop-dead gorgeous and she is wearing the hell out of it. I like to see her in prints. She looks much better in that photo. At the Hollywood film awards she looked jet-lagged. It looks like she got a good rest.

  21. Artimis says:

Nice dress (actually the best one I’ve ever seen her in IMO) but for the love of God, eat something.

    • julia says:

Would you go tell a fat person to stop eating?

She does eat. She has been thin for years. What is this obsession with telling skinny people to eat a cheeseburger? it is rude. Some people eat a LOT and are super skinny.

      • bns says:

Eat a cheeseburger is just a saying. No one is expecting her to literally eat a cheeseburger.

And, for the record, fat people are always criticized for being overweight and told to go on a diet and stop eating, so I don’t see why you keep bringing it up to prove some kind of point.

      • Lou says:

Actually people do not shame fat celebs the way they shame thin ones from what I have seen
When someone attacks McCarthy’s weight, they are called out on it and not allowed to do it.

        @Lou

Not allowed to do it? Who exactly is stopping them? People call celebrities like Melissa McCarthy and Gabourey Sidibe fat all of the time.

      • misstee says:

and what’s your obsession with jumping down peoples throats on a GOSSIP website??

Im a naturally thin person and I don’t roll up into a ball when people tell me ive got to the gaunt stage and I need to get some donuts in me – because its TRUE – theres a point in everyones weight where it starts to look unhealthy.

      • MrsNix says:

I have an adolescent daughter. If I see her getting to an unhealthy weight in either direction, I would gently push her to modify her diet. It’s not “shaming” anyone–especially someone you love–to encourage healthy choices.

If my daughter came out wearing a strappy shirt, and I could count every bone in every joint on her torso like in these photos, I would hug her and tell her she’s beautiful…and do you know what I’d do next?

I’d say, “Baby, for the love of God, please go into the kitchen and make yourself something to eat.” Because I’m her mother, and it’s my job. Were she getting a little heavy, I might repeat the scenario but by taking a sugar soda out of her hand and telling her to go pour herself a glass of water or tea, instead. None of that equates to body shaming. It’s called guardianship and loving investment.

Your multiple comments berating people here (on a celebrity gossip blog) for very mild responses to an alarming lack of adipose tissue on a woman we all admire…is something worrisome all on its own. Seriously. Give it a rest.

    • BNA FAN says:

Artimis, are you going to say eat something every time you see a photo of Angelina? That’s so ten years old, find something new, like Angelina has one if tge most beautiful face you have seen, try it. Artimis, you will feel better about yourself for carrying a grudge against a strong, beautiful and giving woman, free yourself. JA just said she is not carrying a grudge anymore because it’s like taking poison hoping the other person dies.

      • Artimis says:

BNA Fan, I think you are far too invested in a couple that you don’t personally know and I don’t appreciate your tone. This is a COMMENTS page and I am entitled to say something about AJ if I like – and can I just ask, what the hell would I carry a grudge against her for??? I’m just not as naive as some people are to her – I see the good and bad. And where the hell did a mention of JA come from? Did I mention her? I think you need professional help if you can’t see both sides of a story and you take criticism of someone you DON’T KNOW, so personally. Grow up.

And BTW beauty is matter of opinion. I don’t find her particularly beautiful but I don’t think she’s ugly.

      • Natasha says:

Yes, this. We all know she needs to eat more, why say it all the time. Artimis sorry but I think you are being rude and aggressive. I don’t know if you do say the same thing all the time, but its basically trolling imo to say the same thing over and over again, every time. It becomes redundant. Yes, we know she is thin. We don’t need to read it on every single story, it gets ridiculous stating the obvious all the time. And that is for every poster not just you.

        Hence my query. 🙂

      • mayamae says:

@Emma, it’s safer on the sidelines. If you’ll notice, my only two comments on this thread are responding to you. Believe it or not, I actually bite my tongue (or fingers I guess) a lot before posting. I’m not a rabble-rouser, I’m actually a pretty nice person. I don’t comment much on the JA threads, because I find them pretty unpleasant as a rule. I understand people are extremely passionate with these women, but I find I’m a little more objective. Animal issues on the other hand ………

    • DenisePayne says:

Since two skinny brunettes have literally landed the hottest men alive….maybe Mama june and all the other women should put DOWN the cheeseburger.

  22. wfb says:

She looks fabulous! And with that face does the dress really matter?

  23. Reece says:

I like it but I don’t…the lace pattern is off. It kinda gives a peplum illusion. I think this is one of those dresses where she makes it look better than it is.

  24. PurpleCandyCane says:

    She looks simply stunning.

  25. kendra says:

I agree Angelina is wearing the hell out of that dress. She looks great.

  26. DenG says:

I watched Girl, Interrupted again yesterday and there it is. Slender, thin, whatever you want to call it. That’s the way she is and has been. Carry on, Angie. You look great.

    • bns says:

Yes, she’s always been thin, but that’s a bad example to use since she’s admitted that she was abusing drugs at the time.

      • DenisePayne says:

FIrst of all ‘admitted?’ I think she gave interviews and just talked about her issues, no one forced her to ‘admit,’ anything – she just told it like it was.

That said, my guess is the reason why Jolie won coveted roles and broke box office records in her late teens and early 20s and worked constantly is because she’s always towed the line and been professional onset (no duis, no arrests, no passing out, no slurring onstage, no falling down and stumbling around) – you don’t even get cast (especially not for big budget films) because of insurance premiums if you’re deemed an eff up. Ask downey jr.

She had her demons, conquered them, and then told u about them. A lot were none the wiser. So what I’m trying to say is – for u to claim that she was using onset or taking drugs while filming is the height of irresponsibility since you have no evidence and no clue. All evidence (like continued employment as an a-list in feature films back then) suggests differently. If she was, she cleaned up ahead of time way before filming.

Considering she was the sole provider of care and healthcare for her mom who had been diagnosed with what’s usually always terminal cancer..I’m of the opinion that she wouldn’t have dared jeopardize her employ in any capacity.

      • bns says:

        DenisePayne

What are you going on about? She has always been open about being troubled in her past. And she has literally said that she abused drugs in her youth. You wrote a whole lot of nonsense over nothing.

      • DenisePayne says:

What are u going on about BSN – do try to keep up with the convo thread.

Now then, a poster took issue with the haters incessantly mentioning Jolie’s size ( when she never changes a lick) and posted a pic of her in GI where she’s the same large busted thin stemmed girl of today.

A meangirl piped up to say that a GI pic shouldn’t be used as a gauge for Angie’s weight, as she ‘admitted to taking drugs at the time.’ As if that was the reason for her slimness, and any GI pics wouldn’t count. Plain stupid.

It was a stupid nonsensical thing to say since Jolie was the same size in 1999 as she was in 2003 as she was in 2007, 2009 etc. Furthermore if Jolie was using while filming she would have been canned and never worked again..there is such a thing as liability, insurance premiums and clauses on projects. Eff ups don’t get hired nor do they get 10 mil contracts at 22 yrs of age. Not saying she didn’t do drugs – she’s the one who told you that she did drugs…i am saying drugs onset wasn’t the reason she was skinny on GI..she’s always been a skinny kid. Please stop deliberating misunderstanding

  27. lisa2 says:

She looks freaking gorgeous.. I saw close up pics of her face.. She is what the words STUNNING and Breathtaking should be applied to.

Brad looks so damn good.. I love how much time they spent with the crowds of THOUSANDS..

the dress fits perfect and her makeup is on point..

NO FLAWS found on this look.

  28. tabasco says:

For AJ, who usually (with a few random exceptions) bores me with fashion b/c she’s just not into it, this is killer. She does strapless column very well – it seems like she’s been doing that shape more lately. And that dress fits like a glove. Looks super well-tailored. Really like the scalloped shape of the neckline. Agree with some of the others who have said she looks “too thin,” but I think she’s just naturally quite thin. I think that black wave-shaped detail around the waist/hips helps give the illusion of a bit more of an hourglass shape than she really has. As for the fabric, don’t love it, don’t hate it either.

  29. SnarkGirl says:

So great to see her showing off her amazing figure again. She looks gorgeous and I would love to have that dress! That is lace done right – elegant and not at all frou-frou.

  30. whatsmyname? says:

The only thing I like about the dress is the fit and that hairstyle is not good on her. She is georgeous regardless. Is that Miyavis girlfriend or something? She is really pretty.

  31. doofus says:

I’m not usually a fan of lace but I do like this. she looks great…however…

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks “THIN!” when I see her. I try not to body-shame, and I know she’s naturally thin-limbed…but my first thought when I saw these pics was “yikes”. those shoulder bones could cut glass. she looks a bit tired, too…so I’m going to go with “she’s been busting her butt working and is exhausted.”

I hope she will take sometime off and spend it with her fam and new husband…and it’s nice what she said about being married.

    • Tulip Garden says:

I promise I am not thread-stalking you! Anyway, I agree with you again. The thing is that, to me, Jolie’s best recent look was the “menswear” outfit she wore to …something, I’m sure others know the event. That outfit enhanced her figure while downplaying the less attractive parts of her (i.e. thin limbs, boxy shape). With that said, I really like this dress but think because of the aforementioned issues, Jolie would have been better off to wear something sleeved. Also, I am not body shaming her, we all have issues that we dress our best to minimize and features that we try to enhance. I just don’t think the column dresses are her particular friend right now.

      • doofus says:

        Stalker! KIDDING!

yeah, that tux she wore to one of Pitt’s premiers was awesome. sexy and classy. I think when she wears her hair up that it accentuates her thinness. she had her hair down when she wore the tux and it looked much better.

      • Tulip Garden says:

        I’m not stalking you…..much anyway 😉

Sexy…that’s exactly what that tux was! That was really a “wow” look because Jolie did bring her old sexiness to the fore. I haven’t found her sexy in years (and definitely not in the latest round of pictures) but, it just goes to show what dressing FOR your figure can do for you.
As to Jolie’s hair, when it is down (and styled) it truly is her crowning glory. To me, she should wear her hair down on the red carpet but up on her day to day look because in her day to day look her hair often looks kind of stringy, undone, just there.
*Leaves thread to go and “not stalk” Doofus on a different thread*
**Whistles so no one will notice non-stalking….especially Doofus**

      • doofus says:

        I SEE YOU…

        😉

    • Ally.M says:

I agree doofus. I like the dress too but she looks unwell, grey even. I used to struggle to put on weight, it’s horrible when everyone says ‘eat something’ but there comes a point when you can’t afford lose any more and you have to put all your energy in to getting healthy.

  32. Nessa says:

I mean… She is too thin. She looks sickly sometimes. And this from a hard core Angelina fan. To me, she is the most beautiful woman in the world, both on the inside and the outside. She just needs a little more meat on her bones. It’s a health issue at this point. She looked the healthiest during her Lara Croft days. That’s just my opinion.

    • Lou says:

She has talked about how she had to work for months for her lara croft body because it is not her natural body shape.

Her arms have been this thin for the last 10 years.

    • Ennie says:

If you were a true fan you would know that she had to force herself with special diets and exercises to get the Lara croft shape and use padding in her chest and hips.
That look does not come natural to her.

      • Nessa says:

Umm. I am a true fan in the sense that I truly want the best for her and think she is wonderful. Do I know everything about her like you? No. I do not care that much. And I still think she is too thin.

  33. Jessica says:

She looks gorgeous. I love the dress. I’ve seen some stunning photos on Twitter. I really love the fan pics.

  34. Nev says:

it’s okay. the dress is kinda wearing her I think.

    • Santolina says:

+1 and I think she needs to wear designs that cover her shoulders and arms because they are not best features, regardless of whether she has always looked this way.

  35. kri says:

That dress is stunning. Miyavi is giving AJ some serious competition with his gorgeous bone structure! Everyone looks amazing. I’m excited for this film.

  36. chaine says:

Dress is not my style, but it’s refreshing to see her in something that isn’t a dreary black drapery. I agree that her reconstruction has “settled.” Size and shape of her bustline looks much more proportional now, and she seems more comfortable. But what’s with Brad and the Jack Nicholson sunglasses? Ick.

    • Ennie says:

He has sensitive eyes. After 40, some of us folks may even develop the scary glaucoma (like Bono), so… Dark glasses is a good strategy to prevent trying to walk without seeing just specs of light .
Talkig as a gal with serious sensitive eyes.

      • BlueeJay says:

Are you saying you think Brad has glaucoma?

      • Ennie says:

No, because his parents seem to be in very good shape and their eyes look just fine, but he does have sensitive eyes, as he has said so himself. I never said HE had it, but he is caring for his eyes, and it is silly that there are people calling him out on his glasses.
Bono has been criticised for his sunglasses wearing, so much that he “came out” with his glaucoma diagnosis. I am a young and hip 44 year old who has had 2 parents with glaucoma. I know it is a genetic issue, and you can have it and with good care you will hardly ever suffer the effects.
I am being nice to you, BJ, regardless that I think you are just looking for bad things to say about the JPs hehehe.

      • @BlueeJay
She’s saying Brad is old and broke down 😉

      • Ennie says:

Oh Virgilia. I would never. I have a 33 yr old husband, yes, but I’d NEVER say no to Brad Pitt ever ever ever. I have already peeked at his pecs and bum! (my husband does not check my posts, of course, hehehe).
        .
Least that all, he is just a few years older that this broke down, old, forever glass wearer poor me.

      • @Ennie
It’s more my joke than yours…..I never thought that Brad was all that (physically) until he aged–I never liked him as a young pretty boy, I like him as an aging pretty boy. He was just too pretty.

      • Ennie says:

        @virgilia

well, actually I’d say no if he were wearing his beaded beard of a few years ago! AJ obviusly loves him in every state, beaded beard included! 😉
(And please dont forget I am not a native speaker of English in case of misunderstandings)

  37. scout says:

Black and white is always classy, love the dress. A touch of red lipstick brings out her beauty than a nude lipstick. Red lipstick brightens my day too!

  38. Penelope says:

Love that dress on her. Not many could pull it off, though.

  39. serena says:

Somewhat seeing Miyavi next to Brangelina makes me happy (big fan of all of them).. is that his wife?

  40. Mean Hannah says:

This dress – and the Versace she wore at the HFA – fits her so well! You can really tell that she’s a star at another caliber, with both fashion houses taking the time to make sure everything fits to perfection. She’s a beautiful women and she looks good here, but I don’t like the pattern the lace is making at the top and at the waist.

I don’t want to get into the whole she is too thin, she’s always been thin, she’s sick, etc. but I do want to point out that if you cover her arms, she’s no thinner than most actresses. With her body type, she would have to gain a lot of weight to see any softness in her arms.

I’m the complete opposite of her – I have very skinny torso, but normal arms and legs. Most people would consider me slender but nothing too alarming, but when I wear body-conscious dress or anything that accentuates my waist or shows some skin, people think I’m anorexic because you can see and count my ribs and my vertebrae. For me to have some softness in my torso, I’d have to gain about 40 pounds – and when I did, I had double chin, went up 3 or 4 sizes in clothing, had ankle and knee pains, but still had my back bone stick out.

    • Ennie says:

Hahaha and i just gain a bit of weight and my back looks like a ham! Oh, body issues, we are all different.
I think that AJ really doesn’t care about her arms. She does cover them sometimes, but she likes her strapless, she is confident in herself, I like that!

  41. shizwhat says:

I LOVE this dress and I think it looks amazing on her! Her make up is a little off like usual though. They dont often get her skin tone right for some reason.

  42. Chris2 says:

I generally hate all dressy gowns but this looks great…..largely due to the neckline, eschewing the predictable cleavage reveal of such garments!
If I really had to alter anything, I’d lighten Angelina’s hair a little, maybe a few streaks if not all over. But she looks divine anyway….and Brad, yum.

  43. Lady Alex says:

She’s wearing a corset, and a pretty tight one at that. She wears them on the red carpet a lot, and I’m always surprised it’s not more of a conversation piece. I love that she wears them! It’s sexy, and for us apple-shaped girls, helps give the illusion of a waist. You can be as skinny as she is, but with that body type, it can be impossible to have lovely curvy hips, so corsets really do the trick. Her ribs are much more narrow than usual in that dress- so it’s a tight one. I’d kill to see her collection.

  44. khaveman says:

    skin and bones.

    • COSquared says:

^With comments like these on this site, we’re seeming to morph into some celeb-RoyalDish. Criticizing w/o flat out meaness is getting harder with every other thread. SMH.

  45. Sara says:

I am not trying to body sham her as she probably has an eating disorder. The fact is she is underweight and whatever the reason it is what it is. She is so beautiful but looks like a bobble head now.

    • Ennie says:

Where is that composed picture of Angelina’s red carpets through the years when one needs it?
Nevermind, there are negatives who will never change.

  46. Someonestolemyname1 says:

    Absolutely stunning. Gorgeous.

  47. enastein says:

The photos in dailymail are even more gorgeous, she is extremely beautiful in day lights.

  48. Amcn says:

She looks just perfect. I was thinking she looked so thin at HFA but I think she looks much better here. I just think the lighting at HFA was f’d up, everyone looked a little sickly.

Her body looks fab in my opinion and the dress accentuates her curves and brightens her up a bit. I haven’t seen her look this good in a while. Perfect makeup too, I prefer her with nude lips and I think the updo brings more focus to her face, which you can’t go wrong with.

    • Ennie says:

I know she loves her black, and she will continue wearing that grey/ black palette, especially now that she is doing and promoting her directing gigs. I love her in black and all, but I know she looks great in jewel tones, is here an expert in colorimetry (sp)?
What would you say Angelina is? I am confused if she is a “winter” or a “summer”?
I kind of think I am autumn and I look better in orange outfits, which not everyone likes.

      • Santolina says:

Love this topic! I think she’s a Summer. Often, people who were blonde, blue-eyed children are Summers, even though their hair may darken. She looks so lovely in soft creams and pastels. I don’t think she’s a Winter because black and white look too harsh on her.

      • doofus says:

yeah, she does love her black sacks but I also love her in jewel tones.

a rich royal blue or deep red/purple both look great on her.

      • Ennie says:

        OOOHHH PURPLE!
I’d love to see her in purple or burgundy just to see her eyes stand out, but for that it would have to be a premiere for her as an actress in a lighter film, so no, I don’t think it will happen anytime soon 😀
when searching in google there are only one or two pics of her in purple, TWO!
the most similar to burgundy I have seen her in is that fabulous dark chocolate dress she wore for Cannes a few years ago.
yes, AJ looks great in off-whites and beiges, and in soft feminine fabrics, tho the jewel tones seem made for her.

  49. Lorelai says:

Why was the world premiere in Australia when Louis Zamperini was an American hero? Am I missing something?

  50. Lahdidahbaby says:

I think her figure looks great in the side-view pic. Really perfect.

I hate lace dresses, though, unless they’re a subtle pattern without contrast. Too busy for me.

Otherwise I think she looks great – and it’s nice to see a perfectly fitted designer dress on a celeb for a change, so many rc dresses lately have been ill-fitted or not fitted at all, as if the designer who loaned it out wanted it returned in its original shape. Designers do themselves a major disservice when they send a star out in an ill-fitting example of their designs. Helps no one.

This is the best-fitting dress I’ve seen on any red carpet in a while. Just don’t like lace with that much contrast.

  51. Abby says:

She looks incredible. I’m a late comer to the brangeloonie train, but here I am. I asked my husband to take me to see Unbroken for my Christmas present. We have a 1 year old, and I’ve seen two movies in the theater this year–Frozen (with baby) and Catching Fire. Unbroken was one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. Really looking forward to the film!

    • scout says:

I feel you! I didn’t go to any movies for the first 2 yrs after I had my babies too! Hope you do get your XMas present and enjoy the movie! 🙂

  52. Karen says:

Perfection. Love the dress. The book Unbroken was amazing. Looking forward to movie.

  53. spaniard says:

Miyavi and his wife are gorgeous. I loved his music when I was younger, he and Ayumi Hamasaki were my japanese idols.

  54. Laura says:

Angelina is quite possibly the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on! The fact that she does her best to help better the lives of others through her humanitarian/UN refugee work only serves to heighten her beauty, in my opinion.

another fave is one on lainey…someone is handing her a stuffed animal (koala?) and the look on her face is hilarious. great pic.

  58. JenniferJustice says:

I like the dress. It’s refreshing for her v. the usual plain straight lines she chooses.

BYW, There is nothing wrong with saying someone looks too skinny. That is not body shaming and it’s not jealousy. Tim McGraw looked skeletal at the CMAs. I immediately googled for other’s input. It’s not because I wanted him to be ashamed and it’s not because I’m jealous of him. For Heaven’s sake, can’t people voice an opinion any more. I didn’t even say anthing about Jolie’s weight or her body, but others on here are getting blasted for showing what could be plain curiosity or even concern. Jolie doesn’t need defending and if there were something wrong such as Anorexia or drugs, it’s better to bring it out in the open so girls and young women don’t think it’s natural or what to strive for.

    • TC says:

I think it’s the use of the word anorexic (not skinny), that some people are opposed too. Saying someone is anorexic is, in fact body shaming, particularly when Angelina doesn’t look in any way anorexic. Yes, she looks skinny, but she’s always been skinny and there are countless online photos over the years Angie has been in the public spotlight to support this case.

In terms of voicing your opinions. Of course you and anyone else is free to voice your opinion, But just realize, it goes both ways. So you’re free to disagree with my opinion just as I am free to disagree with yours.

      • JenniferJustice says:

I understand when we post anything on these threads, we open ourselves up to varying opinions. I expect this and even welcome it because I see it as learning from others’ perspectives. I understand passion too, so it’s realistic to expect emotional responses, but some of the responses are fanatical – tyranical verbal explosions. That’s not just a difference of opinion – that’s unneccessary and frankly, sounds like emotionally unstable people who think they have a personal relationship with some of these celebrities. They think they’re doing good by showing loyalty to whatever celeb it is they’re defending, but if I were said celebrity, I would not want these people sticking up for me.

I don’t know what it is about Angelina Jolie but some of her fans come on like they’re ready to brawl over some petty comment on a gossip website. I’m actually a fan of AJ, but the fact is, she’s well below her BMI and that is not healthy. Yes, she has always been skinny, and she has also battled drugs and mental problems in the past too, so that isn’t a valid argument. And she is more than just skinny – her bones stick out (clavical, elbows, hips). Perhaps that is her natural weight, but it’s also only natural that people see it as a sign of a possible problem because if it is just her nature, that’s rare. In most cases, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. I doubt it with her – she doesn’t eat much and I suspect she’s high-energy. All I’m saying is there’s nothing wrong with curiosity or questioning and the repetitive accusation that if you don’t like someone or something about someone, automatically means you must be jealous. It doesn’t. Case in point, I can’t stand LeAnne Slimes and I could probably find 100 things to crab out her in 30 seconds, but it doesn’t mean I’m jealous and in cases where she has crash dieted and taken poop pills, it does seem there might be an eating disorder. Saying so isn’t body-shaming, it’s stating the obvious, wondering out-loud and looking for feed-back. That’s it. I give up.

      • Jessica says:

@JenniferJustice I agree that Angie is too thin but I hate when people say she’s anorexic. Maybe if they were a doctor and actually gave her a diagnosis. That’s like saying someone is obese and I’m not their doctor. Also, I frequently follow these threads and I see many of the same people that body shame her, they aren’t considered about her being too skinny, it’s just passive aggressive comments. They act like they are concerned with her health and then the next comment is something snarky and mean spirited.

Angie definitely hasn’t always been THIS skinny. Also there is no distinctive look for anorexia. People of any weight can be anorexic… it’s a mental disease not a body type. A friend of mine has had a long struggle with anorexia. She has recently gained some weight (thankfully) and she LOOKS like a normal healthy weight, but she’s still anorexic.

And even if Angie had always been skinny, that doesn’t prove she doesn’t have an eating disorder. It’s hard to tell just by looking sometimes.

      • TC says:

@ JenniferJustice — Possibly the reason for fans’ outrage is that Angie has been skinny for decades. This is her body type. Always has been and probably always will be. You can see it in photos of her mother who had skinny arms and legs. The weight conversation is tiring because there’s nothing new being added to the discourse. But if you want to continue saying the exact same thing that’s been said for decades now, have at it. Just don’t be offended to get a response you may consider “fanatical,” “tyrannical” or “mentally unstable (your words),” because it’s a broken record. Fans get tired of hearing it and it doesn’t elevate the conversation in any way because it’s just recycled information.

Angie’s Mom, Marcheline Bertrand, for comparison: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B2k-KlAIQAAT2QE.jpg

      • JenniferJustice says:

Again, I didn’t receive any harsh responses because I didn’t rip on her. I said others are receiving harsh responses for their comments on her weight. I, too, think she will always be skinny – I think it’s just who she is. And I’m not offended by the responeses people get on here, I’m shocked and don’t understand the viciousness. I get the impression, though, that you’re looking for a fight with me, so let’s just move on.

I agree with you on the dress and on the fact that talking about her weight is not necessarily thin-shaming (though it might well be it in some people’s cases). People notice things and most of the time it’s not about ill will when they talk about their observations.
I could be in the minority though, because I think she looks normal, in a thin, 10% body-fat, low-tier of normal weight kinda way. I for one am not worried.
And can we please not use anorexic as an insult? Anorexia is a mental illness, and it’s hell, and we should not pass the word around like a bottle of ketchup.
ED: TC, posted before your comment showed up, and I concur.

Why is it okay for haters to say that Angelina is anorexic, had massive plastic surgery, ugly but it’s not okay for anybody to say she isn’t? It’s funny how the haters go ballistic when anybody doesn’t agree and whine that they can’t express their opinions. You can’t express your opinion and throw a fit when somebody disagrees with you.

Lovely dress. The tatoos on the other hand are not lovely in my opinion…Re: weight issue, Angelina has really been through alot with both of her preventative surgeries and the breast reconstruction. She might just be the type that doesn’t eat when she’s stressed. I hope all is going well for her healthwise.

  60. siri says:

I don’t like the dress very much, but it’s very well tailored, and not black, so it’s an improvement. But her overall look is healthier, and that’s good to see.

  61. Terry says:

Angelina is anorexic, She maybe naturally beautiful but is too thin these.

  62. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0mvazeP-34

Found this video of the premiere–she gets teary eyed when she talks about Louis. So sad. And she looks a lot better on video. I think what’s throwing me off, is her shoulders/collar bones. She has wide shoulders (I have the same ones, and I hate it), and the collar bones are sticking out a lot. But her face looks really good–she looks well rested and not as exhausted as she was at the HFA’s. Yes, she’s skinny–but again, I think it’s her wide shoulders and collar bones that make her look worse/skinnier.

    • RobN says:

I don’t know how you can look at her arms and hands and say that. Zero muscle tone, it’s just skin hanging on bones.

      • Her arms have always been like that–with the exception of Tomb Raider. They’ve had a couple of pounds in them, but she’s always had stick arms. I remember watching MAMS–the tango scene, and how shocked I was at how thin her arms were. And I remember showing my brother a closeup of her arm when I was watching Gone in 60 Seconds (veiny and thin) and he was very shocked that it was a woman’s arm. She definitely lost weight in her thighs (unless they digitally added weight to them in the movie), and her face–but the rest of her looks pretty much the same. And she’s always had long, thin hands and feet–especially apparant at the end of Girl, Interrupted when they have her strapped to the bed. Very long and ‘skeletal’….

And people say that she was too skinny for Salt–she said in an interview that she was drinking protein shakes and working out with hand weights for that movie.

        @virgilia
The otehr day I was googling old pics of the Voight-Bertrand family and i notce how both parents were slim and had gangly arms, their hands are slim, and Jon’s are big and square.
Well, pretty eyes, big cheeckbones and slim, gangly extremities seem to run in that family.

    • maddelina says:

I think it’s her large jawbone and the old lady hairstyle. Plus the shoes are platform so they add to the illusion of height but emphasize her thin frame. Beautiful eyes!

  63. tc says:

She looks like a Madam in an Old West Brothel.

    Beautiful face, of course.

  64. some bitch says:

Dress is lovely, but she needs to put on 15-20 pounds because she looks like total hell.

  65. TOPgirl says:

My mouth dropped seeing her in this beautiful gown! She looks absolutely amazing!

  66. Catk says:

I think she needs a new makeup artist. She could use a better match on foundation, and a little blush would liven up her face.

I wish she would do some weight training to add some muscle to her frame, help fill her out.

  67. hmmm says:

Wow. She really DOES look a lot like a barbie doll- one skinny, waxy pneumatic babe. I do like the dress.

  68. veronica says:

She is starting to look like Dolly Parton to me- with the oversized bust and stick figure and large fake lashes….cannot belive she is only 39- looks 49!

    • BNA FAN says:

I see all the FF fans are here which means Angelina Jolie Pitt is looking fabulous. Whenever the FF hens gather on a Brad and Angie’s thread it means the Jolie Pitts are looking F A B I L O U S .

    • Natasha says:

RME at veronica. Obvious troll is obvious.

  69. Ennie says:

Angelina, even at heavily pregnant had skinny arms and bony shoulders. Her weight also fluctuates constantly. I bet she is now under a lot of pressure because of her films.

  70. chelsea says:

Lace isn’t for her..With her looks, there are things she could wear that no one else could that she could get by with, but which would suit her best. Why not go for it? Anyone can wear lace.

  71. Jax says:

Angelina is a naturally thin person. Period. If she were severely malnourished you would not see the glowing skin and shiny hair. I wouldn’t mind seeing her with a few more pounds on her, but she has said that it goes right to her trunk and tummy. Who wants that?

They both look gorgeous here. Happiness agrees with them.

  72. CuriousCole says:

Perfection!!! I LOVE this dress! It isn’t black, it isn’t a sack 🙂 I’m so agog I’m turning into Dr Seuss…
I think Kaiser’s theory of Angie preferring (needing?) loose, matronly styles for her surgery was also Angelina trying to keep the focus on her work, instead of her weight. While admirable, I hope that phase is behind her so we can all enjoy more of these amazing frocks.

  73. Kitsch says:

She’s scarily thin still but I love this look on her. I will faint if she ever switches to a print. She’s usually in block colours and “safely”-shaped red-carpet dresses. Kudos for doing something different.

  74. debutante says:

Her boob implants are too big.
Its always the first thing I think whenever I see a picture of her now. Ridiculously large for her skinny, yes, skinny, frame. Maybe she got them huge thinking they would add some needed heft to her body? The gown adds some light to her face. She should wear ivory more often. Looks good on her .

  75. dpatz says:

Hey – totally agree with people above – she looks WAY more rested and better for the premiere. I think the black and make up washed her out.

I actually came here to say that what struck me about the pictures was the AMAZING reconstructive surgery job – nicely done doctors. Probably a pretty great upside (apart from reducing cancer chances) to going through the preventative mastectomy is you get to reconstruct your breasts again (if you can afford it of course!)…

  76. Dawn says:

She looks absolutely wonderful! It is a great dress.

  77. MY TWO CENTS says:

She looks absolutely stunning and healthy to me. She is a high energy person that probably has a very fast burning metabolism. People should not say anything about anorexia. Don’t make such a decision about her when you know zero information about her eating habits or life!! She always appears to have such grace and elegance. Brad looks handsome as always. I think they are a great couple and they do a lot of great things for other people less fortunate.
