Pippa Middleton named Kim Kardashian’s butt the ‘Rear of the Year’

wenn21669317

More than three-and-a-half years have passed since then-Kate Middleton married Prince William. And since then, Pippa Middleton has seen her popularity rise suddenly, then fall off dramatically. Sometimes it seems like Pippa is only interesting to Americans these days, and even then… I’m sure NBC News could find a better use for the money they’re going to pay Pippa to give us stupid #PippaTips4Yanks. Anyway, Pippa is still grasping to fame with both hands. And she will not STAHP talking about her ass of lies, especially how her ass of lies compares to other asses of lies. Pippa “wrote” an essay/blog post for The Spectator in which she ruminated on various stupid things, including her thoughts on Kim Kardashian:

No year is complete without a bottom story, and the ‘Rear of 2014’ award undoubtedly goes to Kim Kardashian, after her posterior exploded all over the internet last month. I must say that mine — though it has enjoyed fleeting fame — is not comparable. But the Kim butt story did make me pause. What is it with this American booty culture? It seems to me to be a form of obsession. Kim’s aim, apparently, was to break the internet, but I’m not sure she’s going the right way about it.

[From The Spectator]

Obviously, Pippa’s bum is not comparable to Kim’s. Pippa’s bum was the product of a well-cut dress and padding. Kim’s is the result of genetics and butt implants. But the bigger question is why Pippa even felt the need to chime in? Is it because the Middletons are very similar to the Kardashians? Is it because Pippa feels the need to remind people that she’s famous for her butt, just like Kim?

I actually glanced through the whole blog post and the whole thing is just… asinine. Pippa gets paid to write what amounts to journal entries. “I went truffle hunting” and “I like wine” and “Here’s what I think of Kim Kardashian’s butt.” I’m sure she got paid major money to write it. Dear print media: this is why your industry is dying.

I think Pippa had a falling out with Kate. They are never together. Just sense something is wrong there.

    • Loopy says:

Maybe the Queen had something to do with it.

    • FLORC says:

There’s no falling out. Pippa just keeps a lower profile. Kate is still very close to her entire family and spends loads of time with them. It’s just not documented as heavily.

  2. Kiki04 says:

Pippa Middleton is probably the person whose opinion I could care the least about, I can’t believe anyone would seriously pay her to be a reporter/blogger/etc……..

    • FLORC says:

It’s not her opinion or skill as a writer. In fact it seems to be the direct opposite.
Pippa’s writing has been seen as an unintentional joke. Her skill is lacking and it’s good for a laugh, but not to be taken seriously.
She’s paid for her name and people will read her articles like they watch train wrecks. You can’t stop watching to see how bad things will get.

    • JudyK says:

Who cares a twit about bland Pippa Middleton. She’s not remotely attractive in any manner to me–either in fashion and/or journalism.

      • helen says:

She’s writing about fitness and she did (team relay) RAAM. It’s a race that could be compared to the TdF of ultracycling, except for the fact that they allow women compete along with men. I appreciate how active she is and find it to be refreshing when she gets attention for that.

  3. teatimeiscoming says:

    “…whole thing is just….asinine.”

I see what you did there. 🙂

  4. Louise says:

This is ridiculous. All of these people are just gross.

  5. CandyKay says:

The Spectator is a pretty snobby, pseudo-intellectual political magazine. Don’t you think a lot of the readers are laughing at her? She’s writing a comedy column without knowing it. If, of course, she’s writing it herself.

  6. Loopy says:

Anyways Pippa does not have a ‘butt’ unless hers was applauded for being the opposite and more toned version of the likes of Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj. The British media just wanted a sensational story to give her some publicity,i never bought the butt stories.

  7. Amy says:

So that’s what passes for a butt in her community, hmm…

Thank goodness for the public’s obsession with the Royal Family because I can’t imagine anywhere else ANYONE would have commented on Pippa’s rear WITH padding.

  8. MelissaManifesto says:

    Heh

  9. Kelly says:

Pretty sure this comes under what Michael K. calls, “The jokes write themselves.”

  10. Chrissy says:

Poor posture sure runs in this family. I can’t believe someone is paying
person for her profound insight into the state of the world today. SMH This whole family seem to be nothing but attention seekers.

  11. Anna says:

OMG a royal sister in law is publicly discussing a$$es AND being judgy of someone else’s public behavior in the same paragraph? I can’t, with the hypocrisy.

  12. MinnFinn says:

If I was a Spectator subscriber (for “just £73 per year”), Pippa’s piece would cause me to seek a refund. I read the entire inane article. What a simpleton’s snooze fest. The only interesting bit is that she has an office near a nice wine tasting bar. Interesting only because I didn’t know Pippa had a job. Or maybe she rents an office to write her 6 articles per year?

    • Hazel says:

Yeah, she’s alluded to her ‘office’ before & I think she does, indeed, rent a space for herself, rather than having one at Waitrose or the Spectator or Vanity Fair, or wherever.

  13. FLORC says:

This is something. Pippa owes so much to that padded behind. Then tries to create distance to be taken more seriously as a writer. Then has to go back to reminding people about her bottom by name dropping Kim?

Oh Pippa. How quickly you’ve fallen. That you need to hitch your wagon to Kim’s bottom.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Right? NOBODY still cares about her bottom. The interested parties were over it in two weeks, but she brings it up in every article she writes. Just move on, Pippa. Everyone else has.

    • Olenna says:

Agree. And, on top of name-dropping, she’s being judgey as if she’s gone about getting her notoriety the right way rather than being the parasitical fame grabber the media has thrown at us for the past 3-4 years.

  14. danielle says:

Is someone royalty adjacent supposed to admit they know what a kardashian is?

    • FLORC says:

They’re kind of the brit version of a Kardashian, but with far better PR. Too many comparisons to be ignored.

  15. Jayna says:

No, Pippa, this year that would be J-Lo’s God-given rear and who works hard to keep in shape, not Kim’s fake, dumpy one only seen through a filtered lens, great lighting, and lots of airbrushing. .

  16. Dany says:

i think Pippa is the more intelligent and likeable sister. She always wanted to do something, she definitely is the worker (LOL) of the Middleton siblings. But damn i don´t understand her career choices. That silly book and all the other writing stuff… after the wedding she could have used her “butt fame” for something productive with future and not for this half-thought stuff she does. People already laugh about her.
Maybe Pippa and James kill time with their “little projects” until they can take over the family business? If Party Pieces survives the next years. I have no idea how they make enough profit.

    • FLORC says:

Uncle Gary has been long speculated to keep that business afloat. His money though is not clean. PP is a company that against all odds survived by selling trinkets that had to be shipped to people instead of them going to a local story and picked the trinkets up for a fraction of the cost plus no shipping charges. Some suspect Tanna has loads of dirt on the Midds to get such exclusives and inside info on PP finances might be a part of that dirt.

And a lot of us rooted for Pippa. She had drive! She was working! Then she laughs with the france, gun, car incident, uses royal lawyers to go after the Pippa tips folks, and fails to improve her writing skills, but rather skims by.

I bet James truly wants to have a successful business. He just invests in with the wrong branding or people.
Those marshmellows amaze me they’re profitable since anyone can make them at home for much less. And without Instagram approval of photos.

    • Megan says:

Mail order businesses are extremely lucrative. It sounds like they drop ship, meaning they purchase inventory from suppliers as customers purchase it from them, so they purchase very little inventory in advance. Since the majority of their customers now order online they probably have less than 10 staff. I would guess all of their merchandise comes from China, which means they have a huge mark up. I don’t think they need Uncle Gary to keep their business a float. A little marketing acumen and a great rep in China to neogiate with suppliers is all they need.

      • FLORC says:

        Megan
Early when Kate was said to have taken a job as a photographer for Party Pieces was looked at a bit closer. They have a good size staff with some family. Pippa was said to write a biweekly or weekly newsletter. Kate snapped a few staged displays for the website.

And they would order in bulk. Simple things that would sell. Later on some special items geared towards holiday, wedding, and later baptism marketing.
For a time it was heavily rumored most of the inventory could have come from a sweat shop. Things were very shady and no matter who was trying to see how the numbers could add up they never did. Books will forever be closed.

It’s all out there, but to extremes. Search something like how profitable is Party Pieces.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/royal-wedding/8147929/Royal-Wedding-Middletons-money-how-was-it-made.html
The sweat shop article is a CB one from 2010 I think.

      • Megan says:

The books on my biz are forever closed, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t legit. Assuming everything made in China is made in a sweatshop suggests you have never been to a factory in China.

      • FLORC says:

        Megan
Things can be produced outside of China. There are factories that use child labor and or poor work conditions to reduce cost. You said China. I didn’t.

Closed books aside the Midds have shady finances. There was a peek behin the curtain when they applied for a loan in a swiss(?) bank. They were double mortgaged to say the least.Even with the sale of their previous home, income from PP, and without paying off their home debt only they still couldn’t pay cash for the new estate, yet they managed to. Nothing adds up in their finances and that was just a peek.
This is where Uncle Gary coes in so often. He’s rolling in it although his money is not clean. Many times he’s the financer for the vacations before William started stepping in more.

  17. Bros says:

So clever. So not obvious. Good job Pippa, I can tell you really put some thought into this one.

  18. Juliette says:

    How condescending: “American Booty Culture”

And yet, Pippa drags her bum over here to shill her terrible books and attempt a television career. Pippa is the only one continuing to reference her own bottom in multiple magazine columns and public speeches- – a thinly veiled, pitiful attempt to garner some attention for her unprofitable enterprises.

Pips, we can smell your sad desperation all the way across the pond. We won’t condescend to purchase your crap. What’s with the Middleton Booty Culture? Can’t you think of any other way to make people pay attention to you?

  19. Dawn says:

Am I the only person who doesn’t think Kim’s genetics has one thing to do with her completely gross and fake behind? Her butt was as small as any other white girl and she made the decision to blow it up like she made the decision to have a nose job, cheek implants, chin shaving and a boob job. And I won’t even mention the ongoing lip fillers. Kim has turned herself into a joke and I doubt genetics had anything to do with it.

  20. HoustonGrl says:

Given her affiliation to royalty (and being propelled into the upper eschelans of British society after the wedding) I’m surprised that Pippa would be willing (or even permitted) to stoop so low. It’s not like she needs the money.

  21. Hazel says:

I’ve just read the full article, if you want to call it that. It’s really just a short collection of musings. What I find interesting is that the writing style bears little resemblance to that of Pippa’s ‘articles’ in Vanity Fair. The VF articles are very, well, very VF, while this is so different. I’m not a regular reader of The Spectator, so I don’t know how their articles usually read. My guess is, at either or both magazines her articles are heavily edited. I mean, heavily, as in—re-written.
