Salma Hayek says daughter Valentina is ‘a little dictator’

Salma Hayek will appear on the cover of April’s In Style Magazine, and she reveals some interesting details about her future career plans and her daughter in the cover story. First, she discusses her plans to develop a range of age-defying cosmetics, based on the home-made “potions” made by her grandmother.

Hayek claims that her grandmother, Maria Luisa, made her own lotions and cosmetics using “secret ingredients” only found in Latin America. I don’t really know what to say about all of that, but I do hope that if this cosmetics line takes off, Hayek makes it a priority to extend the foundation colors to dark-skinned women. If you have a skin tone any darker than pale beige, it’s really difficult to find a foundation that works. Contact Music has more about Salma’s plans:

Hollywood actress Salma Hayek is sharing the secrets behind her stunning looks – she’s developing a range of anti-ageing cosmetics.

The currently-unnamed line is inspired by Hayek’s maternal grandmother, former cosmetologist Maria Luisa, whose home-made potions kept her skin glowing well into her 90s.

The 42-year-old Mexican is planning to recreate the concoctions, which will be named in her grandmother’s honour.

Hayek tells InStyle magazine, “When she died at 96, of course her skin had sagged, but she didn’t have any wrinkles. She made her own creams using secret ingredients you can only find in Latin America.”

If the cosmetics line is based on her grandmother’s work, perhaps Salma should just call the line “Maria Luisa” or “Grandma’s Cure-all Wrinkle Cream”.

Salma also talks about her daughter, 17-month old Valentina Paloma, in the interview. Salma claims that Valentina is “a little dictator”. So cute. Bossiness tends to happen when you’re an only child and you’re the center of your parents’ universe. Not sayin’ how I know that! OK! has more:

In Salma Hayek’s house, it seems 17-month old daughter Valentina Paloma is in charge!

“She’s a little dictator!” the gorgeous In Style cover model says of her daughter with husband Francois-Henri Pinault.

However the pint-sized one isn’t all bossy and dictatorial, as Salma reveals.

“She is unique, magical – definitely the most colorful person I’ve ever met,” she gushes to the mag. “I feel so connected to her, but at the same time, we are completely different. I discover something new about her every day.”

Salma is such a cute mom. You can tell that being a parent to Valentina has just made her life. So far, I haven’t seen any quotes about Salma’s new husband (and Valentina’s daddy) Francois-Henri Pinault, but it’s possible that the interview took place before their Valentine’s Day wedding.

Here’s Salma Hayek and husband Francois-Henri Pinault taking daughter Valentina to the Chris McMillan salon on Friday. Images thanks to BauerGriffinOnline.

Valentina is getting cuter every day. She is like Zuma Rosdale, at first I never thought them cute but now am changing my mind.

I wish I was married to a billionaire- sigh*

She’s a cutie. And look how real they are. No fighting with paps, shielding faces and getting angry, and no entourage!Very refreshing!

    Is that grandaddy? o.O

  6. sissoucat says:

Little dictators push the limits to see if there are any. It’s the parents’ job to see that they find those limits firmly in place in their loving environment.

If they don’t find them, you get your average celebutard…

Letting your child do whatever he/she wants because it’s so cute, that’s not good parenting.

  7. morgs says:

kids become little dictators because mommy and daddy aren’t saying no.

Little dictators aren’t cute in any shape or form.

  8. Maritza says:

Valentina is cute but she resembles her father more than her mother.
