Giuliana Rancic addresses criticism that she’s too thin, debuts new brown hair

The 2015 ASTRA Awards
These are photos of Giuliana Rancic in Sydney yesterday at the ASTRA Awards, which honor Australian television. Giuliana is wearing a full length sequin and lace gown by Australian designer Alex Perry. It’s got a white bodice peeking through the top and an empire waist that hides her tiny figure in layers of fabric. At the ASTRA Awards, someone at The Daily Mail’s Australian division asked Giuliana about all the stories that she’s too thin. Giuliana gave a kind of diplomatic non-response. She said: “I think the best thing to do, honestly, is not even talk about it. You know? As long as you know the truth, that’s all that matters.

The Mail points out that Giuliana spoke at length about this issue in 2013 to The Huffington Post. She said she had a fast metabolism and that she eat and exercises a lot. “I know the truth. I know that I eat a lot and I take walks and I have a faster metabolism. I always thought it would catch up to me and it hasn’t quite yet. I’m not trying to be cocky. Anyone who knows me knows I am the least arrogant person. I’m just trying to be honest.” This time, Giuliana figured she may as well not defend herself again, but she’s still using the same “I know the truth” line. That was probably the best way to handle it, because she’ll just keep the story going otherwise.

Speaking of keeping the story going, now that the dust has cleared and new host Kathy Griffin has quit Fashion Police, just like Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana and Brad Goreski are the only two panel members left standing. As Bedhead reported earlier, Fashion Police’s next episode will air on March 30. It’s thought that they’ll add some Kardashians to the panel, which would be a bad idea for so many fug, pinocchio butt, stunt queen reasons.

Also, Giuliana dyed her hair brown and got bangs. This not a great look for her. The darker hair seems to suit her better overall, but I’m not fond of that cut. I blame Dakota Johnson.

Here’s what Giuliana looked like before.

  1. doofus says:

the top pic looks like a wig/wiglet. not a good look for her.

    • Esmom says:

Agreed. It looks better/more natural in the Instagram shot, though.

      • doofus says:

it does, and I think there’s no wiglet there. I think she used some extra “help” for the RC because her hair is so thin.

    • JohnWayneLives says:

You know what would be a good look for her? 10 more pounds

    • Nikki L. says:

You know what? You’re right, but it’s all the pictures, except for the Instagram pic. I didn’t even see it until now, good catch. That’s kinda sad, if you look at the Instagram pic, it does look really thin and wispy. I wonder if she’s had regrowth issues post-cancer. Sometimes it comes back wispy and baby fine.

      • Veronica says:

People with anorexia have thin hair 😕

      • Here2Opine says:

She didn’t have chemo so it’s more likely her anorexia is causing the damage to her hair. Also, doesn’t she have that big eyed, bobbly head that Karen Carpenter had?

  2. Is it just me, or is she sort of slowly metamorphosizing into Anna Wintour? Maybe it’s the bangs and sunglasses.

    • TrustMOnThis says:

Anna Wintour would NOT appear in public in a dress that was six inches too long, say what you will!

  3. BRE says:

Interesting when celebs think they can pretend that how they look is how they always looked or that it is completely natural. We know from her blog post a few years ago that she was obsessive with exercise and calorie restriction and pictures from a few years ago show that she used to not be bones, just thin.

    • Bridget says:

There have been a lot of mentions over the years about how she really views herself, and yet here is the “I take lots of walks” line. Is she also going to say she’s so thin from chasing after her kid?

      • Sandy says:

People who restrict their calorie intake often exercise obsessively. Over-exercise is another method to achieve the same goal, and I think it gives them cover — “It’s just the exercise!” No, it’s not.

      • FLORC says:

        Sandy
Yes! And it’s an effective way for those suffering from ed’s to dismiss concern. Because they’re eating and exercising does not mean they aren’t starving their bodies and being unhealthy. I know someone close to me who is like this and it’s beyond frustrating when trying to discuss it.

Or for things like lent they’ll give up food groups like dairy with the intent to lose weight, but the story to tell is they love dairy and are giving up something they love.

    • nina says:

that blog post comes to mind every time i read stories about her weigt. in that post, you could clearly see that she does not have healthy relationsip with food. the tips etc she offered on how to avoid calories were completely crazy! since then i dont believe her when she says she just has a fast metabolism, she definitely has an eating disorder.

      • Michelle says:

@nina same here! She is only lying to herself because people who don’t have eating disorders don’t do fasted cardio for over an hour every morning and drink kombucha all day long to stave off hunger, nor do they go to restaurants and lie about having a food allergy to avoid all fats because they don’t consume any in their diet. She can keep lying all she wants, everybody knows she is sick. What is really scary to me is that she thought she was giving good advice in that blog post.

      • nina says:

        exactly my thoughts…

    • Samtha says:

That was my thought as well. We can look at pictures from her a few years ago and see that she wasn’t thin like this.

    • Sarah says:

Exactly. Typically, one’s metabolism doesn’t speed up with age.

    • Shannon says:

Celebs may lie, many of them do. But the ‘skinny is great’ thing hurts everyone in some way. I’ve always had a fast metabolism and a small stomach – I honestly can only eat so much until I get sick. I’ve also lost more weight due to health reasons; thanks to the fact that I’m not a celebrity, I don’t have pressure to disclose. But it’s frustrating to be told, “You’re too skinny” when you’re trying to gain weight, but you can’t. I kind of wish people would just lay off other people’s size; they have a mirror. If they’re a celeb, you know they have doctors, so it’s just not our business. I get people thinking I look so healthy just because I’m thin, I get people thinking I’m not healthy because I’m thin. It’s like, ya can’t win; back when I didn’t lose baby weight fast enough, I had people telling me I was too big and might get diabetes (I didn’t). Just stfu and leave it between the person and their doctor(s) IMO.

      • Isa says:

I think about that blog post too. Since she has gotten criticism she has completely changed her story. She talks a lot about her food she eats now, except she is skinnier than ever. I wonder about her husband…surely he would know something is up. I wonder if he is trying to get her the help she needs.

      • GByeGirl says:

The issue with her is that she shows other signs of having an ED, did a blog post with hints on how to have an ED, and is in the public eye. This isn’t just an issue between her and her doctors as many of us saw, she will ignore her doctor’s advice.

Now, I would never discuss someone’s weight with them, just going on appearances alone. I think that advising someone to eat a sandwich is just as rude as calling someone fat. If I’m very close to someone and they display other signs of an ED–behavior wise–then I’m going to say something.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

She couldn’t even bring herself to gain 10 pounds to enable her to conceive a child naturally, which is something she claimed she wanted very badly. If that isn’t an eating disorder, I don’t know what is.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

That’s what I was going to say. As much as she wanted a child, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. I think she gained five, and just said “I can’t.” There’s something wrong there, when you can’t allow yourself 10 pounds to get the thing you want most.

      • vava says:

Not only that, but I find it difficult to believe she’d tolerate the physical changes that happen with pregnancy…..

      • CL says:

I remember that every time she talks about how naturally thin she is. I only saw a few episodes of her reality show, but that was one of them. I felt so bad for her, feeling even five more pounds was too much and she wouldn’t go there.

  4. Belle says:

What if she DOES know the truth about herself?

    • Wren says:

She does. And she’s really not obligated to tell us what it is, whatever it is. I

What I don’t get is the obsession with size, either way. “She’s too thin, she needs help!” What if she doesn’t want help? What if she’s doing things privately and not telling the world about it?

You can’t force people to change, so all the “concern” over size, weight and health is pointless and mostly self-indulgent. How many people really, truly care about her as a person and speak from a place of genuine concern for her well being? Far fewer than those who feel they need to weigh in (gah!) on the situation.

      • Belle says:

I agree with your statement completely. Just because people are on TV, does not mean they have to open up about their every move, every life event. She is living HER life hopefully the way SHE wants.

      • Decorative Item says:

I agree that some people don’t really care about her weight and are just using the situation to criticize her. But, the problem is that she is famous and offers extreme dieting tips that influence young people. I do care about young people because I have a few myself.

      • Bridget says:

Because she could very well die if she continues like this. The strain this is putting on her heart is considerable. And this woman is on a network and shows that are aimed squarely at young women – is this the message that we want to put out, that this level of thinness is natural and normal? She knows she’s a public figure and a role model.

      • Lucinda says:

She isn’t obligated but people have a right to discuss healthy weight vs. eating disorders. It sounds like there is a lot of evidence pointing to eating disorder and if that is the case, it is important to discuss it. We already have such a skewed perception of what is a healthy weight that when someone swings even more dangerously out of normal, then discussion is merited so hopefully we don’t skew that perception of healthy skinny even more. On this board, there seems to be an awareness that the society standard of thin is really too thin for most people but on other boards that really isn’t the case.

  5. Tifygodess24 says:

So her metabolism just happened to speed up as she got older? Hmmm. 😒 She was never this thin and she has admitted in the past about having skewed up views about weight. I don’t believe in fat OR skinny shaming but she’s getting to the point where this is more than just thin.

    • Kitten says:

Yeah this completely, Tify. She was always very small-boned but she wasn’t always this skinny.

It gets on my nerves when people try to make it seem like this is all about vanity though. I wish people could refrain from making the snarky comments and consider the idea that she might actually have a disease.

      • BRE says:

Agreed. with all this stuff going on with Fashion Police I wouldn’t be surprised if it took a toll on her weight even more. I hate the “eat a burger” responses, it’s more than about food

      • lucy2 says:

Given the industry she works in, vanity/trying to fit in might have been the start of it, but I agree it’s beyond that now. I don’t want to shame her, but I do want her to get some help so she’s healthy and there for her kid as he grows up.

      • Tifygodess24 says:

        @lucy true.

I have always wondered with the industry she’s in when do the producers or managers step in and say we suspect something is going on and we won’t be able up continue on until you get help or the situation changes? They have no problem telling actresses to lose weight or telling them they won’t be able to continue on if they gain weight so really how is this any different? She is clearly underweight and something is going on. She’s deteriorating in front of our eyes! I get it’s a fine line but this is to the point where even the public is crying out about it , the subject isn’t going away and it’s noticable. This can’t look good for E! Especially if something bad happens with her.

      • The Other Katherine says:

Every time I see pictures of this woman, I worry that in 2 years, or 5 years, she will be dead from complications of anorexia. She is clearly unwell. 🙁

      • **sighs** says:

She used to be slender. She is skin and bones now. And when you consider that the camera adds ten lbs…I don’t want to know what she looks like in real life. She desperately needs medical help. I do hope she gets it, because she’s seemingly going down the Karen Carpenter road.

      • littlestar says:

I 100% believe she has a disease/disordered thinking. Just the fact that she refused to gain weight per her doctor’s advice when she was trying to get pregnant… Not healthy.

Also adding: I wonder if her husband or family has tried to help her get help in the past? Or do they think this is “normal” at this point too?

      • FLORC says:

        Kitten/Littlestar
        Good and fair points.
She certanly doesn’t appear healthy. Her down and skin appear unhealthy. And here and there on Fashion Police she would get up from her chair and would stop like she was light headed with that thousand yard stare from your sight going dark like you’re in a tunnel.

I hope her family doesn’t agree this is normal.

      • Belle Epoch says:

FLORC I was going to comment on her TV presence also, aside from her distressing appearance. I happened to catch a few minutes of Fashion Police (not a show I watch) and in between remarks she was just sitting there with no affect, staring into space. I had a friend with anorexia who became very vacant like that – nobody home. The brain requires a LOT of glucose to function, plus it can’t store any of its own (the way skeletal muscles do). It needs a constant supply of energy. I think heart muscle might be the same way (any doctors out there? Why do anorectics get heart attacks?).

      • littlestar says:

Florc and Belle Epoch – I don’t know a ton about eating disorders, but you both make a very interesting point – her vacant stares and is what is probably her brain lacking proper nourishment. I have an aunt in her late 60s who I believe (and many others in my family believe this as well) has anorexia. I am 30 and I have never known her to be anything but ultra thin (watching her eat is crazy, the tricks she uses to make it seem like she is eating normally – like cutting up her food into SMALL pieces and eating verrrrry slowly, then hiding her plate under another person’s plate when it’s time to clean up, etc). She does that vacant look thing all the time, and sometimes it’s like you’re talking to an empty shell. My mom once told me she thinks it’s because my aunt’s brain no longer works properly due to starvation. It makes sense. It’s very sad.

      • The Other Katherine says:

Belle Epoch, my understanding is that electrolyte imbalance is the most common mechanism for heart failure among anorexics. It’s more likely if the anorexia is compounded with purging, laxative abuse, and/or obsessive exercise.

      • lemon says:

Anorexia is a mental health disorder but it manifests in behavior, and there is a social element. But yeah, it is unfair to criticize someone who is obviously struggling. Health is private and it’s the job of her loved ones to bring it up and intervene, not the public, even if she us famous.

      • FLORC says:

        Belle
Short answer – Heart failure is possible from anorexia. Your body loses muscle and the heart’s muscle tissue is no exception. To say Heart attack would be getting technical and different. I can get long winded so i’ll keep it at that.

And her stares reminded me of my own struggles or how I was told I looked. Your brain is starving and perception gets distorted as a result. That stare is you trying to regain control over your own normal body functions.

        Lemon
Sometimes it takes something from outside your circle to have the greatest impact. And sometimes your loved ones won’t intervene out of fear of hurting you or making it worse. They just let it continue. And sometimes the just don’t act at all. And this isn’t really criticism. It’s bringing an issue out on open forums.
We aren’t contacting her and criticizing.

        Littlestar
The talking about the lovve of food and cutting into small amounts is an old trick that isn’t fooling anyone. When you add it up they might not have eaten much at all during the day.
The vacant stare is sadly an issue. It’s possibly to be a few things, but when weight loss is a factor it is pretty much the brain starving. Low blood flow.
It’s very sad and very scary. Sorry for your family.

  6. Katie says:

You’d think in all the times she’s had to combat criticism about her own appearance that at so,e point she would realize her comments about others’ bodies isn’t very kind.

  7. Jaded says:

A classic behaviour of someone with an eating disorder is to laugh, deny, blame it on “fast metabolism”, say they eat a lot, anything to cover up dealing with the sad truth. She has an eating disorder plain and simple, and the sooner SHE deals with it as well as her producers, the better. She needs therapy. For a long time, perhaps the rest of her life.

    • BengalCat2000 says:

For those of us who have had an intimate relationship with ED’s, it’s painfully obvious that she’s sick… very hard to watch.

      • Kitten says:

        Yup. I guess that’s why I feel for her. I get it….

        “I’m just stressed out.”
“I haven’t had time to eat, I’m just so busy.”
“I haven’t been able to get to the grocery store this week.”
“I’ve just been running more than usual.”
“I had a bad virus and couldn’t eat for a while.”

…those were some of my excuses.

      • Beckysuz says:

Yes…I know this struggle all too well. I know all the excuses. It just makes me sad for her

      • Kiddo says:

I feel bad for her affliction, but I can also separate out her personality, which I can not stand. Also she has no skills.

      • Dr.Funkenstein says:

So true. My sister died from it, and watching someone slowly waste away while you stand by helplessly is horrible. I have no patience for anybody who makes excuses for people with this disorder. Even if they seek help, it’s an uphill struggle with no guarantee of success — but you still have to keep calling them out. I know it never helps me to think about it, but at least I know I did everything I could to encourage my sister to get help and to support her when she did.

      • TX says:

Even for us without EDs it’s hard. I had to turn off E!s coverage of th Oscar carpet because I literally could not look at her. It blows my mind that E! Continues to allow her in front of a camera when it is so painfully obvious she is sick.

      • FLORC says:

A low point. I was admitted after not eating for a while. I was caught purging nothing, but still doing it. I knew it was bad and hurting me, my family. It wasn’t something I could control. My excuses were at times a way to ease my family’s pain. Like I was telling them it wasn’t as bad as they think. It’s just a misunderstanding. Not always coming up with excuses to knowingly conceal.

Maybe Rancic is just no longer in control. And her family is believing this because the alternative is too painful.

    • HH says:

I always want to know what her husband thinks and how he’s coping. It can’t be easy watching your wife destroy herself. I recall hearing a story from her reality show that she didn’t want to gain weight in order to get pregnant. That blew my mind. I’m not sure why that wasn’t a sign for her family and friends.

      • OutoftheLoop says:

Since she’s been with her husband she seems to have gotten thinner. I wonder if she has some insecurity about him or the relationship. That’s not to say he is intentionally making her insecure or that he is not being a good partner. The mix of their personalities might be such that she ends up feeling less confident, not good enough, etc. For instance, he may not be very nurturing, but she might need that. I have observed this before in myself, my sister and even a few friends.

      • Isabelle says:

She mentioned it somewhere on their reality show. She waved off & dismissed the docs telling her to gain some weight.

  8. Anoneemouse says:

She;’s been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately and this is not the first color change to her hair. I would bet $100 that she is wearing a wig. This poor girl is in severe denial about how she looks and her body is suffering because of it.

    • Dr.Funkenstein says:

Hair loss is very common with anorexics and bulemics owing to nutrition deficiencies.

  9. Tracy says:

With her large forehead, the haircut is fine, but she should stop curling it. Doing so just makes her hair look like she slept on it badly. Just blow it straight like the photo of her in her car….including the bangs.

    • jujubee says:

Maybe it’s just me, but her forehead seems really tiny. From the top of her head to her eyebrows seems unusually short. Just seems she would look a lot prettier with more weight on her….Poor thing.

  10. Maya says:

Any form of body shaming has to stop. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors.

    • Jaded says:

This is not body shaming – it is concern. She has a sickness, it’s called anorexia. She needs therapy and her husband, parents, friends and producers need to help her. Her thinness is not natural, it comes from starving herself. I lost a sister to anorexia and I know it when I see it. I know her denials and comments about eating a lot are just a cover-up. I know if she eats, she’s in the bathroom purging her food back up. I know how defensive sufferers become. I know everyone looks away from the elephant in the room, but it’s still there and if she wants to live a long, healthy life for her children she’d better do something about it.

      • Tifygodess24 says:

        Jaded , I agree completely.

      • **sighs** says:

This. No one is shaming her, they are concerned for her medical and mental health.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Jaded, I’m so sorry about your sister.

      • BRE says:

Agreed. I suffered myself and there was a point where people (friends, family and strangers) were straight out saying stuff to my face that I need to stop losing weight, that I looked sick, that I needed help. At the time it upset me because I was an adult (later 20s not 15) and I wanted to say to those that were overweight “Stop stuffing yourself” but you know, most of those people openly admitted they were overweight and struggling. I needed that feedback has hard has it was to finally come to terms with admitting I had a problem and needed help. Now with teenagers with EDs, I’m not sure if the same approach is smart.

    • littlestar says:

No one is shaming her here. Having actual concern for someone’s obvious mental health problem is not shaming. Calling concern “shaming” is also part of the problem – it’s obvious that even Rancic herself thinks everyone’s concern is body shaming, when it isn’t in the least.

  11. shannon says:

I’m going to get blasted, but whatever. She looks absolutely horrible. Her eyes are sunken into her head, her hair is worryingly thin and her bones are poking out all over the place. I really hope that someone in her family gets her some help soon, for her child’s sake.

    • Ellie66 says:

I agree she is a bag of bones way to thin does she think she looks good? She looks unhealthy and I bet she is tired all the time.

    • maeliz says:

A few years ago, I had to take a medicine that dropped me from my 102 down to 80 pounds. I looked like bones at 5″5 and 30 years old. Was and still am told to put meat on bones to stay warm, and asked if I ever eat. Saying someone looks horrible, like a bag of bones is cruel

      • Isa says:

She probably does not think she looks good. That’s part of the problem. Anorexics often do not see what we see when they look in the mirror. It’s why they often continue to lose weight and get too skinny.

  12. Elisabeth says:

I think people mistake ‘fat shaming or skinny shaming’ for people who are just concerned about the health of the person.

    • Esmom says:

I know. When someone seems unwell, often appearance is the only thing you have to go on. I don’t see it as shaming either.

A guy I work with had been looking extremely unhealthy to me, so much so that I even said a couple things to my husband. Appearance was all I had to go on — some would call it shaming, I guess, because he was overweight. He dropped dead suddenly of cardiac arrest a few weeks after I said to my husband that I thought something might be wrong.

    • Kitten says:

I think sometimes that happens, but if you read Shannon’s comment above yours, she’s talking about Rancic’s appearance but she’s pointing out that she does not look healthy, which…I mean, she just doesn’t.
I think if Shannon said “she looks skeletal and disgusting and needs to eat a damn burger” that would be thin-shaming. I think it’s all about the context.

Part of me really hates that we’re here commenting on this woman’s body but I feel so sad inside when I see pictures of her.

The pictures of her, coupled with all her past comments…it’s hard for me to believe that she doesn’t have an eating disorder and that this is just “fast metabolism”.

    • MarcelMarcel says:

This is only tagentially related but I gained weight because of medication and I’ve been told to lose weight. It’s under the guise of caring about my health however it just makes me uncomfortable. Especially my weight gain isn’t something I can control.
With Guiliania I defer to the posters who think she has a ED since they have had personal experience with EDs. I don’t know if telling her that she’s too skinny will help though? I think I prefer it when comments are about a persons emotion state- how do you feel, let me know if I can help etc… rather than being about personal appearance.

      • Kitten says:

Yeah you make a great point, Marcel. Nothing good comes from commenting on an ED-sufferer’s body. Yet here I am, hypocritically doing so. It’s just so hard not to be concerned when you see yourself in that person.

When I was deep in my ED if someone told me “you are getting WAY too thin and I’m worried about you” I would flip out and tell them that there’s nothing wrong with me and to leave me alone. Yet, if someone didn’t comment about how thin I was, I would freak out and start thinking that maybe I had gained weight.

I’m sure this all sounds insane and it WAS insane. If I didn’t get that validation that I was super-thin, then I would be so hard on myself, so disappointed, and it would just add to my determination to deprive myself. But I also couldn’t stand when loved ones commented on my body because it scared me. I was scared that they would try to intervene and stop me from doing what I was doing.

      • tennishu says:

I totally agree with you. Comments like this make you uncomfortable rather than being helpful.

      • original kay says:

        Yes, Kitten, very much so.

It’s power, control. If people ask, even out of concern, it’s a panic feeling that it might all over and then have to face what’s going on, truly going on.

I struggle with bulimia, I carefully control it for the most part of my life, but in times of high stress the feelings of actually needing it come back. It’s a daily issue I face, every time I eat.

      • Kitten says:

@Original Kay-I’m so sorry for your struggles. I so get the comfort and dependency that comes with an ED. It truly does become a ritual and a security blanket at the same time.

      • original kay says:

        Thanks Kitten

        ((hugs))

        every day at a time : )

    • doofus says:

      this.

this is not “oh gross she’s so skinny” it’s “geez, is she OK?”

    • CoolWhipLite says:

Whether it’s about someone being very overweight or very underweight, it seems like no one can have concern or an opinion anymore. People’s own insecurities have been the catalyst for widespread guilt trip responses about “shaming.”

  13. Sam says:

    Fast metabolism, my foot.

I watched their show for a little bit. Her husband would actually have to encourage her to eat when the camera were rolling. And I can still remember that infamous “diet” of hers that got published a few years ago – no oil, no butter, almost no carbs ever. Yeah right, G, fast metabolism. I’m sure your metabolism is very fast when you do not give it anything to burn off. I know actual people with fast metabolisms – they eat like crazy because they need the fuel.

In a way, I feel bad for her because it’s pretty clear she must always be hungry and she must restrict what she eats. But at the same time, I hate that she’s clearly not being honest and that there are girls and women who at her and see something desirable in how she lives.

  14. Tania says:

She looks very ill. Whether it’s due to her not eating or something else, I hope she gets help for it.

  15. Amberica says:

I just feel sad looking at her. Not trying to shame anybody. There’s an infinitesimal chance that that is natural, but I find it really hard to believe. She looks tortured. Seriously, imagine she’s been missing for 3 years and we found her looking like this. We’d all assume some pretty bad sh!t went down, not that she’s got a lucky metabolism.

  16. mzizkrizten says:

She’s alway been thin, not to mention she’s a cancer survivor. Maybe she’s gone all holistic now.
Too fat, too thin, STFU and let people just be!

    • Ashley says:

She has NOT always looked like this

      • mzizkrizten says:

No but she has always been of thin build. AND she had cancer. She’s been more thin since her cancer battle. People judge too much. The end.

      • Bridget says:

The thinness predates the cancer, by a lot. In fact they only found the cancer because she was doing IVF treatments because she refused to gain the recommended weight to try to get pregnant naturally (you can easily find her own quotes on the subject – she referred to it as traumatic to try to gain weight). We’re talking about a very serious (and sad) eating disorder directly in front of us.

    • maeliz says:

Thank you. Some people seem to forget or don’t remember what cancer treatment can do. My aunt had breast cancer, lost lots of weight and never got it back.
I was told again to eat a burger. I’m 36 and have high metabolism that some don’t believe. If GR does have an eating disorder, it’s her and her families private business

      • Tifygodess24 says:

But she didn’t drop this weight during her cancer. That would be different. Just because she had cancer doesn’t mean she also doesn’t have an ED. THIS started before the cancer. Multiple people with EDs ( myself included ) will tell you people will find any excuse to justify what they are doing , even if it’s no longer relevant. Unless she still has cancer or is in treatment there is no reason for her to still be dropping weight like this. Staying the same weight sure , but she’s shrinking before our eyes years later. And no doctor – cancer or not- would be ok with her weight , calorie restriction and excessive workouts – Which again she has stated she has done. I don’t like it when people are told to be quiet because she is a cancer survivor and because of that she shouldnt get criticized or people shouldnt be concerned. That is a disservice to herself and anyone else who may have an ED who won’t get help. She’s not exempt from criticism especially when she’s In the public eye and has made money off of talking about her life , looks, weight and not to mention the others in the public eye as well.

    • Amberica says:

But she had cancer like 5 years ago. I’ve never heard of the 5-year-post remission cancer weight loss. I hope it hasn’t recurred. That’s really the only reason her previous diagnosis would be relevant.

      • maeliz says:

My aunt didn’t gain her weight back in the 13 years she lived after her cancer

      • Amberica says:

Yes but did she severely change during that 13 years? Because this looks very different than she looked even a year ago.

      • Ashley says:

You are talking about ppl not regaining weight after cancer. Fair enough. But she has been gradually losing weight since going into remission. She looks frail not someone who is healthy with a thin frame. There is a big difference between the two. I like @Amberica hope she isn’t ill again

    • Christo says:

NOPE. She has not ALWAYS been as thin as she is now.
There’s pictures of her online out of high school and while she was with Jerry O’Connell. She was larger then. And she started getting skinny YEARS BEFORE she ever had cancer so please don’t blame this on a disease. You obviously are a stan of hers, who refuses to acknowledge the simple truth that she is holding herself hostage to L.A. standards of beauty…and this has only been a phenomenon for the past 7-8 years for her.

And for all of you metabolism-types, are you saying that her metabolism just decided to kick-in roughly her 3rd year at E! ? Wow, medical science should research that one because E! could be the new diet drug.

Therefore, your statement that she has ALWAYS been this thin is simply wrong. Try again.

      • Jayna says:

Exactly. I watched her for years. You can google images Guilina de Pandi and see what she weighed, how much healthier she was.

      • Jen43 says:

Wow. I Googled her maiden name and there are photos of her with dark hair, maybe her real color, and she looks adorable. Her features have become so exaggerated. Her face is much softer with more weight.

      • The Other Katherine says:

Jeez. When you look at those old pictures, the starvation her illness is putting her through today is shockingly clear. So sad. 🙁

    • Jaded says:

@mzizkrizten – she has not always been this thin. I work with cancer patients and see what they go through with chemo and radiation. Once they’re through, unless they’ve had stomach cancer or something that affects their digestion severely, THEY GAIN THE WEIGHT BACK. She started having symptoms of anorexia before she had cancer. She has a severe eating disorder and her family and producers should get her to therapy before she develops heart problems, which is ultimately what killed my sister, who was anorexic. So believe me, I know an eating disorder when I see it and this woman needs help.

  17. lw says:

I think there is more to her (recent) weight loss than her eating disorder, which she’s had for years. She has crossed the line from looking obviously underweight to now obviously sick. She’s even exclusively wearing wigs now… I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some current or residual cancer treatment going on.

    • chaine says:

I agree, it looks like a wig, and even if she is in remission, she may still be on medication meant to suppress hormone production, etc. My observation of family members who had breast cancer is that the medications some survivors have to take afterward have really profound psychological and physical effects, and the reconstructive surgery can also be a negative has the person has to adjust to having these heavy, foreign objects embedded in their chest. And yes, the most recent family member has lost weight and looked sicker since going into remission and having reconstructive surgery than she did while she still “had cancer.”

    • Bridget says:

She was very open about her cancer treatment, why would she hide a second treatment? When she was initially diagnosed she announced it on the Today Show and it was a part of her reality show. Giuliana has never felt a need to hide anything. Side note: if she were to get sick again, would she even be able to withstand the treatment with her body in this state?

And the sad part is, the wigs could also be easily explained by her extreme dieting.

      • Isa says:

That’s what I thought too, if it was cancer again we would know about it. She was very upfront about her battle and she seemed to gain a lot of strength from the support she got during that time.

    • Twez says:

Long term eating disorders cause hair loss.

  18. dr mantis toboggan says:

Why must you turn my office into a house of lies?!

  19. QQ says:

Yeah Fast metabolisms and Walks K, sweetie Keep it up but if I were her family and coworkers Id be basing her next contract on : Can she go to a cushy ED rehab situation

On a Superficial Not the hair distracts from How Painfully thin her hair is in a way the Blonde only Magnified… that said is STILL not good

  20. Amberica says:

Also, look at the way she holds her face for pictures. Classic “avoid the double chin” pose. The fact that she thinks this is necessary tells me she’s slightly delusional.

    • lisa says:

oh is that why her posture is so terrible? i was wondering why someone who is very familiar with red carpets was slouching like that.

  21. Lenn says:

What exactly was her treatment, when she had cancer? Dis she have chemotherapy and radiation? I’m asking because Some people say the cancer may have caused this. I myself doubt this. I think it’s an eating disorder.

    • Tifygodess24 says:

I think people say that to try and take eyes off of what could be a very dangerous eating disorder. the only time you really ever hear that is when her stans are trying to make people feel bad about saying something.

  22. Tammy says:

She’s built like me that poor poor woman 🙁

  23. tmbg says:

With GR’s medical history, I really hope nothing is wrong. In the last photo, she reminds me of Karen Carpenter.

  24. Tarsha says:

She looks so much like Karen Carpenter. I’m serious, google her and you’ll see.
Edit: I only just saw your comment tmbg after I posted mine. Glad I’m not the only one who sees the resemblance.

  25. lila fowler says:

    She’s hideous.

    • Jaded says:

What a rotten thing to say. She’s not hideous, she’s sick. She has an eating disorder. Some sympathy might be in order, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

  26. roxy750 says:

Who cares? Everyone gets all “squirrley” at thin women. But if she went and gained 50-100 lbs everyone would praise her and she would become So nice and NO ONE would want to be the one to call out her weight gain. It goes both ways–but unfortunately it really doesn’t. Thin, fat–it’s nobody’s business. Also- everyone is all concerned about her health, hello people, what about Melissa McCarthy–nobody says squat about health effects of being overweight.

    • Bridget says:

So she can either be emaciated or gain 50-100 pounds? Someone can only be painfully thin or overweight?

    • Kitten says:

I’m pretty sure that people have made negative comments many times about McCarthy’s weight. In fact, Rex Reed devoted an entire movie review to discussing McCarthy’s weight, so let’s be real about things.

Hollywood is full of thin people and nobody talks about their bodies. There’s a reason why people discuss Rancic’s physique.

      • Vampi says:

        ^^
        This!

      • KellyBee says:

Hollywood is full of thin people and people on blogs talk about their bodies all the time Let’s be really Kitten.

As for Rancic she put out a lot of information which leads people to believe she has a eating disorder. Like her calorie restriction, how much she exercise, how her doctor told her to gain weight to have a baby and she didn’t what to.

      • Tifygodess24 says:

@kellyBee – ok so let’s be real , kitten Is correct there are thousands of thin women in Hollywood and unless they start looking extremly underweight no one bats an eye. We have a whole society built off of the notion of looking as thin and beautiful like as a Hollywood star. That’s reality. Real weight Criticism comes when someone is at the extremes – too thin or too heavy.

      • Mel M says:

I agree with Kitten as well. There are so many women in Hollywood that are much thinner then the average women but it’s normal out there so no one really says anything until bones start sticking out and that’s when you get the too thin talk. Angelina Jolie and Kate Bosworth come to mind. I’m a size 6 and I guarantee that at least 95% of women in Hollywood are a smaller size then me but in my everyday life I’m not bigger then 95% of the women around me.

      • KIM1 says:

I have never read a comment about Melissa’s husband needing to stage an intervention.
I have never read a comments about Melissa being a poor role model for her daughters.
I have read those comments about Victoria Beckham, Angelina, etc
Overeating is an ED as well
I know dozens of people who have died from being overweight I don’t know any personally who have starved to death.

      • msw says:

I am not weighing in on Rancic, but I just can’t ignore this. I doubt very muchyou know many people who have died of being overweight, but rather, you knew many people who died of diseases they became at risk for due to being overweight. Being overweight makes you more susceptible to certain kinds of disorders you are already have a genetic risk for–as does being too thin. This may seem like a semantic argument, but it is not. And being five pounds underweight is significantly worse for your health them being twenty pounds overweight.

    • Lisa says:

I agree it isn’t really anyone’s business, but there’s a range of healthy weights before you get to Melissa McCarthy’s size.

    • Amberica says:

Both extremes are unhealthy, but real talk: between someone obese and someone starving to death, who’ll die first?

      • Nina says:

Exactly. She’s on the threshold of collapsing. That’s why people are concerned. I don’t know what it takes to get someone with an ED to the hospital or to get help but her family/ friends and colleagues have got to do something. It’s like watching an alcoholic drink to death and doing nothing.

    • lucy2 says:

If you think a woman in the public eye would get praised for gaining 50-100 lbs, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
And I’ve never seen an article or comments about McCarthy were her weight isn’t mentioned.

    • Jaded says:

@roxy750 – It is everyone’s business because she is a celebrity on TV and influences thousands of young women who are struggling with anorexia. She glamourizes being thin and I’m sure all the pro-ana websites are full of pictures of her that these poor young women see, and they try to emulate her skin-and-bones appearance.

Anorexia is a horrible, horrible disease – I should know, my sister died of it. So the more we can draw attention to it, perhaps her husband or producer or a good friend will steer her to getting therapy because I wouldn’t be surprised if she had to be hospitalized one of these days due to malnutrition.

    • jwoolman says:

The female body is quite capable of handling a considerable amount of extra weight and Mother Nature actually makes it easy for us to store fat but harder to let loose of it. The survival of the species depends on it. Overweight does not necessarily mean sick or even unfit, it depends on a lot of things. There may be risks of problems in future, but an individual can be “fat” but healthy and active and even limber (those fat Buddha statues in the lotus position are no lie). The attitudes toward being overweight/”fat” today are not normal in our history for such reasons. Even my cat’s doctor said she much prefers to see cats go into old age with extra fat on them, as long as they are still quite active.

But Mother Nature does not like us to look like G. here. Of course it is possible to be thin and healthy, but she looks very unhealthy. Mother Nature will even shut down our menstrual cycle if we get too lean in the healthy range, as athletes have discovered. G. Is way beyond that point. I hope cancer hasn’t returned, but it is more likely that her eating disorder is flaring badly. She is indeed sick, one way or another. Anorexia is so damaging to the vital organs, she really is in danger. Melissa McCarthy is not anywhere near at the same risk.

      • Vampi says:

I agree. And I say this as a 5′ 10 130b. woman who DOES eat like crazy, doesn’t excercize at ALL, and got the “you need a sammich” line thrown at me all my life, but I don’t look like skin and bones like she does.
Something is seriously wrong with G. Cancer, anorexia, bulimia, mega stress…..something is really wrong, and if she can’t see it to get help for herself, then E! Needs to step up and take her off the air. This isn’t body shaming….people are genuinely concerned about her. A LOT of people.
If SO many people have concern, there is a reason…and E! Needs to look out not only for G…but for the young audience that watches E!, and may be looking UP to G for all the wrong reasons and aspire to that unrealistic body type. That is not skinny…that is unhealthy. Full stop.
Even if G thinks she’s fine, she’s aware of the concern and should take a hard look at the why, no matter how painful, and E! Has the power to possibly save her life.
        But they won’t, because…..money.
        /rant over (sorry)

  27. Cindy says:

I feel bad for her. I actually think she is pretty, its just that her illness (I’m assuming she has anorexia), is making her look kind of alarming. I’m sure this fashion police disaster isn’t helping.

  28. Veronica says:

Hmmm…I have some very skinny friends, but there’s a distinct difference to me in the look between a hyper slim woman and one who has pushed their body to the extreme. I tend to think she falls into the latter category. If she really is struggling with ED, I hope she’s able to acknowledge it and get help before the serious health consequences step in. Hollywood is an ugly industry.

  29. vava says:

I like her new hair color, and I think she looks better with bangs/fringe since she has a high forehead. Also glad that she is wearing clothing to cover herself up.

  30. bored_01 says:

I think her hair is falling out and she is trying to cover it up. Her hairline looks thin in the before pics. My hair got like this after I had my son and never really recovered. I like her new look a lot better.

  31. madpoe says:

As if coloring one’s hair adds on extra weight?
The weight from the bangs could tip her over.

  32. Lisa says:

Healthy people don’t develop lanugo. She doesn’t have to admit to anything, and I think it’s shitty of magazines to try to drag some eating disorder confession out of her for headlines, but I think it’s pretty clear that whatever is going on is not your garden variety thinness.

  33. holly hobby says:

The sleeveless dress pic where she has her hand on her hip, you can see the bones underneath her armpit and side. This is really sad. No she was not always this thin. Your metabolism slows down as you get older not the opposite. I walk every day and yet I do not lose weight like that.

  34. wow says:

She looks so sickly …like cancer sickly. I’m amazed she can stand up, let alone hold a microphone because she is so frail and gaunt looking.

  35. minx says:

    I’m sorry, she looks horrible.

  36. Ashley says:

I mean, she did HAVE cancer, it’s possible she’s not well … but some people get very skinny when they’re stressed. This has been a stressful time for her. I know the weight issue seemed to come up far before the fashion police incident, but who knows what’s been going on. Also, I’m STOKED kathy quit FP because she was AWFUL! I would honestly rather see some kardashians on it because at least they’re nice, khloe is pretty funny, and it wouldn’t be as mean spirited (also, KG was just super not knowledgeable about fashion and it was a joke)

  37. Mindy says:

I don’t who she is (I don’t watch any reality programming and I have blocked E! from my tv) – all I know is that the top pic in this made me shiver. She’s got the same scary gaunt look that Karen Carpenter had in her last years.

    .. just saying.

    • vava says:

You should have seen her in the strapless gown at the Golden Globes. Wow, that got my attention and yes, she does appear to have an ED. She needs help immediately, if not sooner!

  38. pnichols says:

I love her hair! she looks adorable. love the color. 🙂

  39. word says:

I like the new hair. She may have a fast metabolism, but it usually slows with age. The problem is there are pics of her from when she was in her early 20’s where she was probably 20 pounds heavier than she is now. She has been rail thin for many years (even before she got sick). When you are that thin, you should probably limit the crazy exercise. She wasn’t even willing to gain weight to help her get pregnant (they discussed this on her reality show). She said she didn’t want to gain weight because she wanted to fit into the sample sizes they give her to wear on her show. Which doesn’t make sense because 1. ) She is wayyy thinner than a sample size, and 2.) There are women on that show who are heavier than her and have no problem wearing stylish clothes.

  40. anne_000 says:

I don’t think that people who look like skeletons should be put in any position to be fashion idols or judges. Young people might get the wrong idea of what should be sought after as the norm.

She says this weight is normal for her, yet old photos show that she had more weight and meat on her. Imo, this current extreme skinniness of hers is from intent rather than by nature.

  41. TrixC says:

She is worryingly thin, but shouldn’t have to answer questions about it publicly, the person who asked her was being really rude. It could be an eating disorder, stress, illness, either way it’s no one’s business.

    • Sunny says:

Why shouldn’t she be asked that and expected to answer? GR herself works for a tabloid network and criticizes the appearance of others, and asks others very personal questions all the time as well as speculation on the personal lives of celebs. It’s not rude when one time someone does the same thing she does to others every day in order to make a living.

  42. Shannon says:

Okay, first of all, ‘fast metabolism’ *is* a thing; it’s genetic, and all of my family are shorties and skinnies. But considering the fact that she may also have an eating disorder OR another health issue (as do I) causing her to lose weight – dammit! Understand that it’s not fun. It’s not fun to have to worry about your health while at the same time fending people commenting on your body. If she does have an issue, be it ED or otherwise, I hope she gets the care she needs. If she doesn’t, I hope she gets (or is at) the point where she doesn’t give a crap what other people say.

  43. Mrs.Krabapple says:

The hairline doesn’t lie. Malnutrition (from starving/purging) causes hair loss. If she truly ate healthily, her hair wouldn’t look like that, even with a high metabolism. And that’s just the cosmetic side — imagine what it’s doing internally to her bones and organs. I can’t believe people who claim to love her don’t get her help. It is an illness just like cancer or diabetes. Would you ignore a loved one’s cancer? Then why ignore an eating disorder that has visible signs of physical damage to the body? I guess the difference is, Hollywood rewards eating disorders, so why would people who depend on her for income interfere? It’s just really sad.

    • vava says:

Seems like a very tragic situation, as Jaded described about her sister. The family can’t really do an intervention, the employer can’t put her on a leave of absence unless she, herself, wants to get well. I’m sorry to say this, but I have a feeling this won’t end well for GR. She’s in denial, her family is in denial, and her employer is stuck between a rock and a hard place. It’s makes things even worse that she is on TV where appearance is everything. And the current attitude in the industry is that thin = beautiful.

  44. Dońt kill me i'm french says:

    Karen Carpentier sadly

  45. Iheartgossip says:

She is wearing wigs because her own hair is falling out. The pics from the last red carpet, her hairline was about 3 inches back from normal. And on the ‘parted’ side, she was showing bald spots. This poor girl needs to be put in a hospital and get her health back. Really sad.

  46. Amberica says:

E! Could fire her. I’m sorry, I know it would be harsh, but any other job would fire a person who had an addiction they refused to seek treatment for. I know they won’t because, hey, they’re the network that made the Kardashians a thing, so they have no humanity, but honestly, she obviously needs help. Just because she isn’t screaming Tiger blood and #winning doesn’t mean she’s not sick.

  47. Ellen says:

As others have said, she looks frighteningly like Karen Carpenter in her last days. And she works in an industry/at a job that critiques other people’s appearance, which makes her own apparent illness and probably body dysmorphia doubly relevant. It’s difficult to imagine that Rancic is still alive and healthy in five years unless she gets treatment, and yet there she is, being paid to comment on other women’s bodies and clothes. Really, it is extremely distressing and sad.

    • LaurieH says:

Always when I think of anorexia, I think of Karen Carpenter. And then I think how much I loved Karen Carpenter. And then I put my Pandora on to listen to Karen Carpenter. Sad. Sad. Sad.

  48. Tara says:

She does look like she is anorexic because she’s trying too hard to fit into those size zero dresses. The spotlight is more on her now. She doesn’t look good. Her head looks way too big for her body. She has that eating disorder look. If she does, I hope she gets help. I say this as someone who can’t even stand her.

  49. secret says:

I had never seen her “before” photos, so when I googled her maiden name, I was shocked to see such a normal looking woman. She looked healthy and pretty. I was quite shocked to see the difference as of late.

I am with the minority of people that think E! should step in. I mean, she is a public figure and people are talking about her. So is that a good thing for the network (ratings) or bad? But they are not talking about her quality of work- they are talking about her appearance only. A distraction to the work she is trying to do.

    • vava says:

I’d also like to see E! step in, but my guess is they wouldn’t for legal reasons. (she could sue them….and probably win.).

    • Me44 says:

I read on another gossip site that E! wanted her to get help but she won’t go because she’s afraid that Maria Menounos will come in and take her job.

      • Jaded says:

Isn’t that sad…she’s willing to risk osteoporosis, malnutrition and possible heart problems because she’s afraid someone will take her job. Dear God, E! has to step up to the plate and do something as does her husband and family. Enough already, she is legitimately sick.

  50. Chelley says:

She looks shocking from just a few years ago. From her sharp, protruding bones to her obviously thinning hair it does look like she is suffering from anorexia. Sadly, she does look very similar to Karen Carpenter. I hope someone in her life will get her the help she needs.

  51. spring says:

Its so sad she clearly has a eating disorder, not only by he low weight but the way she seem to behave around food, ppl with eating disorders are great at making ppl believe they are fine and coming up with any excuse to carry on with her disorder, its so sad the ed is staving her but she will only age much quicker too, shes probably had the problem for so long that her family and friends don’t even notice it anymore like Angelina J.
    http://bit.ly/1Flzh6a

  52. Denise says:

No vitriol here, she’s not well. Of course she’s not going to admit to an eating disorder. I can’t help but feel her employers are complicit by continuing to put her on tv when she looks like she’s just a few years away from death. Imagine what she looks like in person if the camera puts on a few pounds. Her husband must be worried sick. They have a son to raise.

  53. moo says:

She’s starting to look like nancy reagan.

  54. pam j says:

I wonder if Joan’s death has ramped up her disorder. Seems she started getting alarmingly thinner since then. Also, the surrogate suffered a miscarriage. Maybe one or both were just too much to handle. I hope she gets the help she so desperately needs, if not for her own sake, at least her child’s.

  55. LaurieH says:

She looks good in both blonde hair and brown hair (as long as the blonde isn’t too blonde) and she definitely looks better with the shorter haircut. She is naturally thin, but I agree – she has gotten “scary” thin.

    • pam j says:

She isn’t naturally thin. She has a normal sized sister. I have 3 older sisters and we all have the same build. She has talked on her show about how she has to stay a size 00 to fit in designer clothes. The only thing she has ever been seen eating is sushi and the other anorexic idea of a meal, something liquid from Starbucks. Same with Rachel Zoe. It’s so sad to see them wasting away in front of their little ones. When she was on the View a few years ago when trying to get pregnant, Whoopi was astounded when she said she couldn’t gain the 10 pounds her doctor wanted her to because she wouldn’t fit into the clothes she needs for her job. It was insane. She was also overly concerned with what her surrogate was going to eat. She is definitely eating disordered. Look how big her hands look in comparison to her arms. It’s alarming how she’s wasting away.

On the one hand, the media and by extension the internet shouldn’t hound her, but she’s made it public that she has disordered eating and has a need to as low weight as possible. Avoiding the question by essentially saying it’s none of our business is disingenuous.

  57. Crumpet says:

There is no such thing as a ‘faster’ metabolism unless you have a serious medical condition. She is simply out of touch with what is a normal amount of food to eat.

  58. EatACookie says:

I could never understand why she had a fan base. She’s funny looking and boring. Her brown hair is too dark for her face and her makeup is unflattering.

    • Anony says:

I agree she is very weird looking…I don’t know how people see her ad attractive including herbhusband

  59. Ming says:

I googled old pics of her…WOW. Her face has changed soooo much.

    • Lissanne says:

It’s shocking. I just used to think she was unfortunate looking, but it’s clear from past photos that her natural appearance was once quite attractive. Starvation has really distorted the appearance of her face/head/neck, as well as her body.

  60. melain says:

Awww. Sad. Her thinning hair contributes to her overall look of ill health. But she can’t see it if she is suffering from an eating disorder. She did look like she was beating it for a time.

  61. Grace says:

I don’t know whether she has an eating problem or not But I think her face make her look like she is gaunt. . btw- Audrey Hepburn was that tiny but no close friend or family member said she had an eating disorder

  62. Isa says:

Looking at older photos of her, yes she does seen to have always been naturally thin. However we have no idea if she suffered from an ED even back then.

Reading her blog about her diet- there’s no reason why she should be mentioning hunger so often. With her work outs and her low calorie plan she could have easily fit more food in there. This is why I think she has an ED. Someone already so skinny fighting hunger and denying herself food. I’m not saying she had to eat some Cheetos or drink a soda. There was easily more room for some veggies or protein.

The fast metabolism is just an excuse when you see how strict she is with her food and exercise. The people I know with fast metabolism use it to their advantage. I’m not into skinny shaming. I know people that are naturally thin but they still look healthy. In the celebrity world I think of taylor swift. She’s very thin but never looks malnourished to me.

  63. Lola says:

As far as I can remember, she has always been thin. But, yes she seems now skinny. If she wants to disclose whatever, that is her choice. What I still don’t understand is why some people that start as celebrity journalists (I have no idea if they are called something else) at E! , Hollywood whatever, or any other similar show are also walking the red carpets at events. Are they now the celebrities? Was that the end game for some of them?

  64. parks says:

I have a disease called gastroparesis. Basically my stomach is paralyzed. I have lost a considerable amount of weight due to this. I have a feeding tube. I do not discuss this with people because it is none of their business. I can’t tell you how often I hear “eat a burger” or ” you are SO skinny”. I have been accused of having eating disorders by strangers, friends and family members. I get up every day, put my makeup on and get dressed and looking at me you would never think I have a chronic illness. We don’t know if it is an ED or a legitimate invisible illness. To me, as someone that is underweight due to an illness I don’t disclose, I think it is unfair for us to speculate on her health.
