I’ve found I can only rely on clichéd phrases when trying to politely hypothesize what’s going on with Amy Winehouse. Today’s clichéd phrase: the heart wants what it wants. That’s the only way I can possibly explain why Amy is still chasing after her loser hopefully soon-to-be-ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. According to her dad Mitch, Amy is still in love with the jailbird, and trying to “resolve” their “situation.” I think that’s code for “jump” back “into bed.”
AMY WINEHOUSE’s father says his daughter is “a stupid girl” for still hankering after her estranged junkie husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL.
Dad MITCH says Amy plans a heart-to-heart with Blake — released from jail last month after serving 15 months for assault and trial-fixing — and he fears his daughter longs to get back with her ex.
Mitch says: “Amy wants to resolve the situation. She’s guilty of loving him, stupid girl.
“I’m not saying she is going back to him, she just wants to talk. But I want her to get divorced. I want Blake and his family out of our lives.
“It’s the only chance Amy has. She nearly ended up dead thanks to him.”
Mitch told Closer magazine he will do his best to make sure Blake doesn’t get a penny of Amy’s fortune.
He said: “He’s after £5million. Does he think we’re idiots?
“Amy’s a musical talent, but since she’s been with Blake she’s barely been able to perform on stage, let alone make a record.”

I get the feeling that Amy would definitely go back to Blake if he would take her. And while I’m glad he hasn’t, I definitely don’t understand why. She is a million times too good for him – and somehow, he thinks he can do better? Ridiculous. Nonetheless, it’s good he’s so delusional that he somehow thinks there are women better than Amy who’ll have him. Because at least that means the two aren’t reconciling.
I understand the need for closure, but I doubt that’s what Amy’s really going for here. For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would be attracted to Blake Fielder-Civil. That’s why I just have to settle on “the heart wants what it wants.”

I have to agree with Amy’s dad here…she is a stupid girl for wanted to get back with that gold-digging junkie. She has also nearly destroyed her career and her life – that, in my opinion, makes her even more stupid. To be given an enormous talent like she has, only to throw it away on a person like Blake is ridiculous. Maybe once she comes out of her drug-induced haze she’ll understand what a mistake she made.

Sigh. I do understand this particular form of lunacy…and it’s been 4 years since the split. It dies hard. Fingers and toes crossed that they don’t get back together; he was the worst thing that ever happened to her.
