Full disclosure: I haven’t been inside a church in decades. And I’m fine with that. But if I needed to go to church for some reason (beyond wedding/funeral), I would like to think that I would at least show the proper respect to “going to church” with my style. I live in sweatpants and jeans for the most part, but I have some nice business-wear slacks and blouses and I’d probably bust out something clean, presentable and covered-up for church. Maybe it’s because I live in the South, but I believe you should do conservative, business-type looks for A) church or B) court. Church is not the time to do ripped jeans and a matching ripped t-shirt.
So, with all that mind, here are the photos from the Kardashians’ visit to church yesterday for Easter. Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and North coordinated their all-white looks. I have to give it to Kim – despite the fact that her ensemble is at least one size too small and utterly unflattering, she looks perfectly acceptable for church. North’s church clothes are fine too (baby’s first sack dress), and I even like her little flower wreath. But Kanye? Ripped jeans AND a holey t-shirt? Nope.
Oh, and I don’t know why I found this so charming – maybe because I actually believe she did this – but Kim posted an Instagram of her “Easter prep” – go here to see. I think she was making Easter baskets for North and for her nieces and nephew. I really do believe that she sat there and put those baskets together for whatever reason.
What else? Kendall’s church ensemble left something to be desired. Gaucho-skirt and wrap halter top revealing your midriff? Not in the house of God, girl! Khloe looks okay, meaning she’s reasonably covered up. Although the dress is much too tight, but whatever. This family… ugh.

Khloe’s wouldn’t be quite so bad if it were a size larger, and her butt was a few sizes less manufactured.
+1000. What I found funny is that they obviously decided that white was the color this year. They all had to go for the look. Something nice – the little ring of flowers in North’s hair is adorable. Something funny: Look at North’s tantrum face and Kanye’s bitch face when she is refusing the flower ring. They are EXACTLY the same.
White is new beginnings and appropriate for Easter.
White or an off white was standard at my old Catholic church. Pastels were more Pagan Easter and were the “look at me in the spring colors” clothes.
What isn’t great is the exposed skin. That’s just trashy.
Kim is actually the more appropriately dressed out of her family. Go figure.
Actually bare shoulders are not appropriate, so even Kim is missing the mark according to my Gramma’s rules.
At least Kourtney looked completely normal appropriate, although she’s not included in these pics. I guess she didn’t get the family memo that it was a White Party dresscode.
Do you really think they’re obtuse, or did they just do it for the attention? I lean toward the latter. Kanye just did it because obviously he IS God, so he can wear whatever he wants into His house.

Funny thing Singstress. It works the opposite way too. Whenever I think that Kanye might once have had some kind of talent and integrity, it all goes away when I think of his relationship with Kim (and all the Ks). He’s toast!

As Baptist as I am. And as many Easter Sunday’s I have spent in Church. I am pretty sure I have never seen an open bar in a church. So why are you dressed as if you are headed to an open bar. (though there have been times I have needed a drink following Church. Not gonna lie)
It is one thing to have to wear what you have, because that is all you have. So I am not offended by folks having holes in their clothes in Church. I am not here to judge them for making due, with what they have. Happy to have you join us.
But.
When you spend obscene amounts of money on dumb sh*t. And make sure you film it all for a “very special episode”. Then I get offended that you would show up, Easter Sunday at Church. Wearing broke down clothes. Because you are still attempting to show off your street cred as a “fashion designer”.
Isn’t this her mother’s “church”. So anything goes.
You can tell this is not Kris’ church because no one is wearing black robes and sporting horns on their heads.

From other paparazzi pictures over the years it seems celebs in LA look extremely casual at church. I think it may be because these churches are a lot more relaxed and trying to be “hip”. I’ve seen celebs wear jeans to church and tight tank tops so I dont think that their outfits are that big of a deal
As a native Californian, I can assure you it depends on the church, some are laid back and casual and some are more formal. It usually depends on the denomination and then the congregation and where the church is located.
But isn’t it the church the Kardashians founded and use as a tax shelter? I think the Ks could show up naked if they wanted and nobody would shoo them away.

So confession: I’m not religious, and don’t often enter a temple of any sort, but have always felt one must have some decorum about dressing for the occasion. Not torn jeans or tight clothes – that is all.

Every time I see a picture of Kim, I can’t tell if she is really chubby or just wears clothes that are too small. I’m probably going to get some hate for this, but I think it’s a combination of both. Kim isn’t fat, but she is “rolly.” She has rolls on her back that are always visible because her clothing is too tight, and her stomach is looking paunchy in these pics, and you can see the fat sticking out from under her arms. I’m not body shaming her, I’m just being honest and saying that she should stop wearing clothes that she shouldn’t.

My mother ALWAYS tries to say nice things about people (to an annoying degree), but the last time we were watching E, something about Kim came on and my mom was all “she’s too big”. Which is SO unlike her and I was asking what she meant and she said something uper similar to what you did.

At least North wasn’t in black. Although I would have liked to see her in some type of spring-like print (not necessarily floral). Kim was actually presentable for church. Kanye – ‘nough said – homeless chic. And Kendall, girl at least put a jacket on. Kylie and Tyga were there also with his son. Kylie’s outfit, while not as midriff baring as Kendall’s, it did not cover her entirely.
When I think back to church holiday things that I attended as a kid … I was always in cute puffy dresses with bright, happy prints. I remember one that my aunt had gotten me, that had different flowers and their names underneath each flower. Pretty sure it was white with mainly purple flowers, probably some yellow and blue as well. Happy, cheery kids clothes.
Me too. With white ankle socks and Mary Janes and a cute little purse. I was a super old fashioned kid so I even wanted to wear white gloves. 🙂
I also had hats for my daughters.
My grandmother used to make clothes for me and then dress me up and take me to church. I was her only granddaughter and she loved to show me off to all her friends, some of my first memories are of the dresses she made.
Kim actually looks lovely in this outfit. Yes, it’s probably a size too small, but other than that, it’s the best look I’ve seen her in in years.
Coming from a Catholic school, I can say that nobody was appropiate. But hey, what do I know.
Haha! I agree, there wasn’t really anyone dressed appropriately in any of those photos, Kardashian or not. That said, the church I go to sometimes doesnt really feature anyone dressed “appropriately” so I don’t think this is all that snark-worthy. The thing is, no one bats an eye, not even the priest. When I grumpled about it once I was told that its more important people are there than what they wear. I was even told not to fret when my children’s antics interrupt mass because the fact that they are there means more than anything. My daughter was sternly hushsed and evil eyed by a very old lady once though… that was amazing hahaha!
The thing is they go to church twice a year and it’s more of a fashion show than them going to church for anything religious.

That’s what I think too but that first look throws me off – the slicked back wet look when she first dyed her hair blonde. Can wigs do that?
I’m really starting to wonder about her “hair”. When she was “blonde”, her hair looked very thick. Then we had a week or two of the dark hair tied up in a tight little pony or bun, and it looked much thinner; almost plastered to her head. Now she’s got the extensions back and leaving it loose with the middle part, and, again, it looks super thick. Why is that? Is this also a wig? Why is there a distinct pulled-in line around her waist, particularly evident in the third photo? It’s as if she’s got a thick, elastic band pulled in very tightly. And her husband….pfft. My son did the holey, threadbare t-shirt years ago, and he was a teenager, who wore it only when he was in a serious skate session. They’ve all tarted themselves up to the nines in clothes that likely cost a fortune, but little North gets a sack to wear… These people are beyond vile.
Depending on the hair that’s not neccesarily telling. I wear my hair in a bun most of the time for work, if I comb it back it becomes very compact, then I wear it out and people think I’m wearing a wig because it’s big and curly and very long. If you have fine hair but lots of it you can hide a lot more of it than people would expect.
Going to church twice a year so that you can get papped is pathetic and sad. I’m surprised these people don’t burst into flames upon entering a church.

I don’t know who they’re trying to BS like they care about God or religion. Kendall and Khloe look ridiculous – its like the women in this family can’t function if they’re not attempting to be sexy. They live for male approval and it is so damn sad. Kylie might be covered up, but that outfit was inappropriate. They make it so obvious that they have no clue about the real world. Ever see the advertisements for that TLC show “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding”? I’m ALWAYS reminded of this family. Especially now that they’re allowed their youngest to get involved with a 25 year old. These women are glorified gypsies.

Nothing surprises me with this family…they never dress appropriately, no matter where they go, so I’m really not surprised they would dress like this for church, What surprised me, is that that they went to church!
For me and my kids I believe in dressing nice. If we were going to a party we would dress nice so I feel going to worship God should be just as special as some person’s party. However, Is truly don’t judge what other people wear. I don’t go to church for a fashion show. My husband wears jeans sometimes, and lots of people do and it’s whatever. They’re in church, that’s what matters. My pastor wore jeans and a hoodie a couple weeks ago, probably to be more relatable to people.
That being said I dislike when females dress too provocatively in church. Peoples focus needs to be on God, not your tits or your super short skirt.

You’re suppose to wear your “nice” clothes to church, nothing too short, cover your arms, no holy clothes and definitely NO midriff baring. They’re just doing it for publicity. They suck.

I really feel like Kim has finally taken notice of the comments being made about her being a part time mum and not hands on etc. She seems to be posting many more pics and messages about Nori. What’s a shame for me is that it feels contrived and manufactured and like she’s thinking “oh I’ll just transform the image”. My two year old granddaughter wants nothing to do with anything in her hair. She will sometimes but on a hat but rarely. Her mom will put her hair up in a ponytail and within 5 minutes she will have it pulled out. So it doesn’t surprise me that North is having nothing to do with it.

Ripped T-shirts and midriff-baring halter tops are pretty over-the-top, but I’m not sure their clothing choices raised many eyebrows. Church clothes in CA are quite a bit less formal than in the South, and even in the South, people have taken to wearing jeans in many congregations. Yes, people still dress up more on Easter (and Black churches tend to be much more formal — oh the HATS!) but it’s such a range now. I’m not actually sure the Kardashians would have been the most dressed-down congregants in the building.

Yeah, I grew up Southern Baptist and I’m black. I got told I was going to hell for wearing pants in church. At 11. As I was in a full suit. It’s still no joke. I think my grandma would’ve flat out throttled them for walking into “the house of the Lord” like that.
I was raised Catholic, and my dad would never allow us girls to wear pants to church. Not even when I was on crutches. It was disrespectful to the Lord to not look your best when attending church. Now I usually just wear pants, but on occasion have worn jeans (but NEVER ripped or torn!!!) and I’ve never gotten my church dresses confused with my club dresses, lol!
Dressing down is one thing but wearing clothes that are ripped (Kanye’s tshirt looks like it has seen better days) or exposing your midriff or wearing clothes that are two sizes two small is not, to me, dressing down. You can dress down and still be dressed appropriately for church.
exactly. i live in the South and people dress down here too. but i would never wear ripped clothes or overly sexual clothes to church. or wear any of those outfits, period, out of church, either, all are too skanky.
It’s not really a matter of dressing down (Kanye’s fake torn clothing is always ridiculous, they’re bought pre-torn for big bucks). The idea is to not distract other people who are trying to focus on something else. So tight clothing and clothing that shows certain parts of the body, depending on local taboos, are out for religious services because they are intended to distract and attract attention to the wearer.
When I was in church yesterday, I was surprised how many people were in jeans–half if not more. At least he’s in white. Like the flowers in North’s hair.
I too was surprised yesterday at how terrible people dressed. Young women were wearing the shortest of skirts and over the top spike heels.

Our church has a “come as you are” dress code. People show up in jeans, miniskirts, dresses, shorts…so while I probably wouldn’t wear any of their outfits, they don’t really bother me. I’ve seen a lot worse.
That’s the way it should be. Why should people have to be dressed up? God himself isn’t there, and the benches are uncomfortable

I am not the most religious person in the world, but I agree with you, L. I kinda feel like God wants you however you dress. Not up to us to say they aren’t worthy of being there.
Having said all that – I would NEVER go to church dressed that way. It’s a matter of respect.
There’s nothing wrong with “dress to impress,” but “dress to distract” is not appropriate. If an elderly has a bit of muffin top in a shirt that fit a couple of sizes ago, she’d get a pass from me….her intention isn’t to have sex appeal. For her…that’s just life, and gaining a few while being on a limited, fixed income could be a reality for most of us. However, the Kardashians, with endless fashion choices, are going to church with their boobs and butts (and bellybutton- Kendall) in everyone’s faces. It’s intentional, oversexualized, and in extremely bad taste.
I don’t think you should have to get super dressed up, a lot of people don’t have money for big wardrobes. As long as what you’re wearing is clean and you make an effort to look decent, great.
But there’s no excuse for someone wealthy like Kanye to show up in a ripped t-shirt, or someone wealthy like the one girl to wear that halter top thing.
He doesn’t know how to get dressed up. He’s always wearing the same hoodie and jeans every day. At least these white clothes look like they might be clean.

I wouldn’t wear this stuff either, but Kanye’s ripped jeans and T-shirt probably retail for more than my fanciest church clothes (and I do have them, and wear them, because old habits die hard). The thing is, A LOT of churches have taken a “come as you are” approach and whatever else we can say about their outfits, this is sure how the Kardashians are!
I guess ultimately, I think their clothes are either ugly or beach-wear, but I’m no more offended by them wearing them to church than to the fancy restaurants they visit. (And not to get all theological, but God isn’t any more present in church than at the beach, right? God is everywhere.)
In my country (mostly catholics) people wear everything from everyday clothes to nicer ones to church. If you go to poorer parts of the city, you would see them in shorts, tops, whatever they might be wearing at the time.
At the beach in hot places, well people do not wear swimsuits to church, but it is a close call. But these tricks, particularly Kendall here is over the top. At least people at the beach are on holidays and probably run to church in what they have available.
In the same country in some more conservative / colder places, people dress up a bit more , and they cover up more, to the extent of prohibiting tourists from wearing short shorts in the architectonically important churches, but that is just in very few places.
I notice they dress up more to those churches that have USA/protestant influence, like the mormons or other Christian denominations. I was weirded out by how elegant people went to church in the USA (California) when I went visiting. It looked like a competition of dressing up (to me).
I don’t care what people wear to church, but if don’t get why people act like it’s so much more trouble to put on a pair of pants and a pretty blouse than it is a pair of jeans. It takes the same amount of time. It’s just as comfortable. I get some people can’t afford to dress up but I don’t understand the hatred for wearing anything other than jeans.

I’m not a church goer myself and I think organized religion bears a lot of guilt for the terrible things it sanctions, but I have to say that this obvious photo op called in by the family offends me and I find it really disrespectful to people who were there to actually worship on Easter.

Mandy, I want answers, too! As a blonde (I accept it was a wig) the hair was very thick. Then she turned dark again, with the hair constantly tied back, but the hair appeared really thin. Now she’s got the extensions, the middle part and the hair’s free-flowing, and it appears very thick on top again. My finer, curly hair is the bane of my existence. I want to know her tricks, dammit!
I have been looking at her hair for a while and I think for the most part she wears wigs. Many of the wigs, blonde or black, are center-parted wigs. Sometimes the wigs seem to be only on the top of her head using some of her hair in the back. The first blonde day may have been her real hair and then she went to wigs. I don’t know why I have concerned myself with this, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the unbelievableness of it all.

I looked at the pics- Tyga’s son had on a light blue and white pin striped toddler suit. Kourtney and kids was the only other one who didn’t follow white-only orders, she had on normal clothing in other colors that wasn’t tight or “revealing”. She carried Penelope in one pic, but then Demon Grandmother must have needed a kid to look loving for the paps and was carrying Penelope, who (as she did when Kim carried her recently for a pap shoot) was pushing away from Demon Grandmother. Little Mason was dressed casually in neat shorts that had some fringe like cutoffs. He was carrying some small toys.

I’m an atheist and don’t give two sh*ts about church, but if I were somehow dragged into one, even I would wear something appropriate for the situation…especially for Easter Sunday. It’s pretty obvious that Kanye wasn’t raised in a black church or else he would never have even THOUGHT about wearing that tattered get up.
I wonder why Kanye never spends any holidays with his own family. He has a father that is alive and they have a relationship. Kanye is also close with his Aunt. He spent Christmas with Kim’s family too. It should be equal. But Kim probably thinks her family is more important.

Kendall is holding a blazer and most likely was wearing it in church. I highly doubt she marched in with her midriff showing. People would have stared and said something.
Also church has become casual where I live (from suburbs of NYC). My mom used to dress my sister and I in matching dresses and nice shoes every Sunday. As we got older and dressed ourselves, we wore casual clothes like jeans and regular shirts. We only dress up for important holidays like Christmas, Easter, weddings and funerals. It depends on where you live. I never got the evil eye for wearing jeans with flip flops.
So does Kanye dictate what colors everyone should be wearing? Everyone in white today! The great and powerful Kanye has spoken. He looks like he just got done dumpster diving for that outfit which I’m sure is designer and cost a small fortune. But the most astonishing thing to me is that this family walked into a church. Didn’t know PMK’s deal with devil still allowed that. I can see her recreating Al Pacino’s scene in The Devils Advocate when he dips his finger in Holy water and it starts bubbling.
This is likely his jab at the PR memo people who told them to all wear white and look “holy” for the photo coverage.
I never get it when people on here say North is soooo cute, I just don’t see it… she always has that grumpy annoyed look on her face, inherited from Daddy…that one pic up top where Kim is looking at her and Kanye and North both have this annoying grumpy face on them…yikes
I know what you mean, MadMenluv, but there was a great photo of North on Daily Mail, after an Easter egg hunt, I believe. She was holding a big pink basket and smiling like you wouldn’t believe – dimples, too! She looked so cute. I think she’s miserable and bored a lot of the time, being carted about hither and yon, with cameras constantly surrounding her, flashbulbs going off and being carried by these people who can’t even smile at her, much less engage with her.
She was NOT with her mom at that easter hunt.
Which is WHY she was happy and smiling.
Nori is a very nice looking kid, but so are many toddlers her age. She just looks distressed so often with Kim. People are also stretching to find something nice to say and to emphasize that Nori is okay, they just can’t stand Kim. Personally, I don’t think Nori likes Kim either so they don’t really need to do that…
In the pics I’ve seen of this Easter pap walk, Kim is doing something she often does when holding Nori- restraining her arm and/or or leg/feet. I suspect the kid is struggling now that she can walk so Kim holds her down, or possibly the kid would take a swing at Kim otherwise. It would have made sense to have Kanye carry the kid (she seems more relaxed with him and besides, she’s getting heavier) or to just let her walk while holding her hand in a safe place like this.
Yeah but does it count if it’s your own fake church set up for tax evasion purposes? At this point David Miscaviage is calling Kris for advice. I didn’t dream this all up she has a fake church, right?

What church do they go to? As if they go to church at all. It was probably a ‘pap walk’ and they never entered the church. Having said that: You can tell their thought process simply by how whorish they dress for church. Bunch of vapid devils.

I mean, you dress your toddler in all white, take her to Church, and don’t have a toy, or anything to keep her busy and quiet? No bag with a juice or milk bottle or crackers for her? None of the Ks bother with their original Armenian Catholic Church? Tyga and Kanye don’t have other church affiliations? I assume Kris Jenner’s Church That Kardashian Tax Shelters Built must be the lucky winner.
I live in a MUCH less religious country than America, I’ve been an atheist since before I knew there was a word for it. My parents are both atheists. Religion has played zero part in my life and yet even I put on my nice conservative clothes if I ever have reason to be in a church/temple/synagogue/mosque. It’s what I think absolutely everyone does.
They aren’t really going to church though to be fair, they were attending Kris Jenner’s tax dodge organisation which probably has more lax views on these things.
Khloe and Kim’s lip injections have gone to a new level. I can’t stop staring at where their normal lips used to be! It looks like they have had “dental work” done and are recovering. When I still went (until roughly 2006) I would sometimes wear (fashionable) jeans with holes in the knees. Even the Pastor (who the Kardashian’s know … and this could be his church) told the congregation, “Jesus doesn’t care what you wear to church … just come to church. ” But seriously, these people take it to a whole new level. And why does Kanye never carry that kid?
I think Kim brings her everywhere with to get even more pap’d. I’d be pissed off if she showed up at a Chanel runway show (that I was attending) with the kid and she started to fuss or cry.
