Sigh… seeing Aaron Taylor Johnson in velvet at the premiere of a Marvel film just makes me think of Tom Hiddleston. I miss Hiddles, you guys. I was hoping-against-hope that Hiddles would come out for a surprise appearance at the UK premiere of The Avengers: Age of Ultron last night, but it didn’t happen. I guess Tom is busy working on The Night Manager and he couldn’t break away to hang with his Marvel buds. Sad. So in lieu of Hiddles, we have an assortment of hot dudes and a few boring people. Aaron Taylor Johnson was joined on the red carpet by his wife, Sam Taylor Johnson. Surprisingly, I think Aaron was the only one to bring his significant other to the London premiere? That’s interesting.
Mark Ruffalo is the best. If you had asked me six years ago if Mark Ruffalo would ever be a part of a major studio comic-book franchise, I would have laughed and laughed. But look at him now – he wears it well. He manages to keep his indie cred and be a great part of this team.
Chris Hemsworth was without Elsa at the premiere. I don’t think she and the kids came to London at all. Just as well – Chris complained that the babies screamed their heads off on the flight from Australia to LA. Chris’s hair looks really good these days, right?
I will never understand Jeremy Renner’s affection for mobster-style. Seriously, he always looks like he’s the pit-boss at a casino.
Robert Downey Jr. needs to tone down the lift-wearing. Those lifts must add three inches to his height!!
I don’t care what anyone else thinks, Paul Bettany could still get it. He is the business.
And finally, here’s Elizabeth Olsen in Saint Laurent. I actually don’t mind the cape thing or the high collar. My problem? The shoes and the length of the dress. It feels like this should be knee-length or longer. The shoes are just awful though, those just need to be burned.

Ruffalo and Bettany look best. Though Renner looks like he stepped off the set of Goodfellas, at least it fits him well and is tailored to his height. Downey Jr. may be a gozillionaire but he dresses like he hits the blue light specials at Walmart. Nothing fits and he looks cheap, though I am sure those ugly shoes, with Cruise size lifts, cost more than my car. I know many folks just love him, but to me he is a cross between smug and not caring any more. He seems to lack sincerity.

IMDB says Paul Bettany is 6’3.5″, which is only “fairly tall” where I live (West Michigan) but is practically a giant in Hollywood.
I can’t figure out what makes Renner look like a mobster. He truly does but he wears almost the exact same thing as Hemsworth – a blue suit with brown shoes, a big watch, short spiked her and while the latter looks stylish, Renner manages to look skeevy. Is it a goatee, aviators or maybe just his face?

And I’m getting a kick out of the Avengers cast’s social media pictures and posts. They seem like a fun bunch. So far great promo the cast sells itself.
The cast all has families with young children so I’m not surprised they didn’t come. I mean they were just in Korea a few days ago and I’m guessing they have a few more stops on the junket. Maybe we will see more families in NYC but pretty sure LA is the only stop we might see kids and spouses.

I miss Hiddles too, Kaiser. Right now, he’s looking the best he has since Coriolanus and reminds me of why I had the hots for Jack Bauer. He would have rocked the suit like Bettany did.
More like Jack Bauer’s much taller younger brother. The boy is looking good, but I think it’s going to be a long dry spell before more sightings of Pine/Tom. I’m glad he’s been working his ass off and all, but it does make for some severe dry spells in Hiddleston-land. Darn him and his work ethic anyway.
On the bright side, if High Rise does make it to Cannes and his schedule allows him to attend, he’s so bulked up we may see a new suit. I’m not sure the others in his closet would fit at this point.

Cannes for OLLA was such a bounty of riches I’m almost afraid another appearance might be a let down. Not sure anything could top the blue suit, the Ray-Bans, the glorious lack of undergarments, the palpable Tom/Tilda chemistry, and another sublime red carpet Tuxedo Tom appearance. It was a perfect storm.
Wow, this is the first picture that I have ever seen of Elisabeth Olsen where I can totally see that she is the little sister of the Olsen twins.
Not surprised that Hiddles wasn’t there, sad though it was. Especially since it appears that only Idris Elba is in the movie representing from Asgard (besides Thor, of course!). I’m sure he is busy filming, and I think his fans are so crazy that it is probably a relief for the rest of the group not to have him around.
I don’t know much about Paul Bettnay. He looks amazing in these pictures though. I will have to check him out! I think he wins the “hottest eye candy at the premiere” award, followed closely by Hemsworth and Ruffalo. Sadly, my secret love for Jeremy Renner is strained in these pictures.

The Guardian newspaper review certainly said there was no Loki in it. so what was idris Elba opening his big mouth about several months ago? I was hoping for a brief Loki appearance at the end at least. I’m sure I will still enjoy it but it won’t be the same. RDJ for the win here.
