  1. Abbott says:

That trailer sounds like it accidentally farted out the Endless Love remake soundtrack. Other than that, Oscars for everyone!

    • Dee Kay says:

I don’t like the use of “Landslide,” a sad song about trying to recover from a badly broken heart, for a film about the women’s movement. It just feels wrong. On the one hand, it does a disservice to the song because that’s not at all what the song is about. OTOH, it does a disservice to the film because the film isn’t about your man walking out on you. If anything, it looks like the Carey Mulligan character is going to be walking out on her man, b/c he won’t accept her working for the cause. Wrong song for what looks like a strong film about a very important period for women’s rights.

    • Booopyybetttes says:

Period piece flicks: the only films where white only casting makes sense anymore.

Starting in 2016, all movies will take place in 17th century Europa.

      • chrissy says:

Actually, there is a lot of evidence that white only casting seldom even makes sense in 17th century Europe, but we have been conditioned to think that it does.

  2. Mia4S says:

I liked the UK trailer better (no song). It’s on YouTube. Oddly that trailer hit extra deep after the disgusting Duggar interview and seeing how they sell out, exploit, and dismiss the daughters in the family.

    Sadly, the fight goes on.

  3. Beth says:

Looks like a solid performance from Carey Mulligan. It is always a relief to see natural acting, without OTT belaboured expressions and fits of yelling and screaming and epic breakdown-ing to be deemed Oscar-worthy. Sure the movie looks like it has a few cliches but I like Carey Mulligan and the supporting cast and I’m looking forward to this.

    • Kiki says:

And it is finally written for women, written strongly.

    • Abbott says:

Carey, HBC, and Streep? Please. I’m in.

    • M.S. says:

That’s one of the things I really like about Carey Mulligan – she never seems like she’s acting. She is able to portray strong emotions naturally in a way that a lot of actors can’t.

    • Norman Bates' Mother says:

The cast is amazing – three of the best actresses out there, Brendan Gleeson and a very solid supporting cast. Even if the script sucks, it’s be worth watching for the acting.

    • tracking says:

      yes, can’t wait!

    • Franca says:

While I’m not such a huge fan of Streep and HBC ( I think they tend to overact, blasphemy, I know) I LOVE Carey, Anne-Marie Duff, Romola Garai and Ben Whishaw.

  4. Kiki says:

This film is very powerful and poignant. And the writing is very good not lifetimish. I will see this film .

  5. bettyrose says:

I thought that cover pic was Johnny Weir.

  6. tifzlan says:

Jaime Camil is easily the breakout star of JTV and that For Your Consideration is absolutely hilarious! Fits in perfectly with Rogelio de la Vega. I absolutely love JTV and hope it’ll win everything it’s nominated for!

  7. doofus says:

That video of Michelle Duggar STARING is disturbing.

and Scott Walker can go F himself.

  8. Who is this woman in the PVC tube?

  9. Greek chic says:

Carey Mulligan and Maggie Gylenhaal have the same old lady look. They could be friends and drink tea together.

    • Lucy2 says:

I just saw Carey’s current movie, and for much of it I kept thinking how she has the face of a much older woman. Not in a wrinkles/sun damage way or anything, just the natural structure of her face makes me think of someone much older.
I like her as an actress, and this film looks like it will be good. The song is an odd choice for the trailer though.

  10. lowercaselois says:

I love lifetime y movies because it is a guarantee that it will chase my husband and sons out of the room and then they won’t bother me.

  11. Norman Bates' Mother says:

Menninists will drown in their own hate when this movie comes out. Can’t wait.

  12. PixieWitch says:

holy crap that trailer was awesome. i can’t believe this happened really not too long ago and now we have a woman running for president.

    • RobN says:

Victoria Woodhull was the first, way back in 1872. Somebody ought to make a movie about her life but I’m not sure most people would believe it’s all true.

  13. Momo says:

Looks like a great movie but what is going on with Carey Mulligan?? She looks like a shriveled shell of her former self. Is she sick? Starving? Depressed? All I know is that she didn’t always look like that.

  14. Miss M says:

I really want to see this movie!

  15. PennyLane says:

I kind of want to see a double feature of this movie and Mad Max: Fury Road.

  16. Me too says:

I really like her as an actress, but these are terrible pictures. She straight up looks like a dude. Short hair doesn’t help her plainness.

  17. Katie says:

I love Angie but no way is she just 40.

  18. msd says:

I want to like this because it features so many women but films like this are often painfully earnest and safe. I hope it does something a bit bold and isn’t a predictable cookie cutter BBC style telemovie. And I hope it doesn’t focus on women sacrificing romance …. I want politics not another relationship drama!

  19. eribra says:

Looking at Bindi in full make up makes me feel old. She is a beautiful young lady.

  20. Corrie says:

When you get strong and powerful but emotional – doesn’t mean its lifetime-y. I think its backwards to label it so.

  21. cakecakecake says:

    THIS is gonna be GOOD!!!

I cannot wait, I see so many of my favs in this!!!
