I gotta eat my words after questioning whether Kylie Jenner truly graduated from high school last week. Kylie presented this Instagrammed proof of her graduation gown and high school diploma. She graduated from Laurel Springs high school, a privately accredited online establishment. The school does have actual graduation requirements, although I find it strange that they’d hold a full-on graduation service. Attendees would show up and not know anyone else in the room. Weird, right? Maybe they simply distribute caps and gowns so graduates can take selfies and family shots.
Kylie did throw herself a huge graduation party. Scratch that, Ryan Seacrest was the organizer of the shindig. The party looked like a lavish blowout, and several Instagram videos documented the night’s events. This moment right here made the entire party — Khloe Kardashian twerking her Pinocchio butt. (Oh, and the gentleman in blue appears to be rubbing a powdery substance on his gums.)
Also in attendance were Kim and Kourtney Kardashian as well as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Kylie received expensive gifts like a diamond Rolex watch and danced seductively. Here are more video clps of the evening’s highlights.

I don’t believe for one minute she actually graduated high school. Someone else may have graduated high school for her but I am willing to bet SHE didn’t earn the credits herself. Same with Kendall. A person cannot spend as much time on social media the way that Kylie does and claim she has spent time studying and earning a diploma. She didn’t earn that diploma.

Yes, as soon as I saw the picture elsewhere of the diploma, I thought “another Kardashian response to comments on tabloid sites”. As if a diploma is proof of anything from such a rich kids’ online outfit. The real question is who exactly fulfilled the school requirements. There is very good reason to doubt that it was Kylie. Not a peep from her about anything school related all this time, until people kept complaining about her lack of an education. Then poof, a diploma.

The term privately accredited school makes me dubious. As someone involved in accreditation for many years, there are robust accreditations by reputable bodies and then there are…others. If the school isn’t accredited in the normal way that schools are – and I’m a Brit so I don’t know the system – that diploma may not be worth the paper it’s written on. Just conjecture on my part though. But She would ace a PhD in faffing about with one’s face and other bodily parts.
I wondered the same thing, but this school does have regional accreditation, which, under the US system, makes it legit.
As far as who actually completed the classes – who knows? You’d think that the accreditation bodies would ask the schools what mechanisms are in place to ensure that the person recieving the diploma is the same person who did the work. There are ways to do that, but (in my experience, at the college level), asking about that kind of verification isn’t part of the accreditation process.
It’s an online school, and it should tell you everything you need to know that its “curriculum” has “shipping fees.” ::eye roll::

Did I do some wild stuff when I was 17? Sure. Did I simulate sex while dancing dressed like that and post videos of it for the world to see? No. My mother would have gone crazy and rightfully so. No, you are wrong, normal teens do not sexualize everything, including a family graduation party.

I don’t follow this family or their show but there seems to be a post about some member of their family on this website everyday. I know the other Jenner daughter is a model so ignorant question is: does this one model too? Does she do something else for a living or is she headed for uni?
She promotes products. She also has a hair extension line and other beauty product endorsements. I’m not mad that her mother has raised her to be financially self-sufficient at 17. I WISH.
I agree with you about her being financially self-sufficient. Definitely a huge plus and something that is incredibly important. I certainly can’t knock her for buying a house @ 17-years-old. I do hope they’re watching her money with Tyga being around, especially since his rap career flatlined a long time ago. I’m sure her money is at least part of the appeal.

Eh, BS. Pretty much no one in Hollywood has a degree and they’re all making mad money. For a regular person it might be useful, for a celeb there’s no appeal as far as earnings are concerned cause no degree in the world will give you a few millions per year working maybe a week out of each month. And by working, I mean posing.
I don’t even know how to explain what Kylie does. She’s not a model, but she sells her own line of weaves for a weave line, she has a clothing line with her name on it along with her sister Kendall, and she appears on their TV show. Kendall and Kylie also have books out that were ghostwritten by someone else. There is no university in her future.

I graduated college in May with triple honors and all i asked from my parents was a trip to Disneyland….

Do people usually get things for graduating from high school? Or parties? I mean, I did have straight As in hs and we had a school party, but no huge party at home. Nor did we get the capes and stuff, you get that when you gradute from university. Graduating from high school is not a big deal because everyone graduates from high school.
I think it may be seen as such a big deal not cause it’s an achievement but exactly due to the fact that everyone does it… a rite of passage, a moment to celebrate and remember, one of the last steps towards being a grown up etc etc. Except, this girl has been a “grown-up” for quite a while now…

Man, all I got for graduating high school was a summer of taking community college classes before actual college so I could skip all the “intro” classes in the fall.

I got a dinner with the family and a really sweet card from my parents with some gas money for the road trip I was planning. My kid graduated high school in 2013. I am a high school teacher. That’s not an official state high school diploma. It’s a certificate. You can buy the template and the seal paper from Staples and print them on your personal printer.

Is it standard procedure to not have the name of whatever you graduated in actually written down on your certificate? I’m not familiar with what a high school diploma is so excuse my ignorance, I just thought it might state some subjects taken.
In America at least high school diplomas will just have the name of the school, your name, the principal’s name, and maybe some special honor on it. I think college diplomas are the ones where the subject you majored in is on the actual diploma.

Since I’m late to the game, someone else may have already addressed the graduation ceremony.
I am earning my bachelor degree online and the school is located in Iowa. When it comes time to graduate, I will be given the option of paying for the cap, gown, etc. and then going to the facility to walk across the stage. While it is true I will likely not know anyone there, I think it is also a true statement that people who go to school with 3,000+ kids (I have a few friends who went to high schools that were that large) won’t know everyone, either.

Just had to scroll through a ton of comments to post my own. My sentiments exactly. I liked the pic of her with a diploma. Then I watched the videos….and just no.
This story just makes me feel sad and kind of sick to my stomach. This is a little girl who thinks if she makes himself up to look like sexpot (like her sisters) it means she’s grown up. It’s sad that she thinks it’s all about sex and sexuality and putting so much makeup on that you’re unrecognizable from what you normally look like. I just don’t understand her sisters or parents thinking all of this is okay. Twerking at your little sisters graduation party from highschool? Really? There’s the problem in a nutshell! Where’s the mentors and older sisters who are telling her that she can be more than a sexy face/body? Instead they are encouraging her behaviour and showing her how it’s done. The only one I like at all is Kourtney. She seems a lot more genuine and appears to care about her kids. Kylie has virtually been abandoned by her parents at a very dangerous time in her life and I really fear for her future. I don’t think she’s emotionally mature enough to understand what she’s doing or to handle the inevitable fallout when things crash and burn. Money doesn’t buy class or happiness.
