Late Monday evening, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale confirmed that they had filed for divorce. While there were rumors about the state of the Stefani-Rossdale marriage for years, the divorce announcement felt like it came out of nowhere, in this, The Summer of Breakups. One of the long-standing rumors was that Gavin cheated on Gwen, especially in the beginning of their relationship. But I truly haven’t heard anything lately about Gavin’s wandering eye. Now TMZ says that Gwen believes he cheated though…
Gwen Stefani pulled the plug on her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale because she believed he was cheating on her. We’re told Gwen and Gavin have not gotten along for some time. As one source put it, the split was “a long time coming.”
We’re told Gwen complained about Gavin being away from home too much, touring with his band Bush from December 2014 through March 2015. One source says Gwen put pressure on him to stop touring and stay home. For his part, he felt it she was hypocritical because she was on the road too. Our sources say Gavin is a very good father, so both sides are seeking a joint custody arrangement.
I think it’s more than possible he was fooling around. I also think it’s possible that their marriage has been on the rocks for a while and Gavin was trying to get Gwen to acknowledge that it was over when he stayed out on the road endlessly. Sigh… I hope this won’t get dirty. I mean, on a gossip level, the dirtier it is, the more fun to cover. But still… I feel sorry for Gwen. I feel like she tried really hard to make her marriage work.

Not sure about now, but my best guy friend in high school was obsessed with Courtney Love.
He probably did cheat while on the road. Most of them do I think. They’re away a long time and they consider hooking up nothing more than satisfying an urge. It is risky. The other person could talk, being found out, the risk of STD’s, etc . Being away from home for long periods of time is a marriage destroyer and it seemed like he was away most of the time.
Hot blonde nanny was his sister so I don’t think he pulled an Batfleck.
I’m glad you mentioned that.. I remember that story and the person they were talking about was his sister; she was helping to take care of the boys. I don’t know if she still does. But that “blond nanny” was her.

Well Gwen and Gavin had about 4 nannies at least 3 of them were “hot” and blonde the other was a “hot” brunette. The older women is newish she seemed to have came around when Apollo was born.

Good for her. She did everything to keep that relationship going from day one, he’s dead weight-good looking dead weight for sure but nevertheless…she’s more prolific in her career, he’s a dishonest cheat, and he’s been taking her for granted for decades.
This sounds about right in a nutshell. I don’t really follow them but their body language has always seemed off to me, like he’s emotionally distant from her.

I understand that he’s a performance artist and being on the road is part of the job. But if he really was intentionally staying out for longer than he needed to so that his wife would realize there marriage was over… That’s just f*cked up. Come on, man. Grow up and grow some, and tell your wife you don’t want to be with her if that’s the case. A spouse owes that at the very least to their partner, but thats doubly true if your partner is the goddess Stefani. She’s always been a major girl crush (I play the song she did with Sublime on endless repeat), and I think she deserves so much better than that.

She seems like she’d be a hard one to leave/convince its over. Her entire career was based/started on her breakup with her only other long term bf. It isn’t harsh IMO if people have issues letting go and she totally looks like someone who would plus coupled with her Catholic upbringing. My parents have been miserable 20 out of 40 years married and they still carry on (verbally abuse one another and sleep in separate bedrooms, but they carry on due to the Catholic bit).

that goes for everyone in the entertainment business though. Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett. They all rarely see their children and dont get called out on that.

Jayna – Are you sure? I recall the woman you are talking about and she was often seen in the Daily Fail, but she seems wa-a-a-ay too young to be his sister. The Daily Fail is notorious for messing up (or being lazy on the fact checking) on the identity of those photographed with a celeb. On multiple occasions they’ve referred to a manager or nanny as a “friend” (e.g. Jenn Garner).

People stay away for a reason. I don’t come home a lot at night until late because I am presently unhappy in my relationship. It is a subtle way of distancing yourself from your partner. I doubt it was a nanny situation but maybe groupies? Another woman? I can’t imagine breaking up because you think he is cheating, how about you know he is?

Gavin is a serial cheater since forever. He cheated on his ex with Courtney Love and Gwen. Then he cheated on Gwen with Courtney. Courtney spilled that tea ages ago and included she wasn’t the only one + that Gwen knew. There are many fan stories out about him cheating, most notably when touring with Bush after the birth of his first child with Gwen. And there’s evidence, I have seen pictures in 2007 of him grabbing a girl’s ass in public (in some pub). Can’t verify if it’s true but I read somewhere that even a magazine that interviewed Gwen (when she was his girlfriend) noted that Gavin was flirting with some girls in the back of another room. It’s an open secret.

Didn’t he hide a couple of big things from her – such as his lovechild, Daisy Lowe? And I’m sure she didn’t know about his tryst with Marilyn (a transgender singer) before they got married. I’m certain Gwen only found out about these things at the same time as the rest of us which must’ve come as a shock.

Her break up with Tony certainly did produce a great album and it wouldn’t surprise me if she does the same now. She’s an artist and her song writing is a way of working through the heartache.

Just read another People magazine “exclusive” which – as usual – I would take with a healthy dose of skepticism. Unless it comes directly from a celeb’s mouth, anything they write is fiction or obvious to anyone (“People can exclusively report that water is wet”).
Had to laugh when I read that one of their sources confided that “This is not a family that mostly relies on nannies”. Not a crime to have nannies, but even those that don’t follow Gwen can attest that she is seldom seen WITHOUT at least one nanny – even when her helpful husband is with her.
Gwen will land on her feet and her kids will be fine. I get the impression that she comes from a close, loving family.

Gavin has always known Gwen isn’t that smart or clever. Not saying stupid or that she was easily fooled when he stepped out, but certainly not on the intellectual level of Gavin. Ask Courtney. Have you ever heard Gavin once say anything about his wife other than she dresses well and is a great mother? No. My theory? This is some interesting food for thought and no I did not know he was behind L.A.M.B., but that changes things eh? Certainly it changes things from a financial perspective. Do tell. I heard a radio interview with her earlier this year and was surprised at how air-headed she sounded. I had to turn it off. It didn’t jive with my image of her as a savvy businesswoman.

I got to meet & hang with Bush back in their heyday of the glorious 90’s. This was around the time Gavin first hooked up with gLen. I can remember thinking WHY? He was so gorgeous and sexy and very smart (That surprised me. He’s a rock star, aren’t they all dumb? LOL) He was into philosophy and metaphysics and Paul Auster, he’s pretty well read. And she was this idiot twat from the OC. Every time she opened her mouth I was just shocked. I wondered if the bleach had leaked into her head. I couldn’t understand the attraction. She couldn’t sing, she was pretty stupid, Plus, without all that makeup spackled on (& all the numerous plastic surgeries now) she is really hideous. I almost didn’t recognise her, until my brother pointed her out. He was so in love with her back then, but even he said, “Damn, she’s gross.”
The only thing I’m amazed about this story is that it took Gavin 13 years to finally escape her desperate clutches.

Every comment section I’ve read here or elsewhere has someone who knows a groupie who was either propostioned or slept with Gavin pre-marriage. That doesn’t mean during marriage but methinks where there is smoke, there is fire. I did read one where they said they used to see them around a lot back in the day and seemed to only have eyes for one another, which is sad IMO.

It was very popular from 1995-2002. I was a huge fan in the 1995-2002 era and I grew up in the US (in Canada now). It was played all the time on alternative rock stations.. I am 34, so maybe it is an age/music era thing?
