Kylie Jenner covers the new issue of Galore magazine as “the face of generation bombshell,” which is a disconcerting statement. I probably didn’t even have to tell you the photographer’s name — Terry Richardson — for you to know who shot it. There’s the glaring white Uncle Terry aesthetic, which is so rampant in all of his “work.” He’s proud of that pr0ny vibe, and Kris Jenner must have set this shoot up ages ago. She couldn’t wait to get Kylie in front of Terry’s lens. You can see the whole shoot right here. The editorial isn’t as pervy as you’d expect from Terry, but there’s plenty of cleavage and other skin.
Once again, Kylie’s interview excerpts make me sad. She admits she wasn’t ready to quickly grow up, but the family “lifestyle” dictated the pace of maturity. Kylie also says Kim is her idol because of her die-hard work ethic. We can already tell Kylie wants to look like Kim, but the only work ethic here is in the art of the selfie:
She’s felt “adult” for awhile: “The reality is that I don’t even want to be 18. I wish I could be 17 for the rest of my life. I don’t want to get any older. I just want to be young and enjoy it, but this lifestyle absolutely made me grow up faster. For me, age is just a number. It just makes no sense that, even a month ago, people were complaining that I was too young to be doing certain things, and now people are just okay with it because I’m grown. I don’t know why that one day made such a difference, but it really does change things for people.”
More about her amazing family work ethic: “Kim has definitely inspired the business side of me the most. It’s her work ethic. If she wants to do something, she goes out and does it. She’s really smart in that way. My mom has raised us all like that. I am definitely like that. I need to be doing some type of work all the time. If I’m not working for two weeks, I freak out. But I also love having down time with friends.”
Lucifer has input on everything: “Well, for my new lip kit, I just put in my order for how many of them I want produced from my manufacturer. I was struggling with the number to ask them to make because I was like, Do I want to make this much? No, because nobody is going to buy it. I didn’t want to order that much. But then my mom was like, ‘Kylie, people are going to want your lip kit.’ I guess sometimes that’s all I need to not get nervous.”

LMAO at the “I can’t not work for two weeks statement, or I’ll freak” from Kylie. I know she’s still practically a kid, but man. Reality check, please. Two days off in a row doesn’t happen for some people, nor does even one. But her statements on age really do make me feel bad for Kylie, even if she doesn’t feel bad for herself. No child should have to feel and act like an adult before their time.
Oh, and there’s another dumb story that just won’t stop. Tyga and Blac Chyna are still sparring over the Ferrari that Tyga pretended to buy for Kylie on her birthday (but he probably leased it). Tyga tried to send the last word to Blac Chyna over Instagram, but we’ll hear more about this silly kertuffle.

It would be more honest for you to say people don’t respect Kylie so they can say these things about her which – considering her biggest contribution to the world thus far is overly sexual photo shoots and lip kits there’s not much to respect.

@Sabrine: I don’t think it’s jealousy for most people- probably only very few people are truly jealous of Kylie or anyone in her family. Sure most of us would probably like more money, but that’s not the same as jealousy. I think it’s a combination of dislike for Kardashians (understandable), valid criticism of how Kylie and her sisters were taught to put to much value on being seen as a certain type of sexy and beautiful (also understandable) and, as Eternal Side Eye pointed out, discomfort/hatred for women who put forth an image that isn’t ‘sexually modest’. Yes, people talked about her (and others) in this way before she was an adult, and even if somebody is 99-and-3-quarters their age doesn’t determine whether or not something said about them is problematic in general, but I don’t think jealousy is the reason for most of the criticism.

Agree. There’s a lot of smoke and mirrors going on here that young girls/women don’t realize. As you said, it sets an unattainable look for them to achieve, which I think a lot of the beauty/celebrity industry is guilty of. Women are always being shown what we ‘should’ look like. From hair, makeup, nails, clothes and figure consciousness it’s a lot to maintain. If that kind of pressure was put upon men, they’d crack in no time.
Yep, right now you need fake hair because it has to be really long and perfectly styled but with no damage (real hair would get damaged from all they styling/dye by the time it was that long).
You have to have fake eyelashes to get the sexy, smokey eye look. Eyebrows perfectly waxed or tweezed to the perfect arch. A nose job to have a small, perfect symmetrical nose with no bumps that it neither too long nor too short with the perfect slop.
Then you must have no wrinkles and large full lips via injections. Then you’re almost done…now you just need a boob job (that will need to be redone every 8 years or so) and then the newest must have, the ‘brazilian butt lift’ where they suck fat out of your love handles and wasit and inject it into your butt and hips to give you a perfect hour glass shape and round bottom. It’s also important to slather on self-tanner at all times if you have *ghastly* natural pale skin.
So there you go. All you have to do to be considered an attractive female in 2015 is to change everything about yourself all the time, get regular injections, go under the knife every few years and oh yeah, be sure to slather on a thick layer of makeup lest anyone see any of your *horrid* natural features trying to poke through.

When I was 18, I had no desire to be 17 forever. I wanted to be out on my own (with my cat by my side, of course…), training to be a scientist in college and grad school and then getting a chance to do really interesting things for the rest of my life. I wanted to be a grownup. Being a kid forever was never part of the plan. I didn’t like being a kid.

I actually think she looks really uncomfortable in most of the photos. But I’m sure her various handlers and assistants were there with her so Uncle Terry didn’t have any opportunity to pull anything even if he wanted to. He wouldn’t dare mess with a celebrity though.

I remember one of the earlier keeping up eps while Kylie was still in school. Kris was driving her there and it was obvious she didn’t want to go, most teenagers dont, so she said she was being bullied and Kris completely gave up and didn’t even try to convince her.
I had a daughter who had a baby at 16. School was not her thing and so I allowed her to drop out. She had some bad years after that but eventually got her GED and turned herself around. I also had a student who made it through school for two weeks every semester (I even teased him about this) and after two weeks dropped until next semester. He eventually dropped out completely. Saw him about a year later and he had gotten his GED and was going to college on scholarships. So while Kylie dropping out was not that big of a deal, it is more a big deal that she has not moved on from the high school mentality. And if her “work” consists of making a decision of how many lip kits to produce, then if she ever loses all her money (and that is possible) she will have no skills to fall back on.

I always wonder what this family is really like, to us basic people, plastic surgery is extreme. We also have budgets and work with only a few days off instead of weeks. But plastic surgery in this family is like going to the grocery store, it’s completely normal and what she was raised knowing.. Not a big deal. I think that’s why she can’t understand why what she does is such a huge deal and how it is setting examples for the teens that watch her.
Unpredictable in this family would mean going to college, getting a job that requires more than spending hours taking selfies, and generally benefit the planet or human race in some way. Unfortunately, she is entirely predictable. Pimp Mama Kris doesn’t have a lot of creativity when it comes to selling her product.

I was kinda impressed with Kendall….I watched the last/latest season of the K’s with my younger sister. Kylie was always moaning and groaning, and dragging her feet when it came time to do ANY sort of work (even approving designs for their fashion line….all you had to do was sit and say yes/no)…..while Kendall was really into it, and basically doing what she was supposed to do i.e. show up, and not be in people’s way.
She got a leg up, due to her family name, but I think she’ll keep going. I have no clue what her modeling potential is, because I don’t really follow that, but if you just base it on her work ethic, then I think she’ll have a moderately successful career. She seems to be the most normal out of all the siblings. No drama, no obvious surgery, when she’s not working, she’s hanging out with her friends….she seems like a regular young girl to me. I’d hope that she’d do some sort of school or volunteer work…..

It may not be what she thinks is beautiful, but what she been told Is beautiful by her so called family. No one is telling her that her natural self is beautiful, that family only believe what the plastic surgeons can give them or enhance is beautiful.

There’s a difference between just wanting to be seen as attractive/sexy/pretty (and I think most people who would say that they’ve never ever wanted to be attractive or sexy at all are lying to sound either more radical or more pure/chaste. ) vs. being taught to pour all your time, energy, and everything into being beautiful and sexy, and nothing else. With Kylie, it seems to be the latter. With her parents, it seems to have all been about looks and money and nothing else. I feel sorry for her and hope that one day, she finds something to be passionate about and realize that there’s more out there.

I have been a Kylie apologist for ages and I think I may see then end of an era.
She truly is just a young girl. Terrible, self centered parents who have instilled very controversial values in her. Her sisters are a vapid and she has internalized that. Kendall, Kourtney and Rob (which is why I think he’s a mess… it was all too much) are the only ones who were able to steer a bit in the other direction. A bit.
I do think whatever work Kylie has done, has improved her face. She is very pretty. Almost exotic looking which I think is her goal. My concern is what will happen to her face in 5 years. 10 years….
Her relationship with Tyga would have been fine had she been of age. But she wasn’t. And their whole union was creepy due to that fact. No matter what anyone wants to say. “She’s so adult.”… But guess what? She’s not an adult! She’s a child. Her pictures would be fine if we haven’t seen her sexualized since she was a minor, but now… it’s still creepy to me. Tyga is an opportunist. I’m sure they have a real relationship, but he is still an opportunist.

It’s really weird looking at her, I mean, we were born in the same year and I’m a first year law student, who has major issues with social media.
When reading about her, I can’t see myself spending all my time taking pictures of myself or on snaptchat, I don’t get the appeal. Maybe it’s just because I was raised with parents who would stop me if they realised that I was doing something wrong (e.g, date a man in his 20s with a child that raps about sex and has a pr0n site, when I’m in my teens.) and I had some really amazing friends around me that helped me. But no, look at Elle/Dakota Fanning, Zendaya, Chloe Moretz ect, Kylie’s “support group” (if you can even call it that) don’t encourage her in the places where its necessary. It’s sad.
Wait how are you 18 and in law school? Where I”m from you have to do an undergrad degree before applying to Law School.
With regards to Kylie, her mother knows the only “career” this girl will have is being just like Kim. They don’t care about education and they have no talent. This is it for her. Maybe they were raised believing this is all women are good for. Who knows.
I’m in France, I’m incredibly misinformed on the American higher education system, sorry. Over here, I’m in my first year of law where everything is mostly in general. You can apply to law school as soon as you get out of high school (same with medical school) the question is whether or not you’ll survive the year and get enough credits to continue, getting through your first year without redoing it is considered a feat. Next year, I’ll be in a more precise field (private or public). As I continue, I’ll start delving more into the field of law that I choose.

@Ayra. Makes perfect sense. I’m from the midwest and there is a program here that allows students into med school right out of high school. The students go through a rigorous process to get into the program. I had one student who didn’t get in. Do you have to be chosen to get in or can anyone apply and be accepted into the program? Don’t think we have anything here that is the same for law school.
In most of Europe, I believe you chose a career right away, soyou get into law school or med school or whetever at 18.
@Franca, Yes, that’s it. There is no “undecided major”, I think that’s what you call it, where you just take the basics. You HAVE to choose something, or you can just take the year off but people rarely do it.
@Swack, some schools have an entry exam, and others have a certain number of places available and then they decide based off of your grades, location ect.. MOST universities let you apply and get accepted with no issue, the thing is that in law school for example, the exams aren’t easy, so you start out with 500 students in an amphitheater, and by February, you’ll have about 250, it’s dropouts, course switching, ect.. Medical school accepts everyone as well, but the exam is incredibly selective. As in, let’s say there’s 2000 first year students, only the top 500 will be able to continue, others redo their year in hopes to be in the top 500 and others quit.
You can also go to preparatory classes for 2 years, but it’s just to help you with the exams for smooth sailing, no diplomas. From what my friends say it’s grueling and even more selective than uni. Prep classes only want the best.

Where I live in Canada, you have to do a Bachelor’s degree first (3 or 4 year) and then apply to Law School (which is another 3 years). It takes about 6 or 7 years of schooling to become a lawyer here. Law School here is also very picky regarding which students they choose to accept. I really do wish you the best of luck !
In England you go from high school to law school..so you need just three years of college to be a lawyer -no undergrad degree. If that was true here we’d have ten million lawyers, hehe
Same in New Zealand. Straight from school you go into first year of University and enroll in Law. The first year is more genrealised and then specialised after that. Yes we have a million lawyers here too.

I mean just 3 years and you’re a lawyer? How can you possibly be ready to be a lawyer at 21? Yes, if that was the case in Canada/America we’d have way more lawyers. I mean just think of the extra cost of going to University for 6 or 7 years compared to 3 !
In Croatia there are school leaving exams which are also used for entry into universtiy, and most universities have their special exam too.
And you need a master’s degree to be able to work in any proffesion. There are virtually no jobs you can do with a BA, no matter what your major was.
So if you wan’t to be a lawyer that’s 5 years plus interships plus board exams etc. For med school it’s 6 years plus 4-5 years of specialisation.
Law, however, is not a very esteemed major. Based on how hard it’s to get in, science and IT majors are on top, law is somewhere in the middle and bussiness and things like philosophy are on the bottom.
There is even a joke – “Are you going to study something in university or is your major economics?”

@Franca, Really? That’s interesting, when you tell someone that you’re studying law here, they usually cringe and look at you as if you were crazy haha.
There’s a decent number of lawyers here too, but the success rate isn’t as great (about 30% in the first year). They usually suggest taking an extra course so you can get another diploma, DU (= diplome universitaire = university diploma) is offered to anyone will to take extra classes in Criminology ect.. Several of my friends are in their 3rd year, and on their 3rd diploma AND are on their way to getting a Bachelor’s degree. Their goal is just to do one DU a year.

They call ‘working’ vacationing at some exotic place to film their ridiculous unreality show. They paste their name on products created by somebody else. What a joke of a life!
