Tom Hardy volunteered for the BGC 9/11 fundraiser this year: Bloke Realness?

Today is the 14th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on New York, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon. Of the 2,977 people that died on that day in 2001, 67 were from the UK and commonwealth nations, most of them employed with BGC and Cantor Fitzegerald, 61 of them Eurobrokers. For years now, in London, BGC organizes a huge fundraising drive on the 9/11 anniversary. Prince Harry, Prince William and various British celebrities have joined in on the phone telemarketing/fundraising in past years. In the past, the money raised goes towards the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, although I think this year’s fundraiser benefits several charities.

This year, TOM HARDY came out for the BGC Annual Global Charity Day. He brought his pregnant wife Charlotte Riley. There were other celebrities too, like Piers Morgan, Jimmy Carr, Mollie King, Jodie Kidd, David Gandy, Samuel L. Jackson and Sir Ben Kingsley. You can see some Facebook photos of the event here. This post is just for The Bloke, because I needed some Bloke photos today.

Tom will also appear on a pre-taped episode of Alan Carr’s Chatty Man tonight in the UK. Carr asked him about Oscar buzz for Legend, with Tom saying, “Nah that always pops up doesn’t it, but I don’t think so.” Humble Bloke. He was also asked about James Bond, and he said: “Whenever I’ve seen actors talk about, or being zeroed in in any shape of form about being James Bond, their chances of being James Bond are reduced significantly about 3 million percent. So that’s it isn’t it? I will never play James.” So there you go. You know, Tom worked with Idris Elba. I want to believe those two are bloke-y friends.

The Bloke in a baseball cap. My day is complete.

  2. EN says:

Tom Hardy is such a man child judging by the pictures. Somehow I feel sorry for his wife.
But good job helping others. He looks like a very kind guy.

    • meme says:

I think his wife is a very lucky lady. He seems like a sweet man and he’s so handsome. Look at that smile!

  3. Sixer says:

He’s just gone there as a last public outing (charitable so you remember him fondly) before he commits to living out his days on the Celebitchy island. Henceforth, he shall be living in my hobbit-house. I might release the odd photo. Once we’ve sorted out satellite broadband. This may take some time.

I was thinking we could put the Sixlets in tinfoil helmets. Because we will definitely need the interwebs on Friblusix Island! The island name will get longer as we incorporate more of the confirmed residents to it. 🙂

      • Sixer says:

Oh yes. They can be the antenna bearers. That sounds like quite an appropriate title for Frisbee’s proto-religion, right? I will inform them.

Thank heavens The Bloke isn’t tall. He’ll fit perfectly into my hobbit-house. You’ll have to put up the Sixlets in yours.

      • bluhare says:

They may need to ride bicycles round the islands while wearing the helmets to generate enough current, Sixer. I hope they’re fit.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I know the Bloke will be in good hands on your island, Sixer

I must say I’m missing his dog in these pictures. His dog is awesome!

I will need to see generator output before my visit. If I can’t recharge my Kindle, I am in trouble – the airline charges for my luggage weight with all those books would be prohibitive.

(wait, was that your plan all along?)

    • laura in LA says:

How have I missed the Hardy ’til now…

Tonight, among other things, I’m watching The Drop. Tom disappears into Brooklynese, as far as I can tell. I like Dennis Lehane and love pitbulls as does Tom, it seems.

Plus, not only is he raising funds for 9-11 victims here, but wearing an LA hat – and a bowel cancer t-shirt? He can punch out Iñárritu all he likes, I’m Team Tom!

So can I come visit your island, Sixer?

While I find Tom to be very attractive, that untrimmed mustache/beard combo makes me want to vomit. Nothing sexy about a man with mustache hair hanging down into his mouth. He needs to trim that sh-t STAT.

    • annemarie says:

It’s because of his part in the series Peaky Blinders (3) of which the shooting will start very soon! i love this guy to pieces!

  5. Ginger says:

Two HOT blokey friends of my dreams!!!

  6. KB says:

Idris Elba would be such an incredible James Bond.

  7. Lilacflowers says:

Are they filming Peaky Blinders? Is that what the beard is for?

  8. j.eyre says:

Ah, good on him. I love his comments on the Oscar race and JB. Nothing but love today.
