Eminen skewers everyone in new ‘We Made You’ video

Eminen is back with a vengeance after a nearly four year hiatus and has a new album coming out on May 19 called Relapse. He’s just released the video for the first single, “We Made You,” which focuses on the absurdity of fame and celebrity. The video and song are brilliant, with Enimen mocking pop culture and making fun of stars like Sarah Palin, Ellen Degeneres, Brett Michaels, Britney Spears, Amy Winehouse, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, and Kim Kardashian.

In the video, a heavier Jessica Simpson lookalike dances near a red corvette, her stomach hanging out as she eats a cheeseburger and gropes a football player. Kim Kardashian is parodied by a dark-haired model with a huge butt which pulses and grows. Faux Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson make out in a car, Eminem rapping “Lindsay, please come back to seeing men. Samantha’s a 2 you’re practically a 10.” A plain-looking Jennifer Aniston character fawns over a guy playing a guitar. Eminem even gives advice to Britney, telling her to take her career back and “cut out the middleman.”

Jessica Simpson is said to have found her portrayal “annoying,” but Kim Kardashian has been a good sport about it, calling it “funny” and saying she’s “honored” that he picked her to mock:

“I just saw Eminem’s new video for ‘We Made You,’ and he totally spoofs me!” the reality star blogs. “It was a total surprise to me because I had no idea he was going to talk about me in the song.”

Continues Kardashian: “I think the video is so funny! I am a huge Eminem fan and find it flattering he would rap about me. He’s a bit harsh about some other celebrities, but you just have to let it go and have a sense of humor.”

“Personally, I’m honored,” she adds.

No famous face is spared in the rapper’s video of the new song, off his album Relapse (out May 19). He parodies a curvier Jessica Simpson in daisy dukes with Tony Romo, and Sarah Palin wearing a bustier and her famous glasses.

“There’s some celebrity bashing in it,” Eminem told MTV News. “I wanna say it’s not necessarily intentional bashing in it; it’s not necessarily taking deliberate shots at people…Yes, it is. What the f— am I talking about?”

[From US Magazine]

Eminen looks buff and fit in the video. There were rumors last year that he had bulked up during his absense due to a love of chain food, but he’s skinny here and even appears shirtless in a scene with a sexy Sarah Palin. If he did gain weight he lost all of it in time for his comeback. Judging from this excellent song and video, he’s definitely back.

Because guys who sing about murdering their wives and dumping them in the trunk of their car are soooo relevant. 🙄

  2. Because I Say So says:

“Brilliant?” Um, no. All this stuff has been done. He’s just jumping on a bandwagon. Not a fan of his music, but at least before he used to be somewhat original and not just taking the tabloids and putting it to music. I’ll pass.

  3. CandyKay says:

That was entertaining. Hardly ground-breaking, but entertaining. Liked the Elvis parts.

  4. Alexis says:

    Bad Bad Barf

  5. blaugrau says:

Because I Say So, I agree with you. This is just bad and silly. But sadly, it will work.

  6. flourpot says:

“taking the tabloids and putting it to music” I saw this, too. Tho it will probably work for him, not everyone is as clued as we here on Celebitchy. ^-^

  7. Jen says:

Oh Em, what happened? That was awful.

  8. Susan says:

    I looooooooooooooooooooooove me some Eminem!

  9. cherryblossom says:

Well…it wasn’t as bad as I thought, just kinda…I dunno…boring. The battle with faux Ronson was entertaining though.
On sort of a side note…what the hell did he do to his voice? He sounded like a chipmunk trying to be hardcore.

  10. Lem says:

    pst Eminem not Enimen

  11. Lem says:

Bret Michael’s hair should look so good.
I hope that song is not telling for the whole album. Not at all worth the wait. More effort goes into a JT SNL skit. Quite sad

  12. manda says:

His new song sounds like his old stuff, but worse. Like this didn’t make the cut ten years ago. Really not that good. Really disappointed.

  13. Tony says:

    Very entertaining. Thank you.

  14. Trillion says:

Just an easy way to make people talk about your video, IMO. I hope he gets skewered by someone much more adept at satire than he is. (come on Tim and Eric!) Shouldn’t be hard. He’s not without talent but is so overrated it’s difficult for me to see past that.

  15. Jack says:

Car crash at it’s best. So bad and yet I can’t stop watching it.

  16. Codzilla says:

If this is what passes for brilliance these days then we’re all f*cking doomed.

  17. tasteT says:

    I thought it was hilarious!!

I am sooo glad he slammed lumpy butt Kim Kartrashian and Brett M. was hilarious!!!

Who did he say was addicted to ritalin???

    oh, Britney Spears!!
    VERY entertaining to me.

  18. DD says:

I found the video to be stupid, overdone, the song sucked. It took a lot of energy to sit through the whole thing. I hate the way he has Dr. Dre in his video and throws a shout out to him in all his songs. It has that “look at me, I’m cool cuz Dr. Dre hangs with me” vibe to it, a little immature for a grown man in his 30s.

  19. eggy weggs says:

I need to watch the video again, I guess. I thought it was sloppy, cluttered and badly done. I won’t even start on the song, which was just…bad. Then again, I’ve never been a fan.

  20. sarcra says:

    His voice sounds horrible.

  21. tasteT says:

He shouts out to Dr. Dre because he and Dre worked on beats for the past year for this CD AND If it were not for Dre–he would not be in Music.

    He’s giving honor.

I think better music is coming but he needed something catchy and funny–instead of dark and violent as his first single.

I thought it was ironic because like the song says “We made all of those clowns”…and now we got them, crazy, psycho, and not a pretty pic like we were lead to think..

Poor Brett, Brit, Lindsay, Jessica etc.
Is it really talent??…well maybe Brett’s music but him on this whole stupid reality thing is kinda depressing and I’d rather not know what slut he is slobbering down and he wears hair extenions..

Thought it was good humor w/a touch of truth..

ps. The whole glamourizing Kim K. like she won an oscar or something, one skin flick w/Ray J and she is a STAR..

    What a world JMO

  22. becca says:

*shrug* I liked the video a lot, I thought it was very amusing. I’ve always loved it when he makes fun of American pop culture, it gives me such a good laugh

  23. Valensi says:

That Sarah Palin bit was just so incredibly nasty. Eh – I’ve seen funnier. The song’s alright, but not really that catchy. ‘Without Me’ is a lot better.

  24. Anonymous says:

This was horrible. I don’t mean aw he’s so mean to those poor celebrities, of course not. I mean there was absolutely nothing clever or witty about these lyrics, and the song itself was downright awful. Just terrible. Whoever saidhe’s just reading tabloid headlines hit it dead on– any idiot can read headlines to a lame beat and pay some floosies to dress up like celebrities. Terrible.

  25. Truck says:

Being a former professional musician myself, I was ready to open up a can and start calling people out for their opinions on songwriting…but then I actually watched/listened to it….and I got nothing. Can’t defend it at all. It’s garbage. Absolutely horrific attempt at songwriting. I’m with Codzilla – if this tune goes to the top of the charts it’s a sign that the world needs a good natural disaster to clean out some of the human detritus.

  26. yae says:

Actually when I look at the swirl of garbage I read (and sometimes comment on) on gossip sites to slow my brain down after a hardcore corporate day at the office……..this video is what it all looks like. I found it funny as hell. Hollywood is now what reading the sunday “funnys” was 20 years ago. He hit the nail on the head.

  27. yae says:

Th duel btw Sam and Spock……..omg Im crying

  28. tasteT says:

    @Jae

    Well put…

  29. b says:

    so bad…waste of time

  30. SixxKitty says:

I thought it would be more edgy, but then, it is Em and it is the first track, so…

  31. Jaclyn says:

I thought that was pretty good. Samantha is SO NOT a 2. That’s being generous. She’s more like -10 and Lindsay is a solid 8. 🙂 That is way more accurate.

  32. hi says:

update the article. its not a red corvette… its a orange charger.

  33. FF says:

How come he doesn’t seem to be mocking any men?

    Come on now.

Or is he hoping all these women will be so ‘honored’ that they’ll boink him. Keep dreaming.

    I continue to be unimpressed.

  34. kxx says:

FF that is a good point!

  35. I Choose Me says:

Is it wrong that I think the Jessica Simpson looka-like is kinda hot. *sings* I likes em round. I likes em plumpy.

  36. I Choose Me says:

BtW, liked Pink’s “Stupid Girls” video a whole lot better. I think Em’s talented but this is not his best.
