Just FYI: Russell Wilson still isn’t sleeping with Ciara. Last week, she spoke to Cosmo about their abstinence and how difficult it is to maintain. She said: “We’re hanging in there. I’m not gonna lie. I’m human, so it is not easy, especially when I look at him and I think he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen — that I’ve ever laid my eyes on, to be honest. I’m like, Look the other way! Look the other way!” Keep that in mind when you look at these photos.
Personally, I think Ciara is one of the most beautiful women out there. But her style tends to be all over the place, and she loves to wear risqué styles. A lot of people talked about her Alexandre Vauthier dress because it was one of the most revealing dresses on the Grammy red carpet. But… I like that not everything is hanging out. Yes, that slit is really, really high. But it was actually on trend for the night, because a lot of women (even Taylor Swift) were showing off their legs. As for the actual structure and design of the dress… it’s okay, not great. I think I might have liked it more if the entire dress had been sequined.
So, here’s my question: if you and your man were trying to stay abstinent, would you wear this dress?

To me, sex is just…a component that is pretty much defined by the rest of your relationship (not vice versa). I remember when I started wearing “fashion”, one of the first lessons my mom taught me was that you either do low cut or backless or slit (not that close to showing off your biscuit, but that’s another story.) Meh. It doesn’t bug me nearly as much. With a few notable exceptions last summer for the most part they’re not obnoxious with the way the talk about their choice to abstain, and she seems ‘all-in’ this relationship. She’s around Seattle a lot, and she’s a regular at his Tuesday trips to the Children’s Hospital. I like that they’re genuinely a part of each other’s lives, and that tempers a lot of the tackininess for me.
Fun fact: a friend works for a fancy company that Ciara came for a visit one day, and she said that she just looks insanely hot in person. That her body was unreal.

Are they remaining abstinent for religious reasons? If so, I have a hard time believed that the Lord approved this dress. It’s a terribly made and the structure is off. As my grandma used to say, “God don’t like ugly.” But seriously, if they are abstinent for religious reasons, even though it’s her respecting his beliefs, it strikes me as odd that you would be so religious to abstain, but would still be okay with her attire. It just seems to be cherry picking which part of religion works for you (on his part).

I’d completely forgotten Ciara until this abstinence relationship. I’ve noticed, and I may be wrong, that she’s been prancing about in nearly naked or nearly naked nude dresses since she started dating this guy. What constitutes as sex? Since it seems they are cherry picking what is appropriate (wearing very revealing clothes) and what is inappropriate (having sex) according to his religion, maybe they have a very narrow definition of what constitutes as sex. At least to me, sex is very broad and can constitute a lot of different things. There are many ways to be sexual in a relationship without doing the actual act, so I imagine that is what these two are doing at the moment. Possibly everything under the sun other than the final act, just so they can say that they are abstaining while still being sexual beings and showing off what God gave her whenever possible.
Oh, yes, the girls in high school who squawked the loudest about their virginity were the ones who “did everything but.” I’m not mocking his religion, but this whole talking about it while having his picture taken with her in that dress with his hand on her rear end is just so hypocritical. I just read somewhere that she is becoming very vocal about how difficult it is for her to be in a sexless relationship. I genuinely think that 1. she’s overcompensating because she’s starting to feel unsexy because her man won’t sleep with her, or 2. she’s trying very hard to persuade him to finally make the move.

I must have a high tolerance for showing skin, because aside from the slit I thought it was mild. And once we stopped getting Church quotes from Russell, I actually really like these two and don’t mind the abstinence talk. Especially since Russell’s first marriage flamed out because during the season he’s so focused on football that his marriage completely withered (not to mention Ciara’s checkered relationship past) I can respect that they’re taking their time (the building of their brand probably helps too). I grew up in the exact same faith that Russell Wilson seems to adhere to and that dress would not cut it at all, of course. I think what everyone here has been saying about Ciara feeling undesirable etc and trying to convince Russell to propose is true. But I think the reason he hasn’t already is because in his faith it is imperative he marries a true believer and he wants to make sure she is one before he takes the plunge. Just to impress how huge it would be for him to marry a non-believer in the faith he belongs to – I left the religious culture I was brought up in in my late teens because it made me miserable, and eventually married an atheist. My parents were heartbroken and devastated because in their minds I will go to hell for leaving the faith and marrying a non-believer. Nothing is more important to these believers than their faith/God. Russell Wilson’s first wife seems to have shared his religious beliefs which makes it even more shocking she cheated on him.
I also think being married to someone like him would be a nightmare, Ciara would always be a distant third to first his God and then his football. But she probably thinks the lifestyle and the money makes it worth it.
