Blake Lively in Michael Kors at the NYFW show: amazing & contractual?

FFN_Lively_Blake_INI_021716_51973334

These photos of Blake Lively look like they’re from a professional photoshoot, right? Like, Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar did an editorial of a blonde glamazon catwalking her way down a New York street. When really, these are just run of the mill NYFW street photos. Blake was heading in to the Michael Kors show on Wednesday, and she was very, very attentive to the waiting paparazzi. She picked the right ensemble for it too, because these are the best photos of Blake in a really long time. She looks leggy and gorgeous and her outfit is perfect.

Blake gave the paps so many glamour shots that it’s actually sort of suspicious. Blake has represented Gucci and Chanel in the past, so now people are wondering if a Michael Kors campaign is coming her way. Here’s my evidence: 1) so far, the Kors show is the only one Blake has done this entire fashion week; 2) I think she’s currently contract-less, her contracts for Chanel and Gucci have run out; 3) she was even shilling for Kors on social media; 4) she’s actually never done a full-blown clothing contract before, and if the price was right, I could see her saying yes to Michael Kors. Her Gucci contract was for perfume, and her Chanel contract was for purses. So… would Blake + Michael Kors be a good fit? I actually think it would be sort of perfect. Oh, and #5: Blake chatted with the New York Times at the Kors show. Oh, she is SO getting a contract. Some highlights:

She brought her mom to the show: “Yes, she is a fan of Michael. But I am a massive fan of hers more than anything else. It’s wonderful to do fun things with your mom whatever age you are. She used to make all of our clothes as we were growing up, and was very good at it, too. So I jumped at the chance to bring her along.”

Her agenda for the next year: “A lot of press junkets. I have three movies coming out. “The Shallows” is a shark attack movie, which was a hoot to shoot, although I had some seriously challenging stunts. Then one called “All I See Is You,” which is about a woman losing her eyesight at a young age, so quite a challenging experience for a whole different set of reasons. And then lastly a Woody Allen movie.

She’s been wearing Michal Kors for years: “I don’t have a stylist, so that forces me to pick up the phone and call designers individually and often build a relationship with them, given there is no middle man. What I think of them personally tends to shape who I choose to wear. And there is no one in the business more fun and generous and thoughtful than Michael.”

Whether she’ll see Michael Kors after the show: “Hopefully. Then its back to the hotel to order a lot of room service. Because it’s Michael who will be paying!”

[From The NY Times]

“Because it’s Michael who will be paying!” Yep. I mean, obviously, she and Michael Kors are going to announce something in the next few days/weeks, but beyond that… it’s like Blake is flat-out admitting that she only came to the Kors show because she’s getting paid. That happens a lot, by the way. If you’re a Professional Fashion Girl, you can get paid to attend fashion shows. Some designers will even fly you in to Paris for fashion week. And I think some Fashion Girls get extra money if they’re exclusive, like Blake just going to ONE show.

    Sick body!!!

    • Liv says:

You know, she’s not my cup of tea and her nose pre-nose-job was pretty impressive, but her body is indeed sick. Lucky girl.

      • Grant says:

LOL @ the impressive nose comment!!

      • margie says:

Hopefully this isn’t deemed as too mean, but I feel like her nose could have been made just a hair more…delicate? It looks so chunky in some of these photos. She is more gorgeous than I will ever be, I will admit this. But I often see her nose and wish it had a different bridge/shape. Her body is bangin, though, and the hair and outfit are amazing.

    • Carol says:

If MK partnering with BL results in outfits like that, she should definitely get a long-term contract. She looks great, and that dress is beautiful!

      • OrigialTessa says:

He makes clothes for actual humans. He and Calvin Klein. The rest are making clothes for 6′ tall coat hangers, I swear.

      • Dani says:

Agree, Tessa. I love MK and CK clothes, shoes etc. Everything is nice but also practical and normally sized.

      • Trashaddict says:

This is the best thing I’ve seen her in. Matches her skin tone, absolutely perfectly tailored. Most of the other stuff I’ve seen her in lately is WTF? This is a hit.

    • NYer says:

…with a lot of help from Spanx, trust me.

      • Almond shake says:

She looks amazing, both body and face. On the Spanx, they all wear it, don’t they? I saw some pics of her filming her shark film in Aust and she just had a bikini on. She doesn’t really need the Spanx. Insane body, thanks in part to implants as well.

    • annaloo. says:

It’s nice. Remember the days when the sites used to complain that everything she wore was too tight and too short? This is a nice change.

    • enuff said says:

Gorgeous look…head to toe and she looks happy! Perfection!

  2. Jegede says:

Her hair looks better this shade.

I’m not sure all this means anything though.
Lively and Kors have been pals way back since Gossip Girl and she has attended his fashion shows in the past.

Kors is actually one of the few she usually makes a point to attend.

  3. Belle Epoch says:

So that dress is by Michael Kors? What happened? It’s all kinds of awesome.

    • Kitten says:

YES. It reminds me of waaaaaaay back when I used to actually like Michael Kors.

      • Bridget says:

When Kors is ‘on’ he makes some incredible, classic clothing with beautiful clean lines. He has a real ‘touch’ for pairing the perfect (and sometimes unexpected) color with his wearer – and look at how everything perfectly fits Blake. That said, I kind of wonder if she’s Kors customer demographic, and I also wonder if she wants to rep his brand; she went with Chanel and Gucci because Blake held out for a high fashion brand, and while Kors is respectable, it’s not Chanel.

      • Kitten says:

“That said, I kind of wonder if she’s Kors customer demographic”

I don’t really think she is, right?
I always think of Kors as being for older women. OMG I just realized that I’m pretty much an “older woman”. 🙁

  4. Danielle says:

I think Michael kirsch is a better fit than chanel for blake.

    • Calcifer says:

Love it, ‘Michael Kirsch’. Suntan-wise they certainly are a good fit.

    • Mia4s says:

It’s a step down (or more) from Gucci and Channel but, let’s be honest, she was overreaching to begin with.

Ten bucks say one or both of the non-Woody Allen movies go VOD. I applaud her efforts but her moment has mostly passed.

      • Sam says:

The Shallows is being released by Sony. It’s not going to VOD. Her other non-Woody film is an indie film as it is so yes that one could go VOD because that’s how a lot of indie films have been released lately. I think the fact that her husband just got a huge hit on his hands and she’s loved by the fashion industry is just going to allow her to parade herself around even more. Her time has not come and gone. She’s not Jennifer Lawerence but how many actresses these days are.

      • Scarlet Vixen says:

She just starred in “Age of Adeline” which did pretty well (it definitely made a profit) and she carries that film. Like, she’s in pretty much every single scene. I thought she did quite well, too. She’s never going to be a Meryl Streep, but I think she knows her brand and her limitations.

      • Misti says:

@Sam – Why bother explain? Her moment has apparently passed over and over and over again. Same with Ryan. Their prospects are done and both should stay home and knit. sarc off//
But what would those who dislike them passionately yet follow up on them devotedly (complete with every slur & rumor) talk about then?

      • Almond shake says:

Yeah, I was going to mention AOA, which actually had a pretty good run at the cinema. I was ready to write off her leading-woman status like Misti too but she’s actually made some smart choices. Her next two films (shark and blind lady) seem to have small hit potential, like AOA – films that guys can see with their GFs and chicks can see with their friends. And of course, Deadpool just broke about 200 BO records. RR is box office poison no more, maybe?

  5. Lora says:

    She looks awesome!!

  6. Size Does Matter says:

She looks great, but different somehow. She reminds me of Emma Thompson and Emma Roberts. All the Emmas! Maybe it’s the updo.

I remember her wearing a previous Michael Kors 70s Malibu Barbie look involving a headband. Guess they’re making it official.

    • Kitten says:

ITA. She looks beautiful but something seems different. Agree that it could be the hair.

I normally hate head-to-toe nude (barf) but this outfit looks really elegant and sophisticated on her. I think it would have been a home run with different-colored shoes (maybe beige?). I still find it a tad too matchy-matchy for my taste.

  7. Jayna says:

Gorgeous body, and that dress looks fantastic on her.

  8. OSTONE says:

She is very pretty and looks espectacular. Hair + Leg envy for sure.

  9. Sam says:

She looks amazing in these photos!! Her make up, her hair, her body…what is going on? Just last week she looked like a carrot with all that make up caked on her face and now she looks like this. Very few celebs look better with less/more natural looking make up. Just goes to show how gorgeous she actually is.

    • ell says:

she got rid of much of the fake tan i think, and she looks much more natural now and glowy now. also that nude shade of the dress fits well with her current hair shade, which is lovely btw, i might go that shade myself.

      • Kitten says:

When will people realize that fake tans just don’t look good. I think they actually age people.

  10. Nancy says:

I was just starting to wake up and she put me back to sleep.

  11. Barrett says:

She looks great but I try and remind myself she has breast implants and a nose job. I often can’t unsee the nose job. I can easily imagine her w a big nose!

She’s like the hot girl who us ordinary people must remember was born genetically blessed but not perfect. Her family is in show business and the cash to enhance her body came early!

    • ell says:

if it makes you feel better, a good chunk of models and actresses get some plastic surgery at the start of their career. i was modelling a bit when i was a teen, and the agencies often recommend you to get a slight boob job and tweak your face just a bit. if you’re modelling it matters a lot how photogenic you are, and being photogenic is also a question of proportion of your face/body, if i’m making any sense.

    • Nancy says:

Barrett: If you google her, the broad nose picture always comes up. She looks like an entirely different person. I’m not a fan of plastic surgery, unless it’s for medical reasons, not to beautify one’s self. When I see an actress with a larger nose or some imperfection who looks natural, I am always so impressed that she didn’t find the need to succumb to society’s version of beauty. Have a feeling I’m in the minority on this belief, however. Just to throw it out there, if Blake looked as she did before the surgery, would she be the starlet she is today…would Ryan have looked twice, or is he also altered somehow, seems like most of Hollywood is.

    • kai says:

I watched “Accepted” the other day and was super distracted by her nose everytime she was in a scene. (Nevermind that her role was useless and she’s such a one-trick-pony) Because I was so used to her new face, her old nose looked fake to me, like Nicole Kidman in “THe Hours”, almost comical. I am apparantly so used to these nose-job-noses that a normal one looks weird to me. My nose is kind of big. I would probably look like a monster in a movie.

    • Polly says:

The way people go on about it you’d think this woman was hideous before the nose job, I think she was still pretty gorgeous. This shade of nude is perfect on her.

  12. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Knockout. She looks so beautiful and good for MK for waking up a little bit after years of being a total snooze.

I guess everybody in Hollywood is going to work with Woody Allen at some point. She decides what clothes to wear based on her opinion of the person, but she works with Allen? I don’t get it, and I guess I never will. It makes me queasy to see a picture of him.

    • ell says:

that bothers me though. i understand they need to work, but everytime some actor works with allen i’m uncomfortable. maybe because it’s a professional setting they can brush it aside, but it’s still something i side eye.

    • Mimz says:

Agree, agree, and .. agree. Well the thing about working for Woody I think is the fact that :
      A) Unlike Terry Richardson, for instance, he (apparently) doesn’t try his nasty stuff with his cast (I might be wrong)
      B) He really makes careers. Actors and especially actresses in a woody allen movie often – not always – get great accolades or at least more acting credibility. And we all know Blake needs some acting credibility.
I am one of the few who actually likes her and her acting doesn’t offend me at all. Adaline was very good IMO.

      • Erinn says:

        I’m with you Mimz.

It makes me so upset, but the reality is, Allen seems to at least act professionally with the cast (maybe because they’re too old for him?) and people still respect his work. I wish already established actors wouldn’t work with him – but I can’t blame some of the newer to the scene ones for wanting a ‘sure thing’. It’s a shame.

And I like Blake too – and I’ve said it before, but I liked her website just fine as well.

  13. Cynthia says:

She looks AMAZING! Also it looks like her career is back on track after the failure of her antebellum nostalgia blog. Good for her!

  14. tracking says:

    Lovely!

  15. Lucy2 says:

She looks amazing, and the dress is awesome on her.

  16. Patricia says:

Oh wow. What a bod. She’s grown into such a gorgeous woman and I’m loving it.

  17. Sam says:

By the way I totally agree about the contract thing. I think it’s been brewing for months though. When the Hollywood Reporter did their issue on fashion in Hollywood Kohrs and Lively were paired up. I know that they’ve been buddy buddy for years which just furthers the speculation. Michael has been a Blake stan since she got into the fashion world and Blake a known fashionista attending only one show? We all know that’s not her style. And Blake is at a point in her career were she can make money off of her fashion choices and still make movies. The question is when will this announcement be made.

  18. ell says:

she looks lovely, but those boobs are not her boobs. she went much bigger recently (not criticising btw, i’m pro surgery if it makes one happy, as long as they’re safe).

i don’t get these fashion contracts sometimes; isn’t the smart thing to do to get people who are up and coming and popular at the moment? blake hasn’t really done much in ages.

    • Sam says:

Blake Lively isn’t a big actress but in the fashion world designers foam at the mouth for her. I mean why wouldn’t they. She can wear a garbage bag and make it look amazing.

    • Alyce says:

I don’t think she got new boobs. I think it’s her old (enhanced but still awesome) boobs plus breast milk from the baby.

Boobs aside, looks gorgeous. I want her hair!

  19. ldub says:

Yeah. This is definitely a good look for her.

  20. Prairiegirl says:

Great look, definitely contractual and so what? What’s she gonna do with her time? She can’t act. So.

  21. Neelyo says:

I think she is a good match for Kors’ brand.

  22. Liberty says:

I think she looks amazing, though I am not really a Kors fan and have no real opinion on her one way or another — she just strikes me as the average workman actress but at least she is trying to stay in the game be it via acting, or modeling, or her recent lifestyle site (which wasn’t a bad idea, just not the best executed creative approach. Like, 60% of the way there). She’ll get this or another contract.

  23. Fiorella says:

LOVE Blake and she looks good in the face and hair but I’m not into the vibe of outfit, too early nineties wedding?

  24. Betti says:

She looks great here, her best look in a long time. When I saw the first shot I was reminded of a young Emma Thompson, never saw the resemblance before. It might be the slight hair colour change, don’t want to think she’s gone under the knife.

  25. Sarah01 says:

This whole look is right up my alley, love everything about it. Her body is insane. I have some Micheal Kors pieces, love the fact he does elegant, quality and classy at accessible prices.

  26. littlemissnaughty says:

Good god, she looks absolutely gorgeous, that outfit looks like it made for her.

I’m completely amazed that she can make me forget anything negative that has happened in her career. The nude pics, the business failure … unbelievable.

    • ell says:

the nude pics weren’t negative though, that was something horrible that happened to her. i can’t believe that back when her pics came out there were people actually blaming her, and i’m glad most had changed their minds when it happened to jlaw.

  27. Misti says:

Blake looks ace. Naomie Harris who was also there, looked beautiful as well.

  28. HK9 says:

She looks beautiful. While I’ve gotten tired of the “nude” look because it tends to wash out the complexion, this looks wonderful on her.

  29. gillian says:

The nude color look doesn’t do it for me, but she’s such a pretty woman it doesn’t seem to matter.

  30. Armenthrowup says:

    Gorgeous!

  31. kri says:

I want those shoes right now. I want them bad.

  32. sherry says:

    She looks fabulous!

  33. meme says:

She looks AMAZING! I love that outfit. Michael Kors designs gorgeous clothes

  34. Kk says:

I think this is a good example of right dress on right person. That nude would look crappy on a lot of people but is perfection on her.

  35. I Choose Me says:

VA-va-voom. Nude is not my fave colour by any stretch but the silver leaf embellishments elevate it. Also helps that it’s a great fit and her body is amazing. Her styling is on point as well.

  36. Lama Bean says:

I would want this whole outfit if I wasn’t black. Nude isn’t really nude on black people. She’s killing it though.

  37. anon says:

She looks AMAZING but her mouth looks weird. Lip injections maybe? It could be just the photos though

  38. Grant says:

    Sweet Jesus, she looks sublime.

  39. Bridget says:

She looks really great here though I wish she’d stop with the “I don’t have a stylist”. Technically, no. But when you get outfits directly from the costume designer from your show, when the fashion houses you’re contracted to work with send you entire head to toe outfits, and when your e-commerce site dresses you, that’s having people style you.

  40. jammypants says:

I actually quite like her and she’s stunning in that outfit.

  41. maggie says:

I like the outfit but she could be anyone.

  42. JFresh says:

It reminds me of the beige dress Dakota Johnson wore to a recent red carpet event. So this is a trendy color now I take it? I liked both dresses btw. Would they work on any other skin hue I wonder….

  43. Camille says:

She looks gorgeous. And yes, she really does have one of the best figures in Hollywood (BL truly does have a ‘bangin body’, unlike other actresses that get lauded that I could name..).

  44. Oxy says:

Blake and Michael actually go way back (around the start of Gossip Girl actually). And she rarely goes to fashion shows; the only ones she consistently went to over the years were Chanel and Michael Kors (for the last few years it’s been mainly just MK). Even with her Gucci contract she only ever went to one Gucci runway show.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up making the partnership official.

  45. caitie says:

Blake looks gorgeous, i want her legs.

Something has changed with her face though, I think she’s had her lips done.

She is still wearing fake tan/skin finisher just a lighter shade.
