Louis Tomlinson is lawyering up for a custody battle with his baby-mama Briana

louis2

In late January, Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth welcomed their son Freddie Reign Tomlinson. Louis and Briana were “together” briefly last year, and their fleeting affair produced an unplanned pregnancy, despite what the 1Ders wanted to believe. While Louis and his people tried to put a bow on the story and pretend that Louis and Briana were going to co-parent and everything was fine, they couldn’t keep up the charade. By the time Briana gave birth, Louis was already openly dating another woman and it was widely believed that Briana was not happy with the financial arrangements Louis was making for her. He reportedly bought her a modest home in Calabasas and she’s getting some money. But she wants more. And she’s withholding access to Freddie until she gets it.

Louis Tomlinson has lawyered up to wage a custody war, because he says his baby mama is not letting him see their kid … TMZ has learned. Sources connected with Louis tell TMZ, the One Direction singer claims Briana Jungwirth has gotten greedy and wants money … and lots of it. He claims she’s using their 1-month-old son, Freddie Reign, to leverage a bigger payday.

It’s a surprising turn … Louis got Briana a 3 bedroom home in Calabasas and he’s renting a $21 million home in L.A. to be close to Freddie. Louis has not gotten a DNA test but says there’s no doubt he’s the dad … they dated exclusively during the period in which she got pregnant. We’re told Louis is gunning for an order forcing Briana to give him some custodial rights, including significant access to his son.

I don’t get the “I’m not going to take a paternity test” thing. Like, what’s the point of taking that (arbitrary) stand? Despite the PR attempts, we all know that Louis and Briana just had some brief relationship and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they were both sleeping with other people around the time of conception. And if Louis wants to fight about this legally, I suspect he will have to take a paternity test at some point. I also suspect that Briana simply wants more money and she will be sorely disappointed if Louis does take this to court.

Well, this is going to end well./s. Is it crazy that Louis sounds like the reasonable one here? He owned up, provided a nice home for them, is paying child support without whining, and let lawyers sort it out from the get go. It could just be the press doing it to flame the hard core fans over this but she sounds like she’s in need of some mentoring from a real golddigger.

It’s a nice change from the usual deadbeat, non-visiting, having nothing to do with their child variety that we see most often. I applaud him for how he’s stepped up, especially considering this whole thing looks like a one nighter that went sideways, haha.

I’m always entertained by gold-diggers who have hustle, so I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think this was amusing to me. I just didn’t expect her to start this early. ( I know, i know…I’m a terrible person)

Stop naming your kids Reign, King, Royal, Pharaoh, just stop.

  3. SpareRib says:

Poor little one in the middle of all this 🙁

  4. BendyWindy says:

Going to court may work in her favor, financially.

    • swak says:

May or may not. Where I live there is a formula based on income and what you pay out each month. Both parents are considered as well as how much time is spent with each parent. That being said, she needs to get a job if she doesn’t have one. And it is never okay to with hold a child from one of the parents because you are greedy.

  5. QQ says:

well, this took no time at all, little baby probably still smells like fresh placenta and this is already a thing

  6. Evie says:

I’m highly surprised he hasn’t taken a paternity test. I would have thought his People (management, agents, lawyers, whatever) would have strongly encouraged him to have one done before he agreed to any financial obligations, especially with his level of fame.

    • lucy2 says:

I agree, I’m surprised too. I don’t know why he wouldn’t just to be sure.

I feel like this guy will end up broke in a few years.

  7. anniefannie says:

I hate when either a mother or father withholds time with a child and/or uses it as leverage.
(obviously unless abuse is involved) I think it speaks volumes about their character. He’s in for a long haul….

    • lem says:

agreed. i currently have a custody case where mom is witholding baby until dad pays support. the issue was that a support order/agreement wasn’t in place, and she came up with some arbitrary number he had to pay.

    • Otaku Fairy says:

Agreed. Very selfish and immature. I hope this isn’t true (it is a predictable rumor that could be made up any time a famous guy has a baby) but it easily could be true.

  8. Sam says:

In many jurisdictions, paternity tests are now standard in custody cases, since obviously, if a man is proven not to be the dad, the case is moot and the court can move it off the docket. So he might not have a choice in taking one. And if he is certain, there’s no harm in it – it’ll just confirm what he already knows. Unless, of course, he has a sneaking suspicion otherwise but doesn’t want to risk it.

It sort of comes off as a woman scorned (but obviously, that’s just from what’s reported here). He pays for her housing. I presume he’s also probably footing other costs, since she would not be employed right now or on maternity leave. She’s entitled to child support, of course. I’m not really sure what more she feels she should be getting.

    • swak says:

Where I live, unless you are married to the person the father’s name cannot go on the birth certificate without a paternity test. This prevents the woman from just naming anyone as the father.

  9. lucy2 says:

Only a month old and they’re already fighting over custody? Yikes.
Whatever they need to work out financially, it’s wrong to deny him time with his kid.

  10. Loo says:

Maybe he hasn’t asked for a paternity test because he knows that the kid is his. I commend him as I hate when men pretend that they don’t know if the kid is there’s or not and imply that the woman is a “slut” to prove their point.

Now this girl is ridiculous on the money front. The child was obviously unplanned and they weren’t even in a relationship, she doesn’t deserve a lot of money. She needs to get off her butt and get a job.

  11. JRenee says:

This looks like trouble. It’s child support, not mom support, sheesh!

  12. Robin says:

I’m surprised he’s not taking a paternity test, and if I were his lawyer, I would advise him to do so. They “dated exclusively” for a very short time, if reports are to be believed, and since conception dates aren’t always easy to determine, it’s possible he’s not the father. She certainly didn’t take long to up the payout demands.

  14. lunchcoma says:

He should take a paternity test for the sake of everyone involved. Some of the worst custody cases I’ve seen are ones where paternity wasn’t disputed at infancy, but then was raised as an issue when the child was older and could understand what was going on.

  15. Ash says:

I think they already did the paternity test, in utero, and they did that before Louis announced he was the father. I don’t believe for a minute that he just steadfastly believes it’s his kid.

  16. serena says:

Another gold digger story. It was really predictable.

  17. Alex says:

Gosh I didn’t see THIS coming from a mile away.
Either way Louis will have to take a paternity test now because if it goes to court its step one before anything is even decided. Either way withholding the baby is not a good look when they had an amicable agreement ironed out. The judge is not going to look favorably on that at all

  18. Lex says:

This is one thing I really dislike about golddiggers (male or female)…

She got pregnant (they both contributed to that, yes), she decided to keep the baby (he probably didn’t have much say). He bought her a house (under no obligation to do that!) and is already giving her money. What did she do before the baby? Did she work? He should absolutely not have to support her – he should be supporting his child. If that means helping a little with her rent too because he’s a nice guy, sure. But in no way should she be able to do nothing and expect to be bankrolled. That’s disgusting.

    • Betti says:

At the time the rumours were that it was her family that were not happy with the financial arrangement, not her, Her mother (a former actress) is the fame/gold digger here – it was her parents who were shopping the story around and her mother was giving interviews to the press about her acting career. It sounds like she’s likely being influenced by them and i don’t think the 1D boys are as wealthy as people think.

  19. skedaddle says:

He doesn’t need to take a paternity test. He signed a declaration of paternity. Why would he need to take a paternity test while he’s doing custody agreements when he has already established legal paternity by signing that? That document trumps paternity tests. He’s not even allowed to ask for one now unless he wants to go through a bunch of complicated legal processes.

IMO TMZ is just harping on about that because they’re a bunch of misogynistic assholes who would LOVE for the story to be “Briana traps Louis into paying her money–and it’s not even his kid!!!” Idk, this whole story is obnoxious. what if she’s asking for more money? She’s not He’s worth like 50 million dollars and they don’t even have a set child support and custody agreement yet? Why wouldn’t he have set that before the kid was even born? That’s on his bad decisions, tbh. If she’s withholding the kid from him though, that’s seriously messed up. I don’t think she is though, based on his statements about how much time he spends with him +the source of all this being TMZ. They may get facts right, but they do not hold back from spinning everything to look more salacious (esp by blaming the women involved) for controversy.
