As we discussed yesterday, Kim Kardashian went a Yeezy-style Twitter rant on her haters. On Monday, Kim posted a nude selfie on her social media, and people understandably reacted (since she just did it for attention anyway). Some of those reactions came from Bette Midler, Piers Morgan and Chloe Grace Moretz. Kim name-checked all three of them in her rant. Some thought the flavor was off, and that Kanye West or Khloe Kardashian might have been controlling Kim’s Twitter briefly. Kim wants you to know that she can do Twitter rants too:

So, there you go. Let Kim be Kim. Some of the most insulting tweets were sent to Bette Midler, who actually just tweeted a rather mild statement about how Kim loves to show off her body and we’ve seen it all before. Kim trolled Midler, telling her to send nudes, and Kim also tweeted “hey @BetteMidler I really didn’t want to bring up how you sent me a gift awhile back trying to be a fake friend then come at me.” Bette had a response:

Which is sort of classy. Seriously, Bette’s comment was so mild and Kim’s overreaction was so extra, I sort of feel like Bette is rolling her eyes at Kim now.
Speaking of eye-rolls, Miley Cyrus also wants you to pay attention. She Instagram’d a Kimoji (the one of Kim’s cartoon butt) and included this message:
Dear women, you ALL are acting tacky AF! Why don’t we overly (myself included) fortunate women come together and try to create and bring jobs to other women in desperate need of them so they can support not only THEMSELVES but their families! #happyinternationalwomensday can we all put the c–tiness aside for one f–king day and love / celebrate one another! Men don’t have to get naked for attention, and that’s part of the problem. Sadly, the K’s embody the notion that a woman’s primary purpose is to be decorative. That’s what they do, that’s what they’re all about, and it sucks.
Hmm although there are basic sexist differences between what men and women are “allowed” to show. Men are frequently topless and noone seems to care (I do – I dont want to see that) but if a woman is topless she’s anti feminist and showing her bits to get attention?

Different sects of feminism disagree with each other. The same way political candidates within the same party disagree.
I agree with the section about body shaming, sort of. It sucks she’s a giant hpocrit and shamed Rob. The thing is, it’s never ok. It’s not ok even when the other person is a hypocritical ass hat who has done it to others.
In this case, shame Kim for being an unquenchably thirsty girl. Shame her for her hypocrisy. Shame her for her bullying behaviour. Shame her for her low level clap backs. There’s tons of ammunition.
Do not shame her for her choice to show her body or how she uses it. That opens the door for other women to be shamed because they weren’t ‘good enough’. I’m sick of people applying rules only when it benefits them or its someone they like.

Similar to Taylor swift being mocked for her songs. If people think the way you make money has joke potential why not? Life would be better with fewer jokes? 🙁

Did anyone really think Kim’s tweets were funny though? To me it just seemed like she showed her true colors . But I absolutely loathe the Kardashians, so there is nothing anyone could say to them that would make me feel even the slightest bit of sympathy.
No they weren’t funny. I watched TMZ last night and they showed her tweets and acted like they were funny. But they didn’t have everyone comment like they do others, so it makes me think it was a PMK sponsored bit. Harvey just showed her tweets and said they were funny but they really weren’t, they were lame. See Amber rose for good clapbacks, hehe.
As others have said, none of this was slut shaming, so people need to stop with that. Kim and her whole family are attention vaccuums whose only purpose and goal in life is attention and money. Some people can’t take either Bette, if she could she wouldn’t be caught photo editing her pics every day. Her weak clapback at you was her way of trying to edit another situation. She posted a ‘hot’ selfie and was surprised when all she got was mockery in return. Even with her aggressive tweets it amused me how both Bette and Piers cut right through the BS and left her having to defend herself as ‘funny’.
As for Miley, her hypocrisy is just ridiculous. Surely she didn’t forget tweeting that photo of Sweeting from days of her addiction?
Kim would be funny if she replied something like “but I already showed my x rays”. But no, she had to slam BT’s age. Like, you know, geting old is funny and going to bed early is lame and not hip and cool.
This is like the 5th time Bette’s made ‘jokes’ about young celebrities bodies. I think a lot of the jokes about her naked selfie were along the lines of “we have all seen you naked many times now, Kim, if you want attention you are going to have to do something else this time.” If a woman wants to post a naked pic, I don’t care, especially is it’s her MO. However, Kim’s timing was suspect and it came off as thirsty af. Kanye was getting lots of attention, Kylie is surpassing her in popularity, Rob and Blac Chyna are getting attention, and her dearly departed dad is getting talked about. She put out the Saint pic, but needed even more attention, so she put out an old, heavily altered naked pic. That’s the joke, that’s what’s desperate. I didn’t find Bette’s tweet nasty or shaming at all, but I wish people wouldn’t give her the attention she so desperately craves.

It’s seems the two least influential people in the area of feminism felt the need to put themselves front and center as if either is a paragon of feminism or success based on sheer talent. Everybody knows why Miley should take a seat, but I’d like to remind Better Midler that she rose to fame literally shaking her boobs for the sailors back in the 70’s. She was never a great voice or even a particularly good entertainer all ’round – she got attention and fandom by shimmying around on a stage for horny soldiers over seas who hadn’t seen a woman outside of the military for months or years. She was all cleavage and bounce. I guess she figures because she didnt’ actually take her clothes off, it was different for her, but I see no difference whatsoever especially taking into account the times. It was a different era, where what she was doing was just as controversial as Kim’s nude selfie is today. It was only after Johnny Carson rocketed her to legitimate heights of fame by having her as a regular guest on the Tonight Show, that she stopped the ridiculous boob shenanigans and became a self-proclaimed torch singer. But let’s not forget, how she actually started out. I see the pot calling the kettle black.
Miley was a kid made famous by the Disney machine. Bette Midler started out singing in gay bath houses with Barry Manilow as her piano player, if I remember correctly. She did USO shows overseas when many performers and regular Americans were not supporting the troops who were so far from home. She was funny and entertaining and “her girls” were part of the show. This was the ’70s not the ’50s. Modesty was not big. Mini skirts and short shorts were hanging on from the ’60s. Even if you don’t agreed she has talent, she was a hard working comedian/singer for all these years. To compare her to someone famous for being peed on in a porn movie and for extensive plastic surgery and selfies isn’t fair. I generally love your comments and the information you bring here, but I disagree on this one.
