The Academy of Country Music Awards were held last night in Las Vegas. It was a big night for Jason Aldean, Chris Stapleton and yes, Miranda Lambert. Even though there are plenty of rumors about Miranda alienating a lot of people in the country music community, she’s still a big deal to country music fans and professionals, it would seem. Much like her ex, Miranda moved on from last year’s divorce very quickly. She started up with Anderson East a few months after the divorce from Blake Shelton, and last night was their coupled-up debut on the ACM red carpet. Miranda wore this super-low-cut Christian Siriano in butter. While I think she looks good – she looks great, actually – I can still feel waves of discomfort coming off of her. Probably because Blake Shelton surprised everyone by crashing the opening monologue?
I sometimes wonder if Nicole Kidman misreads the red carpet when she’s attending these country music awards shows as the “wife of.” Like, she usually dresses like she’s attending the Golden Globes or something. Her gown last night was Alexander McQueen. It’s okay, but it seems like a weird choice for this show.
Katy Perry looked like Country Music Barbie in this Jeremy Scott ensemble. She performed with Dolly Parton – they did Dolly’s “Coat of Many Colors,” and you can see the performance here. Dolly looked amazing, as always.
Carrie Underwood wore Davidson Zanine, but per usual, she had a few costume changes. She also premiered her new single “Church Bells” at the show.
I can’t find the ID on Kacey Musgraves’ dress, but this woman always has the oddest style. This dress isn’t bad or anything, but it’s just not what I would have expected from her.

Miranda looks fantastic.
She looks amazing. For a while she lost a lot of weight and was not looking energized, happy, or her usual herself. Maybe that was due to he marriage troubles. Right now it looks like she is healthy, eating regularly, and is at the perfect size for her body type. I love her curves and this dress accentuates all of them at the right places. She should try to maintain her current weight.
Team Miranda! Mostly because the whole Blake and Gwen thing is terrible and saccharine, and Miranda rocks my Spotify.

Yeah, I make fun of any guy using obvious make-up on a red carpet, but it isn’t really fair that pasty gals are allowed to enliven their faces a bit and this guy is left looking like a slightly thawed corpse. I mean, I could see how he could be good looking in certain warm lighting situations.
Apart from looking really young, I think he’s quite attractive. But then againg, I usually like pasty guys.

I mean, it could be as simple as him having a cold, though. I agree he doesn’t look good – but I wouldn’t jump to substance dependency right away when it’s still cold/flu season.
I really like Carrie’s hair length/style in that picture. I wish I could have my hair like but my hair is too thick/frizzy to do anything above my shoulders.
Nicole looks lovely but ridiculous next to her husband. Or maybe he’s the one who looks ridiculous next to her? Hard to say.
And I know nothing about Miranda, lovely as she looks, or her guy but something about him strikes me as high maintenance. I guess it’s the crunchy curls.

I’m vaguely offended by Katy Perry. It feels as though she’s mocking the whole thing with that outfit and I know I’m probably being ridiculous, but still. It really irritates me.

Meeeee tooooooo!!!! I’m not even a huge fan of country music (well, except for Chris Stapleton. He’s amazing), but respect the fact you’re singing a song with an American icon! Or go back to singing about your skintight jeans somewhere else.

Miranda didn’t leave much to the imagination with that dress. Take a look at my boobs. To me it has to be embarrassing to one year be so omg I’m so in love with this man then the next, well let’s try it again with somebody else. But I guess that’s how it goes in their business. I will leave it at that.
To be fair – I don’t think she and Blake actually spent all that much time together. Probably a lot easier to move on when you weren’t spending a normal day in and day out kind of life together. And the way he’s been parading Gwen around, I’d actually say Miranda is a bit more sedate in comparison.

He looks much better in the video and he has a great voice so I can see how Miranda could be attracted to him.
This is a horrible picture of him but he’s pretty amazing generally. He’s also about twelve minutes into his first major label contract after years of being a grunt musician so he’s awkward as heck in the face of all of this attention. It’s nice to see Miranda with someone who is into his music more than his celebrity status. And yeah, I’d never heard of him before Miranda started posting about him on Instagram.

When Lyle Lovett sings, my toes curl, so Lyle Lovett will always be sexy to me. Miranda’s fella looks like a less sexier Lyle Lovett. I am a little sad that Miranda and Blake didn’t work out because they looked really good together.

I thought she absolutely SLAYED her cover of ZZ Top’s “Tush” last night! I’m not a mainstream country fan at all, but that was the best moment of the night for me. Keith Urban rockin’ the banjo in his set was pretty awesome too.
Ever since I read that Dolly is secretly covered in tattoos I’m so fascinated with any photo of her showing the extent she goes through to cover her arms. This is a great shot showing the arm stockings that she wears (you can see it covering the inside of her hand attached around her thumb). If it’s true I wish Dolly would just show up in a tank and say “here are my tatts ya’ll, deal with it!”
Christian S did Miranda no favors with that dress- the top is a disaster. I do like the color on her. Re Nicole- I think the dress is amazing, but wrong event for it. Katy Perry- how long does she keep this up? Isn’t she over 30? That get up looks like a western Rocky Horror get up.

The strongest rumor is that she was cheating. Nevertheless, she debuted this guy about the same time as when Blake started dating Gwen, so I think they both moved on pretty quickly. Celeb types definitely don’t like to be alone for very long!

I really love Nicole Kidmans dress but it was totally wasted on an event like this. I would have loved to see this on someone else during awards season. The rest r just meh to me.
I stopped watching the awards show when I saw the whole thing was a plug for Walmart – the largest employer in the U.S. but only part time, no benefits, and selling mostly foreign made products. They treat their employees like crap but hey, they’re fundraising for world hunger, so all is well *insert sarcasm*.
