Kim Kardashian: ‘I also lasered my neck because I had such a hairy neck’

kim1

Kim Kardashian is still chatting about superficial stuff on her subscription app. Some of it is stuff we’ve known about for a while, like how she had all of her baby hairs lasered off. While Kim has romanced the Botox needle consistently throughout the years, I’ve always thought that one of the big reasons why her face looks “off” is because Kim overdid the lasering on her face. She did her mustache, her baby hairs, her little sideburns, and as she described yesterday, she also did her neck. Girl, how much hair did you have on your NECK?

Looking back at photos of Kim Kardashian during her days as Paris Hilton’s sidekick is basically the equivalent to looking back at her baby photos — her appearance has changed drastically over the years. But one of the most talked about changes that has taken place on her road to Mrs. West? Every rogue hair has simply vanished from her face and neck — and she wants you to know that life isn’t necessarily better without them.

“I lasered my baby hairs off years ago, because my forehead had all these little baby hairs, and I would always break out because of them,” the star wrote in a post on her website.

But with her dermatologists on speed dial, her hairline certainly wasn’t the only thing she altered. “I also lasered my neck because I had such a hairy neck,” she adds, noting that her unwanted strands would have been removed digitally anyway. “Every photographer would photoshop them out anyway, and I thought I looked better without the baby hairs, but now I miss them. I think they look youthful!”

[From People]

Granted, if I had neck hair, I would laser it off too, but I’m not sure what she’s defining as neck hair? Is she talking about the hair growing from the bottom of her scalp? Or was she hairy below her chin or what? Anyway… I love talking about facial hair on women. The conversation is so taboo. So I’ll admit that I have two hairs on my neck that I pluck. They’re really weird and, like, aggressively coarse. They come in like an inch below my ears. But I would never laser the sh-t out of my face and neck.

Also – Kim did a conversation with her main BFF Jonathan Cheban about how she used to be such a famewhore. She said she used to have a place on Robertson (the paparazzi-mecca circa 2006), living “right behind Kitson” and she would pap stoll every day and even talk to the paparazzi. She says: “And every time I’d go to the gym or go eat, every paparazzi would ask me questions and I would be like: ‘Hey guys!’ Like, I so wanted the attention.”

Here are some photos of Kim and North in Vail this week. They went on a “surprise” ski trip, only it’s not really a surprise because the KUWTK cameras are filming them. This is this season’s big trip.

WAS a famewhore? Past tense, really??

  2. Nancy says:

I truly have never heard of such of a narcissist as she is. Who looks at neck hairs…..is she like Magilla the Gorilla. Damn, she is weird. I hope she isn’t inspecting Northwest for those nasty hairs that don’t beautify her. Freak

    • crtb says:

Who has hair on their neck? I am a hairy woman: legs look like I have fur, hairy arms and as I get older: hair on my chin and upper lip. I have never seen any hair on my neck unless she is talking about he hairline in the back.

      • vavavoom says:

I am in the beginning stages of having my neck (and chin / upper lip) lasered right now. And I’m not Armenian. I have a LOT. If I were famous and had HD photos taken of me while I was just walking to the store, I guarantee all the gossip blogs would be talking about my ‘stubble’ or ‘beard’ or what have you. Some people have hair there. I’ve been embarrassed about it since high school when some boy pointed it out for me.

      • Taxi says:

I know a woman who has a furry neck. I think it’s odd to see dark hairs on her throat & sides of her neck but her husband doesn’t seem to mind. She’s Armenian, I think.

  3. Nicole says:

I really wish she would wear color. I am so tired of seeing her in black.

    • Tris says:

That poor child always in these atrocious clothes and colours. I love children in bright playful colours and MOST IMPORTANTLY comfortable clothes. This baby has been in tight, scratchy, dreary clothing since she was born. Her ears punctured, her hair scraped tight, and – soon, presumably – her hair lasared.

    • unclebob says:

Honey, we’re just tired of seeing her -period.

  4. burnsie says:

Sometimes it’s not that you have a lot of neck hair, it just looks worse than it is if you have that unfortunate combo of fair skin and dark hair *slowly ducks head in shame*

    • swak says:

I don’t believe (could be wrong) that her natural coloring is considered fair skin. Now my daughter who inherited her dad’s Irish pale skin, has fair skin.

      • Gomez says:

Speaking from personal experience, dark hair, especially if it’s coarse, shows awfully on olive skin too. Her natural skin tone, IIRC from the old photos of her, was a medium olive that sometimes had a light layer of St Tropez tanner, rather than the gallons she applies now.

      • swak says:

Thanks Gomez. I just didn’t feel the dark hair on fair skin applies to Kim.

    • Santia says:

I’m a black woman and I have hair on my neck (we call it a “kitchen” LOL) and if I had her money, I would laser it off.

  5. Sarah(too) says:

How she USED TO BE such a famewhore? Bless her heart.

  6. swak says:

She says: “And every time I’d go to the gym or go eat, every paparazzi would ask me questions and I would be like: ‘Hey guys!’ Like, I so wanted the attention.” Has this really changed any? And how thick were her baby hairs that they caused outbreaks (seriously)?

    • Rae says:

Yes, seriously. Around the hairline is prone to build up and spots in some people. I don’t have particular thick hair, quite thin actually, but its not too uncommon for me to get breakouts on the hairline too. So I make sure to exfoliate right up into the hairline as much as possible and cleanse. I try to wash my hair ASAP after gym work outs, etc.

I remember a beauty therapist at the spa I go to telling me it is a common problem area she sees whilst doing facials.

      • swak says:

Thanks Rae. I get that the hairline is prone to build up but does that have to do more with people not really concentrating on that area to make sure it is cleansed properly or is it because of baby hairs? I don’t know. My youngest had the baby hairs and I don’t remember it being a problem. So maybe she made sure she cleansed all the way to the hair line.

      • Rae says:

Yes, I think it’s that any hair build up, baby hair or normal hairline, traps skin excretion and I think you need to concentrate on making sure you cleanse it.

With baby hair, it’s lower on the forehead and looks more unsightly (and obvious) when that area breaks out.

If I had the choice or need, I would get rid of the fluff so I didn’t have an extra worry.

  7. Kate says:

While her plastic surgery is a bridge too far for me, I can understand wanting to laser unsightly hair. I have facial hair from medications I take and it’s all I can see. No one else sees it but me but I still can’t leave it be.

    • SydneySnider says:

Oh, Kate, I can relate! I started taking a certain medication 6 months ago. It’s caused facial hair growth, loss of hair/breakage on head, made my skin positively reptilian and I don’t even want to talk about the horrendous hot flushes. I’m seeing my specialist this week and informing him I’m stopping the medication. Not only has it given me these horrible side effects, but it has made absolutely no difference to my condition. And I started out as rather hairy, anyway… I’m considering laser for this, but will wait to see how I recover once I stop the meds. I hope you find a solution because hairiness really is confidence-destroying. Others may (and are polite enough to keep their gob shut) or may not notice it, but it’s all you can see. Good luck.

  8. DeeDee says:

Shaking my head while reading this–is it just me or is she incredibly tedious? Is there nothing more interesting for her to talk about? Ugh.

    • SydneySnider says:

It’s not you, DeeDee. She’s so boring she’d put a glass eye to sleep…

To answer your second question – no. What else can she talk about? She does hugger-all with her kids, except for photo ops, she has no causes or even hobbies, her friends seem to be non-existent, she and hubby don’t do anything romantic or even interesting together, except – again – pap strolls and photo ops. She never travels anywhere unique or exciting: resorts don’t count, and they are basically the same everywhere in the world. She never mentions meeting anyone who stirs her to something ….more, if that’s the right word. She’s doesn’t do anything inspiring or altruistic, or anything that “hits the heart”, so can’t call on anything other than the superficial, trifling minutia, and everything is always all about her. Ugh, indeed.

  9. M says:

I have neck hair and it’s not funny.

  10. realitycheck says:

The concealer around her eyes in the top picture is awful! It’s so noticeable. Her makeup has caused so many trends, everyone now over does it with the makeup.

  11. Rae says:

I can’t throw any hate at her for this: I get a lot of my body hair waxed off. I am genuinely thinking about getting the parts lasered and being done with monthly spa sessions. However, it would cost a fortune for all those areas, and the repeat sessions you need until you get the results that you want. I can’t justify it at the moment, unfortunately.

    • Mel M says:

Ugh, me too. I am hairy, like I stupidly shaved my arms in middle school and now they are even worse. I have facial hair that I am constantly removing daily, a lot is from having kids and it never went away. If I ever make a small fortune I will laser is all off!

Also I think she has to be talking about the back of her neck at the bottom of the scalp. I have a lot of hair there too.

      • word says:

I always thought most females have hair behind the neck? The amount of time women spend on hair removal is insane. I wonder what Kim does with all the extra time since she doesn’t have to worry about that?

      • Rae says:

        @Mel M.

I know your pain. Changing from shaving to waxing changed my world. I made the mistake of shaving certain areas once…and I paid for it. I won’t ever shave again. Wax or laser till the end.

      • Mel M says:

        @rae

Right! Why didn’t someone tell me about the aftermath of shaving? I even shaved the little hairs between my brows in middle school but those didn’t come back worse thank God. Actually the only thing I wish had come back thicker is my eye brows that I plucked to death and now they are so so sparse. Middle school was a bad time, lots of mean girls and low self esteem, not to mention the 90s makeup trends, eck. Sadly, I have hair everywhere I don’t want it and none where I do.

      • Rae says:

        We can’t win @Mel!

  12. word says:

    1. No Kim, baby hairs make you look HUMAN.

    2. You still are a famewhore. What’s changed?

    3. Surprise trip my ass. E pays for all their family “vacations”. They normally go somewhere more exotic but they’re probably worried about “terror threats” or something. Kim hasn’t been to Paris since the attacks (she used to fly there twice a month at least).

    4. Why won’t an interviewer ask her about her many nose jobs? I mean is lazer hair removal really the most “drastic” thing she’s done to her face? Come on now.

    • Mel M says:

I’m thinking more like she’s not exactly where she wants to be body wise right now so she doesn’t want to get into a bikini. So they went somewhere she could cover her entire body up.

      • word says:

Oh I didn’t even think of that ! But why does the rest of the family have to cater to her though?

      • swak says:

Was just going to say that. @word – because she’s the main money maker so you need to keep her happy (rolling eyes now!)

  13. Alix says:

I hope she never touches North’s baby hairs — they are adorable!

    • lucy2 says:

Knowing how fanatical she’s been about her own hair removal, I cringe every time I see North’s because you know her mother is going to do something about it, and probably way too soon.

I’ve done it to remove facial hair, but would never mess with my actual hairline. But then again, there isn’t a part of herself that Kim hasn’t messed with.

  14. Asiyah says:

    Hairy women…UNITE!

    🙁

  15. Gomez says:

She’s a vibrant orange in that top photo. Granted olive skin can be awkward to photograph sometimes, pulling very green or grey sometimes, even on darker olive tones, but I’m not sure that the remedy is repeatedly coating yourself in a cocktail of tanning lotions, bronzers and orange toned contour make up.

  16. pk says:

You hardly ever see a picture of her normal resting face, she’s always wearing oversized glasses or making the duckface or looking away.

  17. Elisa the I. says:

I had my arm pits and bikini line lasered for the first time around 6 weeks ago and so far almost no hear has grown back. Usually it takes 4 sessions until all hair is gone.
It feels so great not having to shave! My skin always gets dry and irritated after shaving, so I will def continue with the lasering. It hurts like hell but it’s worth it.

    • Mle428 says:

I had my facial hair lasered, which worked remarkably well. I’m Native American and Swedish, neither of which are supposed to be particularly hairy…so I have no idea how I got so hairy. Now that I’m expecting a baby boy in the next couple of weeks the hair on my chin has gone into overdrive! When I see recent pics of Kim leaving the dermatologist I’m *counting the days* until I can hit the laser. Lol I have very fair skin and dark hair, so it’s really obvious. If I had the $ I would laser my armpits and bikini line for sure!

I live in Southern California, where laser treatments are the cultural norm. The sun out here does a number on your skin, even with consistent skin care and sunscreen use. So if it’s not hair you’re lasering off, it’s sun damage.

    • Rae says:

It’s definitely on my to do list to get done.

  18. Lama Bean says:

LOL at People throwing shade at KK.

“Looking back at photos of Kim Kardashian during her days as Paris Hilton’s sidekick is basically the equivalent to looking back at her baby photos — her appearance has changed drastically over the years.”

    Subtle, People.

  19. Rockin Robin says:

We get it Kim. NOTHING on you is real.

  20. Marine says:

I am Armenian and some of us have thick hair (which is great on top of your head) but the rest is tough!! I have extremely sensitive skin, itching and burning after shaving my legs…I did laser treatments before my wedding last year and they helped but I need to go back, I had 6 or 7 sessions but with low voltage due to my sensitive skin which has proven to not be enough…it’s tough because sometimes you feel so alone but I’m glad I’m not the only one suffering lol

  21. Kilgore Trout says:

LOL @ her referring to baby hairs as youthful. I swear, she is going to look like Jacqueline Wildenstein in 10 years. This is a woman who is completely and utterly self-obsessed and lives in her mirror. She will forever try to remove all imperfections until she looks like a freak. She’s already half-way there. Sad to see in her mid-thirties that she is already beginning to obsess over aging and worrying about what looks youthful.

Kim should regret lasering her hairline because it is arguably the worst looking thing on her. Her hairline is hideous!

  22. Anastasia says:

Lasering off all her baby hairs on her hairline always makes her look like she’s wearing a wig.

  23. Sweetypie says:

Being part Armenian and Greek, I have so much dark hair, it’s a nightmare.
Most people don’t understand what it means to have such a genetic.

The babyhair on my forehead started joining my eyebrows on the side. I also have thin but very dark hair from my sideburns to below my jawline. And my neck hair is going up all the way to my jawline, so I feel just like a werewolf. Lol.

As for armpits, I would shave in the morning, and right after supper the stubbles would be there, so I would have to shave again if I had an evening out. Rest of the body looks like a jungle. And of course, lot of ingrown hairs and folliculitis.

A lot of my Mediterrean friends have the same issue. The dermatologist told me there is a genetic component, nothing wrong with me. So I started electrolysis for the forehead and laser for the other body parts and I feel so much relieved and feminine. Very expensive, but worth every penny. I only wish I dit it sooner!

  24. Prettypix says:

Kim K has her own category tab?! F-Yeah, America! Guys i’m not being facetions here; I’ve been a passive reader for years and then I saw that Kim K tab and i just HAD to comment. LOL.
