Oh Lawdy forgive my negativity…..but how in the world does Miley get the attention of attractive men or even so so average men. She is always running around naked, but is not sexy. People say she can sing, but she sounds like Grandpa Amos McCoy in her speaking voice. On paper she should be pretty, but is average (again that voice) doesn’t help. Imagine a huge hairy truck driver, that’s a big 10-4 Rusty….that’s Miley’s voice. She must have some major skills that only these guys know about! It’s all about the Climb Smiley 🙂

DKMIF: I don’t know if you’re agreeing with me or think she’s all the things I don’t. I thought she sounded very masculine in her version. Dolly wrote it and sings it like it was meant to be sung…sweet with a bit of pathos and sadness. I’m not anti Miley, she’s a child, just don’t understand how she lands the hotties.
People always use this as proof that she can sing, but…I still don’t see it. It sounds better than her usual stuff, but still not good.
FYI: Dolly is Miley’s godmother. They’re pretty close.

I agree Nancy, I don’t get it either! It boggles the mind… I don’t dislike her, but I can’t see how she’s all too talented. Her acting is pretty bad. Really, she’s awesome though for her animal activism. I can get behind that…and her dislike for Trump.
@French, I really dislike using the one song she sings well to pit against all the other crap songs she sings/has sang before. Yes, she nails “Jolene”, truly she does, but she sings and talks straight out of her nose otherwise. It’s a shame because I think she sounds awesome, but I’m not convinced she’s all that talented because she doesn’t often use her range.

That’s plain sexist. If ‘hot’ men would only be attracted to conventional or highly attractive people, many of us would be forever alone as even ugly or average men can be considered ‘hot’ if they have enough charisma, humour, money and intelligence (see Cumberbatch, blech!).
Also women do NOT need to conform to narrow ever-changing always judgmental norms like you just spelled out. How sad.
She doesn’t have to have the perfect voice, looks or attitude, people fall in love, it’s something that cannot be explained. That’s the whole thing about love.
This whole thing with hot men are expected to be with ‘hot’ women is SO boring and outdated it’s pathetic. It’s in the same vein as hot men with overweight women. And what is hot anyway? Liam is OK but he’s not a price either but I suppose that doesn’t matter when Miley is considered the worst. Dude just slides by and gets a pass because of ‘looks’. Typical. This is why everytime people mention how ‘looks’ aren’t important, I just can’t because it’s proven every single day how much importance and superiority (WHY?) people place on looks.
And you know, all of her exes were very in love with her so at some point people will just have to deal with the fact that they did consider her attractive and charming. It doesn’t matter how you view the world’s hierarchy, it matter what individual people feel and do in real life.
Artemis: Sorry I didn’t mean to ruffle feathers….but the moment someone decides to go public and boy did Miley ever decide to do that, they are open to being critiqued or adored. It’s the business she chose. For me, the decline began after the Robin Thicke fiasco and went down from there. She became an exhibitionist and was a media joke for some time and she didn’t have to be. She has plenty of hit records and tons of money. Yes I think she has the speaking voice of a man and find her annoying. But, like you said there are plenty of men, Chris or Liam whichever, who find her attractive. We are all just people on a celebrity gossip site, and are entitled to our opinions whether others agree or not. Truly, that’s the way it should be.

I am sometimes stunned that people can’t figure out that there is always difference between public perception of somebody and their real person – not just with celebrities that we know only through their public image, but also with people that we get to know in our own lives. And the sexist part – it’s just sad.

Your critique is sexist, that much is obvious. And I hear this from both men and women in real life (guys: ‘nah she’s not hot enough/’f-ckable or women who don’t find themselves good enough because the guy is ‘too hot’). People sell themselves short for a superficial and ultimately meaningless (time destroys beauty and then what’s left?) factor to decide whether or not they deserve love. Sad. These sexist notions are ingrained in women and we can’t blame just men for this.
Also plenty of women have low voices, cannot believe you think low voices (often called ‘husky’) are ‘manly’. You probably subscribe to the gender binary. Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie both have very low voices too.
If anything, Miley has a nasal voice, which I find annoying.
I don’t care that you dislike her for her voice, looks, behaviour. I find it damaging that you perpetuate the notion that a woman cannot be possible be loved because her looks are not equal to her partner’s. A women doesn’t have to earn a man with her looks. There’s more to life, wake up.

That makes me seriously not like Beyoncé (I’ve largely been ambivalent to her). The company she’s accused of denying credit to is a small dancewear company. Small companies need all the good press they can get. And having Beyoncé wear your stuff is a big deal. Not giving credit is a major thing in the styling world and she should totally correct this.
She won’t. Her and Jay Z will continue to do this to smaller people because they can. Watch Topsham rush to make the same thing and take all the credit.

LOL! Why is Liam’s announcement such a surprise? During the whole week of Miley’s ‘getting-back-together-with-Liam-oh-and-we’re-engaged-again-see-my-rock!-see-the-moving-truck?’ week, the only thing we ‘did not’ see was Liam … not in any of the photo ops, no long-distance gushing ‘Yeah, we’re back together’ Instagrams or anything. It was all Miley and her peeps.
It could very well be that they’ve started hooking up again and may well be in a ‘let’s give this another try’ relationship, but Liam was just too absent during the ‘We’re back together and engaged!’ tour for it to be anything more than that.
But whatever is going on, I wish them well. 🙂
