The Beyhive has claimed another victim. Yet another woman has had to come forward after being harassed by the Hive! I saw some comments about how we should send the Beyhive to fight ISIS, and I sort of agree. The Beyhive could take down some terrorists, easy peasy. Anyway, as we discussed yesterday, the Beyhive turned their attentions to Rita Ora, who already has a convoluted professional history with Jay-Z and Roc Nation. The Beyhive believed that Rita was openly stuntin’ and flauntin’ her Becky Status with a lemon-themed bikini top on Snapchat, and Beyonce’s Gucci ensemble.
So, Rita’s Tuesday didn’t start off great. The Beyhive began inundating her social media pages Monday evening. Rita didn’t do herself any favors by posting this Instagram of the poster for Elizabeth Taylor in Ash Wednesday, a film about “a beautiful woman whose husband doesn’t love her and who tries to tempt him back by getting plastic surgery.” COUGH. If you read through the comments on that IG, it’s all pretty brutal for Rita. So she had to come out and tweet this:

Again, much like Rachel Roy, Rita didn’t say “I’ve never had relations with Jay-Z.” She didn’t say “there is absolutely no way that I’m a Becky or the Becky.” But… unlike the Roy situation (which is still shady as hell, IMO), I’m feeling like Beyonce was not referencing Rita. Like, why would Beyonce even waste the energy on Rita Ora, even if Jay and Rita did have relations? And that’s something else… I don’t even know if I believe that Jay would go for Rita.

The ladies of the D list are getting a huge publicity boost from that one line. Even Iggy figured out how to get some attention, bless her.

I guess I just don’t understand why people care about the identity of Becky. (Also, who thinks there’s only ONE Becky in this situation? Wouldn’t it be more likely that “Becky” is more than one person all rolled into one character for brevity’s sake?)

I like it, I like Beyonce, but after a few days I’m already ready to stop talking about ‘becky’, because I think the overall ‘gossip’ story she tells isn’t the most important part, but you wouldn’t be able to see that from going online…
and I’m getting irritated basically that people went to TOWN on the secret, personal meanings and are focusing less and less on the album as a whole, less on the art itself.
I’m also irritated that Beyonce kinda went ( or kinda had to go ) super low to get people to talk about her personal life to sell records.
She won’t do an interview but she’ll spill it all for $$$$?
girl don’t talk about how you’re ‘too smart to crave material things’, but really, money is material, so you’re not fooling anyone girl.
and I doubt it was her intention but I dont think shes dumb enough to know this would spin so far away from the fact that it’s art and music and would go right to the ‘personal’ part of people being obsessed with celebrity.
people are seemingly more obsessed with this album for the gossip (which may or may not even be true) than the art it is.
and thats a damn shame.

Miss Merry for the win! Totally agree with your post and I’m convinced Rachel and Rita were either paid or encouraged by B or her camp to post “suspicious” information to keep the intrigue and gossip going. These ladies aren’t going after the Queen without permission or a payday of some sort!

I think so too. I usually hate bleached eyebrows but somehow it works on her.
I’m 100% sure Rita is not Becky, but she knew exactly what she was doing for the last couple of days. She fanned the flames just enough to make people talk about her for 48 hours. Mission accomplished.
Who knows who Becky is – whether she is, as others up post say, many “other” women rolled into one or a stand alone.
What is clear to me, though, is this is orchestrated marketing – collusion among beyonce’s people and jayz’s people.
None of it interests me – it does not make me want to hear the album, see the HBO “video” or whatever it is.
It’s lost its luster, the PR stunts.

It’s been my experience that men who cheat will cheat with whoever is willing to give them some.
I’m far more interested in the spoken word lyric about the three of them posing for pictures together… “you, me and your perfect girl”. So much more juicy than Becky!! And has to be referring to Rihanna or Rita.
Honestly, I think that if there is a real “Becky” (1 or more) they are not risking the wrath of the Hive. No offense to the Hive but seriously this is ridiculous to invest so much energy to attack these women for someone you think you know.
The lack of response of some (who have been accused in the past) does speak volumes though.

Why wouldn’t Jay go after Rita? I mean, as much as I dislike her, in normal circumstances (were none of them were rich/famous) Rita would be so out of his league…

Although not a fan of either, I didn’t want to say it before, but am going to now… I’ve been seeing these photos for a couple of days, especially the ones with the identical dress, and was really confused as to who is who. Rita with the tan and dirty-blonde hair, and Beyonce with the lighter skin and dirty-blonde hair… To me, they look very alike.
As a white girl named Becky I must say all this hullabaloo is rather amusing. I think it’s funny that my name has become synonymous for basic white girl. I think ultimately we have Sir Mix-a-lot to thank for that. At least I can find comfort in knowing I’m not basic. And I have terrible hair lol
