Last weekend, I watched Brooklyn for the third time and fell in love with Saoirse Ronan all over again. Like, she inspires real devotion and love. People are rooting for her. People want her to succeed. People want her to deliver some great Fashion Girl moments. But Ronan was a huge disappointment at the Met Gala. This Christopher Kane gown – WITH FEATHERS – is just bad. And wrong. It’s awful to do this to Saoirse. She was one of my biggest disappointments of the night just because I want so much for her!
Kate Upton wore a boring TopShop dress, but she ended up making news on the carpet when she debuted her engagement ring. Kate is engaged to Justin Verlander. *shrug*
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen always look like they’re doing everyone a favor by coming to the Met Gala. If you’re going to be that morose about it, why go?
Solange Knowles is literally Crazy-Pants.
Charlotte Casiraghi wore Gucci too, sorry I missed her in the Gucci post! This dress is crazy-fug.
Rachel McAdams in Valentino… she’s pretty and I’m not going to complain about the dress, but the whole thing just feels underwhelming. Rachel has so much potential to be one of my favorite people on the red carpet, but… I don’t know, I generally look at photos of her and shrug.

Awful. But handy to conceal a boxing glove if you want to thump your brother – in – law in the elevator (no double entendre intended).
I think Upton looks gorgeous. Upton doesn’t need to be innovative – she’s got the raw material, she’s selling the brand glamorous Kate Upton, not a dress. Solange kinda has to be quirky – to put it politely – to stand out. There are beautiful women who are quite innovative sometimes – Charlize, Diane Kruger, Lupita on occasion – but quite a lot of the more interesting dressers are not classically gorgeous like Upton: Chloe Sevigney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen Twilight – spring to mind. Just my theory.
the fabric of Ashley’s jacket is amazing, and I’m sad that we didn’t see more of such examples of what can be made with hands and machines combined.
I think Solange looks cool but I wish she had skipped the banana leggings. The dress and her hair are perfection on her IMO.
That yellow/red/pink monstrosity needs to be thrown in a trash fire ASAP.
I like the structure. It’s a little Comme des Garcons but the legwear is atrocious. The dress was enough.

I really like McAdam’s Valentino! It was one of the better, on theme looks of the night.
Kate Upton – snooze. Even the big reveal on ENews of her engagement was snooze.
I know this may not make sense to some because her look is crazy-pants, but I wish Solange would have brought more. This seems kinda uninspired for her.
I can’t stop giggling over the ridiculousness of Solange’s … thing. Michael K wrote something along the lines of this is what happens when your dog pees on the floor and you’re out of paper towels and have to clean it up with coffee filters… Still laughing over that one!
Madonna and Solange need to take off the tequila goggles and face reality.

I have no comment on Saoirse Ronan’s dress because it doesn’t deserve one. Solange was dressed like a lemon to honor Lemonade. Kate Upton no thanks bye. Casiraghi’s dress would’ve been fine if she was wearing one of the colors not all of them at once. Sorry not sorry but my girl Rachel McAdams looks good, her makeup is beautiful & that dress is gorgeous. She’s one of the few that I actually liked & made sense at the MET Gala
I think Solange’s look could have worked were it not for the leggings because otherwise it could be fun and playful and her hair and makeup look great. Everyone else looks awful

I don’t know who Saoirse is but the dress is awful and the makeup is unbelievably bad. The poor girl is all eyes and no bottom lip. Was she maybe chewing on her bottom lip when these pics were taken? It makes her head look out of proportion completely. Someone should have said something before she left the house.

McAdams is awesome.. my sister met her once, she said she is the most gracious celebrity and looks even prettier in person
Saoirse is another person who’s face I really like 😍 I find her to be very striking. I don’t care for the dress.
Kate looks nice and she could have worn this to any awards show.

Rachel bores me to tears and I don’t care for her but I’m loving this dark lippie. She looks great with it.
What happened to Mary-Kate’s face? They always looked like identical twins, even though they’re not, but right now she looks more like Elizabeth than Ashley and in an older aunt kind of way, not like her slightly older sister. It’s like her forehead suddenly grew by half and made her eyes shrink.

I don’t know folks. I think I’m just jealous. All these beautiful women have access to the greatest designers, stylists, makeup artists and hair dressers. They have unlimited money (compared to the likes of us). And on the whole, they have some wonderful figures that I would kill for. I just wish they would work their contacts more. Sigh.

I’m all for Avante Garde and I love yellow but Solange looks ridiculous. I tried to like this outfit but can’t. It looks like Solange was accosted by an accordion and a chicken. Maybe if it the outfit was in navy or on someone else who knew how to wear it. Loved the Olsens, and Charlotte looks ok but thought everyone else missed it by a mile.
The Olsen Twins really know how to ruin the mood. Gosh. I feel like they just drag down a party with their aura. Kate looks sooooo pretty. Very elegant and lovely. Solanage did what she always does, brings the crazy in the best possible way ever. Mhmmmm, girl yes! I’m loving ever second of that big bird meets a coffee filter filled with mustard for reason. Bring it honey!
