Ooooooh, it’s time for a French Bae-Off. Here are some photos from today’s Cannes Film Festival photocall of It’s Only The End Of The World, or Juste La Fin Du Monde. The film stars Léa Seydoux and Marion Cotillard, but that’s not even important. Because the film also stars Vincent Cassel and Gaspard Ulliel. BLESS.
Obviously, I’m including more photos of Gaspard’s squinty beauty, because he is now and will forever be my French bae. But! These photos of Vincent are really nice too. I’ve always thought he had the jolie-laide thing happening, that his sexiness was more of a quirk just because he’s so confident and physical and amazing, not because of his actual looks. But the beard is working for me. He looks HOT with a beard. As for Gaspard… the dimples, the shy smile, the fact that he’s dressed like a middle-American dad on his way to high school basketball game… it’s hot.
So, in a French Bae-Off, who would you choose?

Yes to Vincent, beard or clean shaven! Gaspard has youth, but wears a perma-sneer that I find terribly off-putting. It’s as is everyone & everything disgusts or irritates him.
Oh me too. The way he’s looking at the camera makes me feel like I’m in on the joke. Whereas Gaspard in photo 2, has the look my French boyfriend had when he’d see my untended fingernails. And would make that tsch tsch sound to himself while pursing his lips.

Gaspard. Gaspard all day, everyday day. Though I can’t deny Vincent has that thing that just makes him infinitely attractive.
Also, it’s not a dimple, Gaspard has a scar on his cheek from being clawed by a dog when he was a kid. It’s crescent shaped so it looks like a dimple when he smiles or talks.
He also has some scars on his forehead on the same side, I dig that he embraces it.

Given the choice, I’d go with Vincent. He seems like he would be a good time. I recognie that Gaspard is objectively beautiful, but he comes off as cold and arrogant. I obviously don’t know the guy and that could very well be far from the truth, it’s just a vibe I get.
I am obsessed with that Bleu de Chanel stuff he shills, though. My boyfriend wears it, and it’s possible that I may occasionally spray some on myself.

Vincent FTW. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself with Gaspard. I’d constantly be trying to get him to open his eyes. He’d think I was trying to talk dirty, but all I would mean is, “No. REally. LOOK AT ME!” LOL They both look like there might be some “Coffee in the morning” and then radio silence when you saw them the next day at the cafe.
