Charlie Sheen is shopping a reality show about living with HIV, this will end well

Every time I cover Charlie Sheen, I think of what a horrible excuse for a human being he is. He had unprotected sex with multiple partners without informing them of his HIV positive status, a felony for which he’s under investigation (we know how that’s going to go), he’s a known abuser who threatens his own daughters with death and physically abuses his partners, he spends money on prostitutes, drugs, and payoffs to the people he harmed while cutting child support to his children’s mothers. I could go on. He’s a disgusting POS who should not be getting interviews on major outlets like he’s some kind of ambassador for people living with HIV. Still he keeps getting chances and the press gives him positive coverage. The latest on Charlie is that he wants a reality show.

The Emmy-nominated actor, 50, is shopping a reality show about living with the virus and “his life in general,” a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “He’s met with various producers. He’d really open up and allow the cameras inside his world…”

The father of five wants a fresh start at work and at home. After years of bad blood with ex-wife Denise Richards (in January, the actress filed a lawsuit against Sheen, claiming he threatened her and their kids), he spent the 4th of July watching fireworks with her and their daughters Sam, 12, and Lola, 11.

“They’re on good terms,” shares a second insider, who is close to the former reality star, 45.

For his part, Sheen, who also has daughter Cassandra, 31 (with ex Paula Profit), and sons Bob and Max, both 7 (with ex-wife Brooke Mueller), is trying to turn his image around.

Last month, he told Piers Morgan he gets “the future of HIV treatment” (a drug called Pro 140). The actor also noted last year in an open letter for the Today show that his viral load was “undetectable.”

“Like every other challenge in my life, again, I was victorious and kicking this disease’s ass,” he wrote. “I wish my story had ended there. Unfortunately, for my family and myself, it had only just begun.”

And if Sheen gets his wish, he’ll take viewers along on his journey.

[From US Magazine]

No US, I know this is an exclusive and props for getting these quotes, but it is not “bad blood” with Denise Richards. Again, he threatened to kill their youngest daughter and called her a ‘f-ing pig whore.’ He kicked Denise and their two daughters out of the home in his neighborhood which he convinced them to move into, changed the locks and then trashed and stole their things. All of this is public record but these new stories get run like Charlie is just some ex-TV star who happened to get HIV. Poor Charlie, spreading HIV to countless unknowing partners, emotionally and physically abusing everyone he’s close to and then smiling and acting normal in interviews. He just deserves another chance. Let’s give him a reality show.

This is Charlie promoting a new condom line called Lelo Hex. I’m not even kidding, he’s the face of this condom line.

    No. Just no.

UGH! I had someone try to defend him to me!!! (???) I don’t think he’s the devil, but he’s not someone worth defending. And it’s also annoying that he’s trying to come off as a hero who is living with HIV. Everything about him is really grinding my gears right now.

Also, it seems Charlie is one of those people that truly has his ups and downs. I always love reading Jon Cryer’s opinions/pieces about his relationship with Charlie. Jon seems to be both a good friend AND a good person, so he is honest about Charlie’s faults (and they’re big ones). You can tell that Charlie CAN be charming and a great individual, but when that switch flips…it FLIPS.

I’d suggest reading some of the articles written about him. There’s one in particular that I remember, written by a guy who used to be a tabloid reporter who knew Charlie very well.

After you read those, yeah, he kind of is the devil. He’s a genuinely bad dude.

      • AmyB says:

Yes Sam I read that article. It was from the Hollywood Reporter I believe. It was an unbelievable and disgusting account of Charlie’s sociopathic behavior. This man does not deserve anymore chances in the public eye; he is an affront and danger to society. It is clear he will never accept the necessary psychological help he desperately needs so please, please dear God: do not give this POS a reality television show!!! Go away already UGH!!!!

  3. swak says:

    Just can’t with this.

  4. Sayrah says:

No no no. I need that gif from the office.

  5. Sam says:

So somebody who is accused of foregoing condoms with multiple partners and recklessly exposing them to HIV is now the face of a line of condoms?

There is not a term invented in any human language yet for irony THIS profound.

Reminds me of when I was watching Richard Nixon’s resignation speech on tv. It was sponsored by Renuzit air freshener…..

  6. Trixie says:

I don’t think Charlie Sheen should be the face of a condom line considering the news that he’s the face of this condom line made me distrust this condom line to the point I will never, ever buy it.

I’m just going to speak from my life with addicts, my moms life with addicts, and my life with addiction.

They’re nuts. They’re out of their mind. They don’t know what they’re doing. They’re brain is so unbelievably diseased. My grandmother nearly shot my mom in the head. She abused my mother and family horribly. My uncle was a drug addict and died from what I think is AIDS but it was back in the early 90’s so people didn’t know much about it. When I was sick I was a nasty evil person. The people I know that were addicts were walking disasters. I live with addiction and many people I love live with addiction. I don’t know everything about Sheen but I do know he’s an out of his mind drug addict. I try not to judge addicts too hard simply because they’re sick. Just as any person with a physical illness is sick. I’m an extraordinarily different person when I’m sick. I’m just saying, his psychotic behavior doesn’t surprise me because he’s an addict. Does that make it okay? Absolutely not. Not at all. But if he gets real help with it then he could make a turnaround. I kydt gave empathy for addicts. If I was sick, you all would be saying the same things about me-how I’m an evil devil-but I’m not. That’s not who I really am. And this psycho may not be who sheen truly is. Again not an excuse. Just a thought to keep in mind. It’s hard to truly understand addicts unless you are one.

    • susanne says:

I hear you. I do think that Sheen is a case of addict plus sociopath. Not all addicts act out with violence like this. I know how addiction causes us to act, but we still have to take responsibility for our actions. It’s tricky, and I appreciate what you had to say.

  8. Naya says:

He seems desperate to generate income. He must be broke or close to broke.

  9. what's inside says:

When is the American public going to realize that the media is manipulating and untruthful. When? As for him, I cannot understand why he is taking up perfectly good air. Why has he been allowed to get away with harming so many people. Corey Haim comes to mind. There is a special place in hell for evil people like him.

  10. Snowflake says:

POS. If he was a woman, he would have been banished from Hollywood a long time ago

  11. QQ says:

F*ck this Guy, Just F*ck him, Id normally never call a person Garbage but here we are

search charlie sheen kittens. It will work like brain bleach.

  14. Tessa says:

Why is this man not in prison?
Why is he on my TV?

  15. MAnthony says:

Living with HIV. No! Talk to someone like Magic Johnson. Not this trainwreck

  16. kri says:

Madness. Madness is all around us. That any business or company would want to associate with him…that he even has a platform-is sickening to me. And we wonder how a college swimmer gets an easy sentence for rape. And we shake our heads at the long-suffering wife who after getting beaten for the 100th time, can’t take it anymore and shoots her abuser. And then she goes to jail for murder. Sigh. F*ck You, Charlie Sheen.

  17. Z says:

In other news, I’m a firm believer that Lelo products are the best on the market. But I’m never buying anything from them again if they’re paying him to promote a product of theirs.

  18. caitlinK says:

As a recovering alcoholic, I am apt to feel a special slant of empathy for other addicts, but in this man’s case–just no. It is not his addiction which makes him a cruel, sadistic narcissist, that has been in him all along. Granted, the addictions augment and unleash that cruelty w an intensified force, but that man is *not* suffering only from addiction. He has repeatedly and knowingly endangered people’s very lives, and shows no remorse–or honesty–about it whatsoever; he is only concerned w his own welfare, w how being HIV Positive will effect *him.* (I love the way this pathological liar says that he has overcome “all the challenges life has thrown at him”–really??? Then why is he still a full blown addict?) Anyone who threatens the lives of his sexual partners, multiple times, well aware of the risk to them, is selfish and rotten to the bone. He wants to be absolved of all he’s done w/out ever paying the penance of a shred of humility, guilt, self awareness, or remotely changed behavior. There is no forgiveness in me for those who blithely, doggedly continue to throw others in harm’s way.
