These photos make me feel so old. I remember when Sophie Turner was just a child-actor playing Sansa Stark on the first season of Game of Thrones! And now she’s all grown up (she’s 20 years old) and looking all sophisticated and movie-star glam. It’s a little bit devastating. These are photos of Sophie at the Venice Film Festival over the weekend, where she won the Kineo Prize (it’s like a newcomer award). Sophie went platinum blonde about a month ago and the change is giving me all the feels.
Sophie’s dress on the red carpet was Yanina Couture. It’s not the best dress, and yet she sort of elevates it. There are many advantages to being tall, blonde and slender, and one of those advantages is that you look drop-dead gorgeous in somewhat uneventful couture.
Incidentally, there was a rumor last week that Sophie is dating Ansel Elgort. I really hope it’s not true, and Gossip Cop says it’s bullsh-t. I do think we should set her up with someone interesting though. She’s so pretty and she seems cool. Who should she date? How about ginger-bearded Luke Bracey? He’s only 27.

I am not liking her with the blonde hair. And she looks so much older than 20. It’s like she went from child to adult without the stage inbetween.
I don’t know, I can’t muster too much excitement about her because I don’t think she’s very good as an actress, and Sansa was one of my favourite characters in the books.
Blonde is her natural hair color! She looks pretty, but is more striking as a redhead. I think she just has a very mature bone structure, but she does look older than 20.
I agree about her acting – it used to really distract me how wooden she was – but I think she has improved over the course of the show (or maybe I’ve just gotten used to it). I used to think Daniel Radcliffe was the worst actor ever in the HP films, but he’s also improved with leaps and bounds so I’ll give her a chance.
I saw the recent X-Men movie and she was awfully wooden in that. I don’t really follow GOT, so I can’t really say if she’s improved or not.
Yep, this shade of blonde totally washes her out and doesn’t go with her skin tone at all. I guess her natural hair color is a darker shade of blonde?
She now looks like a budget Diane Kruger.
I have similar coloring and blue eyes and my natural shade is a honey blonde. Except for getting it highlighted every few months (blonder in the summer, warmer tones in fall) I leave it alone because if I went as blonde as she is right now it would wash me out too. I thought the red hair really suited her!

She’s very Evan Rachel Wood in the face. Both look mature beyond their years with an ice queen asthetics. Actually she would totally fit the Vampire Queen role in True Blood.
That dress would look great either shorter or ankle length. That length is matronly on her.
I (embarrassingly) follow Ansel on snapchat and they’re definitely not dating. He’s obsessed with his girlfriend, she’s in majority of his snapstories so unless he cheated, lies!

I also really don’t like how they’re doing Sansa on GoT so I get kind of grumpy when I see her, which isn’t very fair, when it’s the writers who do the writing.
Blond is her natural hair color and I think she looks nice but maybe the shade is not the best and maybe takes getting used to this. However since she should probbaly change haircolor again for filming of the next season of Game of Thrones maybe we won’t get used to this.
Don’t love the bodice, but she looks lovely. The black jumpsuit is awful though.

I just started watching Game of Thrones in the spring and am now on Season 5 (just finished the episode with the WWs attacking the free people). The commentary here is amazing! Is 5 ft 9 really statuesque? Or are actresses generally so petite that 5 ft 9 counts as Amazonian? Genuine question, because I’ve heard Margot Robbie (5 ft 6) also described as statuesque. However, I’ve also heard Alicia Vikander (again 5 ft 6, like Robbie) described as petite in stature. Very peculiar.
It depends of bone structure like the facial shape, how broad are your shoulders, how wide is your rib cage and how you carry yourself, not just your hight. Not that you need to have all those qualities. At least imo. I would not call Margot statusque however but I would say Sophie is.

I think Sophie is gorgeous and looks beautiful with both blonde and red hair. I love the GOT cast and really hope that they continue to have great careers once the show ends.
I think red hair enhance her eye colour and therefore she looks brighter than with this warm blonde.

Sophie looks amazing! I think when you talk about Sophies age and how old she looks, it depends like 100% on her styling. In her everyday hair and clothes she could easily pull off under 20. Immediately in the more lowkey look she has in the bottom pic she looks younger.
Love the styling, but the blonde hair makes her look like other actresses. She’s more unique as a redhead.
Man, I love this girl. I think she’ll be a lot like Emma Stone in that we’ll always see her as/prefer her as a redhead even though she’s a natural blonde.
