I sort of love that various designers choose not to do their biggest events during the hustle and bustle of a fashion week. I wouldn’t have thought Kenzo would be a big enough name to do a big fashion event separate from New York Fashion Week, but here we are. To be fair, this event was specifically for the launch of Kenzo’s capsule collection with H&M. The event was held at Pier 36 in NYC, and it was very well-attended.
The standout is obviously Lupita Nyong’o, who looked like a total boss in her Kenzo ensemble. She really pulls this off!
Like, remember when we were obsessed with Elizabeth Olsen and whether she was dating or banging Tom Hiddleston? For the record, I do think they were dating/banging on-and-off for the better part of a year. While people are still interested in Olsen, it does feel like she dodged a major PR bullet when the Tiddlebanging took over the gossip world. Olsen looks even better now, right? But not in this pajama ensemble.

I sometimes wonder if I invented Chloe Sevigny in a fever dream. She looks like she’s wearing a costume.

Lupita looks amazing but the only enseble I would probably be able to wear in the real world would be Elisabeth’s (but separately, the shirt would look lovely on plain black trousers or jeans and the bottom would be fun with a pullover)

@Kaiser – Kenzo is pretty huge in France, and East Asia. Plus it’s LVMH so of course they would bring out the big guns.
Count me in on strongly disliking almost every single piece in this collection. Lupita’s dress makes her waist five times its actual size. Elizabeth Olsen’s pj’s are the only decent thing I’ve seen but there’s nothing special about them and they’re waaay to casual for a carpet. I don’t get why people are clamoring for these fugly garments.

I feel the same. There is one dress Alba wore, it’s interesting… I will attend cocktail and shopping day before, but doubt i will buy anything… Isabel Marant was the best
I actually enjoy Elizabeth’s pajamas a lot. They are silly but she looks great and makes them work. Lupita is a queen, but no one ever doubted that.

Yes, none of these look good. I love Lupita, but not even her stunning beauty can save that tragic dress. There is just way too much fabric. It is doing horrible things to her figure.

Why is Elizabeth wearing pajamas?
AHHHH – trigger moment! When I took my one granddaughter to Disney World about 3 years ago, we rode It’s a Small World ride so many times that I can’t ever get that song out of my head and really never want to go on the ride again. It’s cute the first time, but after about the 3rd time it’s annoying!
So sorry. I can make my big, burly middle linebacker cousin cry simply by humming it near him.
My triggered flashback is of being on a float in a parade in my hometown; the theme of the float was “It’s a Small World”, and I was swathed in an awful fabric in a pathetic attempt to represent India. That damn song played on repeat through the whole parade, which in reality was short but seemed like an eternity.
On topic: not a fan of any of these looks, but Lupita’s print edges out Elizabeth’s jammies.
Elizabeth is really very pretty & her PJ’s are cute. Never understood all the fuss over Lupita & her outfit this time around is not good.

Considering Lupita and Chloe are wearing the same dress only in different colors, I do not get how one is better than the other. I know Lupita is untouchable around here and whatever she does/touches turns to gold, but when a dress is awful, it is awful. All of these dresses are all awful.

I met Chloe Sevigny at 230 5th night club in the city maybe 6 years ago. It was the night I got engaged. She was sooo sweet and fun and I had no idea who she was until one of the bottle waitresses told me. Her looks work better in person.
Awful all around. Olsen’s ensamble really is a pajama, lol.
I got to try these pieces on on Tuesday in London and I wasn’t sure at first, but they really grew on me.
While the pajamas look super cute and comfy, I think they’re all horribly dressed. (Cannot believe I’m including Lupita in such a group!)
