Here’s my question: are Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky doing okay these days because they moved back to Australia? Or do we just perceive their marriage to be stronger because they are no longer living in LA, the hotbed of celebrity gossip? I don’t know. But I do think moving back to Australia was probably a smart move overall. The fact that Elsa isn’t pap-strolling on a weekly basis has probably strengthened their marriage, because Chris always seemed like he didn’t appreciate Elsa putting their life out there so much. Anyway, one of the Aussie tabloids tried to say that Chris and Elsa were having problems. So Chris posted the above Instagram slapping back at the rumor.
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky won’t be Hollywood’s next big breakup – just ask the Thor star himself. When rumors that the couple’s marriage may be on the rocks surfaced, the Aussie actor wasted no time setting the record straight. Hemsworth, 33, shared a photo with his wife on Instagram, poking fun at the false rumors.
“Looking for a new wife according to @womansdayaus and other misleading outlets!” he captioned the snap of the duo on a boat with Hemsworth shielding his eyes to look out into the distance. “Honey you still love me right?!” The heartthrob even added his own hashtag: “#thanksfortheheadsup.”
A source tells PEOPLE that a report their marriage is on the rocks is not true at all and that they are still happily married. The marriage update was in response to a report by Woman’s Day Australia that the couple’s marriage on the verge of a breakdown.
“They’ve decided they need space, and they’ve been taking a little break from each other,” a source told the outlet. “Hopefully it will be a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder, but they definitely appear to have some issues that need to be sorted out. It has raised a few eyebrows among their friends.”
Hemsworth and the Spanish model wed in 2010 and are parents to 4-year-old India Rose and 2-year-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan.
So you believe them? I do. I think Elsa is in it for the long haul and I think… well, Chris is happy enough. He seems like a doting father and he loves his public persona of a heartthrob-family-man. I have a theory (completely unconfirmed, it’s more like “just a feeling”) that Chris has let his eyes wander a few times and Elsa in turn has turned a blind eye to it. So whatever works for them.

The stories about him having a wandering eye have been around for awhile. *Shrug*, she knows the game and how to play. He’s not and not going to be the big superstar some initially pegged him for, but it’s not like she’s in a position to upgrade and not sure he would bother. They’ll likely stay together.
Interesting. I hadn’t heard any stories about him having a wandering eye –maybe I’ve been reading the wrong gossip! It’ll be interesting to see how these two go in the future. I’ve always been a little surprised by the fact that he got married so young and so quickly, but then, she definitely wanted an A-Lister!
Really? I’ve never heard this and I have friends in common with him – both in Aus and in Venice where they used to live. Ah well… Nothing people do would surprise me! I guess my take on it is that he wants what his parents have – a long-term stable and loving marriage and family. It feels like her hustle has settled a lot since they moved to Aus and she’s a lot more likeable. They seem like a cool family. Personally I would never want a relationship with a famous actor, musician or sportsman because it feels like almost all of them cheat (with rare exceptions like Hugh Jackman) – the culture of those industries is set up that way and they’re away all the time and women THROW themselves at them.

Why even bother to reply? Lower tabloids always run stories like this, and isn’t it a little disingenuous since Elsa has given many exclusives to Hola! magazine?

Elsa’s leg looks so funny in that top picture. My eye keeps getting drawn to it. She’s gorgeous but seems insufferable to me.

A friend of mine used to live near him and would always see him around and about. She said he was really very lovely and always said hi.
