Maggie Rizer left Trump Model Management because she’s #WithHer

As I discussed in yesterday’s Ivanka Trump post, the Trump-affiliated businesses will likely take a major financial hit regardless of the election outcome (and please let it be because Madame President Hillary Clinton audits the sh-t out of every Trump business). Ivanka Trump only cares about her bottom line, her sad little side-businesses, and Trump’s hotels and properties have already been feeling the burn. Did you know that Trump still owns a model-management company? I had forgotten about it, but it makes sense. He owns Trump Model Management, and model Maggie Rizer was represented by the Trump-branded management. I say “was” because she apparently just fired her manager. Because she couldn’t in good conscience be associated with the Trump brand. She posted this Instagram:

While I think that’s great that she doesn’t want anything to do with anything Trump, I do have to wonder… like, what took her so long? She didn’t leave her management when Trump was calling Mexicans “rapists,” or when he mocked a gold-star family, or when we saw the tape of his p-ssy grabbing brags. Like, there were so many points over the past 16 months where you would have thought, “Hey, I don’t want to be associated with Trump.” But she waited until the very last minute. It feels weird.

Then again, does Maggie work as a model that much anymore? I’m trying to think about the last time I saw her on a red carpet or in an ad campaign. Hm.

Maybe she needed to arrange new management before she quit.

      Yep, or pending jobs.

I don’t know her but she is beautiful. I can see her doing a lot of commercial work which in the long run is way more profitable. I grew up with a model who made it big at 18, with an exclusive with Givenchy right from the start. By 23 she was burnt out and no Longer one of the it girls. Ran into her recently (we’re 27) and she says she’s making more money now doing commercial work then ever before when she was in Paris modeling for high fashion

      • Josefina says:

High fashion is like that. The more prestigious the brand, the worse they are at paying. Your payment for working for them is supposed to be the exposure you get out of it. If you wanna make actual bucks as a model you gotta do commercial work or travel to other markets. Most HF models make their bucks off the Asian markets.

Perhaps she waited because the agency was good for her? From what she’s saying, her agent was a good one. Modeling is an extremely competitive industry, especially at her age, so resigning from your agency is a pretty huge move. It’s not like she worked for Trump himself, anyway.

I think her statement was excellent.

Was Trump Model Management really the best she could do?

My mother owns a Trump mattress (she bought it 3 years ago). I want to throw it out the window.

    Better late than never.

Agreed. I’m sure the Drumpf will says that he’s glad she left, because she’s over the hill and he was going to let her go anyway.

  6. Lena says:

I think for one she might have waited so long because she liked the people working directly with her and didn’t really have anything to do directly with Trump. Another reason might be that’s she actually had worked for some time at leaving but only now wen public/finalized her leaving, maybe she needed to work things out with her lawyer, maybe she wanted to give Corinne a warning before going public, maybe she wanted to find another agency first.

  7. Nev says:

She was big in the early 2000’s.

But of course Trump has a modeling agency, I didn’t know this before now but not surprised in the least. I am kind of surprised that a model I have heard of would be signed with them though.
Hey does anyone remember that old reality show Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency? that was kinda entertaining.

  9. HK9 says:

Good for her on taking a stand. Few people understand how important that is.

  10. Mikeyangel says:

Or maybe she thought she would get more publicity releasing it today, and capitalize on all things antitrump?

No matter the timing it’s these kind of actions that embolden others.
My favorite/hopeful coup is I’ve read there’s a large contingent of leaser’s /owners living in properties w/ the trump name that are demanding his name be removed. Should it happen I’d imagine he’d lose the the management contracts too.

Maggie Ritzer is a survivor! Her step-dad gambled about every last cent of her money- the millions she made from modelling and the inheritance from her father who died of AIDS. She sent her stepdad to prison, had a breakdown (who could blame her), then rebuilt herself.
    I love her!

    • Bridget says:

I actually really like Maggie Rizer. Which is why I’m disappointed that she was with Trump in the first place – even BEFORE this whole mess, he was heinous and tacky and all of his business outlets are seriously shady.
