Duchess Kate wore a £170 cashmere sweater to the Cub Scout event: cute?

wenn30616795

As promised, the Duchess of Cambridge made an increasingly rare solo appearance on Wednesday for the centennial anniversary of the Cub Scouts. Kate is a volunteer/patron to the Scouts, although she barely does anything for them. Like, this is her first appearance on behalf of anything Scout-related since 2014, almost two years ago exactly. For Wednesday’s appearance, Kate didn’t even have to go very far – this special event was hosted just a few miles from Anmer Hall.

I also predicted that this event would feature some jeggings and boots for Kate and look what happened! The boots are from Really Wild Clothing and she’s had them for years and worn them on several low-key events. This is actually how Kate used to dress a lot of the time when she was just a royal girlfriend – she loves the combination of skintight jeans and knee-high boots. Kate’s sweater is cashmere, from Iris and Ink, and it reportedly costs £170. It’s nice and surprisingly slouchy. I haven’t seen an ID on the jeans, but I’m assuming they’re J Brand, just because it seems like she has a million pairs of J Brand skinny jeans. Also: she’s growing out her hair again after the Queen ordered her to cut it! This is the longest her hair has been in a year or more.

What else? People Magazine wrote a glowing article about “Princess Kate” and how wonderful it was that she deigned to hang out with kids for a few hours this week – you can read the piece here. There were about 24 kids there. They played team-building games and ate cupcakes. Also: the neckerchief she’s wearing is part of the Scout life or something.

Going back to the slouchy sweater… I’ll admit, I looked through these photos and examined her midsection for any signs of a bump. To me, she doesn’t look pregnant. Usually, her signs of early pregnancy are a fuller face and a flushed, almost barfy/sick expression. To me, she just looks like her regular thin self. Maybe she’s just trying to make slouchy cashmere turtlenecks happen for Christmas. It wouldn’t be the worst trend.

    WHERE IS HER WOGGLE?

Scarf sans woggle at a scout meeting? Gah. She gets nothing right.

    • detritus says:

What is a woggle, and how do I acquire one such thing?

    • Nic919 says:

There are other pictures where you see the jeans are so tight the outline of her buttcheeks is evident. That is crazy for an event with young boys. What adult woman dresses like this?

      • Lex says:

Omg what?! Human woman has a bottom???!? Kids shouldn’t be subjected to such outrageous filth!!!

        Like, seriously. Get a grip.

      • Melly says:

        @Lex
Do you really think it’s appropriate to wear skin tight pants to a cub scout event when you’re supposed to be representing your country & monarchy? Does that honestly seem professional to you? I’m younger than Kate and I have never been able to wear skinny jeans or jeggings to any professional job I’ve ever had.

      • kay says:

Yoga pants. Skinny jeans. It is fashionable to wear clothes that show yer arse. Same as skinny jeans and boots: the combo gets busted out every fall and spring.

      • notasugarhere says:

Trousers would be appropriate, jeggings or skinny jeans are not. Simple.

      • Bitchy says:

True. In professional life you just don’t show off your assets like that. Unless your job includes undressing or sales in a clothes shop or riding horses professionally.

      • Sharon Lea says:

Those pants are unprofessional, go meet some friends in them instead.

      • Miss Jupitero says:

I’m no prude, and I work in an office where we give new meaning to casual. But even I think twice about certain things: no jeggings or anything that shows off my splendid arse; My t-shirts that say things like “Eat the Rich” and “Hail Satan!” stay at home; and as much as I wanted to wear my Baphomet Christmas sweater to the office party, I decided not to. It’s the friggin’ office, and I like being employed.

      • MissM says:

It’s not about her having a bum, it’s about unprofessional work wear. I work in a relatively casual retail environment but I’m not allowed to wear any sort of jeans or leggings because it’s not professional. Kate represents a country, the girl who works in the shops really shouldn’t be held to a higher dress code than the future Queen. Jeans are fine for this event but they make more cuts than skinny.

      • Nic919 says:

Nice to see the women with actual jobs confirm what the norm is for every other woman out there. Kate would have been spoken to by HR for those jeans. She is not on her personal time when she visits the Scouts.

I mean I guess jeans so tight you see the buttcrack outline is a step up for Kate when she has flashed her ass at memorials and airports on official appearances.

And the woman has never worn trousers in public ever. That is just bizarre.

      • detritus says:

Whaaaaaat, Nic, where do you work that Kate would have been spoken to by HR?
Are you kidding, is this hyperbole? Are you ladies the women who complain about other women’s skirt lengths?

Ladies, I work at a Uni and I wear trousers that have spandex in them. They are tight. They show the curve of my ass. I have worked for government, and ditto.
None of the boys or men around me have fainted in sex-thought induced vapors.

The modesty rules here are, don’t show huge amount of cleavage, no spaghetti straps and skirts should hit just above the knee or lower.

Nothing about not wearing body flattering clothing. Bums will kill no one.

      • Nic919 says:

Yes actually they would. Jeggings and yoga pants are not appropriate work attire and it is specifically mentioned in the dress code.

      • notasugarhere says:

I’ve also worked for government, in a government building, and there was a dress code. No shorts, leggings, or jeggings. Jeans in good repair (no holes, trendy or not) on Fridays but only with supervisor approval. No clothes that reveal midsection skin (no tummy-skimming tops or butt crack revealing pants). No clothes that show off lingerie or underwear (ie no sheer blouses or spaghetti straps, no pants so loose they drop off the back of a person’s behind and show off branded underwear). Real shoes, no flip flops. That was in a government office where we were rarely visited by the general public.

      • Llamas says:

My mother always makes a point of how in a professional job you have to dress a specific way. She says people get sent home for too tight pants and anything that isn’t business attire.

      • hmmm says:

        @Lex

Someone needs a lesson in etiquette. It’s really that simple.

      • Tia Maria says:

I really don’t get the hate for these jeans at all. She was at a casual/activity based event, a suit would hardly be appropriate! I’m no fan of the duchess but I see no issue here. Each to their own I guess.

      • detritus says:

The only girl I have ever hear of being spoken to, was because she was wearing mini skirts and midriff baring tops in a biohazard level 2 lab.

Never had anyone say anything otherwise. Jeans aren’t really the thing here, and I don’t wear jeggings to work, but my trousers show just as much.

It’s funny though, my Director often wears jeans with his blazer, I’ve never heard anyone saying he isn’t professional. In the lab, one of our leads used to wear the same stained khakis all week, except the week he would wear the ratty jeans instead. Disgusting footwear too. Never once spoken to. It’s interesting to see how the idea of ‘professionalism’ intersects with people’s idea of feminine modesty.

      • grace says:

Unless they work for a consulting firm, the government or something similar, women in my country typically wear jeans a lot (from skinny to boyfriend fit), skirts and dresses short or long. Even teachers. Nobody’s outraged, men are not lured by our asses (or at least they don’t show it). And, guess what, we’re still professionals.

      • manda says:

I do, like everyday. When did we decide that skinny jeans and boots were a bad outfit?

      • sarah says:

Lex, I’m a teacher and I would never wear such tight pants when I’m around kids.
Kate just wants to show off how thin she is.

      • cindyp says:

@Lex, are you kidding? I would never wear leggings to work except with a sweater or tunic that covered by butt. She dresses like an immature 18yr old who wants everyone to look at her.

      • Nic919 says:

If men wore jeggings or yoga pants to work they would be unprofessional as well, but men don’t tend to wear skin tight outfits to work. If they did they would be called on it too. Women have more flexibility because fashion provides more options and some women abuse it.

Wear all the skin tight stuff you want on private time, but Kate is there as a representative of the BRF, and while wearing jeans could work in this context, they don’t need to be so tight that they wedge up her ass. She does this all the time too. It isn’t a one time thing. And Will often wears pants that are way to tight as well. People make complaints here about that too.

      • Amy says:

Heartily agree with you, Nic919! Guys have a dress code too. This isn’t about avoiding a woman’s body, just having a nice all around appearances, all genders. <3

    • Christin says:

Is that a slider type accessory for scarves (similar to what the scouts use to secure theirs)?

If so, I had a couple of nice woggles in the early 90s. Easier than learning ways to tie a scarf.

      • Sixer says:

Yes! I was never even a Brownie (aside from one awful induction meeting) and even I owned a woggle!

      • Bitchy says:

        Kate’s pathetic attempt at window-dressing.

She attends a scouts’ event but does only wear the scarf? What about the blouse? Show some commitment!

    • Cee says:

OMG I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING MISSING.

Her team are so useless! And she is pointless.

    • Jen says:

As a Cub Scout leader I can assure you that we don’t all wear a woggle. I use a wreath knot to tie my scarf!

  2. Millennial says:

She needs to give ankle boots a try!

    • Melly says:

Overall she needs better taste in shoes. And pants. And makeup. And accessories.

    • HeyThere! says:

I think she would look great in cute ankle boots!!! Good call!!! Wish I could style her for a week. It’s hard to get out of your comfort zone but I could do amazing things! LOL She would fire me after the week but she would have never looked better!!!!

    • Chrissy says:

She probably thinks that they make her short legs appear longer. It seems to be one of her many obsessions along with thick eyeliner, long fake hair, no nail polish, over-exaggerated facial expressions, flashing and dieting into oblivion.

      • burnsie says:

She doesn’t wear nail polish bce William doesn’t like it 🙄

      • notasugarhere says:

Whether or not William likes it, it is against BRF dress protocol for women to wear colored finger nail polish. No idea if it is banned for the men, or for toenails since Camilla was snapped with toe nail polish on their recent Mid-East tour. That was one of Diana’s first big moves, wearing red finger nail polish and an all-black outfit after the separation was announced.

      • graymatters says:

Nota, I think Princess Margaret used to wear colored nail polish. I don’t know that Diana necessarily stayed away from it before her separation; but it might be part of her, “I’m a sexy available woman” persona afterwards — maybe to make Charles jealous?

  3. detritus says:

Tight jeans, tall riding boots, coach/Marc j/MK purse.
It’s the uniform of the Vet school on campus/every horse girl ever. You show your wealth with the boots and purse and your fitness with the skin tight fit, while not being cold and never having to think too much about shoes. It’s also basic white girl 101 fashion.

As a basic white girl, I will be wearing something very similar to work.

    • Pip says:

Yup, I pretty much wear a variation of this outfit every day of my life. Usually with wellies rather than posh boots though. & frequently accessorised with mud/tomato/grass stains.

I’m very grubby & can’t be arsed with grooming, unless a horse is involved 🙂

      • detritus says:

ahaha yup. Because of the vet school I see the galoshes/blood/mud look too.
It looks semi put together, but with minimal effort. can’t hate.

      • Llamas says:

Or wear something long enough to cover her ass if she’s that insistent on paint on jeans.

    • Melly says:

It is the basic white girl uniform! All she needs is a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks to complete the look.
I’m younger than Kate, but even I think her pants are way too tight. They are especially tight considering she is at work with freakin cub scouts. Has she ever work pants that weren’t skinny jeans or leggings?

      • detritus says:

I think she buys most of her clothing when she feels the hottest (when shes the most emaciated). So they product of this is overly tight pants most of the time.
Or she’s obsessed with the size number and HAS to fit into a certain size.

  4. Realitycheck says:

Sorry but this is not style. Nothing about her outfit has any style to it.

  5. Alix says:

Jeggings are inappropriate for ANY official appearance. No exceptions.

    • Melly says:

I think jeggings are inappropriate when the shirt doesn’t cover the bum. If the sweater was longer then I think this outfit would have been fine. Not great, just passable.

      • Olenna says:

IA. Cover the bum and she’s good to go. There’s no parting her with her skinny jeans. That said, there’s nothing wrong with the outfit for this event; it’s her usual boring style. She actually looks like she’s having fun in some pics.

    • Bitchy says:

      @ Alix

Exactly. Jeggins and Skinnies and Leggins aren’t professional clothing. Showing your assets, your calves and your camel toe is simply unprofessional.

    • JaneDoesWork says:

Agreed. Pre-2012 she wore normal jeans and pants a decent amount… where have they gone? I think this outfit is cute on her, I just don’t don’t support wearing leggings in a professional capacity.

  6. LAK says:

My only take away from this appearance was the lack of wiglets/extensions. She’s got nice hair.

  7. Dee says:

Well I really quite like the sweater. And I think people are going way overboard by saying those pants are inappropriate or too tight. There’s nothing wrong with them.

    • Arlene says:

Exactly, they’re just skinny jeans. Millions of adult women wear them daily.

      • Bruyere says:

And adult men! One of our consultants wears the tiniest little hipster skinny jeans. One of my legs = his entire body. I feel like an ogre standing next to him and I’m only 5′ 2″

    • Melly says:

Skinny jeans and/or jeggings are fine for an average person. She is a duchess and supposedly working. I can’t wear jeggings (where you can see the outline of my butt) to my job or my boss would chew me out.

      • Soothie says:

I think the fact that your boss would comment on the tightness of your pants is far more inappropriate than wearing them in the first place.

It’s amazing to me that all the Kate haters seem to work in offices where people pay extremely close attention to the tightness of pants. In my office (financial services, Wall street) this would be a totally fine outfit for Friday. As of yet, no men have been driven to uncontrollable sexual impulses through the sheer fact of seeing an outline of a butt.

    • graymatters says:

Granted, I don’t spend much time looking at women’s backsides, but those jeans seem to be at least one size too small. When the jeans fit properly, they fit smoothly over the curves. Hers cut into them, as though the fabric is so strained by covering her cheeks it needs to snap back in at the top of her thigh. She’s not a particularly curvy woman (no shade) so the jeans would likely fit better in a different size. That said, I generally like the outfit, except that the color of the boots and jeans don’t go together very well.

    • woodstock_schulz says:

I don’t mind skinny pants/jeans/leggings, I wear them often myself with boots similar to hers. BUT, I always make sure my top covers my bum, (either the top itself or any sweater I am wearing over it) it’s about balance. If the pants are skinny, then I pick a flowy top/sweater. I agree with graymatters that Kate’s pants are too tight however, that together with the too short sweater, is inappropriate.

  8. Adele Dazeem says:

Why does she always look younger, better and happier in casual clothes??

Work wear/formal wear is really her fashion Waterloo. While I don’t think she’s setting any fashion trends with this look, she looks better (and even more relaxed, better smiles) than when she’s in some old lady dress coat with sausage girls and a fascinator.

    • Poppy says:

I agree with Adele, this seems to be the kind of event where Kate just thrives – shame she doesn’t carry out more of them – (but don’t forget, we can’t rely on her to carry out the same engagements year after year – as per her husband. Makes me wonder how any charity can rely on her! ) Yet again she looked relaxed, happy, just as if she were playing with her own kids. My only gripe is the fact she thought it ok to wear a brand new cashmere sweater worth £170 to play with kids! She has debuted new ‘casual’ outfits all year, throughout both tours yet she can’t find anything worth wearing a second time suitable for a play date!!!!!!! She really is on a mission to hold a charity clothes auction for her 10th anniversary ( I’ll get one up on that woman I keep getting compared to if it kills me…

  9. unbroken says:

    Is she pregnant?

  10. JMO says:

When I look at the pics and see her fuller face etc., I really think she has a bun in the oven…

  11. Melly says:

This woman is just SO BORING. GRRRR. She lacks style, work ethic, and personality. I just can’t with her and her lame husband.

    • seesittellsit says:

@Melly – second that. But I would kill for the sweater in cashmere. I can’t even afford the $39.99 cashmere sweaters in TJ Maxx.

      • Melly says:

I got a couple really cute cashmere sweaters at a thrift store I frequent. I highly recommend going to thrift stores in wealthy areas, it’s amazing what cute clothes wealthy people donate.

  12. Meow says:

Hey, fewer hair extensions! Someone give her another pair of shoes as a reward!

  13. Meow says:

P.S. Of COURSE she attended – Carole is rallying the troops against Markle. Gotta keep that sweet sweet spotlight somehow.

  14. hopeitstrue says:

    Kate’s so bland.

  15. The Original Mia says:

Nice of her to visit her patronage. It’s only been 2 years. What more can be said about the jeans? They are skin-tight and inappropriate. Next.

    • bluhare says:

It’s actually not her patronage. She might be taking it over from the Queen at some point, though. Signs point that way. Apparently she used to volunteer with them.

  16. cindyp says:

She needs to cut that mop

    • Chrissy says:

I agree, cindyp. It’s so ridiculous and just points out that she’s emotionally stuck in high school. So unprofessional for a supposedly grown-up almost 35 year old Duchess.

      • cindyp says:

Exactly! Her style is so boring, she needs Stitch Fix!

      • Pim says:

Why does long hair mean high school? can a woman over a certain age not have long hair?
I always find it it’s short haired woman who make these ‘her hair needs to be cut\ her hair is too long’ comments, they usually have cut their previously long hair short after having kids and are bitter(deny it, it’s true).

      • PoliteTeaSipper says:

Long hair on women in their thirties means they are deluded and think they are teenagers? What? Who made that rule?

      • cindyp says:

Oh stop; if you want long hair that probably looks awful b/c your husband/BF likes it, good for you. I have curly hair mid neck length. I try to grow it out once in a while but cut it when it starts looking messy & awful. I prefer to look more adult & put together.

    • Pim says:

Her hair is stunning and feminine, people can’t deal with the fact that a woman over 30 has long thick shiny hair, and has not had it cut into a butch mom cut. As much as people try to deny it, long hair inspires a lot of envy in women of all ages.

      • cindyp says:

No, I actually feel sorry for women with awful looking long hair who think guys like it. Not envious at all. I have blonde, curly, mid neck length hair & constantly get compliments on how nice it looks.

      • Adele Dazeem says:

No need to feel sorry for all of us over the hill long haired chicks. I have long hair because *I* like it and frankly I don’t give a damn what any man, even my husband (who I adore) think about it.
        #Nof*cksgiven

      • I have shoulder length hair that I curl or put into a pony. I am also a mom of two. I don’t consider myself a butch by any means. And I resent the description. And, by the way, I’m probably old enough to be your mother!

      • notasugarhere says:

Pim you see nothing wrong in using a word like “butch” as a negative adjective? Typical Middleton fanatic.

The length of her hair is not the problem. The problem is that she refuses to style it professionally. If you’re going to work, style your hair for work. If you’re going to be working with food and crafts with kids, put your hair up.

  17. GoT says:

I remember when people thought Kate and Wills would bring a breath of fresh air into the British royal family but now they are just boring and lazy.

  18. JaneDoesWork says:

I actually would totally wear this outfit, but the slits on the sleeves would drive me insane. I think it looks better from the side than head on.

Am I crazy… or does she look slightly tweaked? Something around her eyes? She looks younger…. or well rested or something. I’m wondering if that absence was less of a bun in the oven and more of a botox to the face.

  19. IMO says:

Queen Letizia should give her some style tips, especially when it comes to her hair.

  20. agnes says:

Her cheeks look like they’re ready to explode.

    • lola says:

That’s why some people think she is pregnant. Kate had the same cheeks when she had a bun in the oven.

      • Yolanda says:

Nope, it’s the fillers and botox that make her face look fuller.

      • Bitchy says:

It must have been those comments on her sagging cheeks and jowls that made her to get fillers. I don’t think we can expect her to age gracefully.

  21. Yolanda says:

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CzqGbzfWgAI1Ep1.jpg

I find the pants too tight for her, but perhaps I’m just an old prude.
    Doesn’t look very comfortable either.

    • Sarah says:

No, I’m 26 and also think that they are too tight.

    • Melly says:

It’s not just you. I’m a few years younger than Kate and I would never wear skin tight pants to work. I can’t even imagine having the outline of my entire bum visible when I’m in a professional setting. Now in my own time, I pretty much live in yoga pants. I keep an extra pair in the car so i can change into them after I leave work!

    • Nic919 says:

That’s the picture I was referring to. Those skinny jeans are way too tight for any kind of event where she represents the monarchy. It’s tacky and cheap looking and if she wants to go clubbing in that fine but otherwise save it for her lengthy private time.

    • Cee says:

She’s trying to give the illusion of having a round arse (all Middleton women have flat buttocks) but all she does is highlight how tight her jeans are. This is a clear example of vanity sizing – she needs a size up and she would look AMAZING in those jeans.

    • Hazel says:

Gad! Really uncomfortable! I don’t think I could stand those, even for the short hour she wore them. I think these were the skinnies she wore when hiking in Bhutan as well; which, come to think of it, seems VERY uncomfortable given how much they dig in. And I agree, I thought maybe she was preggers, given that she never wears loose, flowing tops. Ever since her marriage, she’s worn nothing but body-con, form-fitting clothing. Pippa will wear loose, but not Kate.

    • Adele Dazeem says:

Oh wow. Those ARE tight! Not to be crass..but doesn’t that make her lady business hurt? When I wear pants that tight…it hurts. I’ll leave it at that.

  22. curious says:

    OT

How do you think would the public react if Kate would become pregnant again?

  23. Angel says:

This sweater with some trousers would be perfect for this event. As it is she was an embaressment, that top pic with the hand shake? Please try to be worthy of the respect afforded you.

  24. OTHER RENEE says:

I think she looks great. And happy. This is definitely where she’s comfortable, around kids.

    • Cee says:

And sports. She should focus on those things instead of mental health, art and history.

      • Joannie says:

        Mental health is important!!

      • Llamas says:

Mental health is very important (Im so happy that 21 Century Cares Act included the first measures to help people with Eating Disorders!!!) but she does not help the cause one bit. Mental health needs someone who is willing to put in the effort. She is not.

      • Cee says:

Joannie OF COURSE mental health is important. But Kate has done zero research or effort into educating herself in this area thus her asinine and wrongful comments about the topic. She is NOT helping this issue, rather the opposite.

  25. Sue Ellen says:

I do like the sweater, but I am more forgiving as I found out yesterday baby number 2 is on the way. Unlike Kate’s pregnancies, I don’t feel barfy 🙂

  26. jerkface says:

Yawn. Wake us up when you guys storm the castle over visible camel toe.

  27. Tough Cookie says:

stand up straight for God’s sake and yes we have all seen the ring.

I see women on the street wearing $29.99 sweaters from Target with more style.

  28. Cerys says:

It’s a nice top but not worth the money. I’ve seen better in Primark. jeggings are not suitable for any Royal appearance even a casual one. There are plenty of nice casual trousers around that she could wear.

  29. CrystalBall says:

She looks untidy and a little bedraggled. And 7 weeks pregnant.

  30. Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Considering the recent work on her face she is NOT pregnant. As for the outfit, am over the ‘must show off my assets at every opportunity to get attention and front page press’.

Again she wore something brand new.

  31. Joannie says:

She has a great figure and wears the heck out of those pants. I think she looks beautiful. Pictures dont do her justice.

    • sarah says:

I knew this was you without even looking at your name! Very few people would say she has a “great figure.” She is unhealthily skinny and wearing paint-on pants to visit young boys. Inappropriate in every way.
And she has TERRIBLE posture. Stand up straight!!!!

I wear skinny jeans, but I’m not a royal doing royal duties.

Kate once again is vulgar and woefully inappropriate. There is nothing to admire here. Makes me wonder if she is doing this on purpose to annoy the Queen.

    (I like those boots…)

  34. Amelie says:

I’m ignoring all the comments here about this outfit today because I am literally wearing the exact same outift. At work. Skinny jeans, long slouchy cable knit sweater and brown boots. Kate is NOT wearing jeggings. Those are skinny jeans. You guys can go on and on about how unprofessional they are to wear to work. I wear them literally every single day, nobody freaks out over it, HR has never written me up, my coworkers do not give a donut. And I’m definitely not the only woman in my office who dresses this way. Granted, my office is very casual and I work in a very unformal industry (digital comics, you will never get me to wear trousers or slacks to work). I don’t know if it’s because I’m a millennial but Kate’s outfit doesn’t bother me since I dress like that every day. You can chase me with your skinny jeans pitchforks, I’m not budging. And neither is Kate apparently.

I wear mine to work every day as well. I’m a chartered accountant.

    • PoliteTeaSipper says:

I’m a speech language pathologist and that outfit is pretty much our unofficial career uniform. In my office, no one cares.

    • Harla Jodet says:

Hi Amelie, I too wear skinny jeans sometimes to work but I’m not representing Queen and Country nor is my photo posted in papers around the world, I think this is were the difference between you wearing skinny jeans and Kate wearing them lies.

      • Amelie says:

Meh I don’t buy that argument. Just because she is a “royal” (born a commoner) she can’t wear skinny jeans to an event? She would have looked weird had she worn a suit or a dress here. I see no problem with it. Most of the time I agree with the Kate criticism–she is work shy, she wears her hair down and too long, and I don’t like everything she wears. But the skinny jeans thing (they are NOT JEGGINGS) is ridiculous. Who is she offending exactly? The press? The royal family? You guys? Everyone’s acting like she’s walking around just with a thong.

      • Nic919 says:

Does everyone wearing skinny jeans at work wear them so tight they are wedged up your ass? Because the pictures of Kate are showing that. Not all skinny jeans are alike and Kate even has a black pair that aren’t as tight. She just has no sense of decorum.

And it’s not a commoner thing. If Kate is going to emulate Kardashians, then why should the UK fund the lifestyle of a wannabe celebrity. Royalty is an anachronism, but they need to differentiate themselves somehow in order to justify the millions they get. If Kate can’t get with the program, she is going to make it easy for the republicans to start dismantling the whole system.

    • Tina says:

Do any of you work in the UK? I worked in the City for ages and now in academia, and I’d never wear skinny jeans to work. It’s a more formal society here.

    • notasugarhere says:

Amelie, are you supported by the taxpayers to represent a nation? Nope. What you are allowed to wear to work and what she is allowed to wear to work are two completely different things.

  35. Grinling Gibbons says:

Meanwhile, reporters commented that she stayed for ONE WHOLE HOUR (even though she was mere minutes from her own front door). What did we all do to deserve such selfless devotion? #blessed

  36. Sage says:

Meh, her outfit is fine. Imo, it’s not the clothes it’s her. She walks so timidly and seems so insecure at these events.

  37. L84Tea says:

I think she looks good and more Kate Middleton’esque (rather than Duchess of Cambridge) than she’s looked in a long time. I much prefer Kate Middleton to the DOC.

  38. Egla says:

Well she has a good body and is clearly proud of herself BUT she can choose better. I wear tight jeans, my friends do to and we try to choose the right size and material. And my biggest problem with her is her posture. She seems…afraid, shy, insecure.
Sometimes I wonder why did she insist in this marriage? Didn’t she knew what was going to happen? I thought long and hard when I changed carrier 11 years ago. I asked and I knew what was my new work about.
Also I have a girl like her at work. She is useless and pretentious also, strange combo. You can’t count on her but she is the first to let you know her position. Luckily she is junior to me otherwise……

  39. Starlight says:

I think she could have put her hair in a ponytail she always has to show up like a vamp, she would look good in one of those sexy female hunting grouse shoots in those skinny jeans and the boots In a field

  40. Lana 234 says:

I think Kate’s outfit is appropriate for the kind of event she is attending. She looked relaxed and casual. Trousers would’ve been too formal for the event. She is not attending a state dinner meeting foreign dignitaries.
